[00:28:39] shipments. As part of the actions, the Foreign Ministry requested
[00:28:42] a meeting with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to propose the possibility
[00:28:45] that foreign inspectors be replaced by Mexican
[00:28:49] health personnel. To export avocados, they must be
[00:28:53] inspected, both the
[00:28:57] orchards where they are produced and
[00:29:00] the packing areas.
[00:29:04] So we met with them and we are
[00:29:07] making a very important work plan to further guarantee
[00:29:11] security in certain areas
[00:29:14] where there was not
[00:29:16] so much National Guard presence.
[00:29:20] And as part of this plan, the Ministry of
[00:29:24] National Defense has already deployed more than 1,500
[00:29:27] elements to Michoacán to reinforce security in avocado
[00:29:31] production. These are National Guard and army personnel who will
[00:29:34] combat extortion and monitor food sanitation
[00:29:37] inspection points, in addition to conducting patrols and reconnaissance
[00:29:41] tasks in nine municipalities, including
[00:29:44] Apatzingán, Aguililla, Buenavista, Cotija and
[00:29:48] Zamora. The Ministry of Health
[00:29:50] ruled out
[00:29:55] that there is an outbreak of cyclosporiasis in Mexico,
[00:29:58] after confirming 33 cases distributed in 13 states of the
[00:30:02] country. The authorities specified that this figure represents a very
[00:30:06] low incidence and does not constitute a health emergency. Epidemiological
[00:30:10] surveillance was reinforced after the governments of the United
[00:30:13] States and the United Kingdom reported infections
[00:30:16] associated with travelers who visited Mexico. After the
[00:30:20] analysis, the Secretary of Health, David
[00:30:23] Kersenovich, called on the population to remain
[00:30:26] calm while epidemiological investigations
[00:30:30] continue. The Ministry of
[00:30:34] Health immediately activated the corresponding investigation,
[00:30:37] sanitary surveillance, and epidemiological
[00:30:41] surveillance protocols. From May

[00:30:48] cases have been identified
[00:30:51] in nationals, in 13 states.
