[00:00:02] the money each [00:00:04] of these startups will be giving 12, each [00:00:06] of these [00:00:06] of 12 selected startups will be giving [00:00:08] $10000 each [00:00:11] of them each [00:00:12] of them, $10000, [00:00:15] $100, equity [00:00:16] of investment [00:00:17] of at 7.5%, and that's not all, at the end of this program they have [00:00:21] the ability to also move for up to [00:00:23] 250,000 full-up [00:00:26] investment, okay, and then what's the difference? [00:00:30] I know that we talked about the founders lab which [00:00:34] we we featured on the program and this one is the growth lab so what's the [00:00:37] difference uh who [00:00:42] lab like we've talked about [00:00:44] of from this from the start deals with you incubating [00:00:48] of ideas right towards building an MVP that's what the founder's lab deals with so [00:00:52] you're an individual you have an idea you are thinking about it you [00:00:56] haven't done you're doing some work but you need support to get. [00:01:00] to developing a product right, that's the founder's lab and the growth lab [00:01:04] is the next level which is sort of accelerating, so after you have started you need to [00:01:08] grow, absolutely, absolutely, and that's where you begin to seek [00:01:12] for funding, seek for you know [00:01:15] mentorship and also validating the minimum viable [00:01:19] product, does it matter the number of years of existence before you can get the [00:01:23] growth lab, is that to taking for the [00:01:25] growth, 12 months, at least 12 months in [00:01:28] business, yeah we expect [00:01:30] of that by that time you've developed your MVP and you're looking [00:01:34] to now skill and that's where all of this funding would would take [00:01:38] place and on the growth lab just to add to what mentioned so there are two [00:01:42] courts right we expect that the plan is for us to get [00:01:46] 24 uh entrepreneurs coming out [00:01:49] of the growth club from the two courts the 12 per court two [00:01:53] courts um and for the growth for the finders lab which [00:01:56] you know it's as closed now we expect to to support [00:02:00] 500 uh entrepreneurs from that process and also feed [00:02:03] into the the [00:02:05] so can you want [00:02:05] to tell us about i think you have a website and opening and closing [00:02:09] application days and yes we we've launched the cough application about three [00:02:13] weeks ago wednesday july 15th and we're wrapping up august [00:02:17] 19th and um for those who are listening to me it's [00:02:20] www.id you want to say it slowly slowly yeah it's [00:02:24] www.idistartupbridge.ng [00:02:28] so once you go there you just click on apply in to give you more information, we have a [00:02:32] standard FAQ for if you have any more questions, but if you want to reach out to us [00:02:36] personally you can follow us on instagram x are you what are you on they're [00:02:40] all id startup bridge okay ida startup bridge with a [00:02:44] small eye i believe yes okay you can also send us an email and reach we will [00:02:48] get back to you in the three working days um [00:02:51] info@idbreak okay and this is up [00:02:55] until [00:02:56] of august 19th august 19th and then once you start the process then [00:03:00] you can um okay, you can follow up from there any closing [00:03:04] remarks from the gentlemen? [00:08:44] Before the roads, before the [00:08:47] cities, there was river, [00:08:51] river that carried kingdoms, stories [00:08:55] and generations of people, [00:08:58] its waters witnessed prosperity, its [00:09:02] cars shaped destinies and its [00:09:06] spirit still flows today from fish [00:09:10] and festivals to rivers. games [00:09:14] from culture and [00:09:17] cusin to art, [00:09:21] history and living [00:09:22] traditions, the river calls [00:09:26] us home, [00:09:30] because the river [00:09:32] knows we are [00:09:35] one, [00:09:39] water, [00:09:39] don't get anything. [00:09:54] welcome back to watching business morning here on channel's television and we're staying [00:09:58] on um well entrepreneurship building entrepreneurs in the [00:10:01] country, an individual has also been um [00:10:05] working in this space and we've heard stories of how she tries [00:10:09] empower individuals and youths when it comes to... [00:10:12] entrepreneurship and she has introduced to us a word [00:10:16] called problem preneur, i don't [00:10:19] discuss that now, and that's Dr. Princess again, she's the [00:10:23] founder and group chief executive. officer of [00:10:26] GMYT Group Limited um uh Dr. [00:10:30] Gen this problem preneur word please [00:10:34] help us to pronounce it and help us to understand [00:10:37] it. Good morning, good morning [00:10:41] everyone. So yeah, I mean you pronounced it right to the problem [00:10:44] preneur instead of entrepreneurship, so the [00:10:48] problempreneur, that's [00:10:50] it. Okay, so what's it about and what are we supposed who is supposed to be a [00:10:54] problem? Yeah, um, everyone, [00:10:58] actually, you know, so it's time for us [00:11:01] to stop accing what [00:11:05] business where to start next, or what business [00:11:08] should we venture into, or, you know, we should just should [00:11:12] start thinking about what problems we should solve [00:11:16] in the society, [00:11:17] you know, and so for me, I'm looking at my [00:11:21] journey, I'm just thinking, this has always been a part. [00:11:25] that [00:11:25] you know have always choosen, so all the [00:11:29] businesses that I have today is solving, identifying a problem [00:11:33] and then solving one problem a [00:11:36] time right, that is been driving [00:11:39] solutions for the society, and that is why we have the [00:11:43] business we have today, so looking at that, the several businesses [00:11:47] I have, I decided okay so what name will I call this, because this is not just [00:11:50] entrepreneurship, this is really solving problems, so and I think that was [00:11:54] what better the idea, the problem pr, so everybody should, if you're a [00:11:58] student, if you're a genitor, [00:12:00] you just do your job well, look at the problems that the organization you know is [00:12:04] facing or [00:12:04] whatever place of work you are [00:12:07] or you know whatever you are doing, [00:12:09] just instead of complaining you [00:12:10] know that um we're not we're not getting it [00:12:14] easier, we're not having it easy in the society, we should just look at how to solve [00:12:18] problems, so that's that's what the problem pr is about, all right, so [00:12:22] please um, i know lot of people are watching this program [00:12:25] now and uh you have uh, you, I mean, you interact with a whole lot [00:12:29] of people, so assuming you're talking to a youth for [00:12:33] instance now, and you're telling the youth this that you have [00:12:36] said, what are those specific areas that you think a youth [00:12:40] can possibly dive into - [00:12:44] realistically, when you look at the Nigerian operating environment, you look [00:12:47] at the issue of technology, you look at the issue of [00:12:50] funding, what area do you think a youth can just say, oh [00:12:55] okay, i don't want to complain anymore, i don't want to wait for jobs [00:12:58] anymore, i want to be a problem preneur, what [00:13:02] area do you think and how do you think that you can actually start [00:13:06] out? the lots, mean it's [00:13:09] unlimited, we are in the digital age now, so AI [00:13:13] is actually one tool that the youth can use instead of just [00:13:17] you know being on social media for for fun, [00:13:21] they can actually use that to probably help some business owners. [00:13:25] um tell their stories, reposition, [00:13:27] you know, um, their businesses, put their businesses in the in the [00:13:31] spotlight, you use India, of course the tools, the social media [00:13:34] tools and also, I mean a lot of problems that they can also [00:13:38] help solve, like um, you know, again telling the [00:13:42] stories, so imagine if I have a content [00:13:46] creator in my organization, that that's that's solving problem for me, because [00:13:50] I wouldn't have to worry about you know um people getting to know what [00:13:54] I do, so yes, they should instead of just staying in your house [00:13:57] or just playing on social media, reach out to companies and then say, oh, i can [00:14:01] tell your stories right, i can help you position your product or your services [00:14:05] and before you know it, mean if you're solving my problem i will pay for the [00:14:09] service, so that mean there's a lot, that's just one, but there's actually [00:14:12] lot, skill, you know, learning skill, so trading [00:14:16] talent, um, so if you for instance we have the fashion [00:14:19] academy, so if you can of course instead of just [00:14:23] complaining decide that you want come be faculty [00:14:26] after [00:14:27] you know learning the fashion um education then yes it means [00:14:31] that you're helping solve a problem and then you be paid of course for your service as well [00:14:35] there's actually so much to do yeah so I guess it's all about creating [00:14:39] value are looking for that nee and creating value and then [00:14:42] um [00:14:43] you can you get paid for it obviously get paid for yeah [00:14:47] instead of also coming to work and just you know being idle but ensuring [00:14:51] that in your workplace you're constantly looking for the challenges that you're gna [00:14:55] organization is facing and putting your strength [00:14:59] forward to say, i can help solve this problem, you know, i [00:15:03] think that would also help you not just get promotion but also get even more [00:15:06] income, so there's there's like lot of opportunities, i [00:15:10] see opportunities and challenges right, embrace challenges [00:15:14] actually, because mean if we in our comfort zone you see [00:15:17] that we won't we won't make money, we won't even [00:15:20] grow right, but when we're constantly looking [00:15:25] for growth was constantly looking for opportunities and [00:15:28] especially the um the ability to identify [00:15:32] problems and then create solution, solution that is [00:15:36] deserving of you, people puting their hand in their pocket to say okay, i want to [00:15:39] pay for this solution, [00:15:41] then i mean you see that our society will become a better [00:15:45] place. all right, dr. princess, thank you so much for those [00:15:48] tips, i would challenge myself, i would do more in my [00:15:51] organization, not just for promotion, founder and group [00:15:55] chief executive officer of GMyt group limited, thank you for your [00:15:58] time, yeah, thank you, all [00:16:02] right, we'll go for just a short commercial break and then we'll go [00:16:05] global [00:16:58] the global econ the UK economy is showing first signs [00:17:02] of resilience, activity in the country's dominant services [00:17:06] sectors accelerated to the month high um easing [00:17:09] concerns over slowing growth and boosting confidence and the [00:17:13] economic outlook. let's unpack this now and other matters. join me now [00:17:17] is Simon Pusy, our london correspondent. great to have you, Simon, good [00:17:21] morning. [00:17:25] all right, so um, Simon, we see the UK services sector has rebounded to [00:17:29] a three-month high. is this the beginning of a broader economic um [00:17:33] recovery or just a temporary improvement? [00:17:40] Okay, I see a mount moving, I think you have to [00:17:42] unmute. [00:17:48] Okay, all right, Simon, you have to unmute, I see your mouth [00:17:52] moving, but we'll try that again, but definitely let's look at the data [00:17:55] now, um, showing you the resilience there in the UK [00:17:59] economy, see uh services PMI that came in at [00:18:02] 52.1, points, previous was [00:18:05] 48.8, that was in... traction zone uh the flash [00:18:09] estimate was at 51.8 and we see anything above the 50 point [00:18:13] level that's um you know signaling you know [00:18:16] expansion um right there let's try and get simon now [00:18:19] all right simon can you hear me now yes sorry about that you introduce me [00:18:23] there is your London correspondent um I'm actually here in Ulayapol which is [00:18:27] a fishing port village there inveness and it's quite fitting [00:18:31] as this village um is one of many that are part the UK services [00:18:34] sector that's restaurants hotels and um and that's [00:18:38] fitting because as you said the services purchasing purchasing managers index or the [00:18:42] PMI which is a survey that manages business activity [00:18:46] measures business activity in the UK services sector um well [00:18:49] that's gone up very very strongly it [00:18:52] was it's positive news really for the prime minister um and a [00:18:56] stronger services sector can have wide ranging effects um it can help [00:19:00] economic growth since services dominate the UK economy it's around [00:19:03] 80% the UK economy that means a stronger activity [00:19:07] raising the likelihood of positive GDP, um, employment, businesses experiencing [00:19:11] higher demand and interest rates, if growth strengthens, while [00:19:15] interest rates continue to ease, the Bank of England may have more [00:19:18] flexibility in its future rate decisions, so is this enough to say that the [00:19:22] UK economy is booming, not necessarily, but [00:19:25] it is some good news for um, like I said the prime minister, the new prime [00:19:28] minister, even though it's really the last prime minister and his chancelor who [00:19:32] is responsible for it. All right, it looks like the data is aligning [00:19:36] well, for him, but let's... switched to currency now [00:19:39] we see the sterling that strengthed against the um Japanese um [00:19:42] yen you know following the latest data, what is this tell us about [00:19:46] you know investors sentiments towards the UK economy and the Bank of [00:19:50] England's policy outlook? yeah, well it's a combination of [00:19:54] factors here, as we just heard PMI figures were better than [00:19:57] expected, when economic data beats expectations, traders often [00:20:01] become more willing to buy a country's currency because the economy may grow faster [00:20:05] and company earnings may improve. the second factor is that the pound [00:20:09] rose most against the yen against other currencies, the Japanese yen has been [00:20:13] volatile recently because investors remain uncertain about future Bank of [00:20:17] Japan policy, officials have intervened in currency markets in recent [00:20:21] weeks to support the yen, so two different factors really that [00:20:25] combined to make um the pound stronger against the yen [00:20:28] there. All right, let's um look at real estate in the [00:20:32] UK, now I will see the the UK has emerged [00:20:35] as Europe's top destiny. nation for real estate uh [00:20:39] capital there we see the investment volume 23 [00:20:43] billion pounds year-on-year change about dropped about [00:20:46] 8% but European ranking number one destination. for real [00:20:50] estate um capital. tell us, what what [00:20:54] does this say about the economy? yeah, so that [00:20:58] headline comes from the CBRE's mid-year 2026 [00:21:02] UK real estate market outlook, which has found that the UK remains the [00:21:06] largest destination for real estate investment in Europe during the [00:21:10] first half of 2026, that is, this is significant because international [00:21:14] investors have become much more selective over the past two years due to higher [00:21:18] interest rates and economic uncertainty. According to CBRE, the UK [00:21:21] attracted more commercial real estate investment than any other European country in the [00:21:25] first six months of this year. Investment activity picked up as [00:21:29] buyers became more confident that interest rates are nearing their peak, and [00:21:33] London continued to be one the world's most attractive cities for global property [00:21:36] investors, while regional the UK cities also saw increased [00:21:40] interest. There are several factors that are working in the UK's factor here um favor [00:21:44] here um the attractive valuations commercial property prices have fallen from their [00:21:48] 2022 peaks after. higher interest rates, pushed valuations [00:21:52] lower. Many investors now believe UK assets offer good long-term [00:21:55] value, stable legal and financial system, so the international pension funds, [00:21:59] sovereign wealth funds and insurance companies value the UK's stable, [00:22:03] legal and financial system, and finally, the improving economic [00:22:06] outlook.
