[00:51:51] Why is ethanol a good fuel? Why is ethanol considered
[00:51:55] a good fuel? The first reason is that it is renewable.
[00:51:58] Unlike petrol, which comes from limited fossil fuels,
[00:52:01] ethanol can be made from sugarcane, corn, and other organic
[00:52:05] sources. And the second big reason is that ethanol
[00:52:08] has a higher octane number. Mixing it with petrol
[00:52:12] improves the fuel's anti-knocking capability and can help
[00:52:16] improve fuel combustion in the engine. The third reason
[00:52:19] is energy security. Ethanol can be made domestically,
[00:52:23] which means that by increasing the proportion of ethanol in petrol,
[00:52:27] India can reduce its dependence on imported crude oil.
[00:52:29] Also, the fourth reason is its benefit to farmers
[00:52:33] and the rural economy. Ethanol production from sugarcane,
[00:52:36] corn, and other feedstocks creates an additional market for farmers
[00:52:40] and can increase industries and employment opportunities
[00:52:43] in rural areas. And the fifth reason is import.
[00:52:47] In such a situation, fluctuations in crude oil prices in the international
[00:52:51] market, geopolitical tensions, and disruptions in global supply
[00:52:54] can directly affect India's economy. This is where ethanol
[00:52:57] blending becomes important. The more domestic ethanol
[00:53:01] is included in petrol, the less petroleum fuel
[00:53:05] will be needed. That means less imports, more
[00:53:08] energy security. Now it comes to farmers. This creates
[00:53:12] an additional market for agricultural products. At the same time,
[00:53:16] investments and employment opportunities also increase in industries related
[00:53:19] to ethanol, plant, storage, transportation, and processing. This means
[00:53:23] a new ecosystem from farm to fuel. And that too because
[00:53:27] when we talk about the whole world, if we talk about the world,
[00:53:30] India is not the only country using ethanol
[00:53:34] blending. But Brazil is among the world's largest
[00:53:37] ethanol producers and users. There, ethanol made from sugarcane
[00:53:41] has been used as transport fuel for a long time.
[00:53:45] In America, corn-based ethanol is also produced
[00:53:48] and used on a large scale. In Europe too, the use of renewable
[00:53:52] fuel in the transport sector is being promoted.
[00:53:56] The policies of countries are different, but the goal
[00:54:00] is the same: to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and increase
[00:54:05] Is E-20 safe for vehicles? We hear this question repeatedly.
