[00:25:10] First, in accordance with the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Public Works and Housing
[00:25:14] and as part of the Ministry's plan for early
[00:25:17] preparation for the coming winter season, the Petra
[00:25:21] Region Public Works Directorate
[00:25:24] precautionary and proactive measures
[00:25:27] to ensure the safety of road users and to improve
[00:25:33] the area. Among the most important of these works was
[00:25:36] the implementation of metal mesh protections
[00:25:40] for the cuttings on Al-Balata Road, on the main
[00:25:44] royal road inside Wadi Musa, where the Directorate
[00:25:47] began implementing these works almost
[00:25:51] completed them, covering an area of approximately 6500
[00:25:54] square meters. These
[00:25:56] works will stabilize the rocks
[00:26:00] and protect road users from any falling rocks, God
[00:26:04] forbid, during the rainy
[00:26:06] season, during the coming weather
[00:26:09] conditions, God willing. Engineer, some of the rocks were
[00:26:13] dangerous and led to falling during the coming
[00:26:16] seasons, or rather, during the past rainy
[00:26:19] seasons. In the coming season, how will the situation be, especially
[00:26:23] after this protection that you have installed and after removing
[00:26:27] some dangerous rocks? Sir,
[00:26:30] we first removed the loose stones using
[00:26:33] a chain excavator, and then we implemented
[00:26:37] protection nets. These protections will
[00:26:40] stabilize the soil from any falling rocks, and God willing,
[00:26:45] the coming depressions, and God willing, it will not be exposed to any falling rocks.

[00:26:53] works recently on the road leading
[00:26:56] to the Wadi Araba area on many main roads
[00:26:59] to facilitate rainwater drainage and reduce the risks that used to result from

[00:27:10] many hot spots were identified during the last
[00:27:13] season. The staff of the Petra Public Works Directorate
[00:27:16] implemented culverts
[00:27:19] and box culverts within these hot spots
[00:27:23] to improve the efficiency of rainwater drainage
[00:27:26] and to reduce the rise in water levels in the area. We have
[00:27:30] implemented culverts in
[00:27:32] Al-Bayda area, in Nemlah area, and in Delagha area,
[00:27:35] and we will, God willing, implement some
[00:27:39] culverts in Al-Rajif area and also in Delagha area
[00:27:43] to ensure the safety of road users and to maintain
[00:27:46] the efficiency of rainwater drainage well, God willing.
