[00:02:21] Swiss-Bosnian musician Lejla Šurković came to
[00:02:24] Sarajevo where, through a performance, panel discussion,
[00:02:27] and workshops, she will talk about the experience of the second generation of diaspora
[00:02:31] in relation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the role of art in connecting people

[00:03:31] of projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina and we just started a new direction
[00:03:34] in June of this year, about which I have been talking for several
[00:03:38] years, to work with the second generation of our young people in
[00:03:41] Switzerland. On top of that, we have this
[00:03:45] project, and the initiative itself actually came from
[00:03:49] potential, for years we have focused on the embassy for Lejla to come to Sarajevo, and then we
[00:03:52] talked a year, a year and a half ago about how to
[00:03:55] make it a bit more than just a performance. It's great, but we want to try
[00:03:59] to get as much as possible out of it when... mm Lejla is here so
[00:04:02] we can really use it for as many activities
[00:04:05] as possible. We are here now, we succeeded, we have already
[00:04:09] completed two activities, tomorrow we have two more activities, so it was somehow
[00:04:13] a joint effort from the beginning. Lejla, and your
[00:04:16] music actually often talks about identity, about
[00:04:19] belonging, uh, how difficult is it today
[00:04:23] to find your own voice in the sea of

[00:06:03] the past 30 years, we have worked in numerous
[00:06:05] domains. On the development of economic
[00:06:09] solutions in the field of healthcare, culture.
[00:06:12] We have supported the Sarajevo Film Festival SFFA
[00:06:16] for 30 years, but this
[00:06:19] is a good opportunity to celebrate our 30
[00:06:22] years. We want to focus on
[00:06:25] time, on a new generation,
[00:06:28] innovation, trust. This is a project that reflects all
[00:06:32] of that.
[00:06:35] When I talk about time, it's the time that you, Lejla and your
[00:06:39] father spent in Switzerland. "Trust,

[00:07:45] summer, every year I come here for the past 25 years
[00:07:48] and I think it's the right thing to

[00:07:58] how and uh, who will have
[00:08:01] the opportunity to actually talk to the panel participants? Yes, yes,

[00:11:07] talk about potentials, because there are really many organizations and people who
[00:11:11] are already working. When we talk about potential, it's something untapped. I think
[00:11:15] there are really mm a large number
[00:11:18] of organizations besides ours that deal with the issue of diaspora and
[00:11:21] really connect mm both these... countries
[00:11:25] and generally the diaspora and Bosnia and Herzegovina. What
[00:11:28] we have been working on is that very sense of belonging.
[00:11:32] For example, in our organization, we develop, and generally in conversations with
[00:11:35] people, that feeling that you don't have to be there or here, but that
[00:11:39] you can be both there and here. And we know how exclusive we are as
[00:11:43] people, not only in the Balkans but generally, that
[00:11:46] you have to decide whether you are Swiss or Bosnian. We are really
[00:11:50] now with the second generation saying, you can be both
[00:11:53] Bosnians and Swiss. And I see a huge
[00:11:56] potential there, because for the first time we have young people, specifically in
[00:12:00] Switzerland, with whom I also cooperate, who
[00:12:03] are university educated, who want to work with Bosnia and Herzegovina and
[00:12:07] are ready to invest, so this bridge through
[00:12:10] the embassy, an example like Lejla, our organization, and
[00:12:13] the support of media like yours, really supports
[00:12:16] that and we are moving forward, because I only
[00:12:20] said when we started working in the organization that Bosnia doesn't need help
[00:12:23] but support. It is precisely through this type of projects that we support
[00:12:27] young people in Bosnia, we connect them, and then
[00:12:31] there is really room, but step by step, person by person.

[00:14:45] somewhere on the way to seriously doing what you
[00:14:49] do? Uh, how much cooperation is there on that front, do you
[00:14:52] have the opportunity to actually uh... talk,
[00:14:55] meet with them and what are their
[00:14:58] experiences, for example, on that
[00:15:00] front?
[00:15:06] As far as I know, there aren't any, but maybe I just haven't heard of
[00:15:09] them. I would like to be
[00:15:12] a person they can turn to, young people or
[00:15:16] children to ask me some
[00:15:18] questions.
[00:15:20] I am like a bridge between everything and I am always open to
[00:15:24] questions. Or if someone wants to create
[00:15:27] music, people from Switzerland and Bosnia and
[00:15:30] Herzegovina. There are many creative people I know
[00:15:34] who are from BiH, considering that, well,

[00:23:49] and Bosansko Grahovo. In Nevesinje, the air traffic control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of
[00:23:52] Srpska has also been engaged. An emergency situation was declared
[00:23:56] earlier, and in recent days two
[00:23:59] fires have been active.

[00:24:05] we are protecting the houses, and we have another fire zone nearby,

[00:24:23] the fact that the village is close to the forest. The fire near
[00:24:27] Tomislavgrad is also not under control, strong winds that intensify and change direction
[00:24:31] push the fire towards populated areas, confirmed by the local
[00:24:34] civil protection. While the raging natural disaster is unstoppable, forests,
[00:24:38] low vegetation and valuable natural resources throughout Bosnia and
[00:24:41] Herzegovina, violent fire detection systems
