[00:28:25] Pelješac. The fire is spreading rapidly due to the strong
[00:28:28] wind. The situation is serious because the fire is close to houses, and strong gusts
[00:28:32] of wind. Make extinguishing even more difficult for firefighters. On
[00:28:35] the ground are firefighters who are trying to defend residential buildings
[00:28:38] and stop the spread of the fire. Due to the situation,
[00:28:42] the state of the settlements near the fire site is being particularly monitored. Firefighters
[00:28:45] will remain on the ground, and citizens are urged to be
[00:28:49] careful and adhere to the instructions of the competent
[00:28:51] services.

[00:29:40] destructive fires, Herzegovina is burning, forests and low
[00:29:43] vegetation have been disappearing in flames for days. In the first 13
[00:29:47] days of August alone, the detection systems recorded
[00:29:50] 1,292 fire points across Bosnia and
[00:29:54] Herzegovina. The situation is particularly alarming in four main
[00:29:57] hotspots: Trebinje, Nevesinje, Konjic, and Neum. Compared to
[00:30:01] last year, the number of hotspots has tripled.
[00:30:03] After the fire that
[00:30:07] erupted in Trebinje in the first days of August subsided, new hotspots were activated
[00:30:11] in Nevesinje, Konjic, and Neum. The fire in Konjic has been raging
[00:30:14] for a week now, and currently the biggest focus is on the hotspot on Džepsko
[00:30:18] Mountain. The danger of the fire spreading is particularly concerning, exacerbated
[00:30:21] by high temperatures and wind, while the inaccessible terrain
[00:30:25] makes extinguishing difficult. Fires are still active in
[00:30:28] the villages of Brđani, Živašnica, Tanjina,
[00:30:31] Džebska. Džepi mountain fire still has
[00:30:35] a tendency to spread, its spread is favored by
[00:30:38] high daily temperatures and
[00:30:41] the wind blowing in that area. This morning
[00:30:45] we had the operation of the helicopters of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and
[00:30:48] Herzegovina, which helped extinguish the fire from
[00:30:51] the air. In the meantime, maximum efforts are being made to extinguish it from
[00:30:55] the ground, adds Hondo. The professional fire brigade of the Sarajevo
[00:30:59] Canton also provided assistance.
