[00:00:06] These are some people who do not speak the truth, of course they are afraid of the truth. I think we were removed for that because we were reaching [00:00:09] the widest segments of the audience, even [00:00:13] those who the authorities count on as sure voters, and they would laugh [00:00:17] at our show. And I think that precisely because even they would laugh, it was absolutely [00:00:20] no longer allowed to be permitted. Of course, the price, [00:00:24] the marginal, uh, commercial effect, is pure [00:00:28] bullshit, as the youth would say. [00:00:34] in Pristina, at which [00:00:46] Just one more short thing for the end: what are the main messages today, especially now [00:00:50] you said that the commercial effect is actually something that [00:00:52] is not even measurable, or rather, it is not a true measure of the value of this [00:00:56] show and everything it means to these people, [00:01:09] the good news I expect them to spread by word of mouth, from [00:01:13] house to house, from dusk till dawn, from Vardar to [00:01:16] Triglav, from heart to heart, starts [00:01:19] 24 Minutes, a show that refuses to die. [00:01:22] We start where we can for now [00:01:24] citizens and shoppers at the fair view on our YouTube channel. We treat our viewers now as our [00:01:28] producers. It depends on you. "Will you get this [00:01:31] of yours, will we preserve this of ours? Now we are in it together and I think [00:01:35] the moment will come very soon when we will [00:01:39] return to television. I would personally like to ride in on a horse [00:01:43] like Peko Dapčević once did, [00:01:45] the liberator." [00:01:49] Clearly and loudly we say, [00:01:53] thank you very much for speaking to N1, that was Zoran Kesić, author of [00:01:56] the show 24 Minutes with Zoran Kesić. [00:02:00] he said, from now on, at least for now, all those viewers who love [00:02:03] and support this show will be able to watch it on YouTube, and the plan [00:02:07] for now is to start from Nikola Pašić Square, next to [00:02:11] the National Assembly, next to the Presidency, to return here to Nikola Pašić [00:02:14] Square, symbolically from NUNS it was said that it is actually [00:02:18] a circle, a media circle that is increasingly narrowing [00:02:21] around journalism that does not want to be silent and seeks [00:02:25] the truth. Thank you Nada, you heard our Nada Živanović, and support [00:02:28] from here as well. [00:02:30] in a campaign, so it's something 24 minutes from all of us who are working [00:02:33] tonight, watch until the end of the news. [00:02:35] pogledajte. [00:02:38] Donald Trump promises $5,000 to every [00:02:42] adult American if his Republican [00:02:45] Party wins in the midterm [00:02:48] elections. [00:02:53] And before that, let's go to Pristina. [00:02:57] Prosecutors in The Hague requested that the former leader of the KLA, [00:03:00] Hashim Thaçi, be sentenced to six years [00:03:03] in prison for revealing protected witnesses and illegally [00:03:07] influencing them in an attempt to avoid conviction for war [00:03:10] crimes in another trial. On Wednesday, [00:03:13] September 16, a verdict is expected for [00:03:17] Thaçi and others for war crimes and crimes against [00:03:20] a meeting about the remediation humanity, for which the prosecutor requested [00:03:23] 45 years each. In what atmosphere is this [00:03:27] verdict awaited in Pristina, watch in the story. [00:03:30] Zanecimili. "Kosovo Awaits" is the name [00:03:33] of the campaign to support four former KLA leaders who [00:03:37] will be sentenced on September 16 [00:03:39] the fact that, because that in The Hague for war crimes. The center of [00:03:43] Pristina is decorated with KLA flags, among [00:03:46] them is a projector that counts down the days until the [00:03:49] verdict. The president of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, [00:03:53] Bedri Hamza, whose members include two of the accused, [00:03:56] Hashim Thaçi and Kadri Veseli, stated that... [00:04:00] September 16 is of great importance for his [00:04:02] party. [00:04:06] We expect an acquittal for the KLA leaders. The war of the KLA [00:04:10] people of Kosovo was a just war for freedom and independence. Based [00:04:13] on everything that unfolded, it is clear that there is no reason for the decision to be [00:04:17] different, except for an acquittal. Graffiti with messages: [00:04:20] Liberators, bring them home, are just [00:04:24] some of the inscriptions that have been seen for months on the streets of [00:04:27] Pristina as an expression of support. The accused [00:04:30] and citizens we spoke to say they expect [00:04:34] an acquittal. [00:04:35] presudu. [00:04:40] I think this is unjust and that this is a political court. I believe they will be [00:04:44] acquitted and will return to their families because they are innocent and worked [00:04:47] for their country. [00:05:00] The Oath for Justice organization, which monitors the work of judicial [00:05:03] institutions, assesses that the Hague Prosecution did not [00:05:06] succeed in proving or substantiating the indictment with any [00:05:10] evidence if one judges by what was open to [00:05:14] the public. [00:05:17] One of the main parts of Dick Marty's report, that is the alleged [00:05:21] organ trafficking, did not even become part of the indictment. We believe [00:05:24] that the Specialized Court for Kosovo was formed based on [00:05:27] claims that during the war there was organ trafficking in parts of [00:05:31] Albanian territory. Since the prosecution failed to [00:05:35] include that claim in the indictment, we can say that [00:05:38] it was a victory over the prosecution. On the eve [00:05:41] of the verdict, for Saturday a march for freedom was announced [00:05:47] a huge number of participants from all over Kosovo are [00:05:50] expected. Many well-known figures announced [00:05:54] their participation in the march, all united in the demand [00:05:57] written on one of the banners being prepared for [00:06:01] Saturday's protest. In the name of the people, declare them [00:06:04] innocent. Zana Cimidi N1, [00:06:06] Pristina. [00:06:11] $5,000 for every adult [00:06:14] American, promised last night by US President Donald Trump, [00:06:17] but only and exclusively if [00:06:20] the Republican Party wins the midterm elections in November [00:06:24] and retains control of both houses [00:06:27] of Congress. The first party convention [00:06:31] of the Republican Party for the midterm elections, that is, elections for both houses of Congress, [00:06:35] brought news that resonated even outside the borders of the United [00:06:38] States. So, if Republicans [00:06:41] win. [00:06:50] Trump was clear, Republicans would have to win, that [00:06:53] is, retain control of the Senate and the House of [00:06:57] Representatives. Money would be given to all adult citizens of America, [00:07:00] and in that promise of money [00:07:03] to everyone lies the legality of the statement, claims lawyer John [00:07:07] W. Day. I would say that this is not bribery, because here's [00:07:11] the difference. Someone comes up to you on the street and says: "Here's [00:07:14] $500, I want you to go and vote for that candidate, [00:07:18] and if I get proof that you voted for that person, then you'll get [00:07:21] the money or the rest of the money." That's a direct [00:07:24] promise in a campaign, direct bribery in a campaign, and this [00:07:28] is a public announcement that concerns everyone, and depends on the election [00:07:31] results. Others, however, question the ethics [00:07:35] of the promise, precisely because it depends on the election [00:07:38] results, perhaps it is possible to promise anything [00:07:43] that looks like vote-buying, but with about 270 million [00:07:46] adult citizens, this promise would cost Americans [00:07:50] as much as 1.350 billion dollars, which would almost [00:07:53] double the budget deficit. Trump claims that this would be [00:07:57] possible because the economy has never been better, but according [00:08:00] to a PBS survey, as many as 63% of Americans [00:08:04] say the economy is not on their side, and [00:08:07] it seems that's why the promise of $5,000 [00:08:10] is awaited. So. [00:08:12] Please, please, this is perhaps more important than Trump's [00:08:16] dividend, please, pretend that I am [00:08:20] running, and go and vote on November 3rd or [00:08:23] earlier. [00:08:26] As well as confidence in economic management, Trump's own [00:08:30] popularity is at an historical low. Republicans have [00:08:33] every chance in November of ceding control of [00:08:36] Congress to Democrats. And as for the legality of the promise itself, [00:08:40] Elon Musk was giving a million dollars [00:08:43] during Donald Trump's election campaign to alleged lucky [00:08:46] winners and has gotten away with it so far. [00:08:50] Aleksandra Gotfra, [00:08:51] N1. [00:08:55] And we have reached the forecast for what the weather will be like tomorrow, whether real [00:08:59] autumn arrives this weekend, our Sara [00:09:02] Botić knows. After a long period of drought and very high [00:09:06] temperatures, a change in weather is now coming. We expect [00:09:09] rain, local downpours on Friday, and from Saturday, [00:09:12] a significant drop in temperature will make it about 10 [00:09:15] degrees colder. This fresher and moister air is arriving from the west and [00:09:19] northwest, and it will break the period of stable, very warm [00:09:22] weather. The precipitation zone will move across Serbia [00:09:26] on Friday and Saturday, and then a noticeable drop in [00:09:29] temperature is expected. On Friday, it will be partly cloudy, and in the second [00:09:33] half of the day we expect rain, local downpours with thunderstorms, [00:09:37] first in the western and northern, and then in the central and [00:09:41] southern regions. The minimum temperature tonight will range [00:09:44] from 13 to 19 degrees, while [00:09:48] during the day there will be a large difference in temperature between the north and [00:09:51] south, with the highest temperature in the north around 25, while in [00:09:55] southeastern Serbia it will be significantly warmer, tropical temperatures [00:09:58] up to a maximum of 37 [00:10:01] degrees. On Saturday morning, the precipitation zone [00:10:04] will cover other regions, the cessation of precipitation will follow in [00:10:07] the north, and at the same time a noticeable cooling will arrive, so that [00:10:11] then for the weekend, the temperature will be from 23 to [00:10:14] 27 degrees, on Sunday at the beginning of next [00:10:18] week, rain is mostly expected only in hilly and mountainous [00:10:22] areas. You watched the daily news. Continue [00:10:25] to follow our content tonight on [00:10:28] n1info.rs. With you in the 10 o'clock [00:10:32] news tonight will be our Milan Šarić. Stay with N1. [00:11:04] Dear viewers, warm greetings. I am Maja Štrbac, you are watching [00:11:08] the review of the day. Here is what [00:11:09] we highlight. [00:11:13] The government still has a solution for part of the waste in Gospić. 650 [00:11:16] tons of non-hazardous waste will still be removed without a new [00:11:20] tender. Two domestic cement factories will take it over. [00:11:23] Initiatives ask: If it was possible, why did [00:11:26] they wait? [00:11:29] Since Croatia is the only member of the European Union without waste [00:11:33] incinerators, in Zagreb they want an energy plant, and the HDZ says [00:11:36] Croatian companies are building incinerators all over Europe, if we can do it for [00:11:40] the whole world, we can do it for ourselves. [00:11:44] The government today presented the 11th package of aid measures for citizens and [00:11:47] the economy, weighing 260 million euros, [00:11:51] it includes electricity and gas prices and [00:11:54] vouchers for the vulnerable. A fixed price is introduced for [00:11:57] services. [00:12:00] In the first eight months of this year, Croatia achieved a slight growth [00:12:04] in tourist traffic, but guests still stay shorter and [00:12:07] spend more cautiously. [00:12:23] After a year and a half of waiting, the government has found a solution for part of the waste in [00:12:27] Gospić. 650 tons of non-hazardous waste will still be [00:12:31] removed without a new tender. Two domestic cement [00:12:34] factories will take it over, and the remediation should be completed within [00:12:38] 45 days. However, Gospić still faces a much larger [00:12:41] problem: 33,000 tons of buried waste for which [00:12:45] it is still unknown when it will be removed. Why did the remediation [00:12:49] wait a year and a half, and is the government's plan really a solution [00:12:52] or just a new beginning? Katarina Plantak [00:12:55] has the answers. Remediation is urgent now. After [00:12:59] a year and a half of waiting and two failed public procurements, after the [00:13:03] Tabak group abandoned the remediation, the government is now moving to [00:13:06] Plan B. For 650 tons of waste from large bags in Gospić, [00:13:10] no new tender will be announced. After the [00:13:13] fund annulled the decision [00:13:17] on the selection of bidders, we reacted swiftly [00:13:21] and simultaneously and arranged that two domestic cement factories, [00:13:25] besides Hrvatska and Nexe, with whom we held talks [00:13:28] these days, uh, will be the ones who [00:13:32] will carry out this procedure, at a total [00:13:35] value of up to 357,500 [00:13:39] euros. The waste from Gospić should be removed within [00:13:42] 45 days. In the initiative "Gospić Our Home", [00:13:46] they ask why such a solution was waited [00:13:49] for so long. From the beginning, we actually in a way [00:13:52] warned about urgent situations, that such [00:13:55] solutions should be implemented much earlier, we even [00:13:59] last year proposed that this dangerous part of the waste [00:14:02] should be urgently covered, so that in a way everything [00:14:06] that the government is doing now is confirmation that we were [00:14:10] uh, on uh, this were right with [00:14:14] all our proposals. The opposition asks the same question: to say [00:14:17] that this is a lightning-fast reaction is, to say the least, [00:14:20] ridiculous. This is just proof that the Croatian government has absolutely [00:14:24] no plan for remediation, that they are still not coping, that this is [00:14:28] wandering and remediation of political damage. [00:14:32] If cement factories will handle this waste, they must explain to Croatian [00:14:35] citizens what kind of waste they [00:14:39] can handle at all. From Holcim, which [00:14:42] takes over half of the waste, they say it is [00:14:45] about 300 tons of non-hazardous waste that will be [00:14:48] utilized as part of regular cement production. The material that [00:14:52] will be taken over does not differ in its properties from the fuel [00:14:56] from waste that Holcim uses in everyday cement production, [00:15:00] it does not pose any danger to employees or the local [00:15:03] community, emissions will remain below the limit [00:15:07] values. The government also announces the establishment of an expert team that should [00:15:10] explain to the public expert opinions, findings and reports [00:15:14] on the consequences of pollution. The opposition [00:15:16] responds that the findings published by USKOK are already clear [00:15:20] enough. We have USKOK's expert opinion [00:15:22] and now Plenković is looking, pay attention. people and puts [00:15:26] pressure on those who are experts in these [00:15:29] cases, to speak publicly and explain something, if these are [00:15:33] expert opinions, they are quite clear, certain [00:15:36] harmful substances have been found in groundwater and soil, no [00:15:40] great intelligence is needed there, so one needs to know if these substances are [00:15:44] harmful or not harmful to people. 650 tons of [00:15:47] bagged waste is only a small part of the problem, the largest and still [00:15:51] unresolved part of the remediation is 33,000 tons of [00:15:54] buried waste. Its removal began on Tuesday and [00:15:58] will last 15 days, and companies from France, [00:16:01] Belgium, Greece, Hungary and Croatia have expressed interest. At the same time, [00:16:05] preparations are being made to cover the buried waste to reduce the risk [00:16:09] of further pollution. We cannot at this moment confidently [00:16:12] promise that we will fully [00:16:15] remove and dispose of the buried waste in [00:16:19] Gospić within three months. My latest information is that there were no [00:16:22] complaints, and I expect that the buried waste [00:16:26] will be covered as soon as possible. After a year and a half, it seems [00:16:29] that Gospić will finally see the first trucks that will [00:16:33] take away the waste, but there is still no answer to the question of when [00:16:36] the last one will leave. Katarina Plantak, N1, [00:16:40] Zagreb. [00:16:43] Thousands of tons of illegally buried waste, microplastics [00:16:46] spreading through the surrounding karst area, the well-known Benkovački fair [00:16:49] just a few hundred meters away. [00:16:53] Expert assessment showed that pollution has already occurred, and [00:16:56] experts warn that urgent remediation is needed. How do [00:17:02] all this, what does the mayor say, and when could [00:17:04] the waste finally be removed? Kordić checked. [00:17:11] At this location in Benkovac village, an expert assessment [00:17:14] determined that 6,427 [00:17:16] tons of waste were illegally [00:17:20] buried. Among the construction material, plastic, [00:17:24] rubber, as well as textile were found. However, what is particularly concerning is that [00:17:27] microplastics were found, and their particles were found [00:17:31] around the site within 20 to 30 [00:17:34] meters. What experts believe is that the [00:17:38] contamination has already occurred and that urgent remediation and [00:17:41] removal are needed for further spread. Just [00:17:44] a few hundred meters from the discovered illegal [00:17:47] waste dump, the Benkovački fair is taking place, so we checked [00:17:51] with buyers and sellers what they say about the whole [00:17:54] situation. I think it's terrible and it needs to be solved, removed and [00:17:58] I think that's it. There is certainly waste everywhere. So far, [00:18:02] little care has been given to it. Now the time has [00:18:06] come to really solve it. put an end to it and I think that's it, very [00:18:09] ugly, what can I say, do you think it should be [00:18:12] remediated, of course, it will poison us all, ok, [00:18:16] shame, I fought for this country, this is destroying it, [00:18:19] this, horror, horror, horror, you can't [00:18:23] do this, no, I have no comment, what do they say [00:18:26] in the city, Mayor Bulić, the results of the [00:18:30] expert assessment did not surprise, given that it is [00:18:32] dangerous waste, we could have expected that, so... [00:18:36] Here we are where we are, we need to do what we need [00:18:39] to do, the remediation plan is underway, that is, the preparation [00:18:42] of the remediation plan, next week we should have a meeting with [00:18:46] the prefect, that is, the county relevant minister on this [00:18:49] topic of remediation, to adopt a program and a [00:18:53] work plan. All involved in this story will meet urgently soon at [00:18:58] plan. It is planned that the remediation will start at the beginning of next [00:19:01] year. Vesela Šegvić Gordić, N1 [00:19:05] Benkovac. [00:19:07] Croatia does not know what to do with waste that it no longer has anywhere to dispose of, and [00:19:11] at the same time, for decades, it has known what it does not want: [00:19:14] incinerators. While Europe has more than 500 of them, Croatia is the only [00:19:18] member of the European Union without one. Now, after the waste scandal in [00:19:22] Gospić, the question of energy plants again comes to the fore. Would politicians [00:19:25] accept them in their own neighborhood, where do they plan to [00:19:29] build them, can Croatia at the same time, increase [00:19:32] recycling and burn what can no longer be used? [00:19:36] Hananna has the answers. [00:19:39] After the problems with improperly disposed waste in Gospić, [00:19:42] the question is no longer whether Croatia can avoid thermal waste [00:19:46] treatment, but where it will carry it out. Croatia is the only [00:19:49] member of the European Union without waste incinerators, while the [00:19:52] rest of the Union has more than 530. Landfills [00:19:56] have a limited lifespan, European rules require less [00:20:00] and less landfilling of waste that can be dealt with [00:20:02] differently. If all member states of the European [00:20:06] Union have incinerators, that is, Malta is now building one, [00:20:09] if there are 500 in the European Union, 400 non-hazardous and [00:20:13] 100 hazardous waste, are we [00:20:16] the smartest or is there some other [00:20:19] issue at hand? It is very [00:20:23] important when building incinerators to say that Croatian [00:20:26] companies are today building incinerators across [00:20:29] Europe, from Iceland to us, Belgium, [00:20:33] Scotland, Iceland and so on. [00:20:37] If we can do that for the whole world, I think we [00:20:40] should do it here. In such [00:20:44] facilities, waste is incinerated, and the generated energy [00:20:47] is used for electricity and heating. Incinerators are not [00:20:51] a substitute for recycling, but a way to dispose of part of [00:20:54] the waste that remains after that. Their construction in [00:20:57] Croatia has faced resistance for years. Citizens are concerned about [00:21:01] emissions, impact on health and the environment, and the disposal of [00:21:04] residues after incineration. The Minister [00:21:07] of Environmental Protection says that at this moment she does not see a way to achieve [00:21:11] the set goals without energy plants, which she [00:21:15] says are an important penultimate part of waste management. [00:21:19] Would I accept an energy plant [00:21:22] in my neighborhood, if the environmental impact assessment [00:21:25] showed that it is acceptable, if [00:21:29] the conditions from the permits are regularly controlled, i.e., [00:21:32] the conditions from the impact assessment and from the construction permit, from [00:21:35] the operating permit, from the environmental permit that such [00:21:39] facilities will have to have, of course [00:21:42] the supervisory system must function completely, so [00:21:46] there is no reason not to have an energy plant in your neighborhood. [00:21:50] That's not the question, I told you that at the beginning, why? Because if we [00:21:53] don't have a control system, if dangerous waste could be [00:21:57] brought into Croatia without anyone noticing or taking any [00:22:00] action, how will we know what is being burned in those [00:22:04] incinerators, where it is coming from, what the byproduct [00:22:07] of that burning is, where that byproduct of that burning [00:22:11] ends up? So if you don't have a system, this is [00:22:14] a question of the non-functioning system and corrupt [00:22:18] people in key positions. Not this or that [00:22:21] model, and if we are going to talk about the model, I [00:22:25] am not sure, if we want to meet all the goals, that is [00:22:28] set before us by the European Commission in terms of waste [00:22:32] separation, how that aligns with incinerators. [00:22:36] Interest in building such facilities has been shown by [00:22:39] Šibenik, Osijek and Rijeka, and Zagreb [00:22:42] is also considering building an energy plant. The profitability projection was made [00:22:45] back in 2024. The study showed that such [00:22:49] facilities are profitable. The city SDP [00:22:53] still advocates for the construction of [00:22:55] an energy plant, let's not call it an incinerator, [00:22:59] because it is an energy plant that [00:23:02] would burn fuel from waste and thereby [00:23:06] create thermal energy. [00:23:09] In fact, the city assembly already in 2024 [00:23:11] adopted a conclusion by which it started [00:23:14] the preparation [00:23:17] of the documentation for the [00:23:20] construction of the energy plant. It started, but also realized. If [00:23:24] incinerators become part of Croatia's waste [00:23:27] solution, the question remains whether the need for waste disposal [00:23:30] will outweigh the resistance to incinerators. [00:23:34] Hana Anannić, N1, [00:23:36] Zagreb. Professor at the Faculty of [00:23:39] Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Zagreb and former Minister of [00:23:43] Environmental Protection and Energy, Slaven Dobrović, [00:23:46] stated in a guest appearance on New Day that the system has been managed for years [00:23:50] transparently and according to particular interests. [00:23:53] He says that as minister he encountered strong resistance when adopting [00:23:57] the waste management plan, and that he even had to personally [00:24:00] intervene with the then Minister of Economy, Martina [00:24:03] Dalić, so that the plan could even be put into procedure. According to him, [00:24:07] interest groups associated with waste [00:24:10] management were strongly organized, and [00:24:13] he particularly opposed pressure when he [00:24:16] proposed reducing the capacity or abolishing certain [00:24:20] waste management [00:24:21] centers. [00:24:25] It's incredible what kind of resistance I encountered, from [00:24:29] group operating in Siena is permeated, interwoven [00:24:33] into all spheres of governance, you have [00:24:36] people in the fund, especially in the ministry, they have [00:24:40] their own groups, groups in HGH, a group of [00:24:43] waste management centers, look, as if that's [00:24:47] something particularly valuable. "These are centers for [00:24:51] waste treatment with no prospects for [00:24:53] success, and what, when you realized that people from Siena [00:24:57] were in the structures, well nothing, I [00:25:00] used all my strength, for example, what [00:25:03] officials of the faculty normally resolve, I [00:25:07] pardon, of the ministry, I myself, as [00:25:10] minister, had to go to the cabinet of the government to [00:25:14] Minister Dalić, to convince her to let it go, because she didn't want to [00:25:18] let it go a couple of times, what was it?" [00:25:20] "She didn't want to let the plan go into procedure, aha, okay, then [00:25:24] I came and said that it was why? Because [00:25:27] the clientele is extremely well organized and they acted on all [00:25:31] sides. [00:25:36] So, the prefects, especially of these southern counties, [00:25:40] mostly HDZ all of them, so they were [00:25:43] particularly interested, and when I announced that we would [00:25:47] reduce the capacity of the centers, some of them... It was [00:25:51] as if I told them, come on, we have to cut off an arm, a leg, [00:25:54] I don't know what. With the amendments to the Sustainable [00:25:58] Waste Management Act from 2019, the obligation [00:26:01] to inform the inspections three working days in advance [00:26:04] about planned waste shipments was abolished, while the new Waste Management Act [00:26:08] from 2021 [00:26:10] abolished a special register of waste importers and exporters [00:26:14] that is not subject to [00:26:17] notification procedure. At that time, the Minister of Environmental Protection and [00:26:21] Energy was Tomislav Ćorić, and [00:26:23] in 2021, when a new Waste Management Law was [00:26:27] adopted, he was the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development. [00:26:31] The Ministry has already reacted to the accusations of a part of the opposition and environmental [00:26:35] protection associations that accuse the government of weakening [00:26:38] the supervision over the import and movement of waste with these changes, and now Minister [00:26:42] Ćorić himself shared his [00:26:44] thoughts. [00:26:47] Well, it wasn't a mistake, at that time, you had [00:26:51] the opportunity to hear the relevant ministry on that [00:26:53] topic, the competent services have [00:26:57] reacted to the fact that we have introduced the so-called e-waste [00:27:01] in the meantime, primarily to further relieve [00:27:04] the economy, the system does not rely on [00:27:08] whether someone will report or not report the arrival of a shipment [00:27:12] three days before, namely, the new digital system that was [00:27:15] introduced a little earlier, more precisely, [00:27:19] more thorough, more detailed than the one that existed in the earlier [00:27:22] phase in that context, looking for reasons why [00:27:25] someone is involved in crime is completely [00:27:28] wrong, it is completely clear to me. It is also clear [00:27:32] that some stakeholders in the Croatian political space want to [00:27:36] exploit situations like the one we are in [00:27:39] in every possible way, however, it [00:27:42] is actually bizarre to even refer to [00:27:46] that provision, or to that amendment to the law. [00:27:49] I will just remind you once again of one more [00:27:53] important thing, and that is that those amendments to the law passed the procedures in [00:27:57] the Croatian Parliament, and that not a single representative in [00:28:00] the Croatian Parliament and no one during the public consultation [00:28:03] even commented on that administrative relief that was then [00:28:07] planned and actually implemented within that provision. [00:28:24] One more person died from severe injuries [00:28:27] sustained in the catastrophic fire in the Omiš area. [00:28:31] Thus, the number of victims due to the fire rose to three. The fire [00:28:34] broke out on August 13 in the forest area near Lokva Rogoznica, [00:28:38] due to strong winds, the fire spread rapidly towards [00:28:42] Omiš. The fire affected an area about 23 [00:28:45] km long, and approximately 100 hectares burned. The first [00:28:49] victim was a 34-year-old citizen of Bosnia and [00:28:52] Herzegovina. At the end of August, a 79-year-old man [00:28:56] who was treated at KBC Split died [00:28:58] from severe injuries. And from Zagreb, [00:29:02] KBC said that the health condition of three [00:29:05] patients is still severe, one is in the most critical condition and [00:29:09] requires mechanical ventilation, medications to maintain blood pressure, and [00:29:12] dialysis, while the others also depend on a respirator, and one [00:29:16] has shown improvement as he occasionally breathes spontaneously with [00:29:20] antibiotic therapy and regular surgical procedures to remove [00:29:24] dead tissue every two to three [00:29:26] days. [00:29:28] The femicide case in Slatina once again raised the question of [00:29:31] the effectiveness of the system for protecting women [00:29:34] from violence, especially when victims previously report threats or [00:29:38] violence. A woman was killed on the evening of September 8 in [00:29:41] her family home, and the police suspected a 40-year-old man [00:29:44] of aggravated murder, i.e., femicide, whom they found [00:29:47] at the scene of the incident. Now it is being investigated [00:29:51] whether the woman had previously called the police and, if so, how the Slatina [00:29:54] police station reacted to her call. The Ministry of [00:29:58] Interior is checking all circumstances of the police's actions, [00:30:02] in response to the question of whether the tragedy could have been prevented, [00:30:05] it is still being determined. [00:30:09] Yes, the supervision will be completed in the next day or [00:30:13] two, after which the police [00:30:16] directorate will report on all established facts [00:30:20] and answer the public's questions. [00:30:24] I assume [00:30:27] you are aware that for years we have [00:30:30] been making great efforts in the fight against violence [00:30:34] against women, continuous education is being [00:30:38] conducted for police officers, [00:30:41] expert analyses, cooperation with [00:30:45] other competent institutions is being improved, [00:30:48] because we know in such situations [00:30:51] every assessment and every decision [00:30:55] can be of crucial importance, that's [00:30:58] why
