[00:00:53] more football stories, information that Serbian [00:00:57] end of the season with Swiss giant Basel. [00:01:06] and France in the final of the European Championship for volleyball players. [00:01:10] Russell, fastest in Baku, Antonelli ended up in the fence before the race for [00:01:13] the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. [00:01:16] Magic in Turkey, a three-pointer for the win from across the [00:01:19] court. [00:01:23] You are watching Sport Club news, probably the biggest scandal in the history [00:01:27] of the Premier League. Manchester City was found guilty, especially on all [00:01:30] counts of the indictment relating to violations of financial regulations [00:01:34] lowered himself to of the English League. [00:01:37] After a months-long investigation and process that began with official accusations [00:01:41] in February 2023, [00:01:43] an independent commission ruled that the English giant was guilty of as many as [00:01:47] 114 out of a total of 115 counts in the indictment. Official sanctions for [00:01:51] the club from Etihad have not yet been issued, but the spectrum [00:01:54] of potential penalties is extremely wide and rigorous. According to the Premier League [00:01:57] rulebook, City faces huge penalties, warnings, [00:02:01] points deduction in the current season or [00:02:03] retroactively, revocation of previously won trophies, all the way to [00:02:07] the most drastic measure of expulsion from the elite tier of English football. [00:02:10] Manchester City is expected to immediately appeal this decision, and the club [00:02:14] issued a brief statement highlighting that the process is still [00:02:18] ongoing and that they stand by their position from 2023, [00:02:21] emphasizing that they followed the procedure. The investigation against [00:02:25] Manchester City was launched after the German magazine Der Spiegel [00:02:29] published financial documents at the end of 2018. [00:02:32] The Premier League management then accused the club of concealing [00:02:35] accurate financial information, irregularities regarding payments to players and [00:02:39] coaches, and violating financial fair play rules and [00:02:43] sustainability during the period from [00:02:44] that? Well, I repeat what 2009 to 2018. During that period, under [00:02:48] the ownership of Sheikh Mansour and his Abu Dhabi United Group, [00:02:52] City won three English league titles, two FA Cups, and four [00:02:56] League Cups. Let's remember, UEFA had already imposed a two-year [00:03:00] suspension on City from European competitions in 2020, but that decision was later [00:03:03] overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. This historic ruling comes at a [00:03:07] time when Manchester City perfectly opened the new season under [00:03:10] the leadership of the new manager Enzo Maresca, who succeeded Pep [00:03:14] Guardiola on the bench. [00:03:18] One piece of news from the European Volleyball Championship is that the finalists for the European Championship title [00:03:22] have been determined, Poland and France will compete. Poland qualified [00:03:25] for the final after defeating the Slovenian national team [00:03:30] 3-0. It wasn't as smooth as the result [00:03:33] suggests, it was 25-23, 25-23, a bit easier in [00:03:37] the third set, 25-18. The current [00:03:39] European champions reached the final for the eighth time in history and secured their [00:03:43] 11th medal in European championships. On the other hand, [00:03:46] the Slovenians, who won bronze at the previous European championship, will have the opportunity to repeat their success [00:03:49] and secure their fifth medal in European championships. This year, they won [00:03:53] a historic bronze in the Nations League. Poland will play for European gold [00:03:56] against France, which defeated Finland 3-1. [00:04:00] the most pleasant surprise of the tournament, for the French it is the first final since [00:04:03] 2015 when they won their only European [00:04:07] title. [00:04:10] Now in Formula 1, Briton George Russell secured the best [00:04:14] starting position in qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Friday, while [00:04:17] his Mercedes teammate and general classification leader Kimi Antonelli [00:04:21] went off track and hit the barrier. [00:04:25] protective fence. [00:04:27] Mercedes driver George Russell took pole position ahead of the Azerbaijan [00:04:31] Grand Prix, the 16th race of the Formula 1 season. [00:04:34] The Briton demonstrated his dominance on the streets of Baku, where he secured [00:04:38] the best starting position with a lap of one hour and 42 [00:04:42] minutes, 837 thousandths of a second ahead of [00:04:45] Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari. Within one second of Russell was only [00:04:49] McLaren driver Oscar Piastri, who was just a thousandth of a second behind [00:04:53] the Monegasque. The qualification was also marked by a big mistake by the general classification leader [00:04:57] Kimi Antonelli, who hit the protective barrier in the first [00:05:01] corner and thus ended the fight for pole position. The young Italian will [00:05:04] start from the 16th position in Saturday's race, as he had [00:05:08] a good enough lap to qualify for the second part, but the damage was [00:05:11] too serious to return to the track. The best among [00:05:15] the rest was Isaac Hadjar from Red Bull. The reigning [00:05:18] champion Lando Norris took only fifth place ahead of Lewis Hamilton in [00:05:22] Ferrari, Alpine driver Pierre Gasly, and four-time world [00:05:26] champion. The reigning champion Londonoris took fifth place [00:05:30] ahead of Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari. The top 10 [00:05:32] was completed by Carlos Sainz Juniors from Williams and the second Alpine [00:05:36] driver Franco Colapinto. The Azerbaijan [00:05:38] Grand Prix starts on Saturday at 13:00. It was moved [00:05:42] from the standard race day, Sunday, due to Memorial Day, which [00:05:46] is celebrated on September [00:05:48] 27. [00:05:51] We started the news with basketball, and we are finishing with basketball, three more [00:05:55] interesting stories follow. LeBron James left [00:05:58] the Lakers, that's not the only big change the team is [00:06:02] facing before the new season. General Manager Rob Pelinka and [00:06:06] coach JJ Redick held a press conference and spoke about [00:06:09] various topics, including building a championship... [00:08:10] we stay on American soil and related to NBA [00:08:13] sad... news, legendary basketball player Bob Petit [00:08:17] died at 94 years old. [00:08:20] Bob Petit, the first recipient of the Most Valuable Player [00:08:24] (MVP) award in NBA league history, died at 93 [00:08:27] years old, announced the Basketball Hall of Fame, into which he was inducted in [00:08:31] 1971. The Basketball Hall of Fame described this basketball player as [00:08:35] a giant of the game. He was the first recipient of the MVP award introduced [00:08:39] in 1956. And he won that award [00:08:43] a second time in 1959. [00:08:46] Petit led the St. Louis Hawks to the NBA [00:08:50] Championship title with a victory over Boston in 1958, when he scored [00:08:54] 50 points in the decisive sixth game of the [00:08:57] series, which ended 110-109. [00:09:00] The American basketball player, 2.06 meters tall, also became [00:09:04] the first player in NBA league history to surpass the 20,000 [00:09:07] point mark. He concluded his career with a total of 20, [00:09:10] 880 [00:09:12] points. He was the league's top scorer twice, [00:09:16] and achieved his best average in the 1961-62 [00:09:18] season, when he scored [00:09:21] 31.1 points per [00:09:23] game. We will conclude, however, on [00:09:27] a positive note. The play of the day [00:09:30] comes from Turkey. Tofas was losing by [00:09:33] two points in their home court to Bordo [00:09:36] Bandirma. The visiting player missed a free throw. Saiber [00:09:39] caught the ball and managed to make a shot from across the court in the last 8 seconds of the game, [00:09:43] scoring for a great celebration. First round, first game, [00:09:46] and a move that will probably mark the entire [00:09:50] season. Saiber for the win from across the [00:09:53] court. [00:10:01] One piece of news from handball, the women's national team of Serbia lost convincingly [00:10:05] to Croatia 28 to 15 in the second round of the handball [00:10:08] tournament in Macedonia. More details on the Sport [00:10:11] Club website, I think we just... at the end, we remind you of the event of the day. [00:10:14] Partizan defeated Olimpia in Milan at the start of the new Euroleague [00:10:17] season. [00:10:19] The day after the loss to Greece in the Nations League, analysis by Sport Club, [00:10:23] what went wrong and how to fix [00:10:25] things. [00:10:27] Manchester City guilty on almost all counts of the indictment, facing [00:11:45] of Holding and Zeta, unions are demanding higher wages and better material rights. The management [00:11:49] replies. We have offered workers the maximum new [00:11:52] increase. Will an agreement still be reached? Or will the [00:11:55] city be without numerous services on Monday, [00:11:59] including public transport, the mayor's [00:12:01] message to the [00:12:03] strikers. [00:12:05] pay for such a strike. [00:12:09] Everyone has an opinion, the presentation of the solution for the new Maksimir stadium [00:12:13] caused an avalanche of reactions, some praise it, some don't even want to hear [00:12:16] about such a solution, social [00:12:18] networks are burning. [00:12:22] Verdict for the murderer from Drniš, Kristijan Aleksić. 10 years [00:12:25] in prison for the aggravated murder of 19-year-old high school graduate Luka [00:12:29] Milovac. [00:12:33] Stormy in New York during Benjamin Netanyahu's speech before the UN [00:12:36] General Assembly, part of the delegations left [00:12:38] the hall, the Israeli prime minister retaliated with sharp messages, [00:12:42] protests against Israeli policy in [00:12:46] Gaza [00:12:47] were held in front of the UN headquarters. [00:13:02] After unsuccessful talks with the City of Zagreb and the managements of Zeta and [00:13:05] Zagreb Holding, workers are going on strike. They demanded a [00:13:09] 19% increase in the basic wage and a new collective [00:13:12] agreement, while the city states that such an increase would be [00:13:15] financially irresponsible. What will the strike mean for the daily lives [00:13:19] of Zagreb residents, how long could it last and who is responsible for its [00:13:23] escalation? Victoria Kri brings us more. [00:13:27] On Monday at 3:30 AM, some services that [00:13:30] hundreds of thousands of people depend on daily will stop. [00:13:35] There will be a disruption in public transport, but the consequences could [00:13:38] also be felt by users of other city services. We apologize in some [00:13:42] way to the citizens of Zagreb for these situations, however, the absolute responsibility for [00:13:46] this situation lies with the management of Zagreb Electric Tram and the management of [00:13:49] Zagreb Holding. The strike is a consequence of months-long but unsuccessful [00:13:53] negotiations between the unions and the managements of Holding, Zeta, and the City of Zagreb. [00:13:57] The city offered a 14% increase in the basic wage for the next 12 [00:14:00] months, which the unions did not accept. However, not [00:14:04] everything will stop, some workers will have to ensure jobs that are considered [00:14:08] essential. Emphasize that arbitration on the essential part [00:14:11] is not over, so we in Zagreb [00:14:15] Holding will perform that essential part that is [00:14:18] needed, that is what what we must do, hospitals, kindergartens, [00:14:22] schools, nursing homes, and all the rest. For the strike. 75% [00:14:25] of the workers of Zagreb Holding voted, and [00:14:28] 78% of the workers of Zeta. The unions state that [00:14:32] about 20% of the workers are on sick leave, it seems that almost everyone on [00:14:35] Monday will not work. What will happen is what, unfortunately, [00:14:39] will happen. Everything could have been avoided in time, if there had been will and desire. [00:14:42] There was time, four months. Now, a week [00:14:46] ago, our mayor decided to throw out some [00:14:49] spins about some salaries, pay [00:14:52] slips. By doing so, he put a target on... the workers, because now [00:14:56] it's happening that workers are calling, that people, the passengers [00:14:59] they transport, are targets of attacks from those same [00:15:02] passengers, because with such salaries, it led to this. In order for the [00:15:05] strike to be legal, essential jobs were defined. The employer proposed [00:15:09] what percentage of workers must work, and the unions did not [00:15:13] send a counter-proposal, according to the city. Mayor [00:15:16] Tomašević is sharp. Given such irresponsibility, not [00:15:20] about the strike, but about the way the strike [00:15:23] is being conducted. "We do not intend to pay for such a strike," [00:15:27] that means that [00:15:30] we call on workers to check with their unions whether [00:15:34] they will pay them for the days they spend on strike." From the city assembly, [00:15:38] there is a call for negotiations to continue. [00:15:41] Assembly President Matej Mišić warns that the long-term increase [00:15:45] in the cost of city services could end up on citizens' [00:15:48] bills. We want sustainability [00:15:51] of utility services and that the burden of the cost of [00:15:55] utility services does not spill over to citizens. [00:15:58] The spilling over of uh prices to citizens would mean an increase in [00:16:02] bills, so here, I'll give an example, the price [00:16:05] of waste collection to... citizens, which we absolutely [00:16:09] want to avoid, and what citizens will feel already on [00:16:13] Monday is difficult movement around the city, due to a smaller number [00:16:16] of drivers, larger crowds and delays are expected, [00:16:20] most passengers will have to find an alternative, not [00:16:23] citizens who don't have to go to the city, that of course they don't [00:16:26] do that, that those who have to [00:16:30] go, plan more time for travel, because [00:16:33] we expect significantly increased crowds, because citizens will [00:16:37] use personal cars more than usual, so I expect then [00:16:41] significantly larger crowds, we call on citizens who can [00:16:44] to not be one, one, [00:16:47] one person in a car, if they are already driving [00:16:50] cars, but to be several, he says that they are always [00:16:54] open for discussion, but that this is a union ultimatum. On the [00:16:58] other hand, unions warn, the strike will last until an [00:17:01] agreement is reached. Victoria Kristić, [00:17:03] N1. [00:17:07] And now Mr. Dražen Jović, president of the Trade Union of Transport [00:17:11] and Communal Services of Croatia, has joined me in the studio. Mr. [00:17:13] Jović, welcome to the daily review. Good day, warm greetings to you and your [00:17:17] viewers. So, we heard the report, [00:17:20] we heard your side, that is, the side of the unions, we heard what [00:17:24] the other side says, that is, the management of Holding and [00:17:27] the city. Mayor Tomašević claims that the salaries [00:17:30] of Zeta employees have risen significantly in recent years [00:17:33] and that your current demands are, as he said, somewhat [00:17:37] surprising even. So, the [00:17:40] management offers a 4.5% increase in the basic wage and [00:17:43] automatic adjustment for inflation, we know that. Why [00:17:46] is that not enough for you, and what must be offered to [00:17:50] postpone the strike, or cancel it? Well, [00:17:54] honestly, it's increasingly sad and lamentable to listen to the press [00:17:58] conferences of Mayor Tomašević, because, you see, we [00:18:01] learn something new every time. First, we [00:18:03] learned last time he had a press conference that he was surprised [00:18:07] that there were problems, that collective negotiations were opening with our [00:18:11] proposals, even though collective negotiations in Zagreb [00:18:15] Electric Tram started on June 1st and in Zagreb [00:18:18] Holding on July 1st. That's almost three or four full [00:18:21] months ago. After two months of negotiations, we received [00:18:25] feedback from the employer's negotiating committee that they had to consult someone in [00:18:28] the city for every proposal we made. We assume that was [00:18:32] Mayor Tomašević. After three or four months, we are now hearing that someone... is surprised [00:18:36] by the whole story. Today, we heard [00:18:39] another completely unbelievable piece of information, now we [00:18:43] have already reached 14%. Now Mayor Tomašević [00:18:47] is talking about what happened since the New Year, that salaries went up by [00:18:50] 4.4% since the New Year, but we are not in a dispute here about the old [00:18:54] collective agreement or any rights, we are here in a dispute about concluding a new [00:18:58] collective agreement. The new collective agreement, in [00:19:01] essence, the old collective agreement in Zeta expired on [00:19:05] March 31st. In Zagreb Holding, it expired on [00:19:08] May 15th, which is almost five or six [00:19:10] months ago. Today we hear that they are referring to the old collective agreement, [00:19:14] to the current one, meaning 4.4%, yes, their first proposal today, [00:19:18] preparing for this show, was the first time they put forward a proposal for a 3% [00:19:22] increase in Zagreb Electric Tramway on [00:19:24] September 7th. So, about twenty [00:19:28] days ago. What I want to tell you is, today we already heard that he [00:19:31] foresees that it might go up by 4.5% from the New Year. So, [00:19:35] we have now heard what it was, it was 4.5%, what [00:19:39] was proposed, 4.5%, or what it will be from the New Year, [00:19:43] 4.5%. I think, if Mayor Tomašević holds a [00:19:46] press conference today, tomorrow, or Sunday, we will find out that it was even 20%. What [00:19:50] the unions demanded from the beginning, that is, [00:19:53] discussions on a collective agreement that would last two or three years, [00:19:56] all these rights or some things that were postponed in previous [00:20:00] collective negotiations or in the one before that, for example, external [00:20:03] transport, we know what the situation is with fuel prices. [00:20:07] "We know that a large number of our workers travel outside Zagreb, from Krapina, from [00:20:11] Sisak-Moslavina County. After [00:20:14] every negotiation, it was, previous ones, 'we'll solve it next [00:20:17] time,' loyalty bonus to the employer, complexity [00:20:20] groups, meaning these are all some proposals about which [00:20:24] we were ready to talk, when I say 'were ready to talk', yes, we presented our [00:20:28] proposals, among them, of course, is the basic salary, but we were [00:20:31] ready to talk, are these the amounts that we [00:20:34] proposed, we could talk about implementation, [00:20:38] whether something will be from September 1st, from the new year, or eventually during [00:20:41] next year, and we were ready to talk about that, however, the whole [00:20:45] time we encountered, already in a [00:20:47] later stage of negotiations, 'take it or leave it'. Of course, when the [00:20:51] negotiations started reconciliation, the same continued, and in the end we came to where [00:20:55] we are, meaning you didn't even get to discuss [00:20:59] certain figures, that is, the amounts of what you want, but the mayor [00:21:02] says that you were the ones who abruptly left the talks, well, [00:21:06] look, I mean, the mayor wasn't even at any meeting, meaning [00:21:10] the mayor speaks through his negotiating committee [00:21:13] members, I think it would be reasonable and acceptable [00:21:16] for the mayor to have called the unions, to have tried to talk to [00:21:20] "he used to do that sometimes, but the unions are not eager to talk to [00:21:23] the mayor, they didn't abruptly stop, but [00:21:27] on September 10th of this year, that is, 15 days ago, the mediation in Zagreb [00:21:31] Holding was stopped, the unions only had a [00:21:33] press conference on September 18th, eight days after that, [00:21:37] we expected someone might, we're not talking about the mayor now, someone would [00:21:41] say 'we're ready to talk, we're ready to see what can be done', [00:21:44] however, no, that did not happen, [00:21:47] uh, what kind of situation are the unions in." found themselves in, that [00:21:51] is enough to show you that what we have now, what we initiated with the story about [00:21:54] essential and production-maintaining jobs, was not initiated by the [00:21:57] mayor but by the unions at their press [00:22:00] conferences. Uh, how the negotiations [00:22:03] went tells you enough that we received those [00:22:07] employer proposals only during the mediation phase, in Zeta they were [00:22:11] literally handed to us on the last day on September 10th. We have [00:22:14] certain deadlines, we adhered to those deadlines, [00:22:18] we responded to their proposals. proposals, however, if you have [00:22:22] that 41% [00:22:24] of jobs in Zeta, positions should be working, or 38% of the total [00:22:28] number of jobs in Zagreb Holding, then that is contrary to the provisions of the Labor [00:22:31] Law, where they try to limit workers' right to [00:22:35] strike. In essence, how they treat their own workers, today's data from Zagreb Holding where [00:22:38] a circular letter is being sent, where lists are already being made, some kind of inventories, [00:22:42] plans that people already have to workers have to declare [00:22:46] whether they support the strike, whether they will participate... in this strike, meaning pressure is already being [00:22:50] applied today, you say that pressure is being applied on workers, yes, absolutely pressure is being applied, see, [00:22:54] we have also notified, we have of course these messages, we [00:22:58] have, so, emails circulating through the branches [00:23:00] of Zagreb Holding in this case, this is [00:23:04] of course something that tries to in some way, uh, circumvent [00:23:07] legal provisions that no one should put pressure when we talk about [00:23:11] the right to strike for any worker. [00:23:14] From the city, there are messages that what the unions are asking for would simply be... [00:23:18] financially unsustainable, so they state that today [00:23:21] decisively and claim it, uh, [00:23:24] it would mean tens of millions of euros, if it were fulfilled, [00:23:28] everything would spill over, they say, to the end users, that is, to [00:23:31] prices, what do you say to [00:23:34] I said earlier in a shorter form, the unions were ready throughout the collective [00:23:38] bargaining and mediation process to sit down and discuss [00:23:42] absolute amounts and were ready to discuss the implementation [00:23:45] deadlines, we only received at one point... from the Management of Zagreb [00:23:49] Holding some packages of three [00:23:53] or four million, which is far from our proposals. When we talk [00:23:57] about price spillover, it's always the same spin and the same story. It's attributed [00:24:00] to the end users. What I can tell you [00:24:04] is how workers feel, these are the lists that came out with salaries, meaning these are [00:24:08] individual cases of workers who really have certain [00:24:12] amounts stated there, but these are people who have 200 hours of overtime, [00:24:15] who work in shifts, who have four or five days off, who have four or more... [00:24:20] dependent family members who work in shifts on Saturdays, Sundays, [00:24:23] overtime hours, then you can imagine how those workers [00:24:26] feel, you can imagine how those colleagues who actually work for the [00:24:30] salary we mentioned, meaning it's no secret, the base salary in [00:24:34] Zagreb Holding and Zeta is 592 euros, so multiply that by [00:24:38] the job position coefficient and if any job position has a certain [00:24:41] bonus, meaning there is no no mistakes [00:24:44] no mistakes in what we said, I say this is [00:24:48] a situation that will probably escalate. [00:24:50] a situation, I say, that in our opinion should not have happened, not that we [00:24:54] are now justifying ourselves or making excuses, we were ready to discuss everything, but [00:24:58] on the other hand, it is now clear after three or four months that [00:25:01] there was no intention at all to try to agree and that is why we [00:25:05] are in the situation we are in. The strike will not be paid, [00:25:08] let the workers who are on strike contact their [00:25:11] union leaders for those days to be paid, that is roughly [00:25:15] Tomislav Tomašević's message today who will pay the dane. It is the [00:25:19] employer's right to pay or not to pay for the days spent on strike, we know that [00:25:22] 28.9. the salary [00:25:25] for the workers of the Zagreb Electric Tram and the Zagreb Holding is 10.10 in [00:25:29] this case, we will see, the unions will react and [00:25:32] we will see what will happen in the next 15 days, what [00:25:36] do you tell the citizens of Zagreb who on Monday could not only, [00:25:40] but it seems they will be without public transport and some [00:25:43] other services, how long could that strike [00:25:46] last? Well, we cannot predict how long the strike [00:25:49] will last. It would be really irresponsible on our part, however, regardless of what anyone [00:25:53] said or what anyone spoke, if we say that the workers were left without [00:25:56] a collective agreement in ZET 31.3 negotiations [00:25:59] started 1.6. If in the holding company, the collective agreement [00:26:03] expired 15.5, negotiations started 1.7. We had two [00:26:07] or three months to solve this problem, we saw and [00:26:10] concluded from the mayor's statements that he has no intention of discussing [00:26:14] this, of course, no responsibility is on the unions anymore [00:26:17] but precisely on the administrations or negotiating committees and ultimately, of course, [00:26:21] on the mayor and the team of people around him who allowed [00:26:24] them to be surprised after three, four or five [00:26:27] months that they have problems in certain commercial companies. [00:26:31] Unfortunately, unfortunately. "If there is a strike, of course there will be a suspension of [00:26:35] traffic in all components in all commercial companies, we are talking [00:26:38] about the Zagreb Electric Tram, the Zagreb Holding [00:26:41] of course the strike starts at 3:30 and 30 minutes, specifically [00:26:45] for ZET, i.e. the Zagreb electric tram transport, that is where [00:26:48] the most problems are expected, uh, you are being accused [00:26:52] of irresponsibility, so do you still stand by [00:26:55] that public transport will not operate at all? Anyone who [00:26:59] accused us of irresponsibility or inconsideration is..." one should remember that [00:27:03] three months ago, four months ago, these are his [00:27:06] employees, meaning when we say his employees, these are the employees of those [00:27:09] commercial companies owned by the city of Zagreb with messages like [00:27:13] that something is given to them, that they are getting something, meaning [00:27:17] these are workers who earn their [00:27:21] salaries, these are workers who perform crucial jobs [00:27:24] related to municipal and transport services in the city of Zagreb, these are workers who [00:27:28] deserve, above all, the respect of their employer, in this case, if we want to simplify it... [00:27:31] The employer is Mayor Tomašević, he should have [00:27:37] that level, he should have seen what was in those [00:27:40] negotiations, now what he says, he says his [00:27:43] relayed experiences from people who were in collective negotiations on the employer's [00:27:47] side, and the responsibility is, of course, absolutely his if we have [00:27:51] collective agreements that have expired or if we have negotiations that last three or four [00:27:54] months, and don't forget, I always like to point out, the mediation [00:27:58] ended on 10.9, the unions [00:28:01] on 18.9 after eight days had their first press [00:28:04] conference, they gave some activity roadmap for the next 10 [00:28:08] days, so we gave a full 17 [00:28:11] to 18 days for this situation to try and be resolved, no one called [00:28:14] us to say let's sit down, to be fair there was one unofficial [00:28:18] meeting at ZET, there was one unofficial meeting at the Zagreb Holding, but those [00:28:22] meetings were about, let's talk [00:28:24] about the same package they have up there, which is 4.5% and [00:28:28] indexation of salaries, nothing, not a cent up or a cent down, we had that [00:28:32] previously. three or four months and that's why the unions did not agree yesterday to an [00:28:35] additional meeting with the management of the Zagreb Holding, alright, some [00:28:39] essential services still have to remain functional, they have to be [00:28:43] ensured, what services will those be, will waste be [00:28:46] taken away from hospitals, say kindergartens, is there [00:28:50] an agreement among you how many workers will still have to work and [00:28:54] what jobs during the strike? I told you during this conversation how [00:28:57] malicious the employer's [00:29:00] intention was that they did not want to... [00:29:02] discuss those essential production jobs [00:29:05] that are mandatory, say two months ago, three months ago, [00:29:09] they remembered to discuss that within the last 15 days, I said, [00:29:12] for example, in the Zagreb Electric Tram, these jobs, their proposal was offered [00:29:16] on 10.9. so that was recently, and [00:29:20] 41% was offered. Of course, we cannot accept [00:29:23] 41% and 38%, if there had been good will, if there had been good intentions, [00:29:27] if there had been any negotiation in [00:29:31] good faith, we would have resolved it... or two months ago, however, the moment [00:29:34] they decided that such a large number of workers had to work, of course, [00:29:38] that caused a revolt primarily among the workers, primarily among the workers, but [00:29:41] when the workers heard that their proposal was 4.5%, you can [00:29:45] imagine how that additionally, with this notion that someone is giving them a salary, [00:29:48] they are receiving a salary or something, that caused additional uproar. When we talk [00:29:52] about essential jobs, yes, we said today at [00:29:55] the press conference, of course, that city cemeteries will do what they need to [00:29:58] do, that Zagreb's cleanliness... [00:30:02] uh, will carry out waste removal related to hospitals, kindergartens, [00:30:06] that the Zagreb Electric Tram will do what it can and what is [00:30:10] essential and urgent, which is the transport of people with [00:30:14] disabilities, school transport, however much of it there [00:30:17] is, it will be carried out, but no one can say that the turnout, [00:30:21] especially in today's time in a situation where [00:30:24] citizens tried to turn around according to [00:30:27] the mayor's statements interpreted in a way that makes it seem they all have high [00:30:31] salaries, not that these are... individual cases. We will hold Mayor [00:30:35] Tomašević and the management of the Zagreb Electric Tram and the Zagreb [00:30:38] Holding responsible if it happens that any of our members [00:30:42] or our workers are injured if they are forced to [00:30:45] perform some duties that are not essential. This should have been [00:30:49] taken into account during these collective negotiations, during the mediation process, and [00:30:52] from 10.9 until today, 25.9, in 15 [00:30:56] days we could have sat down, talked, seen, maybe we would have found something.
