At a Tanja Veselinović, this is the news [00:00:24] of the day. [00:00:28] Ursula von der Leyen bypasses Serbia on her tour of the Western [00:00:32] Balkans in October. The European People's Party initiates [00:00:35] proceedings for the exclusion of the Serbian Progressive Party. Is [00:00:39] Brussels changing its course towards the government in Belgrade or is it just [00:00:43] one of a series of rebukes? They [00:00:45] partially react to that. They no longer see a stable partner in Vučić or [00:00:49] his party. [00:00:53] And other topics in the news [00:00:54] tonight. [00:00:59] The Republic Electoral Commission proclaimed [00:01:02] the electoral list "European Serbia, Marinika [00:01:06] Tepić, Zdravko Ponoš". Why are several officials of SSP and [00:01:09] Srce not on the list, and what is their future in these [00:01:12] parties? [00:01:16] They remain comrades-in-arms, and as for us, absolutely [00:01:20] yes. All employees have always been forced [00:01:23] to go to SNS rallies. Now they are forcing them to sign for [00:01:26] the SNS list, they announced that they will give them [00:01:30] filled-in ballots, and that they will have to return [00:01:33] empty ones. The "Kreni-Promeni" movement records [00:01:37] more testimonies than ever [00:01:38] many is that from employees in public and even private companies about [00:01:41] pressures to vote for SNS and to [00:01:45] gather sure [00:01:46] votes. [00:01:50] According to the scenario from Jovina Gimnazija in Novi Sad, a showdown with [00:01:53] teachers in Subotica. 12 professors of the Polytechnic [00:01:57] School were fired. [00:02:01] the coalition From Monday, the weather will be mostly cloudy with a drop in temperature, [00:02:05] tomorrow up to 25, from Tuesday up to [00:02:08] 20°. [00:02:14] Are some new winds blowing from Brussels or is it just an [00:02:17] impression? The President of the European Commission, Ursula [00:02:21] von der Leyen, on her tour of the Western Balkans, will not [00:02:24] stop in Belgrade, allegedly due to the ongoing election [00:02:28] campaign. Some European media, however, interpret this as [00:02:32] a change in attitude towards the government, primarily due to the state's role in [00:02:35] organizing Ratko Mladić's funeral. At the same time, for [00:02:39] the same reason, the European People's Party is initiating [00:02:42] proceedings against its member, the Serbian Progressive [00:02:47] a different Serbia, we must get used to Party. [00:02:52] The traditionally cordial greeting between the President of the European Commission and the Serbian [00:02:55] President will be absent during the election campaign because [00:02:59] Ursula von der Leyen decided to skip Serbia on her Balkan tour. [00:03:03] Is it a political message? Aleksandar Vučić [00:03:07] says that the elections are just an elegant way for her [00:03:10] to cancel the visit, adding that von der Leyen does not want to [00:03:14] meet with a government in a technical mandate. There isn't much [00:03:18] sense to it. There aren't at that [00:03:21] moment you have legal institutions, [00:03:24] the government is legal, the acting President [00:03:28] of the Republic is legal, but there are no legitimate institutions anymore because we are in [00:03:31] an election campaign. They will wait for the elections to end, then they will work [00:03:35] with whoever wins. Is that really so? German [00:03:39] press writes that the European Union has lost patience with [00:03:42] the authorities in Serbia, and even the expulsion of the [00:03:46] Serbian Progressive Party from the European political family is being considered. [00:03:50] We have started a process against the Serbian Progressive Party, the voices regarding [00:03:53] this in the EPP are now very [00:03:56] strong. [00:03:59] Enough is enough. We have waited too long. The Serbian Progressive [00:04:02] Party has led Serbia for almost a decade, sitting on multiple [00:04:05] diplomatic chairs and, according to experts, making most [00:04:09] decisions against the will of Brussels. Why is patience [00:04:13] breaking now? A professor of political and cultural sociology from [00:04:17] London believes that the turning point was practically [00:04:20] the state funeral of a convicted war [00:04:23] criminal. [00:04:26] We should not speculate too much about the motives of people from the European Union, it's. [00:04:30] quite obvious. What's interesting is that Vučić and his party seem [00:04:34] unaware that they crossed a civilizational line with this [00:04:37] funeral. This alienated Serbia both from its neighbors in the region [00:04:40] and from the European Union. The funeral, [00:04:43] he says, was used by the government to present it as [00:04:46] practically a pre-election [00:04:48] rally. [00:04:51] Meanwhile, Vučić openly says that the European [00:04:54] Union will not accept Serbia, and before the elections, he [00:04:57] sharpens his rhetoric towards Brussels officials. Here's what he said [00:05:01] after the Commissioner for Enlargement canceled her visit to [00:05:05] Serbia after Mladić's funeral. Her comments bother [00:05:08] me. That bothers me. I won't let you humiliate [00:05:12] our country. And don't lie, and don't [00:05:15] lie. Defiant messages serve well in a pre-election [00:05:18] campaign, says Gordi, but they are dangerous for the reputation [00:05:22] of the Serbian Progressive Party in Brussels. [00:05:25] I think that we truly have an indication that all these things, provocations, demonstrations [00:05:29] of confidence by the regime are actually an indicator of their weakness [00:05:32] and insecurity. And if we return to the European Union, they [00:05:36] partially react to this, they no longer see a stable partner in Vučić or [00:05:39] his party. Not only that. As he says, the fall [00:05:43] of Viktor Orbán in Hungary has fundamentally changed [00:05:47] regional geopolitics. [00:05:50] Now the European Union no longer has to worry about satisfying Orbán and his [00:05:53] satellites. Orbán is history, as is his entire network of far-right movements [00:05:57] across Europe, that's no longer a factor. Another thing that [00:06:00] I think is happening is that the European Union is not convinced that it can provide them with [00:06:04] the Jadar project. All the things that he had that kept them on his [00:06:07] side no longer work. A similar policy once [00:06:11] led Serbia to international isolation and sanctions, the professor [00:06:15] reminds. Nevertheless, he feels a great difference in the mood [00:06:19] of voters, he doesn't see that the current generation is ready to pay [00:06:22] that price as the one in the 90s, because he says today there is a [00:06:26] clear alternative. Miodrag [00:06:29] Sovilj, N1 [00:06:31] Belgrade. [00:06:39] The Republic Electoral Commission today proclaimed the electoral list. [00:06:42] European Serbia, Marinika Tepić, Zdravko Ponoš for [00:06:46] the upcoming early parliamentary elections. What surprised [00:06:51] some of the more prominent members of the Party of Freedom and Justice from Serbia [00:06:55] Centre, Borko Stefanović, Jelena Milošević, Vladimir [00:06:58] Vrsajkov, Goran Petrović, Peđa Mitrović and Mila [00:07:02] Popović, as well as Boško Šindić and Slobodan Petrović [00:07:05] from Srce, decided to support the students. How will this [00:07:09] affect their stance? status in the parties, and how will it affect [00:07:14] in general? [00:07:17] Unlike some others, they brought all the letters [00:07:20] to the submission of the list, but unlike some others, they did not [00:07:23] bring all the members. That supporting students is a better [00:07:27] choice than participating in elections is believed by at least six officials [00:07:31] of the SSP and two members of the presidency of Serbia [00:07:34] Centre, as well as the leaders of those parties. A part of the people [00:07:38] believed that they should not participate, that is their [00:07:40] right. Those who want to participate, who believe that the [00:07:44] best way to increase turnout, [00:07:47] the possibility to vote for a European coalition, [00:07:51] a national option, that one [00:07:54] central list, are on this list. I think that if we want to create [00:08:00] the fact that democracy also implies the right to [00:08:03] a different opinion. And what do those who exercised the right [00:08:07] to a different opinion and a different decision say? Nothing, [00:08:11] we tried to contact some of them, but we didn't [00:08:14] get any comments. The leader of the Party of Freedom and Justice has only words [00:08:18] of praise for those who left the list of European Serbia. He says they are [00:08:22] great fighters against the current regime. They remain [00:08:25] comrades-in-arms. And as for us, absolutely yes. And at [00:08:29] Serbia Centre, they explain that at the last session of the party's presidency, [00:08:33] they were unanimous in the decision to go to the elections, but some [00:08:36] still changed their minds. That is their legitimate [00:08:39] decision. Uh, there were no exclusions from [00:08:43] party membership, none of that happened. I have [00:08:46] the impression that things, that things looked much more dramatic in the media [00:08:50] than in the parties. Of course, these are people who [00:08:53] deserve full respect. Respected or not, it is not entirely [00:08:57] clear what the future engagement of those who did not [00:09:00] agree with their party's decision to participate in [00:09:03] the upcoming elections will be. And can the pro-European list count on [00:09:06] voters respecting its decision? Now in this [00:09:10] situation, a referendum. which under such [00:09:13] pressure, I do not see that [00:09:17] the opposition parties who are determined to go out [00:09:21] can create space for themselves. Simply, it will be the same atmosphere as it was on the 24th [00:09:25] for that part of the opposition that came out. There will be more talk about [00:09:28] why you are coming out than what you are offering, who the people are and what is being [00:09:31] done, so I think it will be difficult for them to escape that discourse that is now [00:09:35] imposed on them. First, the parliamentary opposition announced the formation of a united [00:09:38] bloc, then three columns appeared, now [00:09:42] two remain, while in the meantime, as many as six [00:09:45] parties from the last parliamentary assembly decided to withdraw [00:09:49] from the election race and offer support to the student [00:09:52] list. Nenad Nešić, N1, [00:09:55] Belgrade. The leader of the United [00:09:58] Serbia list, Aleksandar Vučić, continued his campaign by visiting villages across [00:10:02] Serbia. In a video clip, he said that instead of changing [00:10:06] the government, it is much more important to, as he says, change [00:10:10] ourselves and listen to the citizens. [00:10:13] What I have seen all these past days is that the citizens of Serbia want [00:10:17] to change a lot of things. They are satisfied [00:10:19] with the progress, but they are not satisfied with [00:10:22] the care shown for them and for... we [00:10:25] will have to show that we have understood our [00:10:29] citizens, to change those who are arrogant, [00:10:32] haughty, to change ourselves, everyone, because [00:10:35] people do not want to play with their future, they do not want to [00:10:39] give their trust to those for whom they know would take them back to [00:10:42] the past, but they want to see us differently, this is my [00:10:44] message to everyone in Serbia who is in [00:10:47] power, that there will be great [00:10:50] changes, but that we will have to work even harder, even [00:10:54] more. that we will undoubtedly have to [00:10:57] respect the word of our people, to listen to them [00:11:01] and to serve them. [00:11:03] Vučić today reiterated his invitation [00:11:07] to the leader of the student list Ilija Srdanović for a TV [00:11:11] debate. He stated that it can be whenever he wants and [00:11:14] wherever he wants. Srdanović responded in a short video [00:11:18] post on Instagram, along with which he wrote "you don't have enough [00:11:22] credit for this call". [00:11:25] Ignorance is very [00:11:26] painful. [00:11:29] The students are continuing their bicycle tour across [00:11:32] Serbia. The group cycling through Vojvodina has arrived in [00:11:36] Subotica, while those cycling through Central and [00:11:40] Southern Serbia have entered Kraljevo. In those two [00:11:42] cities are N1 reporters, Ina Džakula in Subotica, [00:11:46] Nenad Božović in Kraljevo. And Nenad, [00:11:50] what was the reception like in Kraljevo? They raised [00:11:53] their voices. Tanja, as you said, [00:11:57] the cyclists arrived about 15 minutes ago and were greeted [00:12:01] here at the Square of Serbian Warriors in Kraljevo. We will now [00:12:04] show you approximately what it looks like in the square. At this moment, [00:12:08] speeches are being given from an improvised stage. [00:12:11] There are candidates for members of parliament who are on [00:12:15] the student list. At this moment, the high school professor [00:12:19] Vesna Seničić is speaking, but [00:12:21] other candidates will also speak. We assume [00:12:25] some of the students as well. They were greeted just as we saw them in [00:12:28] other cities, with flares, [00:12:32] through a line of people and those usual [00:12:35] customary shouts that [00:12:38] we hear at every student [00:12:42] protest. What awaits these cyclists [00:12:46] is that they will go to Vranje, then [00:12:49] from Vranje, they will return again via Niš [00:12:52] to Kragujevac where it is held. [00:13:04] in this tour that goes through Central, [00:13:07] Western and Southern Serbia. Now, if I were to make a [00:13:11] comparison between the tour to Strasbourg and this one now, how would you [00:13:14] describe it? Well, it can't be compared, this is more [00:13:17] now we are again approaching our people, to remind them that [00:13:21] there is a constitution, to remind them [00:13:24] that. a thing that can be voted for, that our list is [00:13:27] the right thing, that we will fight against corruption, to free [00:13:30] the judiciary, so it cannot be compared in that sense, in [00:13:34] some sense, how difficult it is, yes it can be compared, but that's not [00:13:37] important, nothing is difficult, it's important to revive the awareness that it can [00:13:41] be better, that it's not just "oh be quiet, it could be worse," no, it can absolutely [00:13:45] be better, here we are to show that it can be better, here is our list that says it can [00:13:48] be better, because on that list there are you started [00:13:52] this tour in that campaign, or rather. under [00:13:55] the slogan "Guardians of the Constitution". And now, what does it look like, you go [00:13:58] on country roads, you cycle on some that are not so [00:14:01] busy, what does it look like when you pass through those areas, and [00:14:05] this was still a more rural area? Well, it depends, the route [00:14:09] changes every day, and today, for example, we traveled on the highway and on those [00:14:12] country roads, [00:14:15] then as guardians of the constitution, we show ourselves on the highway and on those country [00:14:18] roads, so I can say [00:14:22] the route varies. [00:14:41] That's what interests me, the people who live in those areas, what did you notice, did you notice anything about them? Well, we noticed [00:14:45] smiles, we noticed that maybe they were somehow [00:14:48] surprised to see us, as if we were some mythical creatures, as if [00:14:51] we were, probably we are a bit distorted in all media. [00:15:25] impressions from this part of the journey. Once again, I want to [00:15:28] reiterate, we are at the Square of Serbian Warriors in Kraljevo. The square [00:15:32] here is quite full, the students, the cyclists, were welcomed. [00:15:36] At this moment, the speakers are addressing [00:15:40] the audience. We heard Nenad Božović, that's [00:15:43] what the welcome for the student cyclists in Kraljevo looks like, and now we go to Ina [00:15:47] Džakula in Subotica, there they have just [00:15:50] arrived cyclists who are visiting [00:15:53] Vojvodina. Ina, what is currently [00:15:55] happening? [00:16:01] you can see in the picture what's happening, I believe you can hear me. So, [00:16:05] here is a, I would say, very [00:16:08] euphoric atmosphere. Just a few minutes ago, [00:16:11] cyclists arrived, so they came on two wheels from [00:16:14] Kikinda, early this morning they covered 90 [00:16:17] km, they stopped at [00:16:20] nearby places on the roads where people greeted them [00:16:24] and they came, so to Subotica, that is their [00:16:28] final destination for today, [00:16:30] they will also spend the night there, and you see, so [00:16:34] how the residents of Subotica greeted them, so... a warm [00:16:38] welcome with ovations, with applause, with the famous [00:16:41] chants of "pumpa" and "students win", which is also the name [00:16:45] of their "Lice,sk" list, but also with [00:16:48] this song which has somehow, let's say, marked their [00:16:52] wonderful journey. Today is the fourth day of this [00:16:56] ten-day tour, "Guardians of the Constitution" as the students [00:16:59] called it, and so you see what the current [00:17:03] atmosphere is like. Before this, there was a [00:17:07] pre-election rally organized right here in Prozinka Park in [00:17:11] Subotica. At that pre-election rally, [00:17:14] some of the candidates from the student list were actually [00:17:18] presented. The gathered crowd was addressed first by the geological [00:17:20] engineer, Zoran Đajić, who became known to the public [00:17:24] for being a characteristic public speaker, [00:17:28] a commentator on the circumstances under which the water tower fell. [00:17:31] After him, Nemanja Đurić from [00:17:34] the judiciary trade union also spoke, and [00:17:38] certainly also another candidate, Dejan [00:17:42] Đoškić, who is an economist professor. I suggest [00:17:46] that you listen to what they told the gathered crowd [00:17:49] at the pre-election rally before this welcome of the [00:17:53] students. A wise man [00:17:57] said, if you want to destroy a [00:18:00] nation, it is not necessary to have a conquering [00:18:04] army that will come and subjugate that [00:18:07] country, it is enough to just convince the [00:18:11] people in that country, in that nation, that [00:18:15] corruption is [00:18:15] normal. [00:18:24] when they appoint that someone [00:18:27] undeservingly, just because they are politically suitable, [00:18:31] a party member, loyal, [00:18:34] but lack sufficient knowledge. [00:18:38] he will most often know that he doesn't know, he [00:18:41] feels that he doesn't belong there, he knows that [00:18:44] he would never be in that position if it weren't for [00:18:48] those who put him [00:18:49] there, [00:18:52] then what do we think, to whom is he loyal? Is he [00:18:55] loyal to his colleagues, is he loyal to his [00:18:59] institution, is he loyal to [00:19:03] society and the state? [00:19:05] No, he is then loyal only to... [00:19:10] that we never again have the burning [00:19:14] of a prosecutor's [00:19:15] car, [00:19:21] that we have a judiciary that is ready to [00:19:24] stand up to anyone who breaks [00:19:27] the law. [00:19:30] That is what the student list will bring, [00:19:34] that is what we as candidates, that... program that [00:19:38] the student list has, we will only [00:19:41] implement it. [00:19:46] That's what was conveyed from the [00:19:49] stage, and the current atmosphere is like this: a few [00:19:52] minutes ago, the cyclists arrived, those who, as I said, came on two wheels, [00:19:56] started today from Kikinda, arrived in Subotica, covered 90 km [00:20:00] and currently a folk dance is being performed, and this is the atmosphere [00:20:04] of the pre-election rally. [00:21:08] So you heard what it was like, this [00:21:12] is the reception for the students, the cyclists, [00:21:15] certainly for the citizens who cycled. Today is [00:21:18] therefore the final destination. Subotica, they continue their journey tomorrow [00:21:22] to Sombor, but first they will actually [00:21:25] spend the night here and therefore continue their [00:21:28] journey tomorrow morning. [00:21:31] And we heard Ina Džakula and Nenad Božević, this is what the reception for [00:21:35] the students, the cyclists in Kraljevo and [00:21:37] Subotica looks like. [00:21:39] And as part of the election campaign, the president of the Socialist Party of Serbia, [00:21:43] the leader of the "Factor of Stability" list, Ivica Dačić, [00:21:47] presented the younger members of that party. He states that [00:21:50] socialists pass on their political values from generation [00:21:54] to generation. The Socialist Party of Serbia, [00:21:57] like in the Bible, a burning bush that burns but does not [00:22:00] burn up, we leave the flame for future generations [00:22:04] of socialists and socialists, said [00:22:07] Dačić. [00:22:10] New DSS today sends a message that it is against [00:22:13] the recognition of same-sex marriages. The president of that party, [00:22:17] Miloš Jovanović, claims that Serbia's entry into the European Union [00:22:20] implies the recognition of same-sex marriages, adding that for [00:22:24] the Authentic Right coalition, whose leader he is in the [00:22:28] elections, such a thing is unacceptable. He reminds [00:22:31] that in the Constitution of Serbia, marriage is defined as a union [00:22:35] of a man and a woman. [00:22:38] The People's Party will participate in the parliamentary elections in a coalition with [00:22:42] the "Mi snaga Naroda" movement, Branimir Nestorović, and two [00:22:46] Russian minority parties, confirmed the president of that party, [00:22:50] Vladimir Gajić. Gajić says that the coalition agreement should [00:22:54] be certified tomorrow, after which the collection of signatures for [00:22:57] the electoral list would begin. At the same time, Aleksandar [00:23:00] Vulin's Socialist Movement will definitively not be part of that [00:23:03] coalition. Gajić also said that Branimir Nestorović's [00:23:07] health condition is improving and that [00:23:10] Nestorović confirmed the agreed composition of the [00:23:12] coalition. [00:23:17] As the elections approach, the pressure on citizens, and [00:23:21] especially on employees in public enterprises, increases. Lists are being [00:23:25] compiled for door-to-door campaigning, for voting, and for [00:23:28] collecting sure votes. The "Kreni Promeni" movement, which has [00:23:32] enabled citizens to report such types of [00:23:35] pressure and offers legal assistance and advice on [00:23:39] how to act in such situations, says that there are [00:23:41] more reports than ever before, and that employees in the private [00:23:45] sector are also [00:23:47] subjected to pressure. [00:23:50] Letters to the "Report Blackmail" address, which was opened by "Kreni Promeni", come from [00:23:53] public enterprises. However, as the campaign heats up, the [00:23:57] pressures expand. What distinguishes these [00:24:01] reports from previous ones, when party rallies were organized, is [00:24:05] that this time there is also a large number of reports from [00:24:08] private enterprises, not just from the public [00:24:12] sector. And as for the public sector, this time, [00:24:15] the pressures were drastically greater from [00:24:19] superiors towards employees. A large [00:24:22] number of them reported that after they refused to sign [00:24:26] for the Progressives' list or refused to [00:24:29] participate in door-to-door campaigning because they were being forced [00:24:33] to, they simply lost their jobs or their [00:24:37] contracts were terminated. Respected Infostan workers went organized [00:24:40] to Vračar municipality to give their signatures to SNS and who knows who [00:24:44] else, because we heard that several fake citizen groups were established who [00:24:48] present themselves as students, so it is very possible they signed for them too. [00:24:51] They went there towards the end of working hours in organized groups, so not [00:24:55] all together, so it wouldn't be discovered that they were organized. The quota was [00:24:59] up to 100 workers, of which the legal department could organize twelve [00:25:03] of them. The main organizer is, as always, the general [00:25:06] director, known for his presence at SNS stands in Vračar [00:25:10] and as an usher at last year's SNS rally in [00:25:12] Niš. Reports arrive in cycles, as soon [00:25:16] as some Progressive activity is announced, pressure arrives. [00:25:20] Not just for rallies, but also for conducting campaigns, and in the form [00:25:24] of instructions for election day. Dear Sir/Madam, [00:25:27] my acquaintance works at Simpo in Bujanovac, she is under [00:25:31] enormous pressure to support SNS. All [00:25:35] employees have always been forced to go to SNS rallies. Now they [00:25:38] are forcing them to sign for the SNS list. They announced that [00:25:42] they will give them filled-in ballots, and that they will have [00:25:45] to return empty ones. [00:25:48] Employees rarely turn to unions, from which they say that everything [00:25:51] is a consequence of a bad labor law that gives workers no [00:25:55] rights. For us, as a union, in such [00:25:58] situations, it is only to appeal that [00:26:02] they contact us, that we will do our best as a union, [00:26:06] an organization that deals with the protection of workers' rights, to help [00:26:09] them. I'm not sure how successful we can [00:26:12] be in all of that, if [00:26:15] you know that someone's contract will be [00:26:18] terminated after three months, meaning [00:26:22] meeting held on Saturday, the superior [00:26:25] jokingly asked who we were voting for. A guy said [00:26:29] for students. His contract will not be extended, he works until [00:26:32] the end of the month, allegedly he works well. The company is otherwise connected [00:26:36] with Siniša Mali and Ana Brnabić, the owner [00:26:39] is a drug dealer, google it. I'm looking for another [00:26:42] job. The assistance offered by "Kreni Promeni" is legal and [00:26:46] free, but the movement has also dedicated itself to international [00:26:49] institutions, as well as collecting [00:26:52] data. Uh, "Kreni Promeni" therefore now has an enormous [00:26:55] database with the names, [00:26:59] surnames, and positions of Progressives who have [00:27:02] been, especially during the past year, exerting pressure on [00:27:05] citizens. We contacted the Commissioner for the Protection [00:27:09] of Equality, simply to see what their response would be. Their response was, [00:27:13] they sent us a form, so [00:27:16] people who report need to stand behind it with their name and surname data. [00:27:20] They simply do not understand or do not want to [00:27:23] understand why citizens do not want to, even though I must emphasize [00:27:27] that citizens introduce themselves to us with their name and surname, so they do not hide their identity from [00:27:30] us, but they simply insist and ask that their identity be protected from the public. [00:27:34] Odir is before more than [00:27:37] 500 complaints from citizens with evidence that they were blackmailed when it came to [00:27:41] elections, and these complaints were supported by either [00:27:44] audio or video recordings. Žina [00:27:47] Tatalović, N1 [00:27:49] Belgrade. [00:27:56] In the continuation of the diary, this [00:27:58] story. [00:28:01] What did the deaths of Stefan Smiljanić at the construction site [00:28:05] in Žička Street in Belgrade mean, according to his family members and [00:28:09] friends? [00:28:14] Before that, about the conflict with educators [00:28:17] in a vocational school in Subotica, [00:28:21] a scenario from Jovina Gymnasium, parents and [00:28:24] professors claim that since the beginning of the school year at the Polytechnic School, [00:28:28] at least 12 professors have lost their jobs, and that they were [00:28:31] informed about it just before the beginning of the school [00:28:34] year. Master of Forestry Engineering [00:28:38] Milan Batinić, for three years, taught vocational [00:28:42] subjects in the field of forestry at the Polytechnic [00:28:45] School in Subotica. On the eve of the beginning of the new school year, [00:28:48] he lost his job. [00:28:51] On August 31st, I went to school, for three days I asked [00:28:55] in the secretariat if there was any contract, there was no contract. [00:28:59] After consulting with a lawyer, I was informed that when the [00:29:02] contract expires, i.e., on August 31st, concluding with that, from September 1st, I [00:29:06] am no longer employed. Despite asking for days before [00:29:10] the beginning of the school year about the [00:29:12] contract, he did not receive an answer and [00:29:16] he is not the only one. As far as I am informed, 12 people were [00:29:19] left, that's already a double-digit number. What I know [00:29:23] is that their contracts also expired, but as far as [00:29:27] I am informed, they received the notification a few days before [00:29:30] the beginning of the school year. The contract was not renewed, just like [00:29:33] mine, civil engineer Pal Gabor Berček, who worked at the [00:29:37] school for five years and taught in two [00:29:40] languages, also lost his job and [00:29:44] without explanation. The director did not consider it necessary [00:29:48] to confirm or deny my professional qualities, let alone [00:29:51] explain her decision at the last minute before the beginning of [00:29:55] the school year, leaving me without a job, practically on the street, [00:29:58] and thus without a stable existence. Today I cannot [00:30:02] qualify such behavior of the head of one of the best schools [00:30:05] in this field, except that I can suspect that behind all this are [00:30:09] reasons of a political nature. A mother from the parents' council tells [00:30:13] us that the dismissal of teaching staff affects [00:30:16] students. Her daughter found out on September 1st that her [00:30:20] class teacher was fired. My daughter called me [00:30:23] crying. She is very [00:30:26] upset. [00:30:29] We did not receive any information from the school. I myself, thank [00:30:32] God, personally went to the school that day to get at least [00:30:35] some information about what was happening, what it was [00:30:38] about, what we would do with the children? The problem is in [00:30:42] the poor organization of classes and practice, says [00:30:45] the mother. The schedule of classes would be in the evening until [00:30:48] 11:00, she used to get a message on Sunday evening at 11 o'clock, [00:30:51] that's your schedule for tomorrow. [00:30:55] I ask how those commuters who come, and she has half a class of [00:30:59] commuters.
