[00:04:24] Reporting for Pakistan TV, Alamdar [00:04:28] of Kazmi. You watch the report. Now we have been joined [00:04:31] by Ayyub Sumber geopolitical [00:04:34] of analyst to talk further more about this. Welcome to [00:04:36] of Pakistan TV's transmission. Pakistan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia [00:04:40] and Turkey have signed the Mackay joint defense [00:04:43] agreement. What is your take on this matter? [00:04:46] a How do you think this is going to be beneficial for all these three [00:04:50] countries? Thank you very much for having me. I think yes that is a [00:04:54] quite historic milestone into the relation between [00:04:57] of the of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkia. "and [00:05:00] of I think that that is something that was needed according to the changing [00:05:04] dynamics, changing dynamics and the political and the [00:05:08] geopolitical shift in the middle east, so how much it could be the practical and the [00:05:12] pragma?" " I think that will the time will tell because such [00:05:15] kind of mean strategical partnerships with quite [00:05:19] heavyweight military mean that the countries like [00:05:22] Pakistan and Turkey because the Saudi Reliance and [00:05:26] more dependence of defense was on the United States [00:05:30] so but the recent episode and the the war between the [00:05:34] United States and Iran has quite changed the [00:05:37] dynamics in the middle east and the Saudies [00:05:41] reliance on the other. countries, especially on Pakistan and the Turkia, I [00:05:44] think that is quite meaningful at this time, but if we can go to the [00:05:48] historical context, so I think that the Turkey and the Saudi [00:05:52] Arabia, their past if if we go, if we go, if we [00:05:56] go towards the atoman empire, so I think that that is quite a big [00:05:59] change, and the the compliance [00:06:03] and especially the the compatibility of such kind the [00:06:07] relations are quite changing, but we can see also the other side that Iran [00:06:11] quite downplay and... also Iran said that such kind [00:06:15] the deals will not protect Saudi Arabia, so it's mean [00:06:19] that the Iran existence in the middle east will increase [00:06:23] and especially the iran proxies that could be a posing [00:06:26] a quite serious threat to Saudies, I think that is also [00:06:30] something that could be considerable into the near [00:06:33] future, we know that Turkish [00:06:36] president, he talked about this as well [00:06:40] and he said that this this agreement, it is not [00:06:44] targeting any country, this aims to strengthen regional [00:06:48] security and cooperation. this is the same thing that you just mentioned [00:06:52] in your just as well. now when we talk about not targeting [00:06:56] any country, it actually is about the strategic [00:06:59] cooperation between these three countries, can you please elaborate that a [00:07:03] bit? yeah, sure, i think that was quite meaningful because he mentioned [00:07:06] categorically that this will not target any country, [00:07:10] but i think they will also said that they are. welcoming the likeminded countries into [00:07:14] this alliance and this block, so one thing will be also [00:07:18] very point to be noted that when such kind the geopolitical [00:07:22] shifts will go, ultimately that will give new president into the [00:07:26] middle east and and the rivals things especially those who [00:07:29] are not into the favor of this block, i think they will also engage [00:07:33] in such kind the geostrategical and the geopolitical alliances [00:07:37] and the blocks, but one thing that is also [00:07:41] very important is this that mostly especially when we see right [00:07:44] now that the world is going to be a multipolar world [00:07:48] and in that case even we say that the United States who has such kind [00:07:52] the alliance and defense pactor they are also very [00:07:56] hard for the United States to protect such kind the [00:07:59] partnerships so mostly such kind the partnerships and the alliances [00:08:03] are symbolic rather than the more practical so they give a [00:08:07] just like a symbolic presence and a [00:08:10] symbolic alliance and to make a native into the [00:08:14] unified blocks that give them leverage and protect them from the [00:08:18] hostile nation. now these three countries [00:08:22] would be learning from each other's experiences, they will be [00:08:26] looking into each other's technological capabilities [00:08:29] and this is going to be beneficial for all three these as [00:08:33] well. what do you think each country has to offer in [00:08:37] this agreement? i think that is a quite mean that [00:08:41] worse style and the very very comprehensive block, if [00:08:45] we see that the two heavy weights, I mentioned as first that [00:08:49] Pakistan [00:08:49] and the Turkia, they [00:08:50] are quite heavyweight into [00:08:51] the militaries, their militaries are one the best militaries into the world, so Saudi [00:08:55] Arabia, Saudi Arabia is rich oil resources, so have they have a [00:08:59] plenty the resources and the financial assistance, [00:09:02] so even even we saw that the previous visit the prime [00:09:06] minister [00:09:07] to to Turkia, so Turkey pledge some some [00:09:10] mous with Pakistan and "they could impact Pakistan [00:09:14] economically because Pakistan economic vulnerability is something like [00:09:18] this that [00:09:19] the two Turkia and Saudi Arabia they could have substantial amount the [00:09:23] resources that they could help Pakistan [00:09:24] and similarly Pakistan militarily position and Pakistan [00:09:28] defense strong mean that the experience [00:09:32] the comebat experience they could also learn from there so I think that could be [00:09:36] a give and take and there is a quite impressive model [00:09:40] the cooperation between the uncised" Islamabad and Raad and I think [00:09:44] that these all three countries have a strong potential in terms [00:09:48] of exchange the resources and to becoming very strong defense [00:09:51] lines and it's also setting a very good president I think into the middle [00:09:55] easter because right now actually the Muhammad bin [00:09:58] Salman his vision of setting up a Muslim [00:10:02] countries Natos I think that is a step forward to that thing if [00:10:06] we see and Turkey has very good experience the NATO because they are the member the [00:10:09] NATO and they have quite experience towards the other side [00:10:13] the Europe, so I think that that could be quite beneficial and [00:10:17] very mean interesting mean [00:10:19] alliance, so much Mr. Ayub [00:10:23] symbol for being a part of. transmission today [00:10:26] and for sharing your detailed in depth analysis with our views as well. now [00:10:29] earlier political analyst Jahangir Khatak from New York spoke to [00:10:33] Pakistan TV and he shared his views on historic Makka defense [00:10:37] agreement. let's share with you what he said. [00:10:41] certainly it adds more players to [00:10:44] the security arrangement that we are seeing. it's [00:10:48] emerging security arrangement. i don't think this will be or these [00:10:52] three will be the last countries that will be part of. arrangement [00:10:55] because Iran war has [00:10:58] definitely changed lot of ground [00:11:02] realities, the security environment [00:11:05] has changed radically and [00:11:09] certainly it has actually forced many countries in [00:11:13] the region to recalibrate their own national security [00:11:17] strategy. In the past, their main stay [00:11:20] for security umbrella was the United States, but now we see [00:11:24] that "it may may be Saudi Arabia which is the [00:11:28] key player or Kuwait or other countries in the [00:11:31] region, all them are showing interest in different ways in [00:11:35] engaging with countries like Pakistan, which is the only [00:11:39] nuclear power in the world which is Muslim [00:11:42] and also have the battle hearded military, so [00:11:46] this pact makes it very unique combination of three [00:11:50] powers that are in the region, [00:11:54] one being..." rather to being having global implications, all them have, [00:11:58] but I think Turkey and Pakistan have more global implications [00:12:02] when it comes to military power, because Saudi [00:12:06] Arabia is bringing its deep pockets, [00:12:10] Turkey is bringing its military technology and progres [00:12:14] and Pakistan is bringing to the table [00:12:17] its military which is bettle hearted and [00:12:20] proven itself time and again how [00:12:24] effectively it can deal with crisis, whether it is at [00:12:27] home or abroad, even though Pakistan has not played [00:12:31] any such role an active military [00:12:35] theater, besides being part the international [00:12:38] peaceekeepers under the United Nations, but this is a completely [00:12:42] different game and I think that this gives Pakistan very [00:12:46] different place, so it has certainly [00:12:50] advantages for Pakistan, it may have some risks for Pakistan as [00:12:54] well, so I think... overall if you look at it, it's a landmark agreement and I [00:12:58] i think that it will have far reaching [00:13:01] implications and impact on the regional dynamics, the [00:13:05] economic dynamics, the geostrategic dynamics [00:13:09] of South Asia as well as the Middle East and [00:13:13] beyond, because the world at large, [00:13:16] international economy depends a lot on the [00:13:19] hydrocarbon resources the middle east region and Saudi Arabia [00:13:23] being the world's largest. hydrocarbon [00:13:27] producer and second largest oil [00:13:30] reserves country, the country which has the second largest oil reserves in the [00:13:34] world, so so Saudi Arabia being at [00:13:38] the center of it and it being signed in Mecca, certainly [00:13:42] all these are very significant, so I think it's a very [00:13:44] significant development, it's a landmark agreement [00:13:48] and I don't think these three will be the last, I think there may be other [00:13:52] countries in the region which may be thinking or [00:13:56] rethinking their strategy as well when they are [00:13:59] recalibrating their national security strategy in [00:14:02] the face of new realities that are [00:14:06] emerging out the war with [00:14:09] Iran. Prime Minister of Pakistan [00:14:13] Shahbaz Sharief described the signing the Makka joint defense agreement [00:14:16] alongside Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish [00:14:20] President as a historic milestone in [00:14:23] strengthening cooperation. among the three brotherly nations, the prime [00:14:27] minister said Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey stand united by [00:14:31] shared faith, friendship and a common commitment to peace, security [00:14:35] and stability, he said the landmark agreement signed in the bless [00:14:39] city of Makka Mukarrama would serve as a symbol of [00:14:42] unity and cooperation, acting as a shield [00:14:46] of peace for generations to come by contributing to prosperity for the three [00:14:50] countries and the fider muslim ummah, the prime minister also expressed [00:14:54] his deep appreciation for feed marshall sayyad Asir [00:14:58] acknowledging his tieless efforts, dedication and valuable [00:15:02] contributions towards advancing this important initiative. he reaffirmed [00:15:06] Pakistan's commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with Saudi [00:15:09] Arabia and Turkey for the shared objectives of peace, stability and [00:15:13] mutual [00:15:14] progress. [00:15:23] Turkish president has said that the Maka joint defense [00:15:27] agreement between Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan targets [00:15:31] no country. He added that agreement remains open to participation of [00:15:35] other friendly nations seeking peace, prosperity. and stability in [00:15:38] the region, a post on the Turkish social platform, erdan [00:15:42] said the agreement based on the principle of collective deterrance would strengthen [00:15:46] security and defense cooperation, joint defense industry projects and [00:15:50] counter terrorism efforts. He added that Turkey would maintain [00:15:54] its principal stands in favor of resolving conflicts and [00:15:58] crisis to dialogue and diplomacy based on respect for [00:16:01] international [00:16:02] law. [00:16:06] The joint. defense agreement asures new framework for collective [00:16:10] security among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. The [00:16:14] agreement strengthens collective deterence by presenting the combined [00:16:17] strategic weight of all three states as a single [00:16:21] defensive front. More in this report by correspondent Rana Abdullah. [00:16:25] Let's take a look. The historic Makka joint [00:16:29] defense agreement is here. Well, here is the question. What [00:16:33] happens when three major Muslim states decide that [00:16:37] this? security of one is the security of all. in Makkka [00:16:41] al mukarrama, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey [00:16:44] have taken a momentuous step towards collective [00:16:48] defense. Ahead the talks, Information Minister [00:16:51] Atarer shared that Prime Minister Shabaz Sharief and the Pakistani [00:16:55] Delegation received a warm welcome in Jadda, describing [00:16:59] it as reflection the enduring brotherhood between [00:17:02] Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Now then at Alsafa Palace [00:17:06] Prime Minister Sha Sharif Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman and Turkish [00:17:10] President Rasib Tayib Ardowan reviewed strategic [00:17:14] relations, defense cooperation and shared regional [00:17:17] concerns. The center piece was the signing the [00:17:21] Makka joint defense agreement built on long [00:17:25] standing ties, Islamic solidarity and growing [00:17:29] strategic cooperation. Its coe message is clear, [00:17:32] an armed attack against any one the three states will [00:17:36] be regarded. as attack against all [00:17:39] three. In practical terms, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and [00:17:43] Turkey will not be standing alone now, but together as an [00:17:47] iron wall. Any potential aggressor must [00:17:51] consider the combined strategic weight of all three [00:17:55] states. The agreement will also deepen defense [00:17:58] cooperation and strengthen collective deternance for Pakistan, [00:18:02] Saudi Arabia and Turkey. The message is one of [00:18:05] unity, strength and a share. commitment to peace, [00:18:09] security and stability across the region and [00:18:12] beyond. secretary general the [00:18:16] organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussan Brahim Tahar has welcomed the [00:18:19] Makka agreement on joint defense cooperation between Pakistan, Saudi [00:18:23] Arabia and Turkey. He described the agreement as a significant step [00:18:27] towards strengthening security cooperation, solidarity and [00:18:31] collective efforts among member states the Islamic [00:18:33] world. [00:18:38] Saudi foreign minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan welcomed the signing the joint [00:18:42] Makka defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, [00:18:45] Turkey, describing it as a historic milestone for peace, [00:18:49] security and prosperity among the three nations. In a statement posted on [00:18:53] his ex-account prince Fessel said the agreement signed by Saudi Crown Prince [00:18:57] Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Rajub Erduan and Prime Minister [00:19:01] Shahbas Sare reforms the longstanding brotherly ties and strategic [00:19:04] partnership between the two countries, he said the part. marks major step [00:19:08] forward in defense cooperation and reflects the share determination [00:19:12] of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey to address common security [00:19:16] challenges affecting regional peace and stability. The southi [00:19:20] foreign minister added that the agreement demonstrates [00:19:23] the collective political fail the three nations safeguard regional [00:19:27] security, promote stability and foster safer strategic [00:19:30] environment. Prince festle said the joint Makka defense agreement less the [00:19:34] foundation for a more secure future paving the faive for. greater [00:19:37] diplomatic economic opportunities and shared prosperity for the [00:19:41] people of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey. Saudi defense [00:19:45] minister Khalid bin Salman also lorded the joint Makka defense agreement [00:19:49] saying it establishes a framework for a long-term defense [00:19:52] partnership, enhancing deterrance coordination [00:19:56] and integration among the three countries and contributes to [00:20:00] regional and global security and [00:20:02] stability. [00:20:08] Deputy prime minister and foreign minister described the signing the [00:20:12] Makka joint defense agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and [00:20:15] Turkey as a significant milestone in strengthening strategic [00:20:19] cooperation and deepening ties among the three brotherly [00:20:22] nations. In his remarks on this occasion, the deputy prime minister said he [00:20:26] was honored to participate in the signing ceremony held in Makkah [00:20:29] Mukarrama, noting that the landmark accord represents an important step [00:20:33] towards advancing cooperation and reinforcing the enteroring bonds of [00:20:37] French. and partnership between the three countries, he expressed hope [00:20:41] that the agreement would contribute to greater regional [00:20:44] peace, stability and mutual prosperity for generations to come, the [00:20:48] deputy prime minister, highlighted that the partnership reflects the shared [00:20:52] commitment of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to working [00:20:55] together for a more peaceful and secure [00:20:58] future. [00:21:03] The trilateral defense aggrement is being assessed by geopolitical experts [00:21:07] as major step towards consolidating regional security [00:21:10] cooperation and strengthening collector defense [00:21:13] capabilities. Dr. Abdul Aziz, a Saudi foreign [00:21:17] policy expert and geopolitical analyst said "the pact represents a [00:21:21] strategic alignment between the three countries aimed at deterring [00:21:24] aggression and promoting stability rather than pursuing offensive [00:21:28] objectives. let's share with you what he said. region, [00:21:32] and I think right now, what we see here with the [00:21:35] trilateral agreement of or the Mecca [00:21:38] joint defense agreement is that it is [00:21:42] crystallization [00:21:44] of security partnerships and [00:21:48] security partners ' moving [00:21:51] forward, I think they all recognize that [00:21:55] basically Iran is a threat, but also not only [00:21:58] Iran is a threat, but most importantly, I think this is not a just [00:22:02] an, this is not an anti [00:22:05] Iran uh alliance, this is more of [00:22:09] a cooperation that [00:22:11] boosts all the respective members of [00:22:15] this alliance capabilities to defend themselves and [00:22:19] I think... "this is why well it's very significant, we're going [00:22:23] to see uh more, we're going to see two things, more [00:22:27] security partnerships, but also I anticipate we're going to see [00:22:31] more uh collective presence in the region. [00:22:34] Turkey and Pakistan are going to play also [00:22:38] bigger roles in the region and make sure that the security [00:22:42] vacuum is filled by such partnerships [00:22:45] and such a force rather than security [00:22:49] vacuum that is just..." simply filled by spoilers in the [00:22:52] region [00:22:53] um and so I think moving forward it's going to be very significant and I think and let me just [00:22:57] say one more thing about this, I would personally [00:23:01] suggest this is better thought off as regional approach [00:23:05] rather than regional architecture, security architecture, because I think [00:23:09] it's it gives enough leeway [00:23:12] for all the the respective members the state [00:23:15] of of this alliance to have space and build kind [00:23:19] of... build what they want to see from their own, [00:23:23] build what is necessary for them, rather than [00:23:26] entrap entrapping themselves with each other, and I think this is why it's going to [00:23:30] be, it's going to have a long life ahead of [00:23:33] us. Iranian president [00:23:36] masosashian has said Tehran is ready for dialogue with the United States [00:23:40] in Europe, but will not accept demands that compromise Iran soveranty [00:23:44] or defense capabilities, speaking in comments carried by [00:23:48] Iran's er broadcaster position. defended his government's [00:23:51] decision to pursue negotiations, saying the moves aimed at [00:23:55] protecting national interest and avoiding unnecessary conflict. He [00:23:59] rejected claims that his administration [00:24:01] had pressured Iran's leadership into talks, saying major decisions were made in [00:24:05] coordination with the country's leadership and armed forces. [00:24:08] Saseshan also criticized European countries saying Tehran had reach [00:24:11] understandings with European representatives during diplomatic efforts, but that [00:24:15] Europe ultimately failed to act independently. The Iranian president [00:24:19] said amacy and military strength were not contradictory, [00:24:23] stressing that Rban would not agree to dismantle its defense [00:24:26] capabilities. [00:24:30] Iranian deputy foreign minister Kazim Gharibabadi has called for security in the [00:24:34] Persian gulf to be managed by countries in the region without foreign [00:24:38] intervention.
