Hami [00:12:55] in the first segment we are going to understand exactly [00:12:59] where the US Iran conflict stands right now [00:13:03] and what else is happening in the broader middle eastern [00:13:06] region. In the second segment we are going to talk about [00:13:10] artificial intelligence which is not stopping short of giving [00:13:14] us very shocking surprises. What is [00:13:18] at stake and what are the problems the world is facing [00:13:22] right now because the artificial intent. [00:13:26] there are number of important things [00:13:30] related to artificial intelligence by some the leading [00:13:33] giants the industry have been said will be talking about that [00:13:37] particular aspect in the second segment of today's [00:13:41] show. let's begin with the first one when we [00:13:44] specifically talk about the developments happening as far as the US, [00:13:48] Iran conflict is concerned, there is a [00:13:52] stalemate, although there is lot of... effort that is [00:13:56] happening at the same time tandem [00:13:58] with the to resume the [00:14:02] negotiations to de-escalate the situation because the things are [00:14:05] expanding on multiple fronts when we specifically talk about there [00:14:09] is heightened escalation when it comes to Saudi Arabia [00:14:13] and Hutis, Houties tightening their grip around [00:14:17] Babel Mandab around the Red Sea coast [00:14:20] and that particular dimension is actually ex [00:14:25] the situation in already volatile middle eastern [00:14:29] region also when we talk about because the disruption in the [00:14:33] straight of homos and babal mandab there is huge [00:14:37] pressure when it comes to the oil shipment that is [00:14:40] translating into more inflationary pressure [00:14:44] as well when we talk about gaza that remains to be [00:14:47] unresolved although the bombardment [00:14:51] on that scale isn't happening but it continues when it comes to [00:14:55] as well Israeli atrocities in that [00:14:59] particular onclave, we also know for fact that [00:15:03] number of other measures which are being taken by the Israeli regime, [00:15:07] when we talk about Israeli transgression towards [00:15:10] Lebanon is also concerned, over here there are certain [00:15:14] developments that took place in last few days that need to be [00:15:17] mentioned, when we talk about that very important meeting [00:15:21] between Iran's foreign minister Mr. Abbas Sarakchi and [00:15:25] Chinese foreign minister Mr. Wongi and China has urged [00:15:29] both the sides to resume negotiations and return to that [00:15:32] framework that is known as Islamabad memorandum of [00:15:36] understanding or Also it has offered any sort of [00:15:39] role it could actually play in order to [00:15:43] deescalate the situation at the same time putting [00:15:46] its weight behind Iran's right of [00:15:50] sovereignty, security, dignity and the [00:15:54] legitimate interests. What does that exactly mean? At the [00:15:57] same time there is another development when we talk about the United States of [00:16:01] America, Fox News in its latest poll [00:16:05] says that around 60% percent the Americans [00:16:08] believe that this decision the Trump administration to [00:16:12] wage that invasion in the war against Iran was [00:16:16] wrong and 71% believe that there is no [00:16:20] clear exit strategy as far as Trump's administrations approach [00:16:24] towards this conflict is concerned and [00:16:26] also 47% Americans [00:16:29] believe that this conflict is going to make [00:16:33] America unsafe in the longer run. [00:16:37] Also at the same time, there [00:16:39] is very [00:16:40] important thing that needs to be mentioned when we talk about that very first [00:16:44] attack by [00:16:45] the US and Israel against Iran on 28th of [00:16:49] February [00:16:50] in which there was one primary school in Minab that was [00:16:54] targeted as result of which over 150 [00:16:58] people died including 120 school [00:17:01] children now the UN fact finding mission [00:17:05] report says their reasonable. grounds to believe that the [00:17:09] US committed war crimes and this particular report [00:17:13] has been rejected by the white house saying that [00:17:16] America doesn't target civilians, these three very [00:17:20] important developments and also the escalating situation when it comes to [00:17:24] His and Saudi Arabia, what are the options with the kingdom lying right [00:17:28] now? there are also reports that suggest there are [00:17:31] certain interventions being made, there are reports that [00:17:35] suggest that the US is trying to make contact with the hoothies in [00:17:39] order to restrain them, also china has made [00:17:43] contact with Iran in order to restrain [00:17:45] houties in going ahead with their [00:17:49] activities in the region, all these important aspects of [00:17:53] for discussion in this particular segment of today's show, for that we [00:17:57] are honored to being joined by Miss Mantham, she is a [00:18:00] journalist, joining us from Riyad, Saudi Arabia, Spanther, thank you very [00:18:04] much for your time for being with us on unfold tonight really. that [00:18:08] also we are honored to being joined by Miss Mikumary [00:18:11] Isabel, she is um [00:18:14] the the middle east and North Africa [00:18:18] relations expert, thank you very much for your time, [00:18:22] also for being with us on the show tonight, really appreciate that, [00:18:25] let's begin with you, [00:18:29] Smantha, when we talk about this escalating tension [00:18:32] between His and Kingdom of Saudi [00:18:36] Arabia, have tightened their grip [00:18:40] around the Babel Mander, but there is a disruption that is [00:18:44] being reported from there also, we know for fact that there was a huge pressure [00:18:47] because the disruption in the straight of homose on the oil [00:18:51] markets, the oil prices kept rising, what is the [00:18:55] situation when it comes to this particular [00:18:59] front between kingdom of Saudi Arabia and [00:19:01] thehooties? well hello, good evening and it's [00:19:05] lovely to join you from add: I'm here on [00:19:09] the ground and yesterday evening we heard explosions [00:19:13] and we felt our house here shake due [00:19:17] to the impact and we had alert signals on our mobile [00:19:21] phones that sounded a bit like house alarms so it woke us up [00:19:25] around 3:30 am in the morning now this [00:19:28] was a really scary experience and it made me realize as a [00:19:32] journalist that this conflict the Iran war [00:19:36] has now come to home, it's now here in Saudi [00:19:40] Arabia, when we think the Hithis, we [00:19:44] call them Iran aligned militia, that they are [00:19:47] backed [00:19:48] by Iran, and what has happened since July is that the Hutis have been [00:19:52] attacking directly Saudi Arabia, they've been [00:19:55] attacking different parts of mainly the [00:19:58] southwest, Abbha, [00:20:01] taiv, and then last week there was this attempt on [00:20:05] perhaps Mecca, which the hoothies have... denied, but a drone was [00:20:09] intercepted and fell onto the ground just south of [00:20:12] Mecca, and given how this is the [00:20:15] religious base for Muslims all around the world, that [00:20:19] was extremely significant, and there were so many social media posts [00:20:23] and outrage from the Saudi community that [00:20:26] such a place would be targeted by the [00:20:30] Houties, now over the past eight weeks, it's worth [00:20:34] also saying that the Hutis have got this... [00:20:38] um embargo on the west coast of Yemen and they have taken [00:20:42] a hold there so they're making it impossible for the Saudis [00:20:46] to export oil via the Babel Mandob straight. which is [00:20:50] extremely narrow, much narrower than the straight of horms and so [00:20:54] now the kingdom in terms of its oil exports is according to [00:20:58] sources a deadlock position and uh [00:21:01] Iran aligned militia in Iraq, in [00:21:05] Yemen, Hezbulah in Lebanon, they are all [00:21:08] surrounding the kingdom and we're in this point of [00:21:11] stalemate, now crown prince bahammed [00:21:15] bin Salmon according to sources, contacted [00:21:19] us. contacted president Donald Trump, rank him [00:21:22] twice on Friday, requesting for US [00:21:26] military intervention to support with strikes against the [00:21:29] hooties, and this was denied by President Donald Trump, [00:21:33] he does not want to engage in another military conflict, [00:21:37] as he's already now around $46 billion dollars [00:21:41] into arms that have been used with [00:21:44] Iran, and there are question marks over the um supplies [00:21:48] and storage that... the US actually have to [00:21:51] use, never mind, defend itself in the [00:21:54] region, and so now we've reached this point, [00:21:58] seek your pardon, you have given us an overview of what exactly the major [00:22:02] developments have been when it comes to this specific front [00:22:06] between his and kingdom of Saudi Arabia, [00:22:08] now this particular, it has been reported number of [00:22:12] media as to the request that you have already alluded to by crown [00:22:16] prince muhammad bin Salman towards the United State. of [00:22:20] America, as for your understanding, what could be the major [00:22:24] reasons behind the US not [00:22:27] coming directly to support the kingdom [00:22:31] at this particular point in time, and as per your understanding, [00:22:35] what could it potentially take to trigger that military [00:22:39] support by the United States of America towards the [00:22:42] kingdom? well, Donald Trump, I i [00:22:46] believe, and and it's widely regarded that he hasn't intervened and [00:22:50] sp the investment that NBS has made into the US [00:22:53] economy, I think he hasn't stepped up and interveing due to the [00:22:56] mid-terms that are now seven weeks away, and given that [00:23:00] Donald Trump is at his lowest ever point in opinion polls and [00:23:04] most Americans disapprove the war in [00:23:07] Iran, it would figure that he's not willing to [00:23:11] get involved with another conflict, civil war in this [00:23:14] region, that's my take on it, now um, [00:23:18] what's it going to take for the US? intervene, well that really is the big [00:23:22] question right now, and what I've seen journalistically is that the [00:23:25] BBC, Sky News, they have not been reporting this [00:23:29] story, they have not been live reporting this story, giving [00:23:33] information, and I find that really strange, [00:23:36] writers have reported what's occurred in terms of uh king [00:23:40] Khalid airport, there was a storage fuel tanker that was struck [00:23:44] and there was huge black flames going up in the air around [00:23:48] midday today in Riad. Uh, we don't know, it hasn't yet [00:23:52] been confirmed that that was a hoothy strike, so we can't say where that came [00:23:56] from. What's it going to take for the US to get [00:23:59] involved? Maybe some more negotiations with [00:24:02] NBS to Trump himself, perhaps the [00:24:06] Mecca defense agreement with Pakistan, Turkey [00:24:10] and Saudi Arabia, perhaps there will be conversations there with leaders that will [00:24:14] say, actually, we are now going to step this up, and [00:24:16] Pakistani air forces are going to get in. to [00:24:20] help defend Saudi Arabia, or perhaps it's [00:24:24] soft power and it's coming to the table in terms of negotiation, [00:24:28] and this is something that uh US [00:24:31] politicians have been asking for, Marco Rubio has wanted [00:24:35] negotiations, but they've been applying pressure [00:24:38] via um taking over Iran's economy and making it [00:24:42] very difficult for Iran so they must hopefully come to the table [00:24:46] and discuss and come to terms perhaps back to the mou. [00:24:50] but for now this is what is scary about the number of very important points [00:24:54] that you've already mentioned in this particular take also santha i'll [00:24:58] come back to you for the number of other aspects i want your understanding [00:25:01] about i'll move to miku what's your [00:25:05] understanding when we specifically look at the [00:25:08] approach by president donald trump what do you [00:25:12] think would trigger any sort of a military help or support on the part [00:25:16] the us towards the kingdom with this tightening? the [00:25:20] grip by the othis and that clearly is causing a huge [00:25:24] disruption when it comes to the oil exports the [00:25:26] kingdom. yes, thank you so much for having [00:25:30] me first um on your show and it's very [00:25:34] hard to say what uh can trigger a US [00:25:37] response or intervention, because for [00:25:41] now um as it was previously [00:25:44] mentioned the US is in well is [00:25:47] expecting the mid terms. "and we know that [00:25:51] Trump has done nothing uh of what he [00:25:55] he he promised to the people, like he he promes no more wars [00:25:59] and foreign interventions, and yet here we are. [00:26:03] uh the US being involved again in the middle east and not [00:26:06] only, so for now it's very hard to [00:26:10] say, because um, unless the [00:26:13] crown prince keeps insisting and [00:26:17] wait after the midterms, I don't [00:26:21] believe that the US will interfere no matter what, but [00:26:25] what what if there was some actor, for [00:26:29] example the hootis that would have been acting [00:26:32] against Israel, so do you think the US's [00:26:36] response would have been pretty much similar to what it is right [00:26:40] now as far as the support is concerned towards the [00:26:44] allies? um, no, if the hoot is [00:26:48] would have attacked Israel, for sure you would have the US [00:26:52] military bomb, yemen non-stop, [00:26:55] so for sure there is difference how the [00:26:58] US reacts when an arab count [00:27:02] is being b and it's an ally, we we know that [00:27:06] Saudi is ally to the United States and when Israel [00:27:10] is being threatened or bombed. Okay, so [00:27:14] Sanenta, what's your understanding, had there been [00:27:18] Israel in question, do you think the similar sort of an approach [00:27:22] on the part of Trump administration? I [00:27:26] find it just so ironic that it was [00:27:29] Israel's call to the US to take... on this war of choice in [00:27:33] Iran that did it really need to happen, that was all [00:27:37] about the nuclear powers of Iran, Iran cannot have [00:27:41] nuclear capability, here we are seven months [00:27:44] into the war in Iran and the discussion of nuclear capability is not [00:27:48] taking place. Having said that, let's a little [00:27:52] proceed a little further when we specifically talk about the the [00:27:56] recent developments that have actually happened, I want your [00:27:59] understanding uh, firstly... yours when it comes [00:28:03] to China approaching Iran in [00:28:07] order to urge them to restraint hoothies, do you think that sort of [00:28:11] an intervention could be of any use? and also there are [00:28:14] reports that suggest that there has [00:28:18] been a contact established between the US and Houties, [00:28:22] US asking Hutis to restrain themselves, do you think any the [00:28:26] intervention out these two could be workable at the [00:28:29] moment? I certainly hope so and do [00:28:32] believe that the China call to Iran is extremely [00:28:36] positive, we know that Iran and China have [00:28:40] relationships, we cannot verify 100% what goes on, but there is [00:28:44] strongly believed that Iran, well we know that Iran sells a lot of its [00:28:48] oil to China, and there is the belief, there is there are those who [00:28:52] report that China um has sent [00:28:56] weapons to Iran and is involved in sort [00:28:59] of a weapon relationship, both defense, and [00:29:02] attacking military supplies to Iran, there are [00:29:06] skeptics about that though, that isn't confirmed, but that is something that is [00:29:09] considered to have happened, so the China Iran relationship [00:29:13] is interesting, and given that we know so little about [00:29:17] Iran, we wonder how seven months into this [00:29:20] war, how are they still here? President Trump told us this would be [00:29:24] four to six week thing, and the US military, the strongest military in [00:29:28] the world would completely abolish the leadership a... [00:29:32] Iran and there would be a takeover and the Iranian people would be [00:29:36] liberated by the IRGC, well that hasn't [00:29:39] happened and there has been this resurrection of new leaders in [00:29:43] Iran and um running the country and continuing with [00:29:47] their military campaign very strategically thinking about how they [00:29:51] can have the upper hand on the US in the region, so [00:29:55] China's talks here with Iran are extremely positive, China [00:29:59] have been very quiet over this past seven months which... makes [00:30:03] people nervous when you're quiet, they want to when you're sup when you're power like [00:30:06] China, it's it's nervous, it's makes us nervous to think, like why aren't they saying [00:30:10] anything, what's going to happen, what's going to come out of China, so I think this is a [00:30:14] good thing, in terms of discussion US with the [00:30:17] hoothies, I would love to know, I would love to be a fly on the wall like who [00:30:21] is is it Marco Rubia, who is having these conversations and with whom [00:30:25] in the hoothies, the latest statement from the hoothi chief was [00:30:29] actually that the Houties were 100% percent [00:30:33] ready to fight for what they believed in, in their [00:30:36] sandals, with their swords, climbing [00:30:39] mountains, very hungry, yemen is the [00:30:43] poorest country in the world [00:30:44] and that they were fighting for something that they all believed in, they're not [00:30:48] in the position of US military who have been away from home [00:30:52] for months and months and months - who are [00:30:56] very unhappy on these um on these uh [00:30:59] military ships in the Middle East. And [00:31:03] um, I also found it.
