[00:08:34] episode of unfold in the first segment we will be talking about [00:08:37] Pakistan's counter terrorism strategy and [00:08:41] also keeping in. view the latest [00:08:44] interview by DGPR Liftenant General Ahmed [00:08:48] Sharif Chaudhary with Al Arabia English in which he has [00:08:51] categorically talked about no dialogue with the [00:08:55] terrorists however there could be engagement with [00:08:59] Afghanistan but Pakistan's demand is clear and [00:09:02] concrete that the Afghan soil shouldn't be used for the [00:09:06] terrorist purposes against Pakistan. In the second segment [00:09:10] there is another interesting topic President. Donald Trump says that the US [00:09:14] has reached an agreement with Denmark and Greenland giving [00:09:18] Washington permanent control of Greenland [00:09:21] security and all other needs. What [00:09:25] does that exactly signif at this particular point in time? Given the [00:09:29] fact the multiple crises which are unfolding as we [00:09:32] speak around the globe. Would this particular [00:09:36] agreement between the United States of America and [00:09:40] Denmark approved to be a fresh breath of [00:09:44] air, that would be the topic for the second segment of today's [00:09:50] we know for fact Pakistan has witnessed resurgence of terrorism [00:09:54] ever since the Afghan Taliban took over took over [00:09:58] control in Kabul back in 2021. they have [00:10:01] ruled that warwareged country for more than five years [00:10:05] now. they had the commitment in the form the doha [00:10:09] peace accord that they won't allow the Afghan to be used [00:10:13] against any other country, but we have seen over the last five [00:10:16] years Afghanistan soil has become a safe [00:10:20] heaven for the militant organizations and terrorist outfits [00:10:24] perpetating. heinous acts of terrorism against the regional countries, [00:10:28] most particularly when we talk about Pakistan. On [00:10:32] number of occasions, Pakistan has shared irrefutable [00:10:35] evidence the involvement of Afghan nationals in Heinous acts [00:10:39] of terrorism here in Pakistan, but there has been a [00:10:43] pattern of denial on the part the Afghan defactor [00:10:46] authorities, and sometimes they just give [00:10:50] the verbal assurances, but at the same time we [00:10:54] will be talking about those important points during an [00:10:58] interview by DGIISPR Liftenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhari [00:11:01] to [00:11:02] Al Arabia English in which he has categorically ruled out any [00:11:06] sort of negotiation or dialogue with any [00:11:09] terrorist network however he says the [00:11:12] engagement with Afghanistan can be done but Pakistan has [00:11:16] clear and a concrete demand that [00:11:19] Afghanistan soil should not be used for the [00:11:22] terrorist purposes and Taliban should be upholding their [00:11:26] international commitment under the doha [00:11:30] accord, at the same time he is also alluded to [00:11:34] fact that 80% the Afghan nationals are [00:11:37] involved in the suicide bombings that have happened here in [00:11:41] Pakistan. Referring to Balochistan, he has said there is no [00:11:45] public support support for those terrorist groups who [00:11:49] are operating or trying to bring [00:11:52] instability inside Boloche. Pakistan, there is also [00:11:56] factor of external sponsorship, and he has also [00:12:00] referred to India in that particular regard. We know for fact, there [00:12:04] is a track record of India when it comes [00:12:07] to the export of state [00:12:10] sponsored terrorism. These important aspects of [00:12:14] discussion, for that we are honored to being joined by Mr. Retired Sied [00:12:18] Khan is the defense analyst. Mr. Air Marshall Said Khan, thank you very much for your [00:12:22] time for being with us on unfold tonight, really appreciate that. Also [00:12:25] at the same time we are honored to being joined by Mr. Bugadia, retired [00:12:29] Haris Nawaz, he is defense analyst. Bigedia Navas, thank you very much for your time [00:12:33] also for being with us on the show tonight to really appreciate that. [00:12:37] Let's begin the discussion with you a Marshal Saied Khan, [00:12:41] when we specifically talk about Pakistan's [00:12:44] fight against terrorism, now Pakistan is [00:12:48] exercised strategic restraint urging upon the Afghan [00:12:52] defactor authorities to take some sort of a concrete. [00:12:55] action against the militant outfits operating from [00:12:58] Afghanistan soil, now looking at [00:13:02] this particular warning that they should be upholding the international commitment as [00:13:06] per the doha accord, or do you see any sort of a [00:13:10] shift when it comes to Pakistan's current or emerging policy [00:13:14] towards Afghanistan from strategic restraint, [00:13:17] engagement, towards more assertive [00:13:21] security [00:13:35] to look [00:13:36] you know at the present relationship between Pakistan and [00:13:39] Afghanistan, I think we'll have to go five years back when in [00:13:42] 2021 the Americans left Afghanistan [00:13:46] and the present regime took over the [00:13:50] reins in Afghanistan, the country which [00:13:53] came for. forward to help [00:13:56] them was Pakistan and before that [00:14:00] also we had actually uh given shelter, [00:14:04] protection and a home to all these leaders who are [00:14:08] presently in Afghanistan in Pakistan, their children are still [00:14:12] studying in our schools and colleges and their wives are still [00:14:16] here with us in Pakistan, so Pakistan played [00:14:20] the role of a Muslim brother and elder [00:14:23] brother for. more than three decades [00:14:26] now, but [00:14:28] unfortunately [00:14:30] you know our eastern neighbor India after filling [00:14:34] twice to in 2019 and [00:14:37] 2025 by you know [00:14:40] inflicting any damage on Pakistan a [00:14:44] non-conventional skirmish, they have [00:14:47] now started spending lot of [00:14:50] money on the outfits that are [00:14:54] there and Afghanistan and our grivance [00:14:58] with the present government in Afghanistan is only one [00:15:02] that we request them diplomatically to our friends and [00:15:05] ourselves also that please control these outfits [00:15:09] and they should not interfere or send their parties [00:15:13] to Pakistan to [00:15:16] create destabilization, but the amount of [00:15:20] money being spent by India and Israel is so much [00:15:24] that off late the Afghan government has started looking the [00:15:28] other way around. I'll just give you figure. In [00:15:30] 2025 and 26, there has been a [00:15:34] search of more than 100%. [00:15:37] sent in the casualties in the last three [00:15:40] years Jaward Pakistan has lost more [00:15:44] than 5ive00 civilians and our [00:15:48] soldiers which is very big number for any country to [00:15:52] lose and this spike speecially came more in [00:15:55] 2026 and that is why in February [00:15:58] 26 Pakistan declared an open war against [00:16:02] Afghanistan and then we asked our air force to [00:16:06] carry out where very accurate strikes [00:16:10] in the month of February, March and [00:16:12] August, and that is why we now see that [00:16:16] the number the incidents that are happening [00:16:20] now has taken a downward trend, but unfortunately [00:16:24] just two days ago we had that incident in [00:16:27] Kohat where Mulla [00:16:31] Gul Bahadur's you know faction has [00:16:35] now accepted that they were responsible for that [00:16:38] blast, so this was very unfortunate incident in which we [00:16:42] lost nearly 31 of our civilians and [00:16:45] policeman, so unfortunately the [00:16:49] solution Pakistan is heading towards is the only one, [00:16:52] one diplomatically we are still engaging with them through [00:16:56] our friends in Qatar, in China [00:16:59] and in Turkey, and that is why [00:17:03] Jaward, you saw that in the previous week the uh [00:17:08] intelligence chiefs of turkey and Qatar were there in [00:17:11] Afghanistan and then they visited us in Pakistan and when they were [00:17:15] visiting us this incident of Guhat [00:17:19] happened so unfortunately you [00:17:22] know the Afghan government did not even respect you know the [00:17:26] interlocutors and moderators who are our brothers and [00:17:30] they carried out this activity when they were here as our [00:17:33] guests but I think the second one is [00:17:37] what you know, I would propose at this time. I [00:17:40] think enough of diplomacy, enough of talking, enough of [00:17:44] being a good brother, it is now time to have [00:17:48] no, no man zone between Afghanistan [00:17:52] and Pakistan. It can be five kilometers as you [00:17:56] know proposed earlier, I would say 15 would be [00:18:00] very comfortable now, and we should have that [00:18:03] buffer zone between the two countries and anyone who comes should be. [00:18:07] as an enemy and should be taken out, we [00:18:11] should continue to remain a heart state, yes, we have lost billions of [00:18:15] dollars of trade with Afghanistan, but it is okay at [00:18:19] the cost of our security and for [00:18:23] the precious lives that are people [00:18:26] hold, this is [00:18:27] not a big loss, 6 billion dollars is not a loss for [00:18:31] which we should be so right right, the very important point [00:18:35] i like to take this: very point to brigadier Haris was [00:18:39] brigadier Haris was when we talk about the buffer zone um [00:18:43] now as air marshall said khan is referred to there is [00:18:46] suggestion regarding five kilometers what he [00:18:49] has given his understanding regarding that is around [00:18:53] 15 kilomes what's your understanding how is it doable we [00:18:57] know for fact that Pakistan went into a gigantic [00:19:01] exercise of [00:19:02] you know of that border fencing also but [00:19:06] despite that we we saw we saw there were number of [00:19:09] instances that from other side the border that [00:19:13] the militants tried to uproot that fencing as well, what [00:19:17] about this buffer zone, what would it take to make it [00:19:20] workable? what i personally feel whatever air [00:19:24] mar said, think it is plausible and possible also [00:19:28] and buffer zone we have already laid down proper fencing [00:19:31] over 2600 kilometers of [00:19:35] fencing and very effective fencing. the problem is they don't [00:19:38] accept it and we can go for five to 10 kilometer definitely [00:19:42] it is possible but it has to be coordinated with our friends [00:19:46] and also with the but let tell you more important [00:19:50] is that in dha agreement when americans [00:19:53] and over there they had agreed on [00:19:57] four points number one [00:20:01] was that whatever american i going to [00:20:05] release tariban from the prisons. they will never [00:20:08] carry the but they did other way around. number [00:20:12] two, they agreed, it was decided that taliban will [00:20:16] go and carry out negotiation with the one [00:20:19] government asmani and then they will take over, but they went [00:20:23] and forcefully. number three three was they will not [00:20:27] support any cross border terrorism, they will not allow cross [00:20:30] terrorism, the neighboring country, they never responded for that [00:20:34] also, and last was very important that within six months. [00:20:38] they will have a general election prepare and [00:20:42] transparent and a one people will select the government the choice, [00:20:46] it should be politically inclusive ethnic balance. [00:20:50] and then I think they will develop the friendly relationship with our friendlation country [00:20:54] word, they don't have diplom [00:20:55] relations and of course they good [00:20:59] relation so all four they have not [00:21:02] done it, the most [00:21:06] important thing is it was not decided there if they don't accept and [00:21:09] don't agree and the they rule out these thing then what penalty they [00:21:13] will even today [00:21:17] Americans are giving 30 million dollars. per [00:21:20] week to Afghan taliban regimes [00:21:24] without any check and balance, they left 7.2 [00:21:28] billion weapons ammunition, latest american weapon [00:21:31] ammunition unattended, they left in Afghanistan [00:21:35] so that it should fall into the band of all terrorist organizations [00:21:39] and obviously it should be used then of course for terrorism in [00:21:43] central Asia, China and Pakistan, so these are the realities you must [00:21:47] understand and that's so now Pakistan is the only. country [00:21:50] confronting fighting terrorism against [00:21:54] p hindustan then you talk [00:21:58] about this is kharasan group and so many [00:22:01] other organization and then nobody in the world has [00:22:05] paid any attention we have [00:22:08] seen nations reports we have seen united nations report we [00:22:12] have seen security council report we seen russian report seen [00:22:16] everybody said 24 tax organization [00:22:25] is the executive [00:22:48] with you, let me once again proceed to Air Marshall Said Khan. Air [00:22:52] Marshall, there is maximum that is pertain to law, justice should not [00:22:56] only be done but should manifestly and undoubtedly be seen to be [00:22:59] done. Now when it comes to Pakistan's demand from the defacto authorities [00:23:03] in Afghanistan, keeping this particular [00:23:06] maximum, Pakistan wants the concrete action on the part the [00:23:10] defacto authorities as per their commitment under the Doha Peace [00:23:14] Accord, so in what forms [00:23:18] that particular upholding. commitment on the part [00:23:21] the Afghan Taliban could be seen manifestly and [00:23:25] undoubtedly? [00:23:28] Jaward, only [00:23:32] one thing is enough to show that the government of [00:23:35] Afghanistan is involved in ensuring [00:23:38] that you know the nefarious elements from [00:23:42] Afghanistan come into Pakistan. Of late, [00:23:45] in this year only we have killed more than 400. [00:23:50] terrorists on our soil and out them more than [00:23:53] 326 terrorists were afghan [00:23:56] nationals, now if they were not Afghan nationals, we [00:24:00] could have said that [00:24:01] it is an internal issue and like the [00:24:04] Afghan spokes person, official [00:24:08] spokesperson zabiullah mujahid, he always keeps [00:24:11] saying that you know TTP is an internal [00:24:15] issue of Pakistan and the Pakistanis must handle it within Pakistan. [00:24:20] "you know, if it was, we would have not requested our [00:24:24] friends, especially Qatar and Turkey to [00:24:27] come, send their top, [00:24:29] you know, intelligence people to Afghanistan, because [00:24:33] the these top people went to Afghanistan with the evidence that was [00:24:37] provided by Pakistan, and they were convinced [00:24:41] that yes it is the Afghanies who are you [00:24:44] know closing eyes to the infiltrators who are using [00:24:48] their land to..." for nefarious activities against [00:24:51] Pakistan, now once they went, they showed that evidence, I [00:24:55] seek your pardon for the [00:25:00] to it as well, regarding their denial that when they say [00:25:03] that it's perhaps Pakistan's internal issue dealing with ban TTP, the [00:25:07] fitnah, there is report by the UN analytical [00:25:11] support and sanction monitoring team that says that [00:25:15] Taliban have tried to relocate around [00:25:18] 20 of those militants belonging to [00:25:21] TTP further away from Pakistan's borders, so [00:25:25] if they are present over there on Afghanistan soil, [00:25:29] hence they are relocating them farther away from that, that a [00:25:33] way also proves the presence of TTP [00:25:36] militant members over there on Afghanistan soil, please go [00:25:39] ahead. I fully agree with you, [00:25:42] Jaward, the United Nations Committee [00:25:46] very plainly even mentioned the number of ' [00:25:50] terrorists over there in Afghanistan and they say that more than [00:25:54] 20000 from different factions are taking refuge [00:25:58] on the soil of Afghanistan. Actually, Jaward, we [00:26:02] need to understand. and that this present government has [00:26:05] failed completely to provide any type [00:26:08] of you know any type of relief to the people of [00:26:12] Afghanistan and as such they have made you [00:26:15] know this destabilization in various [00:26:19] countries as source of earning money. we [00:26:23] Pakistan is the not is not the only country which is facing [00:26:27] destabilization from Afghanistan. China is facing [00:26:30] it, Tajikistan is facing. facing it, Uzbekistan is [00:26:34] facing it, so all those countries that neighbor [00:26:38] Afghanistan, they are the countries who are affected by the factions [00:26:42] that are over there, and that is why Jabad, I would [00:26:46] again like to say that you know enough of talking now, it [00:26:49] is now time to wage a war against Afghanistan, [00:26:53] if you look, if you listen to Zabiullah Mujahid's interview just [00:26:57] two days back to the same you know anchor [00:27:00] who took the... interview of DG [00:27:03] ISPR, [00:27:05] you know, he was very, [00:27:07] you know, apologetic, he knew that the world is [00:27:11] not now listening to their point of view, and the world is [00:27:15] pretty convinced that it is the Afghan government that is [00:27:19] taking money for all these defarious activities, [00:27:23] so he was trying to you know sugar coat everything that was happening [00:27:26] and trying to put the blame on Pakistan, but that is why I'm [00:27:30] saying it is now time, to you know finish this sweet [00:27:34] talking, finish being the big brother, we must [00:27:37] decide on the durant line, we must decide on the buffer [00:27:41] zone, and if the afghan government does not listen, we [00:27:45] should fight for peace, exactly, that is exactly [00:27:49] the point, i would like to take it to brigadier nawaz also, brigadier [00:27:53] nawaz, said khan is very clear when it [00:27:57] comes to, he said enough of talking with the defacto authorities in [00:28:01] Afghanistan, it's time to take a concrete action, go [00:28:05] kinetic and [00:28:06] you know get our task done when it comes [00:28:09] to uprooting this particular scurge and the menas of terrorism is [00:28:13] concerned. let me refer back to that particular statement by [00:28:17] DGIISPR himself that if the Afghan [00:28:20] Taliban don't uphold their international commitment as per the doha [00:28:24] peace accord in case of that failure Pakistan [00:28:28] has the right to self-defend. Could you give us an understand? [00:28:33] we we know for fact that with precision strikes Pakistan has already [00:28:36] done um in this particular year, what [00:28:39] exactly more is required on that particular [00:28:42] front? [00:28:51] this question is for you, when it comes to Pakistan's right to self [00:28:55] defend, how it could be done [00:28:59] more when we see the precision strikes already happening against the... [00:29:02] terrorist targets in [00:29:04] Afghanistan, [00:29:16] coming back to you, Marshall, what's your understanding? you're the [00:29:20] view, enough of talking when we talk about the right to self [00:29:23] defend under international law, what else [00:29:27] needs to be done more on this particular front? we've seen a number of [00:29:31] precision strike. already carried out by [00:29:33] Pakistan, [00:29:37] Jaward, I think the modern warfare has [00:29:40] shown to the world now that only air power [00:29:44] alone can not make you win the war, it can make you win the [00:29:48] war 90%, but for the rest 10% you have to put the [00:29:51] boots on ground, right? we have seen that [00:29:54] in Iran recently, we have seen [00:29:58] that in Afghanistan for the last 25 years and [00:30:01] we have seen this happening now between Hothis and [00:30:05] Saudi Arabia, air power itself alone [00:30:08] cannot you know win a war, it [00:30:11] can [00:30:13] you know severely damage the enemy or [00:30:16] severely reduce its capabilities, but at the end [00:30:20] the day the conflict can only be one by putting boots on [00:30:24] ground, so I suggest that you know Pakistan air force [00:30:28] has lot of capability, we have very good intelligence in Afghanistan about [00:30:33] the terrorist hide out camps and from where the taskils are made and sent [00:30:37] to Pakistan, we must take our friends in the [00:30:41] region and internationally into confidence [00:30:45] and we must [00:30:46] you know start sablits creek
