[00:01:28] President Zartari, Prime Minister [00:01:29] of Shash. we discussed political and security situation agree [00:01:32] of to conveen national assembly sunday sessions on October [00:01:35] 13th [00:02:01] of [00:02:01] of [00:02:11] Those of are the headlines and now for the news in details: US President Donald Trump urge [00:02:14] Ukraine to replace Zelinsky with new leader lashing out at him for strikes on [00:02:18] Russian oil refineries that have contributed to pre-election high diesel [00:02:21] prices. [00:02:22] a Trump told reporters at the white house that he had told Zelensky that Ukraine [00:02:26] could take action against Russia but should avoid targeting refinery. [00:02:31] I look [00:02:32] of at it differently, [00:02:32] of Zelinsky could have settled this war many [00:02:34] in times, in many, many times and he cho, he [00:02:38] chooses not to, very difficult, it's a war [00:02:42] that should have never been started, if I were [00:02:45] of president, if the [00:02:45] of election weren't rigged, I would have been president and that war would have never [00:02:49] started, but he could have settled it many times and he chose not [00:02:52] to, we said you can do whatever you [00:02:54] of want of of to Russia, don't [00:02:55] of hit the refineries because that's a world problem that's [00:02:59] of caused. and he wants to [00:03:01] in make problems for the world, he wants to make problems [00:03:03] of for our farmers, our ranchers with [00:03:06] of of diesel fuel, because Russia supplies a large portion [00:03:10] of the diesel fuel throughout the world, and we told them, do whatever [00:03:14] you want, but don't hit the diesel fuel, because there's a big [00:03:17] problem, and what does he do? he goes and hits the diesel [00:03:21] fuel, he can do whatever he wants, but you can't do that, [00:03:24] because we have a world problem, and the problem is [00:03:28] caused by the lack. of refineries [00:03:30] of for diesel fuel, so what does he do? he goes and hits [00:03:33] refineries, and i said to him, do what you want, don't hit [00:03:37] refineries, there's plenty of targets, don't hit refined, and he went out [00:03:41] and he hit, and he's not going to affect our farmers and he's not going to [00:03:45] in affect our ranchers [00:03:46] of and he's not going to affect the rest [00:03:48] of the world, so we he better damn well [00:03:51] stop, and you know what i suggest, suggest they get [00:03:55] new leader who can make deal, because he could have made [00:03:59] many. and for some reason he never does, and let me go a step [00:04:02] further, if I were president, you wouldn't have ever had that [00:04:06] of war, of that of war would have never started, there was no [00:04:09] a reason that that war with Ukraine and Russia started, it [00:04:13] started due to incompetence to never started, you wouldn't [00:04:17] have lost 30% of your country already, you've lost [00:04:21] 30% of your country and you've had over [00:04:24] million people killed, between the two [00:04:27] of them, over two million people killed, that should have never [00:04:31] of started, and I think it's time for Ukraine [00:04:33] me to get new president. President and Prime [00:04:37] Minister [00:04:37] Shaz Sharif held the meeting [00:04:38] of a [00:04:41] of Sadar in Islama about to discuss the country's overall political and security situation. The meeting was attended by deputy prime [00:04:45] minister and information minister [00:04:48] mother interior ministeri, [00:04:50] law minister, advisor on political affairs Rana sana, attorney [00:04:54] general Mansor Usman Avan and Federal Minister Essen Chima [00:04:58] among other officials. Senator Sher Rahman Sayad Navid [00:05:02] Khamar senator Salim Mandviwala and Dr. [00:05:05] Asim assisted the president during the meeting. The participants agreed to conven [00:05:09] separate sessions on the national assembly and senate on Tuesday. October the [00:05:12] 13th [00:06:02] in the first segment we are going to try to understand the European Union [00:06:05] policy towards Israel amid the atrocities and the [00:06:09] brutalities which has been perpetrated by Israel's raging. and its [00:06:13] illegal occupation forces in Gaza in [00:06:16] particular, in the second segment we are going to understand [00:06:20] regarding the situation generally over there [00:06:24] in the middle east when it comes to the US Iran conflict, there is a hint by [00:06:27] US president Donald Trump of halting the direct strikes against [00:06:31] Iran until after the midterm elections [00:06:34] in November, also when we talk about [00:06:38] the increase and attacks by Huti against Saudi Arabia. [00:06:43] and also the commitment the regional defense packed [00:06:47] countries including Turkey and Pakistan for the sovereignty territorial [00:06:50] integrity and the overall security the kingdom of Saudi [00:06:54] Arabia, we are going to take the understanding regarding as to what [00:06:58] is unfolding at the moment in the middle east [00:07:01] generally on those particular fronts in the second segment of [00:07:05] today's show. [00:07:09] we specifically talk about the European Union. know for [00:07:12] fact that it claims to be the champion of human rights, the international [00:07:16] law and the democratic values, but when [00:07:20] we specifically talk about the European Union's collective [00:07:24] policy towards Israel, especially after the kind [00:07:28] of situation that is unfolded since 8th of October [00:07:32] 2023, the relentless bombardment as result of [00:07:36] which more than 7500 innocent Palestinians have [00:07:39] lost their lives in Gaza. at the same [00:07:43] time there is case the rapidly expanding [00:07:47] illegal settlements in the west bank also [00:07:51] there there are certain questions that are [00:07:55] being raised when it comes to the collective policy the European Union [00:07:59] towards as well with these [00:08:02] policies also we know for there is a survey report that talks [00:08:06] about how many percentage of people when it comes [00:08:09] to the two major European countries including [00:08:12] Germany and Italy, there is a considerable percentage the [00:08:16] people that are talking against [00:08:19] Israel, they've got the negative opinion about Israeli [00:08:23] policies in the occupied Palestinian [00:08:27] territories, at the same time we've also [00:08:30] seen that more than [00:08:34] former officials from the European Union, including the [00:08:37] diplomats, they have accused Germany and [00:08:41] Italy of block. the meaningful action [00:08:44] against Israel on the other side we see there are certain moves [00:08:48] that are made by Britain, France as well as Canada when it comes [00:08:52] to putting the restrictions regarding the trade related to [00:08:56] illegal settlements in as well, so do we [00:09:00] understand that there is lack of [00:09:03] unanimity and unity among the European Union countries when it [00:09:07] comes to its policy towards Israel and [00:09:11] israel high-handedness, [00:09:13] its bombardment against the [00:09:17] innocent people in Gaza, the kind of damage and destruction there [00:09:20] has been accuwed as result of that. Also we know for fact there is [00:09:24] a diet humanitarian crisis that is unfolding [00:09:28] in Gaza's enclave, also will try to [00:09:32] understand or is this the evidence of [00:09:35] diminishing European Union [00:09:38] influence all across because of its double standards. [00:09:42] or these the double standards will try to understand it [00:10:13] you give us an understanding, do we understand that [00:10:17] Europe generally remains divided at this point in [00:10:20] time as we speak, there are more than 500 officials from the... [00:10:25] European Union former officials, including the diplomats that [00:10:29] have accused Germany and Italy of blocking the meaningful action [00:10:33] when it comes to Israeli policies in Gaza. On the other [00:10:36] hand, we we've seen some moves happening on the part of [00:10:39] Britain, France as well as Canada when it comes to [00:10:43] the trade related to illegal settlements, do we understand the Europe remains [00:10:47] divided at this moment and what are the core [00:10:51] reasons for that division among the European Union members? [00:10:56] Well, I think so far, the only government of [00:11:00] Europe which has taken a courageous stand given [00:11:04] the environment, supporting the Palestinians, [00:11:08] is the Spanish government of Sanchez, [00:11:12] so I have said that they have uphold the honor of Europe, because [00:11:16] otherwise it is only opposition groups in the different countries who [00:11:20] have come out for the rights the Palestinians, [00:11:24] I think the reason... and [00:11:28] complicated, I think one big factor for sure to [00:11:31] explain the the discrepancy [00:11:35] between what the people the countries want and what the [00:11:38] governments are actually doing, if you have to look at the [00:11:42] United States, because the United States obviously, [00:11:46] especially with the present Trump administration is [00:11:49] closely allied with [00:11:52] Israel, and therefore the influence the... [00:11:55] atlanticists in the European governments is one [00:11:58] big cause, it is just politically [00:12:01] opportune, to to be on the side of [00:12:04] Israel, the defense of Israel, no matter what [00:12:07] they do, [00:12:09] is being regarded as the defense the [00:12:13] rules based order, even nobody believes that that rules based order ever [00:12:17] existed, but for sure not now anymore, so I think [00:12:21] it is in large part the effort, but [00:12:25] some these governments to uphold some order which [00:12:29] no longer exists and you know they they care not at all [00:12:33] about what happens [00:12:34] to the palestinians, it's more about like if you look at the [00:12:38] reaction to the peace Nobel Prize being given to the [00:12:42] South African jurist Mrs. Peil, the [00:12:45] European Union applauded it, but for [00:12:49] sure they only applaud to her record of defender of [00:12:53] human rights, but they... do not necessarily include in that the [00:12:57] ruling the ICC, which named [00:13:00] Netanyahu and and some other Israeli officials as [00:13:04] war criminals and and and alike, so I think it's [00:13:08] a, I think it's a very double [00:13:11] faced reaction coming from the [00:13:26] issue, sara, coming to you, when when we specifically talk [00:13:29] about the pattern the European countries in [00:13:33] particular regard to the upholding human rights, [00:13:37] international law and the democratic norms, there are [00:13:41] presidents, historic presidents when we talk about [00:13:44] how Europe generally reacts to [00:13:48] an approach and strategy of this sort, if that happens, [00:13:52] why in your understanding? Israel gets a [00:13:56] different sort of a treatment despite its atrocities, it has [00:14:00] been perpetating in Gaza, the expansion of [00:14:03] illegal settlements over there in the occupied West Bank. Also, we also [00:14:07] know for fact there is an advisory opinion on the part [00:14:11] the International Court of Justice for moment, keeping ICC [00:14:27] back to the European stance on the Israeli practices, actually the [00:14:31] Israeli practicing practices in on on Gaza [00:14:35] and now in the west bank, let's not forget the [00:14:38] israely practices in the west bank now is actually [00:14:42] juperadizing everything that the EU [00:14:45] as as a block has ever and [00:14:49] always stood for, because the EU has always been seen as the [00:14:53] human rights help. in in in the center the [00:14:56] world, well let tell you that there is [00:15:00] also another part, another [00:15:04] legal part that prohibits [00:15:08] or maybe holds the EU from action [00:15:11] against Israel, even though we know that the members [00:15:15] have different stances, this has lot of reasons [00:15:18] because different EU members, European [00:15:22] countries within the EU block have... different [00:15:25] strategic interests and trade interests with [00:15:29] Israel and as your honorable guest mentioned as [00:15:33] well new in in in your report that yes [00:15:37] we have EU members who have managed to take [00:15:40] stances against Israel with their diplomatic weight, [00:15:44] diplomatic power, economic power, because the EU doesn't [00:15:47] lack any these, what it really lacks is the [00:15:51] unanimity, like you mentioned, but the [00:15:54] popular or the public pressure [00:15:58] a lot of EU members has has been [00:16:02] translated into parliamentary scrutiny and this is [00:16:05] why we have seen lot of movement, [00:16:09] yes the EU has taken movement, but it lacks, it [00:16:13] lacks the the the way of imposing the [00:16:17] measures, for instance, article two the [00:16:20] association agreement between the EU as a block and Israel has [00:16:24] been provoked in early 2025, [00:16:28] and yes, the EU as a block has [00:16:31] agreed that Israel's praxis or Israel's [00:16:35] settlement. expansion is is [00:16:39] put into question according to the human rights articles that they [00:16:43] have agreed upon into the association, so yes the EU wants [00:16:47] to do something, even though we do have the politics of [00:16:50] historical responsibility within the case of [00:16:53] Germany and within the EU institutions Germany [00:16:57] alone is is is is is capable of [00:17:01] blocking any measures that [00:17:05] might be translated into more consequence [00:17:08] to somehow contain Israel's [00:17:12] breaches, huge violations of human rights, which is [00:17:16] japadizing EU stances on human [00:17:19] rights, actually Israel is putting [00:17:22] every western country that has ever taken their [00:17:26] back now into a very [00:17:30] crucial situation, like no one can ever [00:17:34] talk about human rights now with all the Israeli pr. except of [00:17:38] course for the US government, so how [00:17:42] come we are facing this humanitarian [00:17:45] crisis in Gaza and the west bank, [00:17:48] and we don't see action from the EU, part [00:17:52] is legal, and the other part is, of [00:17:55] course, the EU is also in [00:17:59] conflict with the US and its power and its [00:18:03] alliance with Israel, and there is stands [00:18:06] on the... strategies with the EU, so the [00:18:10] EU now is actually a a position [00:18:13] where it cannot do [00:18:17] more than that against Israel for the lack of [00:18:29] upon very important points, I'll come back to you, please stay with us, Miss Larush, [00:18:32] when we try to compare the moves on the part [00:18:36] the two for... for example when you talk about in the case of [00:18:39] Britain, France and Canada, move regarding putting [00:18:43] restrictions on the trade which is related to [00:18:47] illegal settlements, especially when we talk about the [00:18:51] occupied West Bank, now do we understand, they [00:18:54] do have a concern when it comes to the West Bank [00:18:58] alone, and what about their understanding and [00:19:02] approach towards what has been done by [00:19:06] Israel in Gaza? particular over the last more than three [00:19:09] years, firstly that I want your comparison [00:19:13] differentiate between their understanding and their concern when it comes to the what is [00:19:17] going on in the west bank as compared to in Gaza. Also keeping [00:19:21] in view this move, do you think both [00:19:24] Germany and Italy which have been accused by more than [00:19:28] 500 former officials including the diplomats could [00:19:32] be also coming up with any move of that [00:19:36] sort and if not, what is exactly the stumbling [00:19:40] block when it comes to the German internal politics and [00:19:43] Italian internal politics? does [00:19:47] this has it to deal anything [00:19:50] with the internal politics or the larger national strategic [00:19:54] interest towards as [00:19:56] well? well concerning [00:19:59] the first of your questions, i think there [00:20:02] is lot of shared [00:20:06] because you now the the behavior of [00:20:10] Israel in the west bank uh was is [00:20:14] about to repeat what they did in Gaza, so [00:20:17] maybe the the three countries you mentioned want to keep up [00:20:21] an appearance, that they uphold [00:20:25] a shadow of international human [00:20:29] rights and and international law, I don't think it's very [00:20:32] convincing, because the practically the entire [00:20:36] international... community has done very [00:20:40] little, some even nothing at all, to [00:20:43] stop something which correctly was called by the ICC [00:20:47] a genocide, and the... "the specific [00:20:51] German situation naturally, you now, I mean, obviously [00:20:55] Germany has the guilt of having [00:20:58] committed the original genocide, [00:21:01] but [00:21:02] that does not mean that you would give a green light to everything [00:21:06] the Israeli government does when they are trying sort of [00:21:10] echo what the Germans did to the Jews, so I [00:21:14] think it's a the whole thing is is [00:21:16] completely, [00:21:18] you know, I think it discredits." the European countries, [00:21:22] including Canada [00:21:23] for that matter, I think in the eyes the whole [00:21:26] world, the behavior of Europe is a complete [00:21:30] shame, and I know from many discussions with [00:21:34] representatives of countries the global south, that the [00:21:38] reputation of Europe has suffered tremendously [00:21:42] as result of all of [00:21:48] curious to understand what takes. Generally the [00:21:51] precedence, the popular public opinion as [00:21:55] in this case we know for fact there is a service that reports [00:21:58] unfavor favorable opinion of 75% in [00:22:02] Italy and 73% in [00:22:05] Germany, which the two takes precedence [00:22:09] when it comes to chalking out such a [00:22:12] policy, when it comes to specifically Germany and [00:22:16] Italy, when there is such a considerable percentage that gives the next [00:22:20] opinion a certain issue as compared to the strategic interest [00:22:24] of that country with another one, well what you see in that [00:22:28] particular incident, which you can also see concerning [00:22:32] different topics, these European governments, not so [00:22:36] much Miloni, but the German government [00:22:38] and the French and the British government, the [00:22:41] supports are down to 10 to [00:22:45] 20% the support the voters, so the [00:22:49] overwhelming majority of people do not approve what these [00:22:52] governments do, however that does not at all have [00:22:56] influence on the behavior the governments, it's sort of that they could not [00:23:00] care less, and that shows you that is [00:23:04] why, for example, right now you have in the streets of [00:23:08] seven European countries, hundreds of thousands of [00:23:11] people, especially young people, but also [00:23:15] farmers, truckers and and and trade unionists, but [00:23:19] especially young people. have taken back to the streets [00:23:22] and the issues are on the one side naturally the economic [00:23:26] condition, the condition of education, but mixed in all of [00:23:30] that is total disapprovement, disapproval over [00:23:34] the treatment the palestinians and i think this is [00:23:37] like [00:23:41] absessound in the [00:23:44] European political situation [00:23:47] which something which can break out. any moment a [00:23:51] much more uh violent way with what we can see in [00:23:55] France right now uh you know so people are talking about the [00:23:59] repetition of 68 you now, but [00:24:03] the content is this time much more moral, [00:24:05] it is not about sexual freedom or something else [00:24:09] which the 68 movement was known for, [00:24:13] but it is on more fundamental issues that people have a [00:24:17] sense that the governments are not respecting. 'the will [00:24:20] the people, and the issue on Palestine is [00:24:24] is one very crucial element of that, but you have seen it [00:24:28] in the last two years that the governments both in the United States and in [00:24:32] Europe have taken extremely repressive [00:24:36] measures against the students which were demonstrating, [00:24:39] accusing them of antisemitism, which [00:24:43] you know, I'm not excluding that here and there there may have been a case where [00:24:47] somebody was anti-semitic, but in general'. "It is not [00:24:50] anti-semitism if you oppose the policy the government of [00:24:54] Israel and you defend the life the Palestinians for being [00:24:58] slaughtered, so this argument of [00:25:01] antisemitism, in my view, in my [00:25:05] experience, is being instrumentalized, to to [00:25:09] basically you keep control, because if you accuse Germans [00:25:12] of being anti-semitic natural, you have the entire [00:25:16] historical guilt, and [00:25:18] you can immediately." any kind of discretion, but [00:25:22] in reality [00:25:23] it is instrument to suppress the the [00:25:27] justified protest the people, especially young people and [00:25:30] students against what Israel does against the [00:25:41] when we talk about these more than 500 former [00:25:44] European officials including the diplomats, I want your [00:25:48] understanding, do we Take it as a scathing [00:25:52] censure when it comes to the general policies of Germany and Italy [00:25:55] towards Israel after [00:25:57] what is it has done in the occupied Palestinian territories over the last many years [00:26:01] is concerned. also with the mounting public pressure, with the percentages that I have [00:26:05] already mentioned both in Germany and Italy, do you [00:26:09] think it's going to mountain ample pressure when it comes [00:26:12] to formulating or chalking out new perhaps a new [00:26:16] strategy towards Israel is concerned of both these countries [00:26:19] or in the if that doesn't happen to be the [00:26:23] case that's going to affect [00:26:27] the ruling parties within both these countries in the [00:26:30] electoral politics in the... [00:26:34] well actually pressure has been a [00:26:37] critical factor in [00:26:41] in in in the recent events in relation to [00:26:45] gaza and Israel's praxis especially in [00:26:48] Europe. okay, first Europe has always been [00:26:52] geographically close to our region, that's one thing. [00:26:55] second, europe itself has faced a lot [00:26:59] of wars, humanitarian. [00:27:02] crisis, lot of European [00:27:06] problems have been actually sorted [00:27:10] out by self-determination, so there are [00:27:14] we have now 15 EU member states that [00:27:17] recognizes Palestine, well more [00:27:20] pressure, more EU, I would say more EU pressure [00:27:24] on Germany and [00:27:26] Italy in the time being [00:27:30] um would be tested. This is one thing, we will see [00:27:34] if politics and human rights and every [00:27:38] stands the EU as a block would now [00:27:41] succeed to represent itself on [00:27:44] itself, it representing here the the [00:27:48] German government and the Italian one, [00:27:51] okay, so I think more EU, EU [00:27:54] pressure, okay, for the future of [00:27:58] EU principles and values and one huge. [00:28:02] principle and value the EU is human rights, so [00:28:06] the EU as a unified block cannot [00:28:10] agree on the imposing the [00:28:13] right measures to hold Israel from its [00:28:17] practices, okay, that's like of unanimity, the EU is not [00:28:21] a unitary state, okay, we understand [00:28:24] that, we do really appreciate [00:28:28] the, if we can say it, the unilateral movements [00:28:32] from some European countries like Spain, France, [00:28:35] recognizing Palestine for France is huge step, we have seen it [00:28:39] here in the in the region as a huge step, we have got to Europe on [00:28:43] our side in the Palestinian case, well [00:28:47] maybe more EU pressure and maybe [00:28:51] more reshaping the principles the EU, [00:28:54] especially with the rise of the right the [00:28:58] right movements [00:29:03] Larush would be specific to, you already referred to the policy of Spain, [00:29:07] now Spain and Ireland have pushed for the review the EU as well [00:29:10] association agreements, human rights obligations, [00:29:14] do we understand it's going to considerably put a pressure when it comes to the [00:29:18] preferential trade [00:29:19] arrangements? yes, I [00:29:23] think so, I think that the Spanish [00:29:27] position, as I already said, in my view is the only [00:29:30] one which up. any standard of [00:29:34] international law, and I think a lot will really [00:29:38] depend on on the future [00:29:40] mobilizations, like the 500 [00:29:43] diplomats, and I think we we are [00:29:47] a crisis, I mean [00:29:49] I think what what contains this particular question of [00:29:53] Israel, Palestine, the general [00:29:57] side, [00:29:58] it is taking place in the context that the entire..." [00:30:02] international law is questioned, mean if [00:30:06] the president the united states says he does not need international [00:30:09] law, if you know the [00:30:12] entire body [00:30:15] of of law is not being uphold, you can make sanctions against the [00:30:18] ICC for ruling on something which is absolutely [00:30:22] in their duty and and obligation to rule, we are [00:30:26] looking a lawless situation, and i think that [00:30:30] is why i have been arguing. for the last several [00:30:33] years that we urgently need a new international security [00:30:37] architecture, because international law and [00:30:41] the the order, as it emerged after the end the cold [00:30:45] war, where there was an attempt to establish an [00:30:47] unilateral dominance of certain [00:30:51] countries, that clearly is falling apart, [00:30:55] if you look at the so-called middle east, southwest Asia, the [00:30:58] entire security.
