[00:00:28] of [00:00:37] of [00:00:43] I of [00:00:43] of realized the importance of photography when it comes [00:00:46] to moments in [00:00:47] history. [00:00:52] of I think it's [00:00:55] just um a personal feeling that is [00:00:58] interesting for me. to be part of history that is [00:01:02] in the making right now, in the moment when I'm [00:01:05] there. [00:01:10] I think faces [00:01:12] a and mostly the eyes of a person [00:01:16] can tell more than anything else [00:01:20] you can [00:01:24] of of take photos of. [00:01:30] Iran had warned if war begins, this time it will not remain within Iran's [00:01:35] of borders, but Washington did not take Tiran's warning seriously, but [00:01:38] of followed a was a widening battlefield, Israel and US bases in [00:01:42] Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and [00:01:45] Kuwait came under attack, the war began in the skies, but soon reached the [00:01:49] veins [00:01:49] of the economy, then Tehran issued its next warning, if Iran's [00:01:53] infrastructure is targeted, your infrastructure will be targeted as [00:01:56] well, and the world quickly understood that even silence and neutrality. and this war [00:02:00] could carry heavy [00:02:01] of price, but Iran's next warning is even more [00:02:04] consequential. The war could become extra [00:02:07] regional. No official evidence says that all recent incidents [00:02:11] are connected, but this is where the central question begins. When Iran [00:02:15] speaks of an extra regional war, does it only mean an [00:02:19] expansion of geography, or does it refer to a chain of energy [00:02:22] routes, supports, military bases, markets and the global [00:02:26] economy? The United States once ignored Iran's warning about the regional. [00:02:30] information of war and it is still dealing with the costs. now the [00:02:33] question is, if Washington ignores the warning of an extra regional [00:02:37] war this time as well, will it be able to pay the [00:02:40] price? [00:02:58] of [00:03:10] of [00:03:17] of [00:03:50] of [00:04:05] of [00:04:08] of [00:04:12] of [00:04:18] مامانم میگه اسمش همیشه خلیج فارس [00:04:21] بوده ما بچه های خلیج [00:04:23] فارسیم اینجا برای ما فقط یه دریا [00:04:27] نیست هویتمونه. [00:05:33] the Islama about ceasefire unraveled almost as quickly as it had [00:05:37] been signed, giving its way [00:05:39] to new round of conflict between Tehran and Washington. [00:05:48] the embattled president the US has left no stone unturned and [00:05:52] yet he seems desperately looking for a way out of this part the [00:05:56] world, will he succeed, time will [00:05:59] tell? [00:06:29] hello everyone and welcome to Press TV's news review program, we get in-depth in one [00:06:33] the days top stories. now American media reports say chairman the US joint [00:06:37] chiefs of staff is uh looking or us joint chief pardon is looking for an [00:06:41] off-ramp from the... in Iran. According to reports, general Dan [00:06:45] Kane is a privately made clear to top advisors the US president Donald [00:06:48] Trump that Washington needs to find an exit from the war and uh during [00:06:52] our program we're going [00:06:53] to get deep into it. Let's get on it uh here [00:06:55] we go, we have we're joined by Mr. John Stepling author and commentator joining us out [00:06:59] of Inderoy Norway as well as uh zain Adam zakaria our Prest TV colleague [00:07:03] here joining us in Tehran. I guess we get uh started with you a John out there [00:07:07] in Norway um now we know the the war has been [00:07:11] largely unpopulated. from its very onset, John, and it's continuing to get even [00:07:15] more and more unpopular, and lot of people feel that this second round of [00:07:19] aggression wasn't even far from warranted. Your initial thoughts on [00:07:22] this? Well, it is [00:07:26] extraordinarily unpopular domestically, [00:07:30] uh, but it's also viewed as as [00:07:34] incompetently prosecuted war uh, [00:07:38] and and there the the [00:07:41] administration. uh is searching [00:07:45] for fall guides for for people [00:07:47] to uh get the blame catch the blame Pete [00:07:51] Hegseth is probably first in line for [00:07:54] that uh Trump doesn't like to admit his [00:07:58] own failures ever uh but but yeah [00:08:01] Dan Kain who has the reputation uh of being [00:08:05] a realist and and kind of a you know a hard [00:08:09] ass about these things uh is such. [00:08:12] ly sounding like like he [00:08:15] desperately wants to find a [00:08:18] way uh to to withdraw [00:08:22] with anything that resembles [00:08:24] feasible justification uh [00:08:28] they're going to kind the the US will declare victory no [00:08:32] matter what that's always what they do but they have been [00:08:35] humiliated and and the public knows this in mid-term [00:08:39] elections uh Republicans will will [00:08:43] suffer hugely, that's the general consensus, and [00:08:47] I i think that's right, so top [00:08:51] of this, the economy is terrible, there [00:08:55] are more and more problems with [00:08:58] infrastructure, and there is [00:09:01] huge backlash now against the ice [00:09:05] agents, and their raids and deportations [00:09:09] domestically, and there is backlash against... lock [00:09:12] cameras and surveillance and the building of data centers, all [00:09:16] of this, um, the public is is hugely [00:09:20] against, so we're reaching some kind of [00:09:24] crochendo here uh, right before these mid-term [00:09:28] elections, and and Trump has no idea what to do, I mean he [00:09:32] keeps you know engaging in vanity projects [00:09:35] and putting gold leaf on on, [00:09:39] half century old statues and so forth. he doesn't [00:09:43] know what to do and he has stocked his [00:09:46] administration with people that don't know what to do [00:09:50] uh, this is least competent, least [00:09:53] educated, least statesman-like administration [00:09:57] in US history, this is the the just [00:10:01] wildly um untrained for [00:10:05] for their positions, none them have [00:10:08] a reputation as great thinkers, [00:10:12] have great experience uh and and we're seeing kind [00:10:16] the result of this is that that the US is [00:10:20] alienating more and more countries every week and [00:10:24] and "the the US in general is [00:10:28] not used to this and it's part of part of Trump's [00:10:31] unpopularity is the US, the casual [00:10:34] American voter wants a winner, they want to be seen [00:10:38] as a winner, and then the maga people of course will [00:10:42] insist that US is the greatest country in the world, the greatest thing [00:10:46] since sliced bread and you know they can do no [00:10:50] wrong, but people are angry and and the ice [00:10:54] raid..." "I think are an unprecedented assault [00:10:58] on civil liberties and the bill of rights, I've never seen anything [00:11:02] like it, and the backlash is is growing, we're [00:11:05] seeing enormous resistance to this now and enormous [00:11:09] anger, so top of it, the US has been [00:11:13] humiliated with with this aggression against [00:11:17] Iran, they've thoroughly been beaten, this once [00:11:20] great, supposedly great military [00:11:24] that..." Hollywood has spent 40 years making movies [00:11:28] about uh, this military has been reduced to [00:11:32] lathing stock, they can't, they can't carry [00:11:36] out any kind of um assault on [00:11:40] Iran, certainly no ground invasion, they don't know how to [00:11:43] mount um an offensive that makes [00:11:46] any sense or or would not [00:11:50] lead to even further [00:11:52] you know destruction of bases in the... region further destruction [00:11:56] of um ships and drones and [00:12:00] fighter jets, the US has lost all [00:12:03] them, and so that what are they going to [00:12:07] do, they don't know what to do, so we're looking at people like Dan [00:12:10] kane, very, [00:12:13] you know, realistic guy with lot of experience, [00:12:16] even if he's even if he's a sort of full-blown [00:12:19] fascist, um, and even he is looking for a way [00:12:23] out, a justification. to withdraw and and [00:12:27] get out because the US has has [00:12:30] exhausted its options at this point. thank [00:12:34] you, john, z, welcome to the conversation, thanks [00:12:37] for your patience. z and then donald trump also on the other hand [00:12:40] orders a probe into um see what the leak [00:12:44] came out, that that people, so it's not only bad that the war is highly [00:12:48] unpopular both with lawmers in Trump's cabinet with the American people, but if you talk [00:12:52] about it and if you're close to Donald Trump, you might... get targeted [00:12:56] uh tell us how unpopular this war is back in the states with law makers and [00:13:00] even now is we're hearing increasingly Trump's [00:13:02] intercircle? well the thing Danny is that Trump [00:13:06] has not just [00:13:07] you know alienated lot of people within his [00:13:10] administration he has also make it um very easy for [00:13:14] people within the US administration itself to hate him and I'm [00:13:18] talking about the fact that he has invested heavily in [00:13:21] reducing the federal um you know um [00:13:25] uh grants that goes into various um you know [00:13:29] um us whether it's the US senate whether it's the it's [00:13:33] the pentagon um you know we've seen a [00:13:36] lot of money being pulled out of this very very important um [00:13:40] operation and that's why you see that within the administration itself [00:13:44] within um the US um government itself [00:13:48] there is lot of um anger towards what the US president is [00:13:52] doing not just with the war in Iran just like our guest even [00:13:55] internally with ice and everything, so I think it it's multif [00:13:59] it, so the first part is internally within the United State, [00:14:03] people generally don't have problem with wars, we've seen that the [00:14:06] US population have gone through multiple wars and the [00:14:10] media has been able to sell it to them as a way of exacted pressure and the [00:14:14] power the United States, so people don't have problem with war, the wars [00:14:18] they have problem with is the war that they begin to feel internally [00:14:22] within the United States, so when we saw that the... when the Vietnam war [00:14:26] began to be very, very costly for United States, it [00:14:30] became very unpopular internally, the Iraq war lasted for almost [00:14:34] 20 years uh, and yeah, there were protests here and there, but it it it [00:14:38] was still a very popular war, so the United State and the population [00:14:42] in the US generally don't have problem with wars, the wars they have [00:14:46] problem with, it's wars that are very, very costly for the United State, and we've [00:14:49] seen from the very beginning, whether it's in the 12-day war or the [00:14:53] 40-day war, the... said of of lost especially when it comes [00:14:57] to um the media, the US media very very [00:15:00] powerfully [00:15:01] has been able to convince many people that you know war is beneficial, but when it comes [00:15:05] to Iran, [00:15:06] it was almost very quickly that that narrative changed, [00:15:10] especially because we're coming off the Gaza genocide where people saw [00:15:13] how um the United State assisted Israel in carrying out that [00:15:17] genocide, so we we have a preparation already on the ground [00:15:21] where not just um you know um in the US but also in [00:15:25] global atmosphere, people are against any war, especially war, the [00:15:29] benefit Israel or is supported by the United States and so when he came [00:15:33] to Iran and the Iranians were [00:15:35] you know we saw how ' the [00:15:38] Iranian um um embassies around the world were [00:15:42] when he went on x and the way that they were able to make this [00:15:45] war very very clear that is expensive for the United States so that is the [00:15:49] first aspect when it comes to generation. second aspect is that when the [00:15:53] straight up almost closed immediately the prices of brend and [00:15:57] oil prices and other associated um you know product [00:16:00] went up so americans saw the effect of that war almost [00:16:04] immediately coming out their pocket and this is coming up. the economic crisis [00:16:08] that is already happening in the United States and when it comes to how [00:16:12] Iran has [00:16:13] been able to systematically target the the [00:16:16] foundation the US military bases around the region and [00:16:20] also the impact that is having on American soldiers [00:16:23] so when you put all of this um you know issues together it makes this [00:16:27] war very very expensive and very very visibly [00:16:30] expensive for the American um people and that has make it [00:16:34] um to where we are now where many senates many senate. does [00:16:37] even um you know from the republican um you know asking [00:16:41] Trump what is the point and our view our guest also said something [00:16:45] very interesting which is that Trump is surrounded by [00:16:49] idiots and those who are not idiotic have been fired we [00:16:53] saw how he he [00:16:55] he he purged uh you know in essence the the the um the [00:16:59] military command center in the United State and replace them with yes [00:17:03] man because we know Trump is always looking for people who say yes to [00:17:06] him so... "this war did not come from a place where [00:17:10] everything was pre-planned, it came from reaction to [00:17:14] whatever happened um, [00:17:16] you know, on the battlefield where Trump I this want, [00:17:18] says [00:17:18] what is bring me something that is related that can give me exactly [00:17:22] what I want, and when th those failed and he comes back and say, I want something else [00:17:25] again, when the um, during the war when the Trump administration said [00:17:29] that they were going to start escorting ships through the straight of [00:17:32] Ormus, many generals told him that this was impossible, it's [00:17:36] it's not f'. able and we saw that many them were fired and then [00:17:40] just 24 hours later Trump came and said [00:17:43] that has been canceled and that we consistently see that and continue to [00:17:47] see it um the war and and until now it seems though Trump is [00:17:51] just reacting um you know to whatever situation happened then he [00:17:55] react and bring new plan um into front but I think as the [00:17:58] war progresses we're going to start seeing new emergence [00:18:02] of new coalition in the region recently we saw the Saudi [00:18:06] Turkey and Pakistan. act and that is as a direct reaction to [00:18:10] the war happening um you know in the region, everyone is beginning to understand [00:18:14] the dependence on the Americans is not going to take you anywhere [00:18:17] okay [00:18:18] and that the Iranians have demonstrated that when [00:18:19] you stand on your own and you try and form you know multilateral um [00:18:23] relation it's far better than depending on the Americans because you get nothing um you [00:18:27] know for that thank you uh zab and John uh you you kind of touch [00:18:31] on this I wonder if you could elaborate on the on the unpopular on [00:18:35] the unpopularity the war what do you think it soly goes back to or [00:18:39] primarily goes back to the uh impact it has in the fuel [00:18:43] stations on energy uh cost, the failures to actually [00:18:46] achieve any the objectives on the ground that are tangible, [00:18:50] possibly lack of a pretext that satisfies the [00:18:53] American uh people uh where do you see the the [00:18:57] issue with the American people with those in congress, with those around or within [00:19:01] Donald Trump's cabinet [00:19:03] uh where is that opposition, what fuels it uh and what do [00:19:06] you see the primary fuel that? [00:19:37] context of this discussion, because this [00:19:41] is huge part of [00:19:43] the the geography, not [00:19:46] geography, but the physics of the [00:19:50] global movements of capital and so forth, [00:19:54] always kind of follow the US and Israel, and [00:19:58] and the zionists are scrambling, they are trying to colonize [00:20:02] Argentina and the Philippines, Cyprus, they're always looking [00:20:06] to buy land and somewhere the Greek islands and they're [00:20:10] being rejected, everybody in the world hates them. one the [00:20:14] huge issues in the coming elections in the US [00:20:18] is who is backed by Abac and who is not [00:20:21] backed by Abac, people are, I people that [00:20:25] that used to support Israel no longer support [00:20:28] them, a live stream genocide will [00:20:32] do that, Israel is hugely unpopular, and [00:20:36] so uh... people people want [00:20:39] uh to believe in something again the [00:20:42] way they they once did and they're having a hard time doing [00:20:46] that the U.S. public education [00:20:50] crashed after Reagan, they pulled the plug on public education. This [00:20:54] is hugely underereducated populaus [00:20:58] now, compared to China or Iran or even [00:21:02] Russia, the US is is lagging behind [00:21:06] by every metric you can find, and they're not [00:21:09] producing scientists, they're not producing innovations in [00:21:13] industry or or infrastructure, it's a it's a [00:21:17] it's a huge, [00:21:19] you know... one one factor affects [00:21:23] the next factor and we're seeing cascading [00:21:26] effect of failure in this culture [00:21:29] now, and and you're seeing the oligarchs, the people [00:21:33] that call lot of policy decisions, Peter teal [00:21:36] and and people like that, Sam altman and [00:21:40] Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, all these people are [00:21:43] hated figures now, but they have enormous power [00:21:47] and the their their policies are being... push through things [00:21:51] like data centers uh, so it it [00:21:55] feeds kind of collective paranoia in the [00:21:58] US, my reading of it, the [00:22:02] from distance and talking to people is that there is a [00:22:06] growing paranoia, more and more people are leaving the country [00:22:10] in fact, and part of this equation though [00:22:14] is Israel and and how they are perceived now, [00:22:18] they are not popular. "there are constant, [00:22:21] you know, disturbances and fist fights and [00:22:25] public brawls about Israel, involving [00:22:29] zionis in the United States, even, so this [00:22:32] is unusual, we only have a couple minutes left, I really want to give this last a [00:22:36] question to you, John, what do you think continues to fuel and [00:22:40] drive uh Donald Trump and his ambition, this belief that he has that [00:22:44] this aggression against Iran will yield in the intended [00:22:48] results that he's looking for." um, [00:22:52] i the Trump is not going to get [00:22:56] anything that that he wants, i don't think. we also have to [00:23:00] remember he's in, he's a very old guy, and he's in [00:23:04] decline, he's in physical decline, [00:23:07] uh, it's pretty obvious he's in some kind of cognitive [00:23:11] mental decline, um, how how [00:23:15] extensive is, [00:23:17] you know, is unclear, but it's, but it's... marked [00:23:21] and he is constantly making speeches that make [00:23:25] no sense and and are and embarrassment, [00:23:29] so his staff are trying to manage him more than [00:23:32] ever, it's hard to know what what he wants, what he thinks he [00:23:36] wants anymore, i don't really know, but the the [00:23:40] things that have to be remembered are the effect of Israel, netan [00:23:44] yahoos influence, the epsteen files and [00:23:48] his apparent. inspiration to keep those from coming [00:23:52] to light, he [00:23:53] is essentially selling pardons to criminals, mostly [00:23:57] zionist white color criminals, but if you [00:24:01] if you have the money you can buy a a prison pardon [00:24:05] from Donald Trump, there's naked insider [00:24:08] training and corruption, people are aware of [00:24:12] this, and then you have the ice raids that are [00:24:16] illegal and their human rights activists, [00:24:20] screaming, legal aid lawyers are screaming, ACLU [00:24:24] is screaming, everybody is outraged, there are [00:24:27] families with people living in the US legally who have had [00:24:31] family members deported and they don't even know where they have been [00:24:34] deported, so um it's a it's a [00:24:38] strange kind of time of of uh that will [00:24:42] be looked back on, I think in in [00:24:45] bewilderment by future historians, how did we get to [00:24:49] this? place because uh certainly in our [00:24:52] lifetimes we've never seen anything like this. all [00:24:56] right, good stuff. thank you, Mr. uh, John Stepling, their author and commentator [00:25:00] joining us out of Inderoy, Norway and our inhouse colleague here, [00:25:04] our steam colleague, I should say zane Adam, [00:25:06] thank you both dearly and sincerely and stay safe to both [00:25:09] of you and viewers, and that's a wrap for this uh issue of your press [00:25:12] tv news review program. thanks for joining us and bye-bye for [00:25:15] now. [00:25:30] Very deep within the US house armed services committee's massive [00:25:34] $1.15 trillion dollar fiscal year [00:25:37] 2027 national defense authorization act [00:25:40] draft lies a provision that signals more than routine [00:25:44] military cooperation with Israel, it signals a [00:25:48] structural intanglement. Section 2:24, as [00:25:52] it is identified, has now spark debate. It reflects a [00:25:56] deeper shift in the long standing US and Israel's so-called [00:26:00] security relationship, and it is moving it from [00:26:03] partnership into formalized institutional [00:26:06] coordination at the military level, and hey, it [00:26:10] also comes a moment when the American public burned by an [00:26:14] unprovoked and illegal war against Iran wants less [00:26:17] entanglement in Tel Aviv's wars, not more, [00:26:21] yet section 224 delivers the exact opposite, [00:26:25] report suggests the provision would require the designation of [00:26:29] dedicated pentagon executive agent to court. coordinate [00:26:32] expanded cooperation with the Israeli military [00:26:36] establishment covering research, development, [00:26:39] procurement, and advanced systems integration. the [00:26:43] US and Israel may say this is just a joint innovation in [00:26:47] artificial intelligence, cyber warfare, quantum [00:26:50] computing and next generation war technologies, but [00:26:54] beneath this technical language lies a far more [00:26:57] consequential reality, one in which intelligence sharing, [00:27:01] data systems and military infrastructure become [00:27:04] increasingly interwaven, structurally [00:27:07] insulated from public accountability. Classified [00:27:11] intelligence gathered by US military assets paid for the [00:27:15] American taxpayer dollars could now be directly [00:27:19] funneled into Israeli military systems through data [00:27:22] fusion or the so-called network integration. By the [00:27:26] way, this is already happening, but a lower scale. Can you [00:27:30] imagine what could happen a larger? scale, it would deepen [00:27:34] real-time operational coordination between the two militaries [00:27:38] raising questions about overside accountability and the [00:27:42] traditional bandaries between foreign military [00:27:45] assistance and joint development. the provision [00:27:48] also appears to expand industrial cooperation, [00:27:52] potentially increasing co-production of weapons [00:27:55] systems within the United States itself, further [00:27:59] embedding the relationship into domestic. weapons supply [00:28:03] chains, the asymmetric deterrance doctrine of [00:28:06] Tehran and the entire axis of resistance has [00:28:10] always rested on the reality that the United States and [00:28:13] Israel are in practice a single joint [00:28:17] actor. Section 22:4 now gives legal and [00:28:20] institutional form to an operational reality that already [00:28:24] existed, but the world did not want to [00:28:27] see. [00:30:13] Islamic revolution and guard core says the imposed wars in iran to reveal [00:30:17] strategic deadlock of US and [00:30:18] Israel. [00:30:24] Yemen's arm forces say they have carried out strikes on Saudi bag troops in [00:30:28] Maadi province of [00:30:29] Yemen. [00:30:38] And Spain announces border controls against Italy a tit for tap [00:30:41] move as ra oversit migrant influx [00:30:45] intensifies.
