[00:06:12] meters of accuracy at the target, which [00:06:15] is very good, especially when you're delivering a [00:06:19] warhead, the warhead, I'll show [00:06:23] you, yeah, delivers the equivalent of about a [00:06:26] 4,000 or 500 pound explosive at the [00:06:30] target, that's an enormous explosive [00:06:33] charge, and most the power of that [00:06:37] explosive, of that explosion comes from the kinetic [00:06:41] energy of impact. other words, this thing hits the ground so [00:06:44] fast that it just [00:06:47] vaporizes, it's [00:06:50] much, it's well [00:06:52] beyond, for example, it's traveling a speed well [00:06:56] beyond that the oreshnic munitions, [00:06:59] wow are hitting the ground at maybe three kilometers per [00:07:03] second, this thing is hitting the ground at over four kilometers per [00:07:07] second, now 3 kilometers per [00:07:10] second gives you the... equivalent kinetic [00:07:13] energy of gives you the equivalent [00:07:17] explosive energy the weight the [00:07:20] munition in TNT, in other [00:07:23] words, all of this, this is not explosion, explosion [00:07:27] from explosive materials, it's an [00:07:31] explosion from all of this kinetic energy [00:07:34] being nearly instantaneously converted [00:07:38] to kinetic energy [00:07:39] from, [00:07:44] the [00:07:44] the the piece of material that hits the ground gets compressed so fast by [00:07:48] the interaction with the ground that it superheats to 500 [00:07:52] 6000 degrees kelvin temperature the sun [00:07:55] surface and that expands violently [00:07:58] outward like an explosion, it is an explosion. [00:08:02] now when it hits at four kilometers per [00:08:05] second, that's four kilometers [00:08:08] divid [00:08:09] by 3 kilometers per second, so it's maybe say it's one and... half or [00:08:13] 1.6 - you square that and that [00:08:17] gives you the rough equivalent energy and tnt of [00:08:20] hitting the ground a little bit over 4 kilometers per second, which is [00:08:24] about two and a half when you do the arithmetic carefully, [00:08:28] so the weight the warhead is a [00:08:31] thousand kilogram, so it's say it's 2 [00:08:35] pounds, you get factor so [00:08:38] 2 pounds of just non [00:08:42] explosive material compressed, turned [00:08:46] into kinetic energy into an explosion by kinetic energy [00:08:50] impact, so that brings you up to 5,000 pounds of [00:08:54] explosive power, plus you have a couple of [00:08:58] thousand pounds of explosive material in the warhead, so this [00:09:01] thing has the power of a 500 or 6000 [00:09:05] pound explosive when it hits the ground, and it does [00:09:09] tremendous damage, and I can show you some the evidence. for [00:09:12] this and let's just look at [00:09:16] slide um two, this is the missile itself, [00:09:20] it's the alphata, and if you look to the right the missile [00:09:24] where you can see the warhead itself, you see a [00:09:27] winged vehicle that has [00:09:30] very, very low drag, so it comes into the [00:09:33] atmosphere, it experiences [00:09:36] very minimal aerodynamic drag, and [00:09:40] if we look at ' slide [00:09:43] four, let's just go, there we go, you can see [00:09:47] that in the back of this warhead it has rocket motor, see the [00:09:51] rocket motor is in the forefront, and that rocket [00:09:54] motor is able to generate a [00:09:58] couple of thous pounds of thrust over time [00:10:02] intervals of 30 seconds, 40 seconds, [00:10:06] no problem at all, so so that's during [00:10:10] the entire time of reentry. Now if we go to [00:10:13] slide six, we can actually [00:10:17] see this is one these warheads arriving in [00:10:19] Israel, that long bright [00:10:23] plum [00:10:24] the front. [00:10:55] high temperatures in the generated by the kinetic energy [00:10:59] and the explosion, that's like four [00:11:02] or 500 pounds of explosion, explosive energy being [00:11:05] instantaneously released, and if you look in [00:11:08] the next slide we can even see powerful shock [00:11:11] wave, [00:11:14] seense [00:11:17] shock wave, this is really intense explosion to have a [00:11:20] visible shock wave generated by the [00:11:24] explosion. so if you just wanted to get a sense of [00:11:28] how much damage uh one these [00:11:31] explosions can do, why don't we just go to slide [00:11:35] 13? [00:11:41] there you go, now in in the lower right of [00:11:45] 13, i have put in blast contours, this [00:11:49] is Washington DC, the [00:11:52] building in the middle is... is the [00:11:56] library of congress, that's a big massive concrete and steel [00:11:59] building, and to the right is a [00:12:03] neighborhood that's immediately adjacent, just regular [00:12:06] buildings. now the inner circle, [00:12:10] innermost the four circles [00:12:14] shows you the 40 pound per square [00:12:16] inch blast [00:12:19] range, the limit of it, all those [00:12:23] buildings in that circle will just..." [00:12:55] inch one at the outer circle would would would knock [00:12:58] in the interior walls, might not [00:13:02] knock down the buildings at the two pound per square inch point, but [00:13:06] the interior walls of all inside the [00:13:09] buildings will be knocked out by the blast wave that's propagating [00:13:13] through the building, so this one warhead would [00:13:17] essentially eliminate this block of [00:13:21] buildings, remember the term blockbuster, from [00:13:25] World War II, this is a blockbuster, now [00:13:29] if we go to the next slide just to make [00:13:32] clear what the effects of multiple warheads would [00:13:35] be, all this shows [00:13:38] is, I've just amplified the first slide by [00:13:42] putting three detonation areas [00:13:46] down, and the one to the [00:13:50] left, which I assume goes through the roof [00:13:53] the... uh library of congress [00:13:57] will essentially destroy the whole library of congress, [00:14:01] because if it penetrates into the building, the shock wave will tend [00:14:05] to be contained, and the blast wave will be so [00:14:08] intense around that 40 pound per square inch point that all [00:14:12] the internal structure will be destroyed at that point, other areas [00:14:16] the structure farther away will be severely damaged, [00:14:20] so it'll look, it it'll look like the [00:14:23] building ' the uh the mirror building in [00:14:27] Oklahoma City, if if the warhead went through the [00:14:31] roof, it would look like uh, the damage that was [00:14:35] done to the building in in in in in Oklahoma City by [00:14:39] the 10,00 pound bomb or 15 thousand pound [00:14:43] bomb that was detonated in the terrorist attack in [00:14:46] Oklahoma City, this building would be gone for all [00:14:50] purposes, the uh uh the [00:14:54] third uh detonation point which is shown on on the [00:14:57] upper right, would destroy that other block, so you'd have [00:15:01] two blocks of regularly [00:15:05] constructed housing destroyed, plus the entire [00:15:08] library of congress by this, these [00:15:12] three postulated warheads hitting at those aim points, [00:15:16] now think of Tel Aviv being subjected to [00:15:20] this, can you imagine the damage in Tel Aviv, because this has been going [00:15:24] a... while not every warhead [00:15:27] hitting is one these, there you [00:15:31] go, you're really quick, but [00:15:35] this is the kind [00:15:35] of damage that would be into the [00:15:38] in the interior the library of congress [00:15:42] from this warhead that i postulated hitting the library of [00:15:46] congress, so these are very [00:15:50] severe levels of damage, and this is what's been [00:15:53] going [00:15:54] on in Tel Aviv, and the Israelis have [00:15:57] been censoring [00:16:00] the information from these [00:16:04] attacks, but I can see why... [00:16:07] Netanyahu was telling Trump at one point that he's more [00:16:11] worried about the missiles than he is about [00:16:15] nuclear weapon about the Iranian nuclear weapons, which [00:16:19] which he's on record saying at various points, so so this [00:16:22] is the kind of damage you would see, the [00:16:26] shock wave would propagate into the building further, [00:16:30] of course where the damage is done it would have would have [00:16:34] destroyed and collapsed all the floors. "and this [00:16:38] building, there's nothing [00:16:40] you can do with this building except tear it down, it's [00:16:43] done, so this is the kind of [00:16:46] damage we can expect as the war [00:16:50] goes on in Tel Aviv and Haifa, if the [00:16:54] Iranians start attacking with Tel Aviv and Ha [00:16:58] with Alfat missiles, they will do severe levels [00:17:01] of damage, but a lower level per missile if they don't use [00:17:05] these rocket. accelerated warheads, [00:17:09] but we're talking about serious damage, [00:17:12] and this can go on for very long time, [00:17:15] because do you have any sense for how many these missiles that we [00:17:19] think Iran has? uh, we we really don't [00:17:23] know, but hundreds them, almost [00:17:26] surely, thousands them, quite [00:17:29] possibly, so hundreds these things would do [00:17:33] tremendous damage, but if the thousands them, which we can't rule [00:17:36] out, "uh, you know, we're talking about [00:17:39] real levels of damage that's uh, you know, [00:17:43] to Tel Aviv and Ha, you, you could, you could [00:17:47] end [00:17:48] the economic viability of [00:17:51] Israel, you know, by destroying, there are only [00:17:55] few big cities where almost all the economic activity in [00:17:59] Israel is is going on, so is [00:18:03] there anything in the cumulative integrated air defense [00:18:06] system of? [00:18:08] for for Israel, you're talking about the iron dome, david sling, all the [00:18:12] different kinds of facilities i have, thads, factories [00:18:15] etc. is [00:18:17] there anything that can defeat those missiles? no, no, i [00:18:20] think the maneuvering these people, for [00:18:24] example, if it had a high capability to hit [00:18:28] targets and doubt that, but let's assume [00:18:32] it does, it [00:18:33] requires 30 or 40'. [00:19:08] take many many tens of seconds to reach the locations where [00:19:12] they're going to attempt to hit the incoming missile and you [00:19:16] can't predict where that be if [00:19:17] location the missile is [00:19:20] to is going able to maneuver, you can predict where it's going to be if it's a ballistic [00:19:24] trajectory and you know how to predict the [00:19:28] location because the trajectory is determined by [00:19:31] gravitation and momentum, but you [00:19:35] don't have that in the case of [00:19:37] a power. [00:20:07] here, there was some claims when when the president Trump is claiming [00:20:11] that we knock down all eight of those missiles, there was additional [00:20:15] reporting prior to him making that, what's that? [00:20:18] sorry, go ahead uh, there was some claims before [00:20:21] that that there were some on the United States that said, hey, we [00:20:25] only had minutes of warning before these things get, we barely even had time to [00:20:29] to go into uh, to go into shelters, etc., that is [00:20:33] lot less than what we had been in the past, and I wonder if you can just kind of... talk a little [00:20:37] bit about uh the presumed damage that has been done because [00:20:41] the radars that Iran has been hitting over the last couple of months [00:20:45] especially uh and and what whether we're hit anything [00:20:49] or not. "it's reducing our warning time before missils [00:20:53] even hit, well the thad radar does have a [00:20:57] long-range capability, and [00:21:00] our satellites in space can see the launch and we [00:21:04] can see the first 60 or 70 seconds of [00:21:08] powered flight, we can see the rocket plum, the exhaust plome [00:21:12] once the rocket exhaust plom stops, the [00:21:15] satellites cannot track, so the but they can do they can get [00:21:19] a..." "also it may be the best place to put it because [00:22:23] it's far enough away that there's some chance they can [00:22:27] keep its location difficult to find, although I think [00:22:30] that's doubtful, but I think that that radar will be [00:22:34] destroyed sooner or later because they will locate it, and once [00:22:38] they locate it they can go after it as they did in the first day the [00:22:42] war. so what is absence [00:22:42] what the the thad radars is supposed to any and are there any [00:22:46] other uh similar categories of radars that?" can bring [00:22:50] in that's going to give us enough knowledge about incoming missiles throughout the [00:22:54] region, well the arrow radars uh [00:22:58] have some capability, they can probably see objects a couple [00:23:02] of hundred kilometers range, which would be [00:23:06] 30, you couple of minutes [00:23:08] warning, that's helpful, any warning is [00:23:12] helpful, right now without the [00:23:14] radars, what the Israelis [00:23:18] know is that there's going... to be attack few minutes before [00:23:21] it happens, because [00:23:24] they they the [00:23:27] satellites in space can tell them there's been a [00:23:31] launch against Israel, it can't tell them [00:23:34] where the impacts are going to be, so if you're in tel [00:23:38] aviv [00:23:39] you don't know it's tel aviv [00:23:41] and if you're in h you don't know it's hyfa, but you know [00:23:45] a couple of minutes something could happen, so [00:23:48] that's what the... israelis are probably complaining about [00:23:52] now when they had the radars they could [00:23:55] know that yes h is about to be [00:23:59] hit and you might have two or three [00:24:03] minutes of of warning from the [00:24:06] radar buse you could see it far enough away to know to take [00:24:10] shelter so so you know it's it's in your [00:24:14] city h let's say and you know you have two or three minutes to get [00:24:18] to a shelter which is... not a lot of time, but is [00:24:21] adequate, so um, so that's [00:24:25] a much better situation than [00:24:28] knowing there was a launch [00:24:31] and sometime in the next 10 minutes or so [00:24:34] uh, [00:24:36] you know, um, there's [00:24:40] a warhead that might explode in your city, [00:24:44] near you, or maybe in Haifa, or maybe beer Shiva, you [00:24:47] don't, so everyone has to take shelter. all across the country, [00:24:51] so that's much more disruptive than when you [00:24:55] know it's coming two or three minutes from now in your [00:24:59] area, so that's the situation you have without the [00:25:02] radars. apparently the commander of central [00:25:06] command, admiral Cooper, is suggesting that President [00:25:10] Trump try and change the war one more time, but this [00:25:13] time with another two-week campaign, but just heavier bombs, [00:25:17] one the things that really stood out to me and I really... like your view on this [00:25:21] is the [00:25:22] uh Cooper argued in favor of stepping up tacks to completely diminish [00:25:26] Iran's missile capabilities uh according to [00:25:29] NBC, the uh go big approach he said would [00:25:33] diminish would minimize the US's need for the use of defensive [00:25:36] munition since there would be less incoming fire uh from [00:25:40] Iran but I still keep going back to [00:25:43] uh this um because look [00:25:46] i heavier bombing do do we have any? thing that's going [00:25:50] to get through this stuff that's going to knock [00:25:52] that out that we didn't in the first 40 days or the second 13, well i [00:25:56] don't know what he's talking about, mean uh, and i [00:26:00] think he doesn't know what he's talking about too. [00:26:03] because what kinds of bombs is he talking about? mean it's [00:26:07] ridiculous, the bombs that uh that we [00:26:11] have cannot penetrate close to the depths that you need [00:26:15] in order to get at these under under mountain [00:26:19] targets, the um uh we do have [00:26:22] penetrating bombs that may be able to get at [00:26:26] tunnels because the're tunnels that are just built in the desert [00:26:30] open desert areas. uh, but uh, [00:26:33] you don't know where the tunnels are. if you know where a tunnel entrance is, you don't [00:26:37] know where the tunnel goes behind, so I [00:26:40] mean, so I know where the tunnel entrance is, here it [00:26:44] is, and the tunnel, the tunnel [00:26:48] goes somewhere, and the tunnel goes and it takes a turn, and it takes another [00:26:52] turn, and it takes another turn, and the their other tunnels [00:26:56] off it, I have no way of knowing where those tunnels [00:26:59] are, so [00:27:01] the the only way, 'if I happen to have a warhead that might reach [00:27:05] deep enough to go through the top of a [00:27:08] tunnel, I need to know where those tunnels are, and [00:27:12] I have no way [00:27:12] of knowing that, so I don't know what Cooper's talking about, who is this [00:27:16] guy?
