[00:02:02] of of [00:02:11] Hello and welcome everybody, uh, it's half past noon here in the Iranian capital Iraning watching [00:02:15] press tv's world news. Our top story run says a plan meeting in [00:02:19] Oman involving the foreign ministers of Persian golf countries to discuss the [00:02:22] straight of hormos was cancelled [00:02:25] request. خبری که مطرح شده بله درست [00:02:29] هست. report that has been raised is indeed correct, Saudi Arabia [00:02:33] requested that [00:02:34] of the meeting not be held for the time being, as for the discussions about [00:02:37] developments between Saudi Arabia and Yemen being attributed to Iran, [00:02:41] that is simply case of pointing the finger in the wrong direction, problems cannot [00:02:45] be resolved by misdirecting the [00:02:49] of blame. of categorically rejected claims that Iran played a [00:02:53] role an attack on Saudi Arabia and said Washington is spreading [00:02:56] false reports to deepen divisions among regional states. He said [00:03:00] Iran had demonstrated its willingness to help address Yemen's longstanding problems [00:03:04] while respecting the road map agreed between the parties [00:03:07] concerned, he [00:03:09] of warned that continued conflict among Muslim countries would benefit [00:03:12] only the Israeli regime. Bai said Ansarla is [00:03:16] um independent and makes its own [00:03:18] decisions based its interests he said [00:03:21] Yemen's actions must be understood in the context of years of [00:03:25] blockade and attacks including strikes by the [00:03:28] of United States and his. [00:03:35] Investigative journalist says Bahrains refusal [00:03:37] to take [00:03:38] part in the meeting and Saudi Arabia's request to postpone it [00:03:42] suggests that both countries are not yet ready to follow through a policy [00:03:47] of change. [00:03:48] of I think they're a point where [00:03:51] they are not yet ready to realize or [00:03:55] to follow through a change of policy. They're kind of stuck [00:03:59] in a hard play. because of course the US naval [00:04:02] central command [00:04:04] is is in Bahrain [00:04:05] and yet to quote the uh the naval [00:04:09] secretary [00:04:09] of the US command [00:04:11] in there, he said quote, they the Iranians blew the hill out of [00:04:15] Bahrain, so that's what happened, that's what the [00:04:19] consequence was of Bahrain's [00:04:21] collaboration and the use [00:04:23] of their territory in the US [00:04:27] unprovoked attack on Iran, and I think... "they're [00:04:31] a point where they're not yet ready to recognize [00:04:35] reality and recognize the their long-term [00:04:38] interests, which are to move away from [00:04:41] of support for the US towards support for Iran, which after all [00:04:46] of is is one [00:04:46] of their neighboring countries, um, so I think we're a [00:04:50] critical time, and it's better that the [00:04:53] of meeting be postponed and to establish [00:04:57] greater, greater." coherence and [00:05:01] agreement on on the path [00:05:03] of forward, we've seen in the past where negotiations have been used [00:05:07] by both you, US and Israel for uh [00:05:11] for attacks. Uh, Russia has called the [00:05:14] United States agreement um, [00:05:17] incapable. [00:05:21] Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards course says it intercepted an advanced [00:05:25] MQ1 military drone over the straight of hormos, a short [00:05:29] statement, the IRGC said the drone was shot down by its aerospace forces [00:05:33] using their advanced modern air defense system. The system [00:05:36] is part of Iran's integrated air defense network. MQ1 [00:05:40] Predators are the US military's. primary remote controlled aircraft [00:05:44] for offensive operations during the recent US-Israeli aggression [00:05:48] against iran armed forces have shot down dozens of drones and [00:05:51] other aircraft operated by the US over the straight of hormos [00:05:55] and across the [00:05:57] country. [00:06:04] the international atomic energy agency, the IAEA has opened its [00:06:08] annual general conference that runs from the 14th to [00:06:12] the 18th of September in Vienna. Iran's nuclear program is [00:06:16] high on the agenda just days after the agencies board refer [00:06:19] Tehran's file to the UN Security Council. Our correspondent Diatarius [00:06:23] joined us earlier with more [00:06:25] details. As [00:06:30] the you see, I'm standing here in front exhibition stall the atomic [00:06:33] energy organization of [00:06:36] Iran. You see there, there's no stuff behind me [00:06:40] yet, the official. start the [00:06:44] general conference is start at 10 with [00:06:48] address by president the the conference and then [00:06:51] a speech by DG Rafael [00:06:55] Prosti, but I think the main story this morning is [00:06:59] that the head the Iranian delegation [00:07:03] uh eoi chief Mohammed Oslami [00:07:05] was from attending this [00:07:09] conference the Austrian authorities review. used [00:07:12] him entrance into the country, so he cannot [00:07:16] attend this conference, from what I'm hearing is [00:07:20] that it was due to pressure from the United States, [00:07:23] Mr. Islami was supposed to to address at the conference [00:07:27] to speak here today, what's notable [00:07:31] is that he was scheduled to speak directly after the [00:07:35] US representative, so far I [00:07:39] haven't received an official statement. from [00:07:43] the Iranian embassy and and the permanent missioner the Islamic Republic [00:07:47] of Iran here in Vienna. I i'm in contact with them, [00:07:51] but they said they have no official statement at this [00:07:54] stage, but there will be a statement throughout the [00:07:58] day. There were number of diplomatic but [00:08:02] also scientific meetings between Iranian [00:08:06] representatives and diplomats from around the [00:08:08] world. [00:08:22] Hello and welcome to Press TV's news review. The any [00:08:25] armed forces say they've conducted a large scale military [00:08:29] operation against key Saudi Arabase in the country's southwestern [00:08:33] city of [00:08:34] Khamis. In [00:08:37] response to the brutal Saudi aggression targeting our country and our people, and in light the [00:08:41] significant. they are carrying out by launching more than 300 air strikes in the [00:08:45] past five days with Saudi F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets launched from Kamas Mashade [00:08:49] and Tafe airbases, targeted most Yemani provinces. By the grace of Allah, the [00:08:53] Yemani armed forces carried out a large scale military operation targeting [00:08:56] military facilities in infrastructure, including aircraft hangers, radar [00:09:00] installations, runways, ammunition depots and other targets at King Khalid [00:09:04] airbase in Kamas Mache. Dozens of ballistic missiles and drones were used [00:09:08] and the strikes were precise and direct thanks to all his power and [00:09:11] might. [00:09:16] The spokesman said the operation inflicted significant damage on the base [00:09:20] saty out to continue military operations deep inside [00:09:24] Saudi Arabia as long as the kingdom continues its aggression against the people [00:09:28] of Yemen. The spokesman warned that any new attack will trigger a [00:09:32] broader and more intense operation by the Amening armed forces [00:09:35] he added that Sanah sticks with its policy [00:09:38] of uh reciprocating any act of aggression. and [00:09:42] maintaining a siege on Saudi [00:09:46] Arabia shipping in the Red Sea until Riyadh ends its [00:09:49] blockade on Yemen, the comments come after the Yemen Armed forces [00:09:53] liberated key areas along the country's western coast that [00:09:57] overlook the strategic straight of [00:09:59] Bababel. [00:10:04] Joining us on this edition the news review we have activist and political [00:10:08] commentator Hussen Albuiti was with us from the Emmy capital san. [00:10:12] and also writer and journalist Hannie batyish is uh with [00:10:16] us from the Lebanese Capital B, gentlemen, welcome to the program. Let's start [00:10:20] off with Mr. Ins, please walk us through the [00:10:24] significance of... these recent largescale operations that have been carried [00:10:27] out uh by the eminy armed [00:10:29] forces. [00:10:35] Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, it has been clear from the latest statement and as [00:10:38] well before in the recent attack from Yemen, retaliation attack against [00:10:42] Saudi, the Yemani army is [00:10:46] focusing mainly on the two the main and the [00:10:49] largest Saudi airbase south of Saudi Arabia, [00:10:53] Khamis Mushait. uh king Khalid in Khamis mush air base and as [00:10:57] well king Fahad airbase a taif in [00:11:01] central Saudi uh those and we've seen that was new [00:11:05] about uh the recent statements by Yemani armed [00:11:08] forces that they they are mentioning the names the the [00:11:12] fighters that have conducted this attack as in the last [00:11:16] five few days they have launched three [00:11:19] air 300 air strike against Yeman using [00:11:23] F 15. and typhoon and why many are [00:11:27] mentioning the names of those fighter jet? because the [00:11:30] so-called the government that is loyal to the saudi or the [00:11:34] saudi backed forces in Yemen, they always claim that they are the one who [00:11:37] are launching this attack, they show you that the Saudi [00:11:41] actually, they are afraid actually from Yemani [00:11:45] and they want to deceive the international community that they are not the one who [00:11:48] target in Yemen because they want to get support from [00:11:52] countries like especially like Turkey and and [00:11:56] pakistan uh because they have signed that defense pact [00:11:59] saying that look is not us who are targeting [00:12:03] yemen, but let's say if it was those attack coming from the saudi backed [00:12:07] forces, mean they don't have fighter, let's say they have fighter yet, mean if they have [00:12:11] any base or airport with with fighter jet that [00:12:15] targeting yemen, yemen will be targeting and destroying [00:12:18] that that that area, that's why this latest attack why they [00:12:22] focusing on those airbase uh because 90 to 95 [00:12:25] 5% the strength the saudi backed forces in [00:12:28] Yemen was the Saudi air strike and air cover. now we've [00:12:32] seen that Yemany has actually limited limited [00:12:36] that by targeting [00:12:38] the those bases themself and asya sarihi said [00:12:42] clearly that Yemen will continue attacking Saudi Arabia [00:12:46] will continue to target Saudi Arabia unless they stop [00:12:49] interfering from Yaman and they this as well the demand that [00:12:53] comes from Said Abdul Malik. uh that our demand is [00:12:57] Saudi to withdraw from Yeman to stop any support for their back [00:13:01] forces and if they don't do so Yemani will keep continue to [00:13:05] advance across Yemen to liberate the rest of Yemen this as well the main goal [00:13:08] and they will continue to target Saudi Arabia we've seen that in the recent [00:13:12] weeks they have almost target all Saudi oil [00:13:15] infrastructure uh in Najran and Jizan and Asir and I [00:13:18] believe soon they will expand uh those attack to [00:13:22] target all [00:13:23] our infrastructure inside the Saudi. Arabia because Yemen will net Saudi, will [00:13:27] not let Saudi to continue their killing, their attack, their [00:13:31] strike, their destruction of Yemen, the support the mercenary and [00:13:35] al-Qaeda and isis and extremist in in [00:13:38] Yemen, no longer, we cannot do that, they have been doing [00:13:42] that since 2015 when they launched the war against [00:13:45] Yemen. Let's cross over to Mr. Bathis [00:13:49] in the Lebanese Capital Beirot, Mr. Batish, the eminy armed forces have [00:13:53] fully liberated the key. city of al- [00:13:56] Makah and in the recent operations [00:14:00] have gained control over almost the entire red [00:14:04] sea coastline, how does this change the realities on the [00:14:07] ground? well clearly [00:14:10] this control the red sea [00:14:14] coast especially and the key islands [00:14:17] along the coast [00:14:20] that yes yes I can. [00:14:26] Yeah, Mr. Bish, [00:14:28] we have loud and clear, please continue. Yes, so [00:14:31] clearly this offers the Yemen led the [00:14:35] government, the Ansarullah led the Yemen government in [00:14:39] Sana, the power to control access to Babel [00:14:42] Mandib, especially since the point, the choke [00:14:46] point at Parem Island is [00:14:50] basically barely 20-21 kilometers across, [00:14:54] so... will place even more pressure on Saudi oil [00:14:58] exports, certainly and even [00:15:01] commercial shipping and commercial [00:15:03] access to to Saudi [00:15:06] Arabia, so this is a game [00:15:09] changer and it was completely unexpected, and what is shocking and [00:15:13] surprising is that the Saudi backed Yemeny [00:15:16] side did not expect this, [00:15:19] which clearly shows [00:15:21] a strategic failure of strategic thinking. I mean [00:15:25] this should have been the most well [00:15:27] defended point, the west, [00:15:31] the the coastline along the red sea, and yet it, [00:15:35] we saw it, within a matter of [00:15:38] days, as we we hear on the [00:15:41] news, there were Saudi backed forces that surrendered in the [00:15:45] thousands in fact, so clearly the stronger [00:15:49] side in this conflict, at least within [00:15:52] Yemen, and the side that has gained [00:15:56] greater popular legitimacy is the Ansarullah [00:16:00] led government in San, even though the Saudis [00:16:03] and their allies continue to refer to the... [00:16:07] back government as the legitimate government and recognized [00:16:10] government, but in times of war nothing can be controlled, nothing [00:16:14] can be predicted, so it was a shock to [00:16:18] many, and certainly to lot the [00:16:22] supporters the resistance front here in Lebanon and [00:16:25] elsewhere, it was much welcome i think [00:16:29] victory. m, let's also talk [00:16:33] about the the bob straight and [00:16:37] in how has SNA managed [00:16:40] safeguard this vital waterway ammit [00:16:44] the all the uh the instability that's taking [00:16:48] place in in the [00:16:49] region [00:16:55] the yemani army when they have seized and liberated that area they have [00:16:58] used mean a good strategy they start to to [00:17:02] liberate all the mountain area that [00:17:05] overseas the coast and the Babel Mandab, meanwhile [00:17:09] the Saudi back forces there, they were focusing only on Babel [00:17:13] Mandab and on that uh coast and hudaida and [00:17:17] Dubab and other area in the coast, they totally ignore the [00:17:20] danger if another uh grow another like army is [00:17:24] is is is taking those mountain after they and finish taken those [00:17:28] mountains by Yermany armed forces they start advancing a matter of maybe [00:17:32] two hours they liberate the entire b but of course [00:17:36] we've seen Yemani army. have said clearly that all ship are [00:17:40] allowed except Saudi ship and we've seen at this time in the [00:17:43] saudi media as well [00:17:44] in the international media they all say why do [00:17:48] why do you accept the saudi so this mean you are [00:17:52] allowing the United ship to go there I mean of [00:17:55] course we are having a forming a blookaid against Saudi [00:17:59] Arabia in the last maybe two months even [00:18:02] before the the control of Babel Mandab it doesn't mean that when you control Babel [00:18:06] Mandab uh mean it will give us more advantage to block [00:18:10] saudi ship, we were targeting ships, we formed the blockade against the zionis [00:18:14] and against united state during the prosperity guardian and [00:18:17] against saudi and we were not at baby mandab, we were using missiles and [00:18:21] drones, we can use them from any area, so this latest taken of [00:18:25] babil mandab is a part the liberation of of yemen and it start [00:18:29] in babil mandab and muka because moka was the largest [00:18:32] base for the saudi backed forces just in that small [00:18:36] area. around mandab from muka to [00:18:40] babel mandab and the islands there united arab emirates has built four airports what do we [00:18:43] need four airports there and four bases so this this actually was going to be [00:18:47] the hub for united state present in in the region [00:18:51] to control uh but of [00:18:55] yemany aart forces and yeman forces of yemany aart forces [00:18:58] and forces designs to stop the genicide and they use [00:19:02] the zinest to stop the genocide and they use it against the saudi [00:19:05] now to to to lift the blue cate [00:19:09] against yemen, so is really a strategic [00:19:12] waterway and all chip is allowed, but if there is any [00:19:16] attack against yemen like they did against Iraq, like [00:19:19] against Iran a major attack from Saudi, United States and Zions [00:19:23] of course they gna use maybe north the red sea, they will try to use [00:19:27] that red sea and the Arabian golf, the golf [00:19:30] of of Eden to target Yeman, if that happens I cannot [00:19:33] guarantee that Babel Mandab will will will stay open. because [00:19:37] yemen at that point they have the full right to close b to [00:19:41] stop those country from using - waters around [00:19:45] Yeman to target Yemen and we have the responsibility of that is [00:19:49] the country that will be trying to target Yemen. Let's take that [00:19:52] same notion to you Mr. Bish, Mr. He believes that the [00:19:56] Babandip straight um could not remain [00:19:59] open um if [00:20:01] the the current situation and the status quo continues. I [00:20:05] want to get your thoughts on that and what ripple effects that [00:20:09] notion could be sending uh to the uh to the international [00:20:13] economy? well, [00:20:16] certainly, I mean, the control the [00:20:20] Babel Mandib straight almost entirely in the hands the [00:20:24] Ansarullah government means [00:20:26] that vital oil exports will be [00:20:30] under threat and if the Saudis do not [00:20:33] concede at least something to... I [00:20:37] mean [00:20:38] we have to remember the Saudis were the ones who started by [00:20:41] blockading Sanah Sana airport hitting the [00:20:45] runway, this whole thing could have been avoided had the [00:20:49] south. is uh sat down with the [00:20:53] Yemeni side and ironed out [00:20:57] a kind of deal, but clearly the [00:21:00] Saudi do not see that the the [00:21:03] continued existence of an independent and free [00:21:07] Yemen is something that threatens their [00:21:10] strategic, let's say interests. We have to [00:21:14] remember that the Gulf countries are small [00:21:18] countries, I mean the... extremely wealthy, but their [00:21:21] population size is small, whereas Yemen is a relatively poor [00:21:25] country with twice the population the Gulf [00:21:28] countries, so the the strategic goal here the the Saudis is to [00:21:32] either control Yemen or to keep Yemen under [00:21:36] bombardment, and again they continue to make the same mistake [00:21:39] as the Israelis have done and the Americans as well, that they [00:21:43] can win this war and defeat Ansarullah with air [00:21:47] power alone, clearly that is not... happening, that's not the [00:21:51] case, and the militarily more prepared and [00:21:55] more determined side has won this case, so the only [00:21:59] solution open to the Saudis and to the Gulf countries, like to the world [00:22:02] right now, is to sit down and to iron out deal [00:22:06] with the ansarullah government. all right, gentlemen, [00:22:10] we're going to leave it there, thanks to my guess active some political [00:22:13] commentator joining us from the Emmy capital [00:22:16] sana and also thanks to writer and journalist honey bathish uh with from [00:22:20] the Lebanese Capital Bayrut, that brings us to an end here on this edition of [00:22:24] Press TV's news [00:22:25] review. [00:23:00] Welcome back everybody, oil prices have jumped by more than $3, the barrel [00:23:04] is tensions in the straight of hormos and Ansarla's advances in the [00:23:07] Babandip shake global markets. Brent Crude climbed [00:23:11] above $107 a barrel extending its rise [00:23:15] um after jumping more than 8% last week. West Texas [00:23:18] intermediate has also trade. above $103 a barrel, [00:23:22] the rise follows advances in Yemen, growing [00:23:26] tensions around the red sea and the tax saudi pipeline that [00:23:30] bypasses the straight of hormos. Saudi Arabia's ministry of energy [00:23:34] has announced the precautionary closure the east-west [00:23:37] pipeline, the disruption is already causing fuel shortages and [00:23:41] price pressures, including in the US where diesel is selling for [00:23:45] average of $6 a gallon, pushing up production [00:23:49] and household. [00:23:57] That's it with this edition of Press TV's world news, [00:24:01] but stick around, we've got plenty more to come here on Press TV, just before we uh sign off, we [00:24:05] do have uh breaking news there as uh Iran's persian golf straight [00:24:09] authority, the PGSA [00:24:10] has... [00:24:32] from bombs stop falling, casualty figures are tallied, names are added [00:24:36] to list, but numbers cannot measure the lives that unravel [00:24:40] after the explosions, wars count those killed by [00:24:44] missiles, they rarely count those who survived them and [00:24:47] may later die of brief. Yes, you heard that right, [00:24:51] brief. 31 year old, sayqi became [00:24:55] one of those. In the early hours of March 26, a U.S. [00:24:59] Israel strike reduced her family home after neighborhood [00:25:03] to rubble. Her husband, local football coach Hussein [00:25:06] Maliki and their two young sons, age five and [00:25:10] three were killed. Around them, nine homes were destroyed and [00:25:14] 24 people died from the US Israely attack. [00:30:37] Good evening and tonight's a spotlight we turn to
