[00:20:35] I lost my husband in the war. I became. responsible for taking my sick
[00:20:39] children for medical treatment and the burden has become much heavier on
[00:20:42] me. No one supports me. I rush between hospitals and take all my
[00:20:46] children with me, because I don't feel safe leaving them with anyone. "my hands
[00:20:50] are exhausted from carrying water gallons alongside walking long
[00:20:54] distances. I don't even have money for transportation. I used to live a
[00:20:57] good life where my husband took care of me and now everything is
[00:21:01] gone. The devastating scale
[00:21:04] the crisis is reflected in United Nations reports,
[00:21:08] documenting the deaths of 246 women and
[00:21:12] girls, average of six lives lost every week since the
[00:21:16] October 2025 sece fire. At the same time..."

[00:21:44] basic necessities such as water, medicine and food amid the
[00:21:48] war, yet despite an inter national legal framework designed to

[00:21:55] resolutions and
[00:21:56] the Rome statute the international criminal court, the international
[00:22:00] community has repeatedly failed to enforce these protections or
[00:22:03] hold Israel accountable, in
[00:22:07] Gaza today, one in four families is lit by
[00:22:10] woman,

[00:22:15] households have no bridge winner, the war didn't just
[00:22:19] destroy homes, It should define them, gods and

[00:25:43] Masa Tahiri was born in 1993 in Iraq,
[00:25:47] Iran, her life journey took her from simple. in her family home
[00:25:51] in Iraq to laboratories and advanced scientific research projects
[00:25:54] in Tehran. She began studying pure chemistry at Iraq
[00:25:58] University and continued her studies in zanjan for her master's
[00:26:01] degree. and eventually became a PhD student in physical
[00:26:05] chemistry at Tarbiyat Mudarres University in Tehran where she
[00:26:09] also taught and worked on research projects, but
[00:26:12] behind the image of a brilliant young researcher was young woman
[00:26:16] with very ordinary and deeply personal world. she loved
[00:26:20] dolls and gave each them a name on her desk. she even kept a
[00:26:24] two-sided doll that reflected her mood, one smiling down for when she
[00:26:28] was happy and one sad side for when she was feeling down.
[00:26:33] In the final years of her life, Massa's path took a different direction. She had
[00:26:37] once considered leaving Iran, including moving to Norway, but she chose
[00:26:41] to stay and devote her scientific abilities to research projects in
[00:26:45] her own country. She worked on projects related to missile
[00:26:49] technology, including heat resistance and radar absorbing materials
[00:26:53] and coding. She was only 32 years old. In
[00:26:56] March 2026, during Israeli and American attacks on Tehran, Massa was
[00:27:00] killed at her home, her injuries were... so severe that her family could
[00:27:04] identify her body only through DNA testing 10 days after her
[00:27:07] death. Her body was taken back to Iraq and buried in the city
[00:27:11] cemetery for marters a site that according to her family
[00:27:15] she had chosen herself. At first glance, Massa Tahi may have
[00:27:19] seemed simply like a brilliant young scientist, but to her family, she
[00:27:23] was daughter and sister who loved her dolls, shared jokes with her
[00:27:26] brother, once dreamed of living abroad and had life that could have
[00:27:30] stretched decades into the future. What remains of that
[00:27:34] are few awards, memories and a small piece of medal from one
[00:27:38] of her scientific projects, reminder of young woman who wanted to use
[00:27:42] science to help advance her country. Her name was Mahsa. She
[00:27:45] was young, she was scientist, and yet when she was killed, her
[00:27:49] death was ignored in the international media, no headlines, no
[00:27:53] newspaper profiles, no sustained coverage the young
[00:27:56] scientists whose life was cut short, her death was met
[00:28:00] with complete silence.
