[00:00:04] Hello, of I'm Chris Williamson and this is Palestine [00:00:07] of Declassified where we focus on the [00:00:09] of international struggle to liberate Palestine and expose Israel's efforts to [00:00:13] manipulate the political [00:00:15] of of class and corporate media. In [00:00:19] of of today's show we'll be revisiting the genocide in South Lebanon, which is continuing to see killings, [00:00:22] displacement and the destruction of homes unfolding every [00:00:25] of day despite a supposed ceasefire. As our video [00:00:29] of report will. plain the United States continues to exert pressure on the Lebanese [00:00:33] government to disarm hisb, meanwhile, the cionist entity [00:00:37] strengthens its plans to [00:00:38] in permanently of occupy South Leven under the guise of so-called security [00:00:42] zone. [00:00:46] The genocide in South Lebanon continues, even though the world [00:00:50] forgets. Since the 2nd of March this year, more than [00:00:54] 4,300 people have been killed, and over 12,00 [00:00:58] wounded, with more than 1 million. people displaced its [00:01:01] peak, although some later return a mid [00:01:04] of ongoing insecurity. villages near the border with the zinist [00:01:08] entity have been raised to the ground, with others even further [00:01:12] out [00:01:13] of suffering extensive damage and destruction. despite a cessation of [00:01:17] hostility supposedly taking effect towards the end of [00:01:20] June, the zionists are still engaged in daily targeted [00:01:24] strikes [00:01:24] of and of killings. [00:01:25] of meanwhile, the United States has continued its attempt to [00:01:29] disar. the [00:01:30] a Lebanese Resistance and to exercise effective control over the [00:01:34] Lebanese Government. On the 26th of [00:01:37] of June, of Lebanon, the US and the Zinist regime, signed a [00:01:40] framework agreement in Washington which was rejected as being [00:01:44] nullen void and humiliation by Hisballah Secretary [00:01:48] General Naim Khassim. He argued that it conditions [00:01:52] any zinus withdrawal a [00:01:55] of disarmment [00:01:55] of the resistance, and that it allows an extended Zionist [00:01:58] presence in the country. South. Design is defense minister [00:02:02] Israel Katz has stated that the Israel occupation [00:02:06] forces will remain [00:02:07] in a so-called security zone in South Lebanon, covering [00:02:11] areas up to several kilometers inside the border. [00:02:15] Despite this, the Lebanese President, Joseph Aun, [00:02:18] of maintains of a slavish posture towards the United States. In [00:02:22] his July visit to the White House, he declared that Lebanon is [00:02:26] counting on the [00:02:27] of US as its sponsor, but this is... not prevented further strikes [00:02:31] against Lebanon. On the 15th of August, the Zionis hit a [00:02:35] house in the village of Ansar, killing seven people, including [00:02:39] three children and two [00:02:40] of women, and later struck Dayer [00:02:44] of Al-Zarani, killing four more. Lebanese authorities recorded [00:02:48] this as one [00:02:48] of the highest single day death tolls since the June [00:02:51] framework. [00:02:53] in The Jone framework leaves Zionist forces occupying Lebanese [00:02:57] territory, while demanding the dismantling. the only [00:03:01] force that has historically constrained the zionist colonization of [00:03:04] Lebanon, but for Lebanon's puppet [00:03:07] of regime on the President Joseph Owen, which is under the willing [00:03:10] tutage [00:03:11] of the Americans, their own status and pockets appear to matter [00:03:15] more than the wellbeing of Lebanese citizens and the [00:03:18] integrity of Lebanon's borders. Well, join me [00:03:22] today is the Bayrut based award winning journalist [00:03:25] of and political commentator Leif Meroth. Leif established Free Palestine [00:03:29] TV in 2012. 3, which continues to provide vital news [00:03:32] coverage on the ground in Lebanon and beyond. [00:03:36] of I'm also joined as usual by our residence expert in the UK's leading scholar liquid of [00:03:40] Israel, David Miller. David recently secured a far reaching legal [00:03:43] precedent, this made it illegal for employeers to [00:03:46] of of take disciplinary action against their employees for publicly opposing [00:03:49] zionism. In addition to his empirical research on zionism, [00:03:53] David's also a co-director with lobbying watch dog spinwatch and a senior research [00:03:57] fellow at the center for islam and global affairs as [00:04:00] university, welcome to the show, well lave, [00:04:03] for those of us don't live this every day, can you [00:04:07] outline the the scale of destruction in south lebanon and [00:04:10] explain what it shows about, for most of us, [00:04:14] this is an area that is 10, 20 [00:04:18] times the size of gaza that is occupied by the Israelis [00:04:22] and they have been [00:04:24] conducting total ethnic [00:04:28] cleansing campaign in this areas blowing up [00:04:31] complete villages, destroying all historical [00:04:35] sites and even [00:04:39] of uprooting the historic [00:04:41] a graveyards of this region, so over for instance [00:04:45] just the last 24 hours, three [00:04:48] villages behind the occupation line [00:04:52] were completely blown up, and this is bringing the [00:04:56] number of villages that have been eraised, [00:05:00] off the map close to 30 villages right now totally [00:05:04] wiped out like that since [00:05:06] the occupation [00:05:08] of the area was you know [00:05:11] conducted. and the seasfire came into effect, [00:05:15] so I think [00:05:17] you know what the Israelis are doing is [00:05:20] genocide and ethnic cleansing a large [00:05:24] scale in south Lebanon the land blowing up all [00:05:28] hillsy the land blowing up all hills and [00:05:31] mountains from [00:05:34] existence, this you know triggered the speaker [00:05:38] the house nabi the head the [00:05:42] the al party to make a statement this [00:05:46] morning saying that the scale [00:05:49] of ethnic cleansing [00:05:53] that is happening in south Lebanon is larger than that in [00:05:56] Gaza. Why is these the so-called June [00:06:00] framework agreement failed to stop the daily zionist strikes in [00:06:04] Lebanon? well [00:06:07] I mean you you don't make an agreement with the cienist entity and [00:06:11] expect that they will keep to it. the violate every cease fire, [00:06:15] every treaty, every agreement, usually before it's even come into [00:06:18] effect, and of course that was the same uh in Lebanon from June [00:06:22] onwards, we've seen uh lots and lots of footage [00:06:25] the mass uh blowing up of [00:06:29] villages of apartment complexes across the whole of [00:06:33] South Lebanon and and it's been a very [00:06:36] significant uh uptaken the tempo of some of those those [00:06:40] activities uh but started off. much more slowly in late [00:06:44] June, now of course the exceeding weeks and also of course they [00:06:48] have tried their best to bring in [00:06:51] Julani, their asset in Syria to attack [00:06:55] hisb, [00:06:56] now that seems to have been uh stopped [00:07:00] by the Islamic Republic of Iran saying to Syria that it would not [00:07:03] tolerate Syrian forces entering Lebanon and that it [00:07:07] would directly strike if they did that, so that's of [00:07:11] course come off. the agenda, but what we're seeing is [00:07:14] attempt to make it impossible [00:07:18] for the people of South Lebanon to return to their villages because they will be so [00:07:21] destroyed that there will be nothing left to to rebuild and [00:07:25] also they will they are clearing territory for what they call security zone but [00:07:29] also of course will be potential for [00:07:33] new Jewish settlements which of course is already some [00:07:36] evidence that's happening although it's been quite difficult because [00:07:40] the uh the lack of military success. they've had in [00:07:44] their campaign to raise [00:07:47] villages, i don't if you recall chris, but was in [00:07:50] lebanon now last year and went to the south right to the border [00:07:54] actually to see some these villages, including one called [00:07:58] kafakila, i was the first to me and [00:08:01] dimitri lascaras were the first western journalist to get there and it was [00:08:05] almost entirely destroyed and you could designers [00:08:08] had only left three days before and it was almost entirely destroyed - [00:08:12] and they carved a massive star of David in [00:08:14] the in the middle of football pitch which we saw from the hills above it, it [00:08:18] was just truly awful and of course they continue with that kind of activity, indeed [00:08:22] if anything escalated into the mass bombing [00:08:26] campaigns [00:08:27] the they've undertaken against particular villages and apartment [00:08:30] blocks, you know [00:08:34] you mentioned [00:08:36] their you you can't trust the the zionist to stick to a treaty, it kind of [00:08:40] reminds me what we now know. about other satlor [00:08:43] colonial projects like the United States of America for example, which made [00:08:47] numerous treaties with the native Americans and broke them [00:08:51] systematically, [00:08:52] I mean this just seems to be feature doesn't it of of settle [00:08:55] colonialism? well, it's the arrogance the settlers, [00:08:59] isn't it? I mean, there's a particular um [00:09:02] dimension to settler colonialism, which we should be conscious [00:09:06] of, but maybe we sometimes forget, which makes it different to the kind of resource [00:09:10] colonialism which - affected other parts [00:09:13] of what used to be called the developing world, so for example India [00:09:17] wasn't a settler colony, whereas which becames the bubble was, [00:09:21] south africa was, algeria was, the north of ireland of course is [00:09:24] remains a settler colony, and what happens is [00:09:27] that the settlers, they start to [00:09:31] adopt their own interests, they start to have their own interests which are [00:09:35] separate from whoever is their sponsor, whether that's an imperial [00:09:39] power or or or [00:09:41] the the home. from which they have come, so that's [00:09:45] a dynamic which you saw in Algeria, you [00:09:48] saw in in Zimbabwe, you saw in South Africa, of course in [00:09:52] America, and the other Australia, New Zealand, etc., because of [00:09:56] course the metropolis quite often takes a more [00:10:00] liberal, imperialist view, and not so much of [00:10:04] a genocidal, directly genocidal view, so there's a kind [00:10:08] of tension there quite often between the different sorts of [00:10:11] imperialist. [00:10:13] in terms of controlling the territory, and that's why that in the end settler [00:10:16] colonies cease to exist, because the the set become so [00:10:20] extreme and so genocidal that either they are kicked [00:10:24] out. or they they they complete settle of colonialism, [00:10:28] which is which means of course [00:10:30] that they effectively eliminate all the natives or [00:10:33] sufficient number the natives that they can't make any difference to politics, such is the [00:10:37] case, for example in Australia, Canada and the [00:10:41] US, but so far in in in Palestine, they've [00:10:45] not managed that, and it looks like it's going to be very difficult for them to manage that, even [00:10:48] though they though they have inflicted heavy blows of course on the palestinian [00:10:52] resistance and indeed on hisballah and of course they [00:10:56] took out the the government of basar alasad, key element the axis of [00:11:00] resistance, but they cannot defeat Iran, so they are a bit of bind [00:11:04] the Netanyahu's most recent statement talks about how they have [00:11:08] effectively destroyed Iran's military capability, it's nuclear [00:11:12] program, it's missile program, and everybody knows that [00:11:16] that's not true, so that's the they find themselves [00:11:19] in, yes absolutely, and and you mentioned [00:11:22] Algeria, David, and of course that's... inspirational tale isn't it where the [00:11:26] resistance did prevail didn't they? but it hear a lot the mainstream [00:11:30] media uh or mainstream commentators actually referring to that but I mean that [00:11:34] that was a real inspirational and and successful [00:11:38] resistance campaign wasn't it that did win through in the [00:11:41] end? yeah I mean the selles have been there for a long time longer actually [00:11:45] than uh the zines have been there at least since 1948 [00:11:49] obviously there were some designers before 1948 but they were there for over [00:11:53] hundred years and they were kicked out. "and as result, Algeria [00:11:57] is now predominantly Muslim country and is an independent country, one [00:12:00] it is the biggest supporters the Palestinians uh, [00:12:04] sure of direct military support for the Palestinians uh that we have in [00:12:08] the world, sure now indeed, but lafe, I mean the Zionists [00:12:12] haven't exactly been having easy time in South Leven and have they, I [00:12:16] mean despite temporarily capturing lots of land, just tell us about some the [00:12:20] difficulties that the Israeli occupation forces have faced [00:12:22] then yeah the..." "the zionist occupation [00:12:26] in south Lebanon is not a walk in the park, it is [00:12:30] very, very difficult military operation, [00:12:34] hezballah is kind of [00:12:37] restraining itself at this moment because the cease [00:12:41] fire, but that is not stopping hizbullah [00:12:44] from ambushing any [00:12:48] Israeli forces that attempt to [00:12:51] move forward in the occupation so..." [00:12:55] where you know the occupation [00:12:59] um is not comfortable, just yesterday also [00:13:03] released some videos their operations [00:13:06] against the Israeli occupation forces before the cease fire [00:13:10] came into effect showing that they are able [00:13:14] to conduct these operations if they want to again and i [00:13:18] think we will be mentarily i think it will going to [00:13:22] be triggered since the morning. "the [00:13:25] Israelis are bombarding villages far away [00:13:29] from the frontline a as as part [00:13:32] their you know overall [00:13:35] policy of you punishing the [00:13:39] population in for anytime they [00:13:43] lose battle on the ground with Hisballah [00:13:45] they you know do collective punishment against [00:13:49] the civilians in South Lebanon so that's that's what's happening [00:13:53] right now and I think..." "you know, if we if we look at all those [00:13:57] videos over the last uh, [00:14:00] you four five months the confrontation between Hisbollah [00:14:04] and the occupation forces, it is clear that they [00:14:07] have, [00:14:09] you know, lost a lot of men and lost a lot of equipment, some something like [00:14:13] 500 tanks were blown up by Hisballah [00:14:16] in this battle. Well, David, what does south [00:14:20] Lebanon tell us about the difficulty this anines are going to have in [00:14:24] actually..." realizing their plan for [00:14:26] a supposed greater Israel, well the difficulty that [00:14:30] they have is at root is demographic [00:14:33] one, they [00:14:34] they aren't even able to demographically dominate Palestine, [00:14:38] because there are about the same number of non jews as that are Jews and [00:14:42] if the right of return was allowed there would be the Jews [00:14:46] would be a minority and and there wouldn't be a Jewish [00:14:49] state, so the the difficulty is that they haven't got enough people to [00:14:53] occupy the new... that the occupy in [00:14:56] Syria or the parts the trying to occupy in Lebanon, they haven't [00:15:00] got enough people and and it doesn't matter how how it's going to take a [00:15:04] long long time for that to be the case, so as result they have to find [00:15:08] other ways to dominate, and that of course means using assets and proxies, [00:15:12] so [00:15:12] for for example syriani is their asset and their proxy, [00:15:16] although of course there are some tensions in that relationship [00:15:19] where the the Syrian government were going to [00:15:22] allow uh turkish troops to deploy. Aleppo, [00:15:26] which which is a threat to Israeli national security interests according [00:15:30] to Benjamin Netanyahu, and they they they [00:15:33] have, they have made sure that this clean clear. [00:15:37] that they will will bomb Syria again, having destroyed almost all their [00:15:41] military capability, same is true of course in Lebanon where they have to [00:15:44] have uh proxies in the government of Lebanon who are quizlings [00:15:48] and effectively is vish regime collaborating with the [00:15:52] occupiers their own country despite the fact that Lebanese [00:15:56] law still requires that they don't do that [00:15:58] so that that's that's [00:15:59] a really significat issue and of course we see the same in the region [00:16:03] as well with the Abraham accords the normalization [00:16:05] processes. United Arab Emirates, key key to [00:16:09] that, Morocco key to that, which of course has an intelligence services which was set up [00:16:13] by the mossad, so all of that is a is an indication that they [00:16:17] can't, they can't send jews out to settle everywhere because [00:16:20] there aren't enough jews and there won't be enough jews and [00:16:23] so that's the problem, sure, [00:16:27] it is absolutely a problem, it can seem to me to [00:16:28] be [00:16:29] a fundamental flaw in the in their overall plan, but late, mean tell us about the the [00:16:32] Lebanese president's humiliating deference to Donald Trump and and what [00:16:36] this means? going forward as a potential [00:16:40] state? yeah, well president [00:16:44] Joseph and prime minister naf salam [00:16:47] have basically bent over backwards to [00:16:51] appease the imperialist and the Jewish [00:16:54] supremacist in their hopes [00:16:57] of getting something in return [00:17:00] it seems like that they never [00:17:02] materialized. [00:17:08] is seems like to be one way, [00:17:11] the way that [00:17:15] um, to show you the level of humiliation [00:17:18] for this government, few days ago, the libanese [00:17:22] ambassador to the UN in Geneva and the human [00:17:26] rights council just spoke lightly [00:17:30] about the crimes being committed by Israel [00:17:34] in South Lebanon, and that triggered uh the [00:17:38] Israeli government to call Trump and uh [00:17:42] then uh Trump's cabinet calling the [00:17:46] president of Lebanon demanding that the uh [00:17:49] this ambassador be removed from his [00:17:53] post and they were referring to one the articles in [00:17:57] the memorandum of understanding between [00:18:00] the own regime and the Israelis which state [00:18:04] that Libanon cannot anymore uh um, you [00:18:08] know, um, bring Israel [00:18:12] and or complain about Israel's [00:18:15] actions in Lebanon, either in [00:18:19] courts or diplomatic venues, which means that it's not only [00:18:23] that the Lebanese government is not going to be able to sue [00:18:27] for damages or for war crimes, but it can't even speak about them [00:18:31] a public way, and that is the level of [00:18:34] humiliation of this government and... [00:18:37] accepted, the good thing for [00:18:41] Lebanon um out of all of this is that [00:18:45] this government, Joseph on and naf Salam have no [00:18:48] power really in the country, neither the [00:18:52] military and or the security forces are under [00:18:56] their control, and they cannot [00:18:59] deliver on the demands the Israelis [00:19:03] and the Americans, they can yap, they can [00:19:07] humiliate. themselves more and more publicly, but that's all they can [00:19:10] achieve. well, David, I [00:19:12] mean in the end, this strategy of of appeasement, isn't going [00:19:15] to go well for the Lebanese president, or indeed is [00:19:19] his prime minister, Anna Salim, is it, or for that matter, the [00:19:23] rest the collaborators in the Lebanese [00:19:25] government? no, look, I mean, the the the position of [00:19:29] Hezball, which of course has representatives in the government, as always [00:19:33] been that they wouldn't um uh coup or... [00:19:37] to try and take over Lebanon, although they would surely be justified [00:19:41] in trying to do so, but that position might change in the [00:19:44] future, but of course what the zinis want is the for is for the [00:19:48] to be a civil war, so they want to try and [00:19:52] engineer sunni gorillas coming in from [00:19:56] from Syria to attack hisballah, and they also [00:20:00] want to engineer of course the Christian filangis, the fascist [00:20:03] militares that there that are in the north more northerly part of Lebanon. [00:20:07] to engage in that conflict as well, of course they were used famously in the [00:20:11] shabara massacers uh back in [00:20:13] the day overseen by the zionists under the watchful eye the [00:20:17] zionists, so the strategy is a strategy of tenting to [00:20:20] try and uh create a civil war which would have [00:20:24] the effect of as they would say the used to say in gaza of mowing the [00:20:28] grass of diverting hisb from [00:20:32] defending against scientist occupation and [00:20:35] invasion to defending themselves. against uh fellow Lebanese, [00:20:39] which of course would would likely be [00:20:43] heavy tool for hisb's personnel, so that that's the kind of [00:20:46] strategy that they're using, because they can't settle everywhere, the... they try and [00:20:50] find ways to destroy all their enemies and set their enemies against each [00:20:53] other and another aspect of this state [00:20:56] it is the fact that yeah the more [00:21:00] um the war and and and and difficulties the sort [00:21:04] of problems you've just been out lining there plays into [00:21:07] the hands doesn't it the military industrial complex mean they [00:21:11] make lots of money down the out of of selling weapons and [00:21:14] we know that britain is implicated in the ongoing genocide because they're continuing [00:21:18] to supply Israel with weapons so so there's money to be made [00:21:22] isn't there out of this as well? there is money to be made and of [00:21:25] course uh supply all sites in the conflict just like [00:21:29] the zionists supply all sides in in politics in the [00:21:33] UK and elsewhere but sometimes those those arms [00:21:36] firms are much more ideological so [00:21:39] the the Israeli arms firms for example elbit for example is [00:21:43] really aircraft industry [00:21:46] that they are quite ideological and are used to [00:21:50] sue uh zinis foreign policy [00:21:53] ambitions, so that of course means that they they they won't sell arms to some [00:21:57] some participants in conflict, but they will sell arms to [00:22:01] those governments which they think they can use or have an advantage [00:22:04] with. now indeed, it's it's a [00:22:08] tragic state of affairs and shows the amorality the [00:22:12] immorality, probably more appropriate description the the arms [00:22:16] dealers really, but I'm afraid that's all we've got time for today. So until [00:22:44] then, this is Chris Williams Hussein. Bye for [00:22:47] now. [00:23:04] On June 13th, 2025, war came to Dr. Ali Fuladman's [00:23:08] home when Israeli strike killed his wife and left the Iranian scientists [00:23:12] seriously wounded. It was not the last attempt on his life. Less than [00:23:15] year later, during the 2026 war, Fuladban was targeted. [00:23:20] Again, this time he was martered. Fuladman was not a [00:23:23] politician, he was not a military commander, he was scientist, [00:23:27] a senior researcher who spent years working on strategic [00:23:31] technologies and national defense [00:23:33] projects. He served at Iran's organization [00:23:37] of defensive innovation and research, known as SPND, [00:23:41] eventually becoming its head of research. His work had [00:23:44] already made him a target of American pressure. On October 1st, [00:23:48] 2025, the US treasury department sanctioned him, but [00:23:52] fuladwan's most important contribution could never be captured [00:23:56] in a sanction list or an official [00:23:58] title. he taught, he trained young [00:24:02] researchers, shared what he had learned and helped prepare new [00:24:05] generation to work in some of Iran's most advanced fields [00:24:09] of science and technology. for him, scientific power was not simply [00:24:13] about what one scientist could achieve, it was about what could be passed [00:24:17] on from one generation to the next and but may explain why [00:24:21] scientists like Fulad Vand can become targets. [00:24:25] Eliminating as scientists may silence one voice, but it cannot erase the [00:24:29] knowledge of that voice has already passed to others. Just days after his [00:24:32] martterdom, the prestigious journal science in its April 6, [00:24:36] 2026 issue reported on the growing Israeli campaign targeting [00:24:40] Iranian scientists and universities. Full advanced death had [00:24:44] become part of a larger story, a war in which those [00:24:47] capable of advancing Iran scientific and technological [00:24:51] future were themselves being targeted, but there is limit [00:24:55] to what an attack can destroy a laboratory can be [00:24:59] hit, a researcher can be killed, a generation can lose one of [00:25:03] its teachers, but knowledge survives, it is carried by the students, [00:25:07] they trained, the researchers, they inspired, and the people who continue [00:25:10] the work after they are gone, that was full advance other [00:25:14] legacy, one no missile could [00:25:16] eliminate. [00:29:42] Tops here on press tv, the Islamic Revolution Garce says it shot down and destroyed [00:29:46] another American MQ1 drone over the straight [00:29:48] hormose.
