The United States Federal [00:00:26] Reserve has raised interest rates for the first time in three years and [00:00:30] to curve inflation driven by soaring fuel prices amid the US war [00:00:33] on Iran, and also in our [00:00:37] headlines, Russia carries out fresh strikes across Ukraine, including the capital [00:00:41] Kiev, killing one person and injuring over dozen [00:00:45] of others. [00:00:48] of [00:00:57] of [00:01:01] Hello and welcome everybody, it's 1:30 p.m. here in the Iranian capital Tehran, [00:01:05] this is Press TV's world news. Our top story for Palestinian [00:01:09] journals, journalists often find themselves working under growing [00:01:12] a pressure and facing detention and harassment. The latest case [00:01:16] is that of press TV corresponent Named whose arrest has raised [00:01:20] fresh concerns over the treatment of Palestinian journalists and her own [00:01:24] safety while in detention. [00:01:27] Checkpoint as she was returning from [00:01:29] a report. assignment, her [00:01:32] of cameraman who witnessed the incident recounts how the events [00:01:34] unfolded. It was three female soldiers who ushered [00:01:38] our car to stop. [00:01:39] of They demanded we hand over our identification cards and they photographed each [00:01:43] ID as well as took our pictures. After a short while the soldiers [00:01:47] ordered the team to get out [00:01:48] of the car and follow them to a military watch tower nearby. We were forced [00:01:52] to sit on the ground for around 45 minutes and in that time naka was [00:01:56] taken by the female soldiers to the side around 15. minutes later, the [00:02:00] soldiers asked Hamed to collect her phone and laptop, and she was [00:02:04] a taken into custody. The Palestinian Journalist Syndicate has condemned [00:02:08] Israel's continued abduction and targeting of Palestinian [00:02:11] journalists including Naqa Hamed. The syndicate said [00:02:14] in a statement that her abduction is the latest example of Israel [00:02:18] detaining a journalist. It noted that Hamed has diabetes and other [00:02:22] health problems. It warned that Hamet's continued detention [00:02:25] raised serious concerns about her health and safety given the harsh [00:02:29] condition. and lack of adequate medical care in Israeli prisons and [00:02:33] detention centers. the journalist has been working as a [00:02:37] of prostifi correspondent since 2024. over the past few [00:02:40] weeks she has been reporting about rising settler attacks [00:02:44] especially in the town sitement on telegram channels and israely [00:02:48] media. the campaign has been slammed as part of a targeted [00:02:52] effort to put psychological and media pressure, [00:02:56] limit the space available to journalists and media outlets and obstruct. [00:03:00] Press TV's [00:03:01] of coverage of Israeli crimes from reaching audiences around the [00:03:04] world. Ahmed was also injured in December last year while [00:03:08] reporting from Palandia refugee camp after Israely forces [00:03:12] targeted her with rubber bullets. Hamed is from the village of [00:03:15] Baitin northeast of Romallah holding American [00:03:18] citizenship and is married with three young children. [00:03:22] Hamed family contacted the US embassy in al-Quds about her [00:03:26] arrest but has yet to hear [00:03:28] a back. Israeli news. outlets cited unidentified Israeli military [00:03:32] sources as saying Hamed is suspected of cooperating with an [00:03:36] enemy entity and may also be under suspicion of [00:03:39] espionage. Hamed's detention is part of escalating wave of [00:03:43] arrest [00:03:43] of of Palestinian journalists by [00:03:45] of Israeli authorities. Nearly 40 journalists are currently in Israeli [00:03:49] detention according to the Palestinian prisoner [00:03:51] of society, all of whom were abducted following the start of [00:03:56] of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza nearly three years ago over. [00:04:00] half [00:04:00] of the journalists behind bars are being held in administrative [00:04:04] detention, mechanism that allows Israeli authorities to [00:04:08] imprison people [00:04:09] of indefinitely of without charge or trial. For hammed's [00:04:12] family, however, the case is deeply [00:04:15] a personal. Three days after her arrest, they're still waiting for [00:04:19] of answers about where she's being [00:04:21] of held, the charges against her, and whether she's receiving the medical [00:04:25] care, medical care. The case of hammed is yet another [00:04:28] reminder [00:04:29] of the... Palestinian journalists face simply for [00:04:33] documenting events on the ground, for now her [00:04:36] of family remains without answers and the questions surrounding her [00:04:39] abduction remain [00:04:41] unresolved. [00:04:47] An Italian lawmaker has filed a parliamentary question over Israel's abduction [00:04:51] of press TV reporter naramed in the occupied West Bank, the [00:04:54] Italian journalist union has also condemned the abduction that once again [00:04:58] highlighted concerns. over Israel's deliberate targeting of journalists reporting [00:05:02] its crimes (press tv's [00:05:04] of max) report from [00:05:05] rome on [00:05:09] wednesday five star movement laker [00:05:12] submitted a parliamentary question to Italy's lower house addressing [00:05:16] the Italian government over the abduction by the Israeli forces of [00:05:20] press tv correspondent nakamed in the occupied [00:05:24] west bank. Naka was abducted a military [00:05:27] checkpoint near Bethlehem on Tuesday after [00:05:31] documenting Israeli settler violence. In Italy, [00:05:34] opposition law [00:05:36] maker Askari publicly criticized the arrest, urging the foreign [00:05:40] ministry to mobilize its diplomatic. network to [00:05:43] ensure press freedom and protect international journalists [00:05:47] reporting from the occupied territories. il [00:05:51] governo terrorista israeliano ha ucciso terrorist israely government [00:05:55] has killed over 300 journalists because journalism is [00:05:59] what Israel fears the most. when i learned about the [00:06:02] arbitrary arrest of this young journalist, i felt it was my [00:06:06] duty to file a parliamentary question addressing Italy's [00:06:10] foreign minister. we yet don't know. where she's been taken, [00:06:14] how she is, if she's assisted by a lawyer, she is [00:06:17] mother, her children want to know where she is. Palestinian [00:06:21] American reporter Naka Hamed had previously been [00:06:25] targeted while covering Israeli military operations in the [00:06:28] occupied West Bank. Over the years, [00:06:32] reports by international media organizations have found that the [00:06:36] Israeli regime killed, wounded or kidnapped an [00:06:39] unprecedented number of journalists in the... occupied palestinian [00:06:43] territories, trade unions and associations [00:06:47] representing journalists in Italy have [00:06:50] repeatedly condemned the Israeli conduct and [00:06:53] deplored the regime's destruction of telecommunications [00:06:57] and media infrastructure in gaza and the west [00:07:01] bank. [00:07:05] the arrest of a colleague in the west bank forcefully brings up number of [00:07:09] issues, including Israel's targeting of journalists in occupied [00:07:13] Palestinian territories and in Lebanon, the public's right to know [00:07:16] the facts on the ground from a war zone, and the fact that Israel has [00:07:20] blocked all independent press access to Gaza. We have several [00:07:24] times condemned the killing of colleagues in the strip, and we regret [00:07:28] that Israel has not heated our calls, internet about Israel's [00:07:32] war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied [00:07:35] Palestinian territories, and in Lebanon, get arrested or [00:07:39] killed in the worst case scenario. We must stop all [00:07:43] this once and for all. Protesters and [00:07:47] activists have on numerous occasions strongly [00:07:51] condemned the Italian media for showing a bias toward [00:07:54] Israel in the coverage, accusing them of complicity in [00:07:58] laundering genocide and promoting an openly [00:08:01] anti-palestinian view. Max Chively Press [00:08:05] TV. Rome. Israel is using [00:08:09] quadcopter drones to target and kill civilians in Gaza. [00:08:12] based human rights monitor has documented at least 60 [00:08:16] killings by these weapons from October of last year until [00:08:20] early September, the Euromed group has spoken of a systematic [00:08:23] pattern of deliberate killings and called for an international investigation. Press [00:08:27] Stev's mosaper reports from Central [00:08:30] Ganza. Israel [00:08:34] continues to use armed the quad copter drones to deliberately kill [00:08:37] Palestinian civilians in the Gaza strip. That's according to report [00:08:41] released at weakened by euromed human rights monitor, the Geneva [00:08:45] based group says it has documented the killing of at least 60 [00:08:49] civilians by attacks using equipters since the seasfire took [00:08:53] effect on October the 10th 2025 through early September this [00:08:56] year. Israel the use of [00:09:00] quadcopter drones to target Palestinian civilians is occurring [00:09:04] amits the ongoing genocidal war on Gaza. Israeli [00:09:08] forces have employed a diverse range of weapons and military equipment, [00:09:12] against Palestinian women and children. Despite the ceasefire [00:09:16] agreement, the killing of Palestinians continues unabated. [00:09:20] The fact that these drones can identify their targets further [00:09:23] underscores the deliberate targeting of children and women, which is seen [00:09:27] as a flagrant violation of international law and [00:09:30] regulations. The Euromaid report speaks of a [00:09:34] continuing pattern to target civilians from a children to farmers, [00:09:38] shepherds and the displaced people returning to check on their homes. [00:09:42] It says Israel uses military technology that allows it to [00:09:45] identify specific individuals, track their movements and [00:09:49] strike them with the [00:09:50] precision. Undoubtedly, [00:09:54] developing quadcopter drones as killing tools is in violation of [00:09:57] international law and conventions that prohibit targeting civilians [00:10:01] under any circumstances. We are witnessing first hand how these [00:10:05] drones are targeting children and women despite their advanced [00:10:09] capabilities to identify their targets. This calls for immediate [00:10:12] action from mediators and international humanitarian [00:10:16] organizations to stop the widespread killing of [00:10:19] palestinians. for many palestinians, [00:10:22] what dones are perceived as the... mostly weapon due to [00:10:26] the multifunctional capabilities, beyond their precision strikes [00:10:30] on civilians, these drones can maneuver and hover [00:10:33] effortlessly in confined spaces, including mixshift [00:10:37] tents. this versatility allows them to be employed [00:10:40] militarily and [00:10:41] beyond. every night we [00:10:45] witness and hear the Israeli quadcopter drones hovering over [00:10:49] our makeshift tents, usually at low altitudes and sometimes [00:10:53] firing on the sleeping people below. "a few days ago, my nephew was [00:10:56] shot and injured by an Israeli quadcopter drone, while a friend of mine [00:11:00] was tragically killed under similar [00:11:02] circumstances. It's not [00:11:06] a coincidence that this report was released while the impact the [00:11:10] 2026 British documentary film NASA is still being filled [00:11:14] worldwide. The documentary demonstrates the same truth, the Israeli [00:11:18] regime uses artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in [00:11:22] its war on Gaza to indiscriminately kill. [00:11:25] is seen on women and children as the [00:11:28] genocidal war on Gaza persists, the Israeli [00:11:32] forces armed with cutting edge technology continue to employ [00:11:36] more lethal weapons against civilians, the world must now ask [00:11:40] itself, what more evidence is needed before halting this [00:11:44] israeli madness, the central [00:11:48] area of gaza [00:11:49] step. [00:11:52] Israeli forces have carried out air strikes the southern Lebanese towns of [00:11:56] Almansuri and majdal zone were also opening [00:12:00] machine gun fire toward the Wadial Hojair area. At dawn, [00:12:03] Israely drones have also been reported flying at low altitude [00:12:07] over Beirout and its southern suburb of Dahya. Our correspondent [00:12:11] Hardy is joining us now from South Lebanon with more. What do [00:12:15] you have to share with us? Like you [00:12:19] said since the early morning the Israeli killer drones did not [00:12:22] escape the skies over. Leban, not only over [00:12:26] south Lebanon, over Tier region mainly south of [00:12:30] tire and tire region towards bjbal and the [00:12:33] western and the central sector, also [00:12:37] here above Marjayon region [00:12:41] and above al garbi, the western biqa region [00:12:45] which is the biqa region that is right next to [00:12:49] south lebanon under Haramon mountain [00:12:52] and also above the cap. the killer drone [00:12:56] activity is increasing day of after [00:13:00] day of course because right [00:13:03] now the situation in Ali Tahir region and [00:13:07] in Nabati region is calmer than it was of course the artillery [00:13:11] shelling didn't stop actually just moments ago an [00:13:15] artillery strike targeted the road [00:13:18] between and Jarma region [00:13:21] after artilleries were striking. [00:13:26] earlier this morning, the strikes on that [00:13:30] region right now is mainly using artillery [00:13:33] shelling and during the night the Israelis are [00:13:37] insisting every night on conducting many [00:13:41] air strikes, massive air strikes that are using [00:13:44] 100 pounds and 2000 pounds bombs, [00:13:48] sometimes above or they are targeting [00:13:51] nabatia and the hill of Ali. they are still [00:13:55] targeting that region added to [00:13:58] it and the shiif arnon [00:14:02] area including under the Bofor castle where the [00:14:05] Israel is right now they said that they are [00:14:09] positioned so despite all of [00:14:12] this operational dominance they are a [00:14:16] fact that there are any kind of threats in that region they [00:14:20] are most the times using these earth strikes to [00:14:23] conduct ' more or inflict more destruction on [00:14:27] these areas and also [00:14:29] they are using nighttime to cause maximum [00:14:32] psychological effect on lebanon and west biqa when [00:14:36] they conduct these very heavy strikes on the hill tops [00:14:39] of south lebanon. also after [00:14:42] this the focus the military effort the [00:14:46] Israelis is focused now on [00:14:50] Almansouri region in the western sector on the [00:14:53] coastal region. Almansouri [00:14:55] is the main urban area and the last main urban [00:14:59] area between the borders, 10 [00:15:03] kilometers or 11 kilometers south of [00:15:07] al-mansouri and tire city, the main [00:15:11] city in south lebanon and the main city [00:15:14] in south of litani that is still under [00:15:18] Israeli pressure until now. Thank you, we're going to [00:15:21] have to leave it there. Joining us from South Lebanon. [00:15:28] Elsewhere, the fourth day the annual IAA General Conference is [00:15:32] underway in the Austrian Capital, Vienna, the prohibition of [00:15:35] attacks on nuclear facilities. is at the top the agenda [00:15:39] of today's discussions, for more details, we go live to our [00:15:43] correspondent, deterine issues with us now from vienna theater, [00:15:46] over to [00:15:47] you, [00:15:52] stay here from the conference hall at the UN [00:15:56] headquarters in Vienna, and as you said the main [00:16:00] agenda item is the one that has been submitted [00:16:04] by Iran and it's about the proh. of [00:16:08] attacks on nuclear facilities [00:16:11] under NPT safeguards in this agenda [00:16:15] item that will start in the afternoon [00:16:18] session uh at the moment there's still the morning session [00:16:22] going on here in [00:16:24] Vienna, so the agenda item on Texas [00:16:28] nuclear facilities will be discussed in the afternoon we can [00:16:32] expect the heat of other countries so far it has not [00:16:36] been published. the joint statement [00:16:38] so we don't know who uh which countries uh will [00:16:42] sign uh this uh statement, we can [00:16:45] expect that the allies of Russia, China and Iran [00:16:49] like Ganisha, Burkina Faso, Nicaragua, Cuba, [00:16:52] Belarus, Sudan uh will sign [00:16:56] it, I'm hearing also that South Africa will sign [00:17:00] it, probably also Brazil, maybe Pakistan, [00:17:03] Indonesia countries uh like um [00:17:07] that this agenda item and this [00:17:11] joint statement is in direct relation to the [00:17:15] attacks the in june [00:17:18] 2025 on nuclear facilities in iran in [00:17:22] spring, but also [00:17:23] the ongoing attacks on Russian nuclear [00:17:26] facilities by Ukraine, most [00:17:30] most importantly the attacks nuclear power plant, [00:17:34] the largest nuclear power plant in [00:17:39] last year at the general conference um resolution was [00:17:43] tabled by the three countries Iran, Russia and China prohibiting [00:17:46] attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities and nuclear [00:17:50] facilities under NPT safeguards, [00:17:54] this was at last minutes [00:17:57] then withdrawn because the United States put [00:18:01] lot of pressure on various member states not to [00:18:05] vote in favor of this resolution. This year there is no [00:18:09] resolution but the joint statement, but we can still accept the heated [00:18:13] debate in the afternoon. In the morning session, the morning session started with [00:18:16] number of technical issues and uh the right to [00:18:20] reply to uh and China [00:18:23] and Russia and Iran. Russia and Iran [00:18:27] once again raised uh that the question of [00:18:31] visa denial on [00:18:34] Monday um... [00:18:37] Islami, the head the atomic energy agency of Iran was [00:18:41] refused entry to Austria. Austria [00:18:44] revoked his visa because of US pressure, and [00:18:48] we we we see a policy of of of Austria, [00:18:52] the host country of international organizations of [00:18:56] withdrawing and revoking visa to several diplomats, [00:19:00] not only rain diplomats, the Russian [00:19:03] and mentioned that 26 visas. [00:19:07] has been denied for Russian diplomats, I know of cases from [00:19:11] Libanese, Bangladeshi, Russian [00:19:13] diplomats, so uh, many countries [00:19:17] accusing Austria of not fulfilling its obligations [00:19:21] under international law and [00:19:22] that they are using uh diplomatic visas as a [00:19:26] political pressure tool uh on behalf the United [00:19:30] States, so that was the topic of - heated discussion in the in the [00:19:33] morning uh session, so we see uh [00:19:37] IEA is deeply split between the US and [00:19:41] and its European allies and many countries the [00:19:45] rest the world. Another interesting agenda item that will be [00:19:49] discussed in the afternoon is nuclear safecars in the middle east. It's [00:19:53] resolution tabled by many Arab countries are [00:19:56] calling for nuclear arms free zone in the middle east and in fact [00:20:00] this is a traditional resolution that shall put [00:20:04] pressure on Israel. [00:20:08] because Israel uh in possession of nuclear arms, but [00:20:12] not [00:20:12] the signatory to the NPT, and this [00:20:15] resolution shall put pressure on on Israel, but [00:20:19] once again it is protected by the west, by [00:20:23] US and Europe, so we we see this resolution every [00:20:27] year, but no action is has been [00:20:30] taken against against this this [00:20:33] state. all right, thanks lot dear, we're going to leave [00:20:37] it there. joining us from the Austrian capital, [00:20:40] Vienna. Moving [00:20:44] on [00:20:44] Iran to four administra abosadocchi says he held successful consultations in [00:20:48] China with his counterpart. Wang a post on xot she said [00:20:52] Iran what she noted uh has been built which she [00:20:56] noted uh has been built over time, he added the [00:20:59] decisions made today will shape the future strategic [00:21:03] balance in west Asia, the potentially far reaching consequences. He [00:21:06] also highlighted Chinese president Shijin Ping's global security initiative as key [00:21:10] element. During his meeting with Wang, she discussed the post-w situation [00:21:14] in West Asia saying the region has entered new order based on [00:21:18] dialogue and cooperation. among regional countries with no place for [00:21:22] foreign interference. Wangi for his part described the US war [00:21:26] against Iran as illegal and stress the need for peace and dialogue [00:21:30] out of she arrived in China on Wednesday for a one-day [00:21:33] visit. The [00:21:37] United States Federal Reserve has raised interest rates for the first time in three years [00:21:41] a bit to curb inflation driven by soaring fuel prices in [00:21:45] at the US war on Iran. The central bank the US said the rates were [00:21:48] highed by 25. basis points, bringing them to [00:21:52] 3.7% to 4%. the decision was made [00:21:56] despite fears opposition from president Donald Trump who had called for [00:22:00] interest rates to be lowered. it also comes just weeks before the [00:22:04] US mid-term elections. fed chair Kevin Wars [00:22:08] said the move was because inflation is too high and [00:22:11] has been for too long. crude oil prices have [00:22:15] soored since the imposed US-Israely war on Iran in February [00:22:19] Brent. is currently trading over $104 a [00:22:23] barrel and the US is seeing record high diesel [00:22:26] prices with the average price reaching over [00:22:29] $6 a gallon, roughly double the [00:22:33] level of year [00:22:34] ago, [00:22:38] and Russia has carried out fresh strikes across Ukraine, including the capital [00:22:42] Kiev, killing one person injuring over dozen people, Ukraine says [00:22:46] 18 people have been injured in Russia's missile strikes in K. and the [00:22:50] black sea port city of Odessa. Russia has also carried out air [00:22:54] strikes against several locations in the eastern Ukrainian [00:22:57] city of Sumi, killing at least one person. [00:23:01] Ukraine has also launched a drone attack against the Russian oil refinery in [00:23:05] the city of Yaroslav, damaging the [00:23:08] facility. Both Russia and Ukraine have escalated [00:23:12] long-range uh strikes in recent months targeting [00:23:15] infrastructures such as warehouses, energy facilities and industry. [00:23:20] real [00:23:20] sites, [00:23:26] that's rap for now, but stick around, we've got plenty more to come here on Press TV, see you [00:23:30] soon. [00:23:50] The question now circulating through business and political circles around the world [00:23:54] is this: does Iran have the right to charge ships for passing through the [00:23:58] straight of Hormus? The answer is not simple: Hormus is [00:24:02] natural international straight, but does being natural mean being [00:24:06] cost-free, the modern world still runs on maritime [00:24:09] transport. More than 80% of global trade moves by sea [00:24:13] oil, gas, food, metals, [00:24:16] medicine, cars, industrial components. and [00:24:20] consumer goods all travel between continents by ship in other [00:24:24] Panama Canal. Bab [00:24:26] el Mandeb, the straight of Malaca, [00:24:29] Gibraltar, and the straight of Hormus, the [00:24:33] energy artery the Persian Gulf. Some these roots are [00:24:36] artificial. They were once land, then transformed into waterways [00:24:40] through massive human investment. Sues and Panama are clear [00:24:44] examples: giant engineering projects built and operated [00:24:48] through excavation, dredging, traffic management, constant [00:24:51] maintenance and complex infrastructure. [00:24:54] That is why passage through them is not free. Economic, [00:24:58] it is deeply political. Economic, it is deeply [00:25:01] political. For years, Britain and France benefited from the canal's [00:25:05] revenues. In 1956, Gamal Abdel Nasir [00:25:09] nationalized the SUS Canal and declared that waterway [00:25:13] located on Egyptian soil had to be under Egyptian [00:25:16] sovereignty. Despite the military attack launched by Israel. and [00:25:20] France to reverse that decision, and despite intense international [00:25:24] pressure, control and revenue the canal ultimately [00:25:27] remained with Egypt, a canal whose annual revenue in peak [00:25:31] years has passed the $10 billion dollar mark, but not all choke [00:25:35] points are artificial, some are natural such as the bosperos and the [00:25:38] dardinels in turkey, the straight of Malaca, [00:25:42] Gibraltar, and the straight of [00:25:45] Hormus. In natural straights, states generally [00:25:49] cannot chart. vessels simply for the active passage, in the same way [00:25:53] road tol is collected, but that does not mean these roots carry no [00:25:57] costs. in many such passages, fees are collected for [00:26:01] specific services. now navigational assistance, lighthouse [00:26:04] services, search and rescue, [00:26:07] pilotage, tug support, port [00:26:10] management, traffic control, and environmental [00:26:14] protection. Now return to Hormus, the Straight of [00:26:18] Hormus is one the busiest and most sensitive maritime roots on [00:26:22] earth. Every day, around 200 vessels may pass through [00:26:26] this narrow corridor, oil tankers, LNG [00:26:29] carriers, chemical tankers, container. ships [00:26:32] and even naval vessels. In such an [00:26:36] environment, a collision between two ships is not a simple [00:26:40] accident. Lives can be put at risk, chipping lanes can [00:26:44] be disrupted. Millions of dollars in damage can occur, [00:26:47] oil, fuel or chemicals can spill into the waters the [00:26:51] Persian Gulf. This is not two cars scraping bumpers a [00:26:55] street. It can become an environmental and economic [00:26:59] crisis, but unlike cars, massive vessels. need [00:27:02] significant time, distance and coordination to change course [00:27:06] or come to a full stop. That [00:27:10] is why passage through Hormus requires constant [00:27:13] management. Just like crowded urban road, the straight of [00:27:17] Hormus needs designated inbound and outbound [00:27:20] lanes, traffic separation zones, maritime [00:27:23] warnings, coastal monitoring, radio [00:27:26] coordination and crisis management [00:27:29] mechanisms. For years, Iran and Oman, [00:27:33] as the coastal states the straight, have carried [00:27:36] major share of this responsibility. While the global economy has [00:27:40] benefited from this route, much the burden has remained with the [00:27:44] region: air and water pollution, the risk of fuel [00:27:47] spills, possible collisions, search and rescue [00:27:51] operations, wider security and [00:27:55] environmental consequences. In this context, Iran's [00:27:59] question becomes easier to understand, is it? reasonable for the [00:28:03] world to benefit from vital straight without contributing [00:28:06] to the cost of keeping it safe, and more importantly, is it fair for [00:28:10] countries that depend on the security of this route to impose political [00:28:14] pressure, economic sanctions and even war on Iran, [00:28:18] while still expecting essential services in this corridor to continue [00:28:22] free of charge. From Iran's perspective, the era of [00:28:25] providing such services without compensation is over. This does [00:28:29] not mean closing maritime roots or using the... of hormos as a [00:28:33] weapon, it means creating a transparent, legal and predictable [00:28:37] mechanism for sharing the costs the services that keep this route [00:28:41] safe and usable, if Suez and Panama collect fees for their [00:28:45] artificial waterways and if some natural straights also [00:28:49] have financial mechanisms for safety related services, [00:28:53] then the straight of Hormus cannot be treated exactly why financing its [00:28:57] safety and management must be taken serious.
