[00:29:30] was only beginning shortly afterward. An F-35 entered the
[00:29:34] picture, one the world's most advanced combat aircraft, designed
[00:29:38] specifically to penetrate sophisticated air defense networks, but
[00:29:42] stealth does not mean invisible. One radar may detect
[00:29:45] only faint signature, infrared sensor may pick up the heat from its
[00:29:49] engines. Another system may detect its electronic emissions, and
[00:29:53] when the information from all these systems is connected through a single
[00:29:57] network, much clearer picture the target begins to emerge.
[00:30:00] That same night, the tracking of... The F-35 reached the level of a
[00:30:04] weapons quality lock, a warning the pilot could not ignore. The
[00:30:08] F-35 did not continue its mission and quickly left the
[00:30:12] area, and perhaps that is the most important part the story. Air
[00:30:15] defense success does not always mean shooting an aircraft down.

[00:30:20] it is enough to stop an aircraft designed to penetrate hostile
[00:30:23] airspace from completing its mission. And now, for the
[00:30:27] United States, the issue is no longer simply the loss of an
[00:30:30] MQ9 or the retreat of... and F-35.
