[00:24:43] behind the image of a brilliant young researcher was young woman

[00:24:50] deeply personal world, she loved dolls and gave even kept
[00:24:54] a two-sided doll that reflected her mood, one smiling down
[00:24:58] for when she was happy, and one sad side for when she was feeling
[00:25:02] down. In the final years of her life, Massa's
[00:25:06] path took a different direction, she had once considered leaving Iran, including
[00:25:10] moving to Norway, but she chose to stay and devote her scientific
[00:25:13] abilities to research projects in her own country. She worked
[00:25:17] on projects related to missile technology. including heat resistance
[00:25:21] and radar absorbing materials and coding. She was only
[00:25:25] 32 years old. In March, 2026, during Israeli and
[00:25:29] American attacks on Tehran, Massa was killed at her home. Her injuries were so
[00:25:33] severe that her family could identify her body only through DNA
[00:25:36] testing 10 days after her death. Her body was taken back to Iraq
[00:25:40] and buried in the city cemetery for marters a site that
[00:25:44] according to her family she had chosen herself. At first glance
[00:25:48] Mahsa Tahiri may have seemed. simply like a brilliant young scientist, her and
[00:25:52] sister who loved her dolls, her and sister who loved her dolls, once
[00:25:56] dreamed of living abroad and had oncedreamed of living abroad and had
[00:26:00] life that could have stretched decade of that. are few
[00:26:03] awards that are few awards, memories and a small piece
[00:26:07] of metal from one of her scientific projects, reminder of young
[00:26:11] woman who wanted to use science to help advance her country. her
[00:26:14] name was maha, she was young, she was scientist, and
[00:26:18] yet when she was killed, her death was ignored in the international
[00:26:21] media, no headlines, no newspaper profiles, no sustained
[00:26:25] coverage the young scientist whose life was cut short, her
[00:26:29] death was met with complete silence.

[00:26:47] with the click of a button, you can
[00:26:51] bring down nations to their
[00:26:53] needs,
[00:26:57] but don't think that decision to recognize Israel is easy

[00:28:04] targeted again, this time he was martered. Fuladvan was not
[00:28:08] a politician, he was not a military commander. He was
[00:28:11] scientist, a senior researcher who spent years
[00:28:15] working on strategic technologies and national defense
[00:28:19] projects. He served at Iran's organization
[00:28:22] of defensive innovation and research, known as SPND,
[00:28:26] eventually becoming his head of research. His work had already
[00:28:30] made him a target of American pressure. on October 1st,
[00:28:33] 2025, the US treasury department sanctioned him, but
[00:28:37] Flodan's most important contribution could never be captured
[00:28:41] in a sanction list or an official
[00:28:43] title. He taught, he trained young
[00:28:47] researchers, shared what he had learned and helped prepare new
[00:28:51] generation to work in some of Iran's most advanced fields of
[00:28:55] science and technology. For him, scientific power was not simply
[00:28:59] about what one scientist could achieve, it was about what could be. passed
[00:29:02] on from one generation to the next and what may explain why
[00:29:06] scientists like Fulad van can become targets. Eliminating
[00:29:10] as scientists may silence one voice, but it cannot erase the
[00:29:14] knowledge of that voice has already passed to others. Just days after his
[00:29:18] martterdom, the prestigious journal science in its April 6th,
[00:29:21] 2026 issue reported on the growing Israeli campaign targeting
[00:29:25] Iranian scientists and universities. Full advanced death had
[00:29:29] become part of a larger story, a war in which those
[00:29:33] capable of advancing Iran's scientific and technological
[00:29:36] future were themselves being targeted, but there is limit
[00:29:40] to what an attack can be hit, a researcher can be can be
[00:29:44] hit, reserger can be killed, a generation can lose one of
[00:29:48] its teachers, but knowledge survives. It is carried by the students
[00:29:52] they trained, the researchers they inspired, and the people who continue
[00:29:56] the work after they are gone. That was Fuladvan's other
[00:29:59] legacy, one no missile could eliminate.
