[00:00:19] But despite [00:00:20] that, especially [00:01:34] The decisions of the governors have taken over [00:01:38] administrative decisions. We will talk [00:01:41] about this entire situation. Dr. Farooq Adil is present with us in the Islam Studio. He is a senior analyst [00:01:45] and author. Thank you very much. Humayun Khan is also with us. [00:01:49] He is a senior journalist and expert on international affairs. Shanila Mar is also with us. [00:01:53] She is a senior journalist and author. Thank you very much [00:01:56] to you too. Owais Shirazi is with us. He is an analyst. [00:02:00] Dr. Farooq Adil [00:02:02] sir. [00:02:06] freedom. Let me Kashmiris had a special status. Kashmir had a special status. A disputed territory with more than 17 resolutions [00:02:09] in the United Nations. Their [00:02:13] right to self-determination was not given first. Then [00:02:16] an excuse was made that we will end it soon. We want to develop the infrastructure. [00:02:20] Now in this regard, there are bitter experiences from the past. [00:02:24] Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti [00:02:27] who were in power and played the role of puppets. [00:02:31] Today they have realized that development does not do anything. [00:02:34] These black laws are actually difficult. [00:02:38] Thank you, Doctor sahib. Look, when you were giving the introduction [00:02:41] and asking questions, I remembered Ahmed [00:02:45] Ben Bella. Ahmed Ben Bella was one of the greatest [00:02:48] leaders of Algeria. And you remember that when he was leading [00:02:52] the freedom movement there, [00:02:56] Pakistan issued him a passport. [00:02:59] He said a sentence about occupied Kashmir, in which he says [00:03:03] that the ocean has been closed in a small pot. He says that [00:03:06] occupied Kashmir is the world's largest open [00:03:10] prison, in which there is no concept [00:03:13] of human rights left, and [00:03:16] people, humanity, understand that human rights [00:03:20] have been violated, the dignity [00:03:24] of human life has also been destroyed. [00:03:28] So this is occupied Kashmir, and this occupied [00:03:32] Kashmir, from 1947 and even before that, the Dogra rule [00:03:35] and its sale, and that whole [00:03:39] story of knowledge is in its place, but [00:03:42] after 1947, [00:03:44] the story [00:03:46] that begins has broken all records. [00:03:50] There is no doubt about that. Okay, now you [00:03:53] see that when this BJP, this cockroach Janatha Party [00:03:56] etc., was fired upon with pellet guns, [00:04:00] they realized what a huge [00:04:03] violation of human rights and what a huge injustice [00:04:07] this is. But you have been firing pellet guns [00:04:10] for a long time. Thousands of children have been blinded because of it. [00:04:14] Their bodies have been riddled with pellets, and [00:04:18] there is a continuous violation of their rights. I am saying [00:04:21] this only to make a comparison that [00:04:24] look, some methods of oppression [00:04:28] are only for occupied Kashmir [00:04:30] and nowhere else in India [00:04:34] is its existence visible. When the CGP went out of control, they were fired upon. [00:04:39] continuing and we are aware of Otherwise, no one in India knows what a pellet gun is. So these are their double standards. [00:04:43] The main thing is that [00:04:46] how much can you suppress any nation by changing [00:04:50] their constitution and their legitimate rights, [00:04:54] their status under the United Nations. [00:04:58] After [00:05:12] this, these different phases, in which their [00:05:16] life and spirit of freedom and spirit of liberty [00:05:20] has been proven with such determination that the world recognizes [00:05:23] it, but anyway, because [00:05:27] there were world interests, and in that, the world has double standards. [00:05:33] after this battle for truth, the [00:05:37] stature that Pakistan gained [00:05:39] and especially the world realized [00:05:43] that Pakistan was attacked for no reason. [00:05:47] In fact, the Indian state itself commits terrorism. Okay, Doctor sahib, I will continue [00:05:51] what you are saying. Humayun Khan, you talked about double standards. [00:05:55] On one hand, after the League of Nations, the purpose of its establishment [00:05:58] was to protect the devastation of war, [00:06:02] territorial integrity and sovereignty. This was the aim under which [00:06:05] the UN was established. Then the UN [00:06:08] Charter, and if we talk about its Article 52, where you will find... [00:07:12] gentlemen, very warm good morning, [00:07:16] we begin with the opening statement: I welcome you all to the ministry of foreign [00:07:20] affairs. Ladies and gentlemen, prime minister, his [00:07:23] excellency, mr. Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif will undertake an official [00:07:27] visit to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 6th [00:07:31] to 8th August 2026. This is starting [00:07:34] today. He will be accompanied by a high level [00:07:38] delegation, comprising the deputy prime minister and [00:07:41] foreign minister, sir and the chief [00:07:44] of army staff and the chief of defense forces [00:07:47] and other ministers. [00:07:51] The DPM will join the delegation from Madina [00:07:54] Munawwara where he made a brief stop over after [00:07:57] concluding his visit to Jordan for the ministerial meeting on [00:08:01] Palestine and Jerusalem. [00:08:05] During the visit, the prime minister, during the visit to [00:08:08] Saudi Arabia, the prime minister will meet his royal highness, [00:08:17] and the prime minister of Saudi Arabia. [00:08:19] Discussion will focus on consolidating the Pakistan, Saudi [00:08:23] Arabia bilateral relationships [00:08:26] as well as exchange of views on areas of regional [00:08:30] and international developments of mutual interest. The visit [00:08:34] marks Pakistan's longstanding partnership with the kingdom of Saudi [00:08:37] Arabia anchored in decades of mutual [00:08:41] trust, cooperation, [00:08:43] and brotherhood. Although taking place against the [00:08:47] backdrop of heightened tensions in the Gulf, the [00:08:50] visit will carry immense significance [00:08:53] beyond the immediate crisis and short term [00:08:57] considerations. It will further strengthen bilateral [00:09:00] relations, deepen strategic cooperation, [00:09:03] enhance coordination on regional and international issues of [00:09:07] mutual interest, and also reinforce [00:09:10] multilateral cooperation. [00:09:13] Ladies and gentlemen, Pakistan remained engaged alongside with [00:09:17] brotherly countries in our sincere efforts to resolve the [00:09:21] crisis in the Gulf and the Middle East, especially with [00:09:24] respect to the standoff in the Strait of [00:09:27] Hormuz. As a littoral state, overlooking [00:09:30] the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf, Oman [00:09:34] has, let me, let us add that Oman has [00:09:37] consistently played a very constructive role in promoting regional [00:09:41] peace and stability. "Pakistan acknowledges and deeply [00:09:45] appreciates Oman's valuable contribution in its steadfast [00:09:48] efforts to further to foster de-escalation and [00:09:52] peaceful coexistence. [00:09:54] Pakistan will continue to actively pursue diplomatic engagements and [00:09:58] support all sincere efforts [00:10:01] aimed at achieving comprehensive, just, and lasting [00:10:05] resolution to this conflict. [00:10:09] And in the same way, and in the context of our own [00:10:12] efforts, on the 30th July, the foreign, the [00:10:16] deputy prime minister and foreign minister held an important telephone [00:10:20] conversation with the foreign minister of kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince [00:10:23] Faisal bin Farhan. [00:10:26] They exchanged views on regional developments including the situation [00:10:29] in the Red Sea, Babal Mandab, and as well as in [00:10:33] Palestine, [00:10:35] and on June 3rd, and on August 3rd, 2026, the deputy prime [00:10:39] minister, foreign minister held a telephone conversation with the foreign minister of the [00:10:43] Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyad Abbas Arakchi. The two [00:10:47] leaders discussed regional international developments including [00:10:50] the deteriorating situation in the occupied [00:10:54] Palestinian territories, countries, and east Jerusalem. The [00:10:57] DPM also invited the foreign minister of Iran to [00:11:01] visit Pakistan. [00:11:03] Ladies and gentlemen, this week the deputy prime minister and foreign [00:11:07] minister undertook an important visit to [00:11:09] Jordan at the invitation of the deputy prime minister and minister [00:11:13] of foreign affairs of Jordan, Mr. Ayman [00:11:16] Safadi. The DPM [00:11:20] visited Jordan. Most of his activities were on the 5th of [00:11:23] August. To participate in the ministerial [00:11:27] meeting on Jerusalem, so this was the primary purpose. The [00:11:30] meeting brought together Arab [00:11:33] League member states and selected Islamic countries to coordinate [00:11:37] a unified response to the deteriorating [00:11:40] situation in the occupied Jerusalem. [00:11:44] Pakistan's participation reaffirmed our steadfast [00:11:47] support for the Palestinian people and its [00:11:50] commitment to establishment of an independent, sovereign, [00:11:53] contiguous state of Palestine, as per [00:11:57] 1967 borders with Al [00:12:00] Quds Al Sharif as its capital. On the [00:12:03] sidelines of the meeting, the deputy prime minister foreign minister held [00:12:06] bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of Jordan, [00:12:10] Turkiye, Egypt, Algeria, Iraq, and [00:12:13] Somalia. The foreign ministers of R4 [00:12:16] countries, R4, as you know, ladies and gentlemen, is a grouping of four countries [00:12:20] comprising Pakistan, [00:12:24] Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. So these [00:12:27] these foreign ministers of these four countries met for the fifth [00:12:30] time since since the inception of this [00:12:34] group. The meeting took place in Jordan on the 5th of [00:12:37] August. The ministers reaffirmed their [00:12:40] unwavering support for the inalienable right of the [00:12:43] Palestinian people, including their right to self [00:12:46] determination and the establishment of an independent sovereign Palestinian [00:12:50] state. They stressed that a [00:12:53] comprehensive and lasting resolution of Palestinian [00:12:56] question remains essential for achieving [00:12:59] durable peace and stability in the Middle East. The ministers also [00:13:03] reviewed regional situation and underscored the importance of [00:13:06] continued consultation, close coordination, and [00:13:10] diplomacy to promote regional peace, security, [00:13:13] stability, and de-escalation. [00:13:17] Another important development, ladies and gentlemen, this week was the [00:13:21] fourth round of Pakistan-US counter-terrorism dialogue. [00:13:26] This this was convened in Washington D.C. this [00:13:29] week and our ambassador [00:13:33] uh Nabil Munir, special secretary of UN, led our [00:13:36] delegation. The dialogue underscored shared interest [00:13:40] in of the US-Pakistan [00:13:43] sides on counter-terrorism partnership and and our [00:13:47] determination of the two countries to confront terrorism. [00:13:51] Delegates exchanged views on the current threat environment, explored [00:13:55] avenues of enhanced collaboration, and discussed [00:13:58] steps to to further strengthen border security [00:14:01] and disrupt terrorist facilitation [00:14:05] networks across the region. The United [00:14:09] States and Pakistan reaffirmed their [00:14:12] joint resolve to confront terrorist [00:14:14] organizations that endanger the safety of their citizens and the [00:14:18] stability of the region, specifically including [00:14:22] ISIS Khorasan, Al-Qaeda. Pakistan [00:14:33] and Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Australia held [00:14:36] two important dialogues. One was the official talks, this is kind [00:14:40] of a bilateral political consultations [00:14:44] at the senior officials level. And the second was the joint trade committee meeting in [00:14:48] Canberra. This was on the 4th of August. The two [00:14:51] sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and discussed [00:14:55] ways to enhance cooperation in in political, [00:14:58] economic, trade, security, and regional domains. Both [00:15:01] countries reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening their [00:15:05] bilateral partnerships. And finally, [00:15:09] we all celebrated, [00:15:12] commemorated Sal, observed it [00:15:16] marking the fifth, the seventh anniversary of [00:15:19] Indian illegal and unilateral action of 5th [00:15:22] August 20, 2019, in the Indian illegally [00:15:26] occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan [00:15:29] reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people's [00:15:32] inalienable right to self- determination in accordance with the [00:15:35] relevant UN Security Council [00:15:38] resolutions. So with this, ladies and gentlemen, I conclude my opening [00:15:42] remarks and open the floor for question [00:15:45] answers. [00:15:53] Thanks. So you have seen the [00:15:55] reaction by the Indian [00:15:59] MSON [00:16:02] on ongoing process of elections and [00:16:06] leave your reaction. [00:16:10] Yes, we have seen those those statements. Pakistan [00:16:13] categorically rejects the baseless and politic politically [00:16:17] motivated remarks by the Indian Ministry for [00:16:21] Ministry of External Affairs regarding the ongoing legislative [00:16:24] assembly elections in Azad Jammu and [00:16:27] Kashmir. It is unsurprising that [00:16:31] India has chosen to issue such remarks on the [00:16:35] eve of the seventh anniversary of its illegal and unilateral actions of [00:16:38] 5th August through which it sought it seeks [00:16:42] to alter the internationally recognized [00:16:45] disputed status of Jammu and [00:16:48] Kashmir. These statements, those actions [00:16:51] were a flagrant violation of the relevant Security Council resolutions, [00:16:55] international law and India's own international [00:16:58] commitments. The elections in in [00:17:02] to the 13th legislative assembly of Azad Jammu and [00:17:05] Kashmir are being conducted in [00:17:07] a peaceful, transparent, and orderly manner, in accordance with the [00:17:10] constitutional and legal framework governing the [00:17:14] AJK. They reflect democratic [00:17:17] aspirations and political will of the [00:17:21] people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. India has [00:17:23] neither the legal standing nor the moral [00:17:27] authority to comment to comment on [00:17:31] democratic process in AJK while it [00:17:33] continues to deny the people of Indian illegally occupied [00:17:37] Kashmir the fundamental political rights [00:17:40] and democratic [00:17:43] add that no amount of misinformation or or [00:17:46] propaganda can alter the legal and historical reality that Jammu and [00:17:50] Kashmir remains an internationally recognized disputed [00:17:53] territory and its final disposition is to be determined in [00:17:57] accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council [00:18:00] Resolutions as well as the freely expressed will of the [00:18:04] Kashmiri people through the UN administered. [00:18:08] India's attempt to invoke misleading [00:18:11] casualty figures cannot obscure its own well [00:18:14] documented record of serious and systematic human [00:18:18] rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and [00:18:22] Kashmir. These includes and are well documented [00:18:25] including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions, and [00:18:29] forced disappearances, effective punishment and restriction [00:18:33] restriction of fundamental freedoms, and [00:18:36] more significantly, to alter the demographic composition in the [00:18:40] occupied occupied territories in [00:18:44] contravention to the international law. So such statements are clearly [00:18:47] intended to deflect international attention from India's [00:18:50] continued violation of international human [00:18:54] human rights and humanitarian law, as well as its [00:18:57] persistent failure to fulfill [00:19:00] international obligations. [00:19:03] Pakistan would therefore reiterate its call on India to reverse the [00:19:06] illegal action, [00:19:09] create an environment conducive to peaceful settlement of the [00:19:12] issue of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the [00:19:16] relevant UN Security Council resolutions. [00:19:31] Pakistan has had any official contact or engagement with [00:19:35] Bangladesh since yesterday. Address that [00:19:38] was there of the excise [00:19:41] and there were some comments made about Pakistan. [00:19:45] Have we had any engagement with that or are we still [00:19:48] consider it an internal issue for [00:19:51] Bangladesh? [00:19:53] Well, of course our diplomatic engagement with [00:19:56] Bangladesh continues. So they are not, they are not [00:20:00] bound by one single event, they are [00:20:03] bound or constrained by one single event. So I'm sure [00:20:06] the diplomatic engagement between the two [00:20:09] sides through normal diplomatic channels in Dhaka [00:20:13] and Islamabad are [00:20:17] the developments, particularly with [00:20:20] reference to the event [00:20:21] yesterday. [00:20:24] We we do not interfere in internal affairs [00:20:27] of other countries and as such we do not have any [00:20:31] comment to offer. The [00:20:33] fact that this statement was made from India is a matter of [00:20:37] between those two countries, Bangladesh and India. [00:20:41] Let me add that people of Bangladesh are fully [00:20:44] capable to resolve their issues [00:20:47] independently without external interference. We [00:20:51] respect their sovereign choices and will continue to [00:20:54] cooperate with them in the journey towards [00:20:58] progress and prosperity. [00:21:10] Thank you so much. The Indian Ministry [00:21:14] Spokesperson has [00:21:17] usually rejected these comments made by. [00:21:33] Yes, we saw the statement issued this [00:21:35] morning [00:21:38] by the Indian MEA. We categorically reject the [00:21:42] statements and its self-serving [00:21:44] eulogy of India's illegal actions of 5th [00:21:48] August 2019. The Indian leadership has been expressing [00:21:51] this self-serving eulogy [00:21:54] of India's actions. No unilateral [00:21:57] action by India, nor any amount of rhetoric can alter [00:22:01] the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and [00:22:04] Kashmir or deny the people of Jammu and [00:22:07] Kashmir their inalienable right under [00:22:11] international law and relevant UN Security Council resolution. [00:22:15] The reality in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is [00:22:19] that prolonged and heavy military [00:22:21] presence, [00:22:24] coupled with draconian laws continue to facilitate [00:22:28] demographic change aimed at altering the territory [00:22:31] of Muslim majority, the territory's Muslim majority [00:22:35] character. At the same time, systemic [00:22:38] efforts persist to suppress the voices of Kashmiri [00:22:42] people and erase their distinct identity. The [00:22:45] claims of so-called development cannot [00:22:48] substitute for the inalienable right of the people of Jammu and [00:22:52] Kashmir to determine their own future through a free and impartial plebiscite [00:22:55] under the auspices of the United Nations in in accordance with the UN [00:22:59] Security Council resolutions. So we remain [00:23:02] unwavering in our support for the just struggle of the people [00:23:05] of Jammu and Kashmir and we call upon India to reverse its [00:23:09] illegal and unilateral measures and its human rights [00:23:13] violation and engage in the peaceful resolution of Jammu and [00:23:17] Kashmir in accordance with the relevant UN Security. [00:24:05] The meeting will discuss bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest and areas [00:24:08] of cooperation. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas [00:24:12] Araqchi also had a telephonic conversation. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar [00:24:15] has made an important visit to Jordan. Deputy Spokesperson, Spokesperson Foreign [00:24:19] Office. [00:30:09] Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif will visit Saudi Arabia from 8th to 8th August. [00:30:13] The Prime Minister will meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. [00:30:16] Bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest and areas of cooperation [00:30:20] will be discussed. A high-level delegation will also accompany the Prime Minister. Spokesperson [00:30:24] of the Foreign Office's news [00:30:25] briefing.
