[00:00:00] "there's a feeling, especially in the last three years and since the [00:00:04] Hamas attack on Israel, there's a [00:00:07] lot [00:00:08] of the nervousness that [00:00:12] turns people's mind to see black and [00:00:15] white, it's either Jewish, Israeli [00:00:19] or enemies, the rest [00:00:21] of the world. Christianity is only learned through the traumas [00:00:24] and the realistic traumas [00:00:27] of the Jewish people. The only thing [00:00:28] a you'l know about Christians..." is that they persecuted us, they [00:00:32] shed our blood, and to it, the government [00:00:36] who is really pushing towards a very [00:00:39] haalachic, religious state, at [00:00:43] least half of this country was taken captive [00:00:47] and [00:00:47] in hostages by this mindset, in one [00:00:50] of the most brutal attacks caught on camera this year a none from another [00:00:54] mission was slammed to the ground, that video sparked international [00:00:58] outrage, the assaliant... has been charged, but most [00:01:02] of of these crimes go unpunished. The police [00:01:05] closing the files that I submit, it means not [00:01:09] that the police couldn't catch them, they were not interested enough [00:01:13] in catching them, but they were not interested because the authorities above told the [00:01:16] police, don't bother about it. The RFDC has volunteers across [00:01:20] Israel ready to document potential anti-christian harassment and [00:01:24] attacks, but even Jiska is aware that there are many [00:01:28] incidents that still go unrep'. [00:01:30] The details [00:01:31] of the attack on the sisters though reached the desk [00:01:33] of the Russian ambassador. He's now raised it with the Israeli police and [00:01:37] told RT action was being [00:01:39] a [00:01:40] of taken. This is an absolutely [00:01:44] of unacceptable situation as it has negative psychological impact on [00:01:47] representatives [00:01:48] of the clurgy calls into question interreligious peace and harmony, the [00:01:52] balance and status quo in interreligious relations and generally sends bad [00:01:56] signals to Christians about the supposed undesirability [00:01:59] of their. here in the holy land. I have the impression that the Israeli [00:02:02] authorities, including the police, realize the seriousness [00:02:05] of these incidents and are prepared to take measures to address them. During our meeting, [00:02:09] General Ketsuni informed us those teenagers who were seen throwing stones at the [00:02:13] sisters [00:02:13] of the Gordinski monastery on July 23 were detained. [00:02:17] of While she's briavely spoken to RT, sister [00:02:20] of Elizabetta admitted to us that the attack left her scared to [00:02:23] death. That very first night, we were so scared, we were [00:02:27] paralyzed with [00:02:28] of fear. I can honestly say that [00:02:29] for the... first time I was afraid to go out alone the next morning, I mean [00:02:33] we were never afraid before, [00:02:36] of of never. Her face may keep her strong, but she is only human. [00:02:39] Sister Elizabeth is courage to speak out will hopefully now give others the [00:02:43] strength to follow in her footsteps. Charlotte [00:02:47] Dubinsky, for RT in Jerusalem. You [00:02:51] can read more about all the stories recovering here on RT international on our website [00:02:54] rt.com. Bye for [00:02:59] of now. [00:03:05] "I think we have so much anger because there is so many people [00:03:09] that that want something for this country that the [00:03:12] majority people don't [00:03:13] of want. Um, we do not want to be enemies [00:03:16] of the world, we do not want to be enemies of our [00:03:19] of neighbors, we don't need that, and we don't want to have [00:03:23] of American citizens being murdered in the streets um by government [00:03:27] officials, we just don't want any of that, we didn't ask for that and..." and we would [00:03:30] like things to go back to where we [00:03:32] of cared of deeply about our neighbors and did not break into people's homes [00:03:35] and arrest them and send [00:03:37] of them off to to die somewhere. i think that [00:03:41] the politics have gotten way too [00:03:45] dangerous, [00:03:47] of you know, used to be that if you didn't agree with somebody's politics, you just agreed to disagree, that was it, but [00:03:51] you didn't come to you, fisticous, you did not, [00:03:55] shut friends off and turn away from [00:03:57] of family, it just has gotten so volatile and... just so ugly, nobody wants to be a [00:04:01] part of that, going to give to the monk and this is [00:04:05] the back card and i want to tell them [00:04:07] this, [00:04:13] it's getting colder and colder outside right, we've been [00:04:16] walking for seven states already, [00:04:20] and this is our eighth one, almost come to an [00:04:23] of end [00:04:24] of right, we almost there, but uh [00:04:26] of now i'm sick, so don't know now that the... [00:04:30] medical team is forcing me to [00:04:32] a go ER and thing like that, walking in this [00:04:36] condition and in the cold and [00:04:39] pain, all kind of illness, so it [00:04:43] trainers out lot, we should have peace, that [00:04:47] is not come from outside, but come from [00:04:50] inside, if we cannot have peace for our [00:04:53] own, there will be no world peace in this world, [00:04:57] right, so forgiveness is some thing that to [00:05:00] start with for us to move forward to have peace. [00:05:04] okay, [00:05:32] this journey at all, and you can see on the sash here, there's there's several [00:05:36] badges and pins, um, and we did not want to leave tonight [00:05:39] without um making a uh gester'. [00:05:42] appreciation from our sheriff's office uh from brunsw county and from [00:05:46] Virginia, especially being that Brunzway County has the first stop in Virginia. I [00:05:50] have a badge from uh Bronser County Sheriff's office and a pin [00:05:54] from our CIT um group as [00:05:56] well. [00:06:14] it's more the feelings that I get when I watch them do this walk, it's [00:06:18] powerful and they're they're not shouting, they're not throwing [00:06:21] things, they're just walking, like a warm and fuzzy [00:06:25] feeling from top to bottom, and [00:06:29] you can't help but just stop and and pay [00:06:31] attention, it it takes over everything, I mean I [00:06:35] I'm not a political person, but I personally feel they pen us [00:06:39] against each other, put us on [00:06:48] terminant time in the US, and the march coincides with everything [00:06:52] happening right now, with lot the divisions among us, I think there's definitely a lot of [00:06:55] symbolism in ending this march in Washington DC, where our nation's capital [00:06:59] is and our law makers and politicians are, I think it's important that [00:07:03] we really come together and we need something that something that galvinize the American [00:07:07] people, there's things happening in other countries where our government is [00:07:10] involved that I don't think that. necessarily going [00:07:13] to it's going to benefit humankind, not not just now, but uh, [00:07:17] in the long term. i don't know if ultimately we [00:07:19] be able to fix anything from from watching what these monks are accomplishing, but i [00:07:23] think what it's doing is it's bringing a lot of people together from [00:07:26] different beliefs and backgrounds. [00:07:28] there are a lot of people that would never stand next each other a icy road at [00:07:32] 29 degrees to to see some buddhist monks walk [00:07:36] through when they might be muslim or christian um or [00:07:40] non-denominational. think in general there's just unrest between [00:07:43] everybody, whether it's political, whether it's whatever it is, [00:07:47] just all the unrest, everybody's unhappy, we're supposed to [00:07:51] be united states of america, this is united right, [00:07:55] so why would we not be united, that's the goal in itself within our [00:07:58] constitution to be united, not divided, no way [00:08:02] whatsoever, what we're seeing each and every day and what so [00:08:06] many people are going through, it's really horrible, so I [00:08:10] think now is the time you really have to come together. to have compassion toward [00:08:14] others, i think that's a big thing, we have to do [00:08:17] that, we wouldn't be this close each other on the regular day, [00:08:21] everybody goes, everybody goes their own separate ways, nobody [00:08:25] really really like come together unless is just reminding [00:08:29] everybody that we're all in it together, yeah, whether race, [00:08:32] religion, sex, none of that matters at the end the [00:08:36] day, we all need the same thing, we all crave the same [00:08:40] thing, love, the longing. just feeling like you are a part [00:08:44] of a community can make a big difference, whenever we come [00:08:48] together and you know join hands makes you feel [00:08:50] accepted? well, my friend Bernadit and I have been [00:08:54] watching them since they left Texas and we actually drove down from Long Island, New [00:08:58] York. I think that the state the world that we're in today, [00:09:01] especially here in America, we're really in dark times and I [00:09:05] feel like their message is so clear and to see all [00:09:09] these people here really just brings me so much hope for. [00:09:13] our hopefully near future for peace, we need it, [00:09:17] we're desperate for it. unfortunately we are so divided, and I feel like [00:09:20] something like this is something that could really unify us and give us like [00:09:24] a goal together, like a unified goal for [00:09:28] just living together in peace, no matter what it is. personally for me, I'm [00:09:32] a I teach first grade in New York, and it's very [00:09:35] important to me for the little children see that we [00:09:39] have to have better world, a world has to get. better, they can't, they [00:09:43] have to see a brighter future, not one that looks like this with all this [00:09:47] hate. [00:09:57] feels great, i've been walking for the days with them and [00:10:00] i came down from Ohio, i'm going to try to make it [00:10:04] all the way to dc. why did you come to join? well, [00:10:08] because i want peace, doesn't everybody? i want [00:10:12] them to stop uh kidnapping uh immigrants and [00:10:16] deporting them and i want them to [00:10:20] stop um torturing people in [00:10:23] prison. "even criminals deserve to be treated [00:10:27] with human human rights, people's human rights are being [00:10:31] violated, not even criminals deserve that. these [00:10:35] men the only way that they eat is if someone donates food to them, [00:10:39] and they took a leap of faith to to to step out onto the road, not [00:10:43] knowing where they're going to rest their head at night, and it's crazy because I did [00:10:46] see lot of negative attention that they got in Georgia, which truly [00:10:50] bothered me, which is ignorant to me, because Buddhism isn't [00:10:53] religion." That's the thing, Buddha was a man, he wasn't [00:10:57] a god, you know, so these people are being ridiculed and [00:11:01] treated this way off of sheer ignorance, so maybe [00:11:05] learn, learn somebody's difference before you start mocking them [00:11:09] and and ridiculing them, and you might realize that you have more in common with that [00:13:04] my day yesterday by walking behind the the monks and it [00:13:08] was quite a blessing, i said [00:13:09] i want to start my day today just like i started it yesterday, i [00:13:13] was asked by someone who walked along with me for [00:13:17] a while, well are you walking for peace? i [00:13:21] start here and maybe the rest the world. will take care of [00:13:25] itself, i certainly can't heal the world, but maybe maybe i [00:13:29] can find a little more peace in my remaining [00:13:33] days by being part of this for a little [00:13:37] while. well, aren't we all part the world, so if you and [00:13:40] i feel a little more peace then the world is a little more at peace [00:13:44] by definition, is it not? i agree, i [00:13:48] agree. we've come from near Toronto, Ontario, [00:13:52] canada, specifically coberg, uh, we've driven about [00:13:55] 12 to 13 hours to be here for the walk [00:13:59] for peace uh, this day, the hundredth day the [00:14:03] walk. we wanted to come a time when [00:14:07] they would be close enough to Washington that we could see them before they entered the [00:14:10] capital to come and bring our love all the way from Canada and [00:14:14] to be able to experience the peace and [00:14:17] harmony that the journey is [00:14:21] sharing with all the [00:18:15] y han atravesado varios estados como Carolina del Norte, Virginia, [00:18:19] bajo una situación climática muy adversa de [00:18:22] temperaturas bajo cero, de hecho hace unas semanas uno de esos [00:18:26] monjes sufrió accidente grave, accidente de [00:18:30] tráfico y tuvo que ser ingresado, así que han padecido mucho para llegar aquí, pero lo [00:18:34] importante es ese mensaje de paz, walk [00:18:47] clergy person so I'm a pastor. I'm reminded of several [00:18:50] people in our biblical texts, especially the magi. They were [00:18:54] not necessarily believers the faith, but they saw the [00:18:58] star, and so I believe that God loves us so much, it's [00:19:02] so universal, and I think they are a sign for [00:19:06] us. they came out their comfort, they came out their [00:19:10] monastery and something drove them. i see it as a sign to [00:19:13] do something, if they're spreading peace, they're spending love, it doesn't [00:19:17] bother me. i think God is more inclusive than [00:19:55] sin right here in this holy place, it is [00:19:59] overwhelmed for us, right behind me right [00:20:03] now we have all faithful leaders and in front of you all [00:20:07] you can see see all religions leaders here [00:20:10] together for the same mission, [00:20:13] peace. this is the first time to me [00:20:17] that we are working together, we are walking together on this [00:20:21] path to find peace for our [00:20:23] shell to share that to our nation [00:20:27] and the world. [00:21:21] to see about 10 democrats and and 10 republicans [00:21:24] join the independent party and I think that that would [00:21:28] force some togetherness and hold the hold the [00:21:31] course. I was pointed towards Mandela's [00:21:35] statement that apparently I haven't really memorized about [00:21:39] peace is not just the absence of conflict, it's created an [00:21:43] environment where everybody flourishes. us [00:21:47] working together, when I was younger... you did [00:21:51] workshops to accomplish task, think tanks, [00:21:54] brainstorming, workshops to accomplish an [00:21:57] objective, and that is the way to to get [00:22:01] things done rather than arm wrestling for things, this back and [00:22:05] forth, one step up and two steps back doesn't work [00:22:28] I think there is fear uh right now, because there's a lot [00:22:32] of uh, information out there, and then a lot of things happening at one [00:22:35] time, um, you got people going against each other, you have lot [00:22:39] of political figures speaking out against [00:22:42] other people, and uh, we're supposed to be united, [00:22:46] I mean, you're going to have fear with ice and everything that's going on right now. [00:22:50] 'um, you know, people from other countries wanting to come here, [00:22:54] they don't want to come here now, people think that America is an unsafe [00:22:57] place, um, and that's unfortunate, because not everybody thinks that [00:23:01] way, and so I think this really shows the heart of people, different [00:23:05] organizations are coming against us and to [00:23:09] try and keep us in fear, to keep us under their [00:23:12] control, to think that we don't have power, and we [00:23:15] collectively come together, then we can have some solutions uh, that's [00:23:19] beneficial'. for everyone and I mean it's imperative, we we have [00:23:23] to have it right now, it's so much going on, um, structures are collapsing, [00:23:27] systems are collapsing, and it's what we're going to build from [00:23:39] when we began walk for peace back [00:23:43] in October, we did that with an [00:23:46] interfate celebration, being a spiritual. [00:23:50] group, we always stayed away from politics, we do not [00:23:54] understand politics, just want to remind you all [00:23:58] that, 2,300 miles [00:24:02] over the course of 110 [00:24:05] days hot weather, [00:24:09] please, [00:24:17] before i do anything, I would [00:24:20] love to have my brother monk [00:24:23] ajan mahadam, the one who [00:24:27] lost his leck during the wall for [00:24:29] peace to say some [00:24:32] words to all of us here in [00:24:36] this special moment [00:25:26] and hatred is just causing all this violence and i think also when people have [00:25:30] been so used to a certain environment that fear and hatred do live in, [00:25:34] it's kind of harder to get out of that as well. and it's just easier [00:25:38] for it to thrive in. and when people do see stuff like this, when they [00:25:41] do see walks for peace, when they do see their community coming [00:25:45] together and really just caring for each other, it does [00:25:48] bring more light into. area and it does promote more love [00:26:16] peace is now ended in Washington DC [00:26:20] at the Lincoln Memorial and here, the [00:26:23] stadium, but this journey [00:26:27] will never [00:26:28] ends. [00:26:35] We have to continue our walk for the rest of our [00:26:39] life to turn this world into a beautiful world, [00:26:43] will you walk with [00:27:13] bann territories, let's go, [00:27:17] crimeia here in Iran, we've traveled [00:27:20] to lugansk, and it's happening right here in [00:27:35] forbidden questions, i'm asking them, what's a free country? are [00:27:39] you worried, are you scared? we loosk, are you dictator? there's [00:27:43] a buzz out there that you would make a great next president the united [00:27:47] states. we will show you what they [00:27:57] te in the united states, see, did not know that. that's [00:28:01] the sanchez effect. Tens of millions are now watching and [00:28:05] we're just getting [00:28:06] started. [00:30:24] Russia's investigative committee unpacks the results of its probe into [00:30:27] Kiev's failed invasion the Kursk border region launched two [00:30:31] years ago. this day, and [00:30:35] Brussels extends a helping hand to Kiev's brutal conscription [00:30:39] campaign, the European Union is closing its doors to Ukrainian [00:30:43] men that are eligible to join the army. [00:30:46] Plus, thousands of migrants remain in Suda following an [00:30:50] unprecedented border crossing. We examine the political fallout [00:30:54] as the EU demands that Morocco police the very border, [00:30:58] it contests.
