[00:01:31] in Well [00:01:33] this is the weekly on rt international reaching you live from our news [00:01:37] center in Moscow, I am Mike Hotcha. Now we begin our [00:01:41] program with Saudi Arabia where 12 people were killed and more [00:01:45] than 300 wounded in attack on the main international [00:01:48] airport in Riyadh. A spokesperson for the Yemeni houti [00:01:52] movement confirmed to RRT that he was behind the [00:01:55] strike, that he was the second such attack on the area in as [00:01:59] many days. now onverified footage circulating online [00:02:02] appears to show smoke rising near the [00:02:05] airport, the site has been evacuated and all fights [00:02:09] of flights suspended. now riad based [00:02:13] of correspondent mohammad al rashed reported that the attack [00:02:17] inflicted substantial damage to multiple [00:02:20] terminals which handled domestic and international [00:02:23] flights. [00:02:27] indeed this statement was issued by the... General [00:02:30] of Authority of Civil Aviation, approximately six hours after the initial [00:02:34] announcement made earlier today. It provided details on the number of [00:02:38] casualties, confirming 12 dead and 309 wounded, [00:02:42] including several in critical condition currently receiving treatment at hospitals [00:02:46] in Riyadh. Among the dead were four Saudi nationals, two [00:02:49] Bangladeshis, one American citizen, one Egyptian, one [00:02:53] Jordanian, one Syrian, and one Palestinian. May they all rest [00:02:57] in peace. Airport operations remain. spended for the time being [00:03:01] as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of facilities [00:03:05] and the continuation of operational processes. the recent statement [00:03:08] also confirms that efforts are underway to assess the extent [00:03:11] of the material damages in [00:03:13] me coordination with authorities. today's toll may represent the highest recorded [00:03:17] from either hoothi or Iranian attacks during assaults on the kingdom of Saudi [00:03:21] of Arabia. I must also mention the attempt to maintain operations [00:03:25] of at King Fodd International Airport in Damasham, which is situated outside the [00:03:29] city. We are currently managing the situation as there has also been an [00:03:33] incident outside the airport [00:03:34] of area. of This provides a summary of what has transpired thus far and we are waiting [00:03:38] further details regarding the injuries that are being treated. [00:03:42] Furthermore, we have received information concerning the extent [00:03:45] of the damage to that airport. According to our sources, the [00:03:48] a areas impacted were terminal 3 and terminal 4. Terminal 3 is designated [00:03:52] for domestic flights between cities in Saudi Arabia, while Terminal 4 [00:03:56] accommodates certain international carriers. Now a [00:04:00] senior Huti spokesperson told RT that the group's actions [00:04:04] were a direct response to aggression by the Saudis against [00:04:08] civilian areas in [00:04:09] Yemen. Yes, these [00:04:13] attacks are Yemeny attacks after 12 years of Saudi [00:04:16] of aggression, destroying Yemen infrastructure whether airports, ports, even [00:04:20] wedding and funeral halls as well as schools, hospitals and markets. It [00:04:24] targeted everything in Yemen and targeted and [00:04:26] of destroyed all infrastructure, and today it acknowledges that airports are. civilian [00:04:30] facilities that must not be targeted under international law, but [00:04:34] we say [00:04:34] that we deal with Saudi Arabia in kind and our military operations deep inside the [00:04:38] Saudi entity will continue and will not end except by destroying all [00:04:42] Saudi [00:04:43] of infrastructure belonging to the government, whether military facilities, airports, or [00:04:47] even ports and any vital facilities belonging to the Saudi regime. [00:04:51] We do not do this out of revenge or to take vengeance, but rather to force the Saudi [00:04:54] leadership to accept a comprehensive and permanent [00:04:57] of peace by agreeing to end the war and end the siege by both. [00:05:13] that he says shows dozens of fighters from the saudi-backed [00:05:16] presidential council surrendering to advancing hoodie [00:05:20] forces. now the video comes as Saudi Arabia and its regional [00:05:23] partners plan to step up their military coordination on [00:05:27] Monday raising concerns that the conflict could be expand [00:05:31] further and draw more countries in. now the attack comes [00:05:35] as Saudi led forces in Yemen say [00:05:38] that they have destroyed three rocket launch platforms that are used [00:05:42] by to the militants to quote threaten regional [00:05:45] security. now in fact, the group itself confirmed the Saudi Air [00:05:48] Force carried out 59 air strikes and missile attacks in [00:05:52] just 24 hours, causing multiple casualties. that [00:05:56] professor of political science and mass communication at Qatar [00:06:00] University, Dr. Ali al Hail believes that the main [00:06:04] beneficiary the escalation in the region is [00:06:07] Israel. This is a part the [00:06:11] vicious circle. war between [00:06:14] thehis and Saudi Arabia on one hand [00:06:18] and between thehis and what's called the [00:06:21] legitimate government at the [00:06:24] temporary capital city in Eden [00:06:28] at southern Yemen, well [00:06:32] could be, well from the very first [00:06:35] glance we can say probably [00:06:38] it is, but also we should not... [00:06:44] doubt other sources, Israel probably takes [00:06:48] advantage of this chaos and [00:06:51] Israel has an interest in making Saudi [00:06:55] Arabia bleeding and weakening Saudi [00:06:59] Arabia in order to force Saudi Arabia [00:07:03] into normalization with [00:07:06] Israel, now the prime minister of [00:07:09] Pakistan, ally of Saudi Arabia has... dem the recent huzi [00:07:13] attack on the airport in Riyadh. now shabad sharif [00:07:17] expressed his country's unwavering solidarity with the leadership and [00:07:21] people of Saudi Arabia. earlier this week we got comments from [00:07:25] the editor in chief the Islamabad telegraph Kaswa [00:07:28] Klasra. he said that Pakistan was taking no [00:07:32] chances with regional threats as it placed its military on [00:07:36] standby in case he would need to uphold the Mecca [00:07:39] defense pacts with the Saudis. one the key [00:07:43] figures from howt is gave a statement [00:07:47] that either Pakistan or Turkey they [00:07:50] they are if they collaborated with the Saudi Arabian [00:07:54] forces they will face the music and this was the first time that [00:07:58] Pakistan Pakistan responded with the fuel [00:08:02] force. Pakistan's foreign minister categorically said that we [00:08:06] have we have actually signed an agreement with Saudi [00:08:10] Arabian and we will do everything what [00:08:14] is required to defend Saudi Arabian territory and the [00:08:18] Holy Mosk, the two holy mosque in Saudi Arabia as well, so it [00:08:21] means Pakistan's Islamabad has taken it very very [00:08:25] seriously, let tell you very very clearly that if you [00:08:29] take in account the the [00:08:33] activities the most powerful [00:08:37] field marcher of Pakistan's army, he has [00:08:39] been, he has been, you know [00:08:43] dividing his time between Riyadh and Islamabad during last [00:08:47] couple of months so it means Pakistan is very serious. [00:08:50] Pakistan's head of armed forces have been [00:08:54] available round the cloud for Saudi Arabians and when it comes [00:08:58] to Makka defense Pakistan's you know [00:09:01] defense forces and also Pakistan leadership is on the same [00:09:05] thing. Pakistan has taken everything seriously [00:09:09] either the statement coming from the His leadership. or [00:09:12] anywhere from from the region as well, so it means [00:09:16] Pakistan is fully on board, Pakistan have been collaborating [00:09:20] with Saudi Arabia for long time, but after signing of [00:09:24] Makka pact, it means Pakistan is a party [00:09:27] of Saudi Arabia conflict with [00:09:30] the so it means the Saudi conflict is not [00:09:34] only between Saudi Arabia and howt is but it is also between [00:09:38] he and Pakistan and howt is as in well. [00:09:42] turkey now turkey with Saudi Arabia coming under attack from the Hudis [00:09:46] a daily basis and the Mecca defense agreement between the [00:09:49] kingdom, Turkey and Pakistan in force, Ankara [00:09:53] has caution that it will not send its troops to another [00:09:57] country for any military [00:09:58] offensive. [00:10:12] words Turkey will not send its forces to the territory of another state to [00:10:16] carry out attack. In Mecca, three leaders signed a promise. An [00:10:20] attack on one is attack on all. Turkia, [00:10:23] Saudi Arabia, Pakistan. Two months on that promise [00:10:27] is under fire. Hothi missiles and drones keep hitting Saudi airports [00:10:31] and oil sites. Meeting in Riad, the Mecca Alliance agreed to [00:10:35] send forces to the kingdom and quickly. The committee [00:10:39] decided to move immediately to the practical implementation the collective defense [00:10:43] commitments and to take the necessary measures to provide the agreed military [00:10:47] forces and capabilities and ensure their rapid deployment in the [00:10:50] kingdom. In accordance with the approved arrangements and the national legislation [00:10:54] the parties. thereby enhancing readiness, military integration, and the [00:10:58] collective capacity to confront and counter threats. President Erdogan has [00:11:02] spelled out what that support could look like. Such [00:11:06] support could take the form of intelligence, logistical or ammunition [00:11:09] assistance. More advanced military support could also be considered depending on the scale [00:11:13] the threat. Unkid keeps the details to itself, and reports [00:11:17] are filling the silence. Special forces, pilots and aircraft, [00:11:20] helping defend Riyad and the Holy Cities. An American official [00:11:24] says, " help includes Turkish drone operators, none of it is on the [00:11:28] record, Monday's statement does set one condition: forces [00:11:32] deploy in accordance with the national legislation of each country, in [00:11:35] Turkia that means parliament, and parliament hasn't even [00:11:39] ratified the pact. As for the Mecca agreement, the [00:11:43] process here has in fact matured in terms the work done by the [00:11:46] ministry, but of course for the agreement to take effect, it will come to [00:11:50] parliament, and since this work has matured, it will be sent to parliament within a [00:11:54] few days. Ankara's ambitions reach beyond the red sea [00:11:58] d who leads the nationalist MHP, the ruling party's [00:12:02] partner in parliament says the pact will elevate the country to the [00:12:06] center of global geopolitics. This is an [00:12:09] exceptionally sound and important agreement. Its tendency towards [00:12:13] expansion is also of immense strategic value. If these efforts are [00:12:16] carried out under Turkey's leadership, this will bring us to the center, [00:12:20] making us much more reputable in the world. So the next vote [00:12:24] in. is a treaty, not on troops, sending soldiers would take [00:12:28] a second decision of its own. the arithmetic favors the [00:12:32] government, the ruling alliance, the justice and development party and the [00:12:35] nationalist movement party, holds 326 of [00:12:39] parliament's 600 seats, the largest opposition party wants [00:12:43] no part in it, and its leader uzguruza says, signing [00:12:47] defense pack with a country at war makes tutuk a party to [00:12:50] that conflict. international agreements will have to be approved in this parliament, [00:12:55] if there are soldiers and weapons involved, we do not accept being part of Trump's [00:12:58] Middle East order, we do not accept the adventurism of Trump, which will send [00:13:02] soldiers to the deserts of Yemen for 100 years. Ankara [00:13:06] frames its role as defending Saudi Arabia, the Hutis leader [00:13:10] Abdul Malik al Huti has message for Ankara and [00:13:13] Islamabad. The Saudis want to involve [00:13:17] regional powers, not only from the Arab arena, but even within the [00:13:21] Islamic world. They aim to bring in the Turks and entangle them. [00:13:25] to involve the Pakistanis as well, seeking their help day and night, [00:13:29] calling out for them to assist them, to fight alongside them, to share in the [00:13:33] sin and aggression against our dear people. A senior official, [00:13:36] Muhammad al-Bukaithi says the group doesn't expect Turkish [00:13:40] or Pakistani troops inside Yemen, but even indirect [00:13:44] help he warns counts as joining them war, and last [00:13:48] month he warned Ankara and Islamabad would meet an [00:13:52] iron fist. Yasin I can, rt. [00:13:57] Moving on now immediately after blindsiding Ukraine with [00:14:01] news about its diesel deal with Russia, Donald Trump [00:14:05] decides to up the antes suggesting it's time for new [00:14:08] leadership in Ukraine. It should have never started, you [00:14:12] wouldn't have lost 30% of your country already, you've [00:14:16] lost 30% of your country and you've had over [00:14:20] million people killed, but he could have settled it many times and he chose [00:14:24] not to that. war that should have never started, and I think it's [00:14:27] time for Ukraine to get new [00:14:29] president, now to get more on this, [00:14:33] let's crust live to RT senior correspondent Murad [00:14:36] Gaziev joining us right now, Morad, he seems like [00:14:40] Zelensky once again has fallen out of grace with President [00:14:44] Trump, what more can you tell us about [00:14:46] this? [00:14:50] It does appear that Zelensky has fallen out of grace [00:14:54] and... an unprecedented manner for Donald Trump to come [00:14:58] out and not only say that you [00:15:00] do it's time for for Ukraine to to get another leader for him [00:15:04] to come out and say it's Zelensky's fault [00:15:08] that a peace agreement still hasn't been reached that he has [00:15:12] denied offer after peace offer [00:15:16] coming up with his own conditions we've uh of course [00:15:19] seen this happen multiple times but for the president the United [00:15:23] States to come out and say is again [00:15:26] unprecedented and hugely, hugely [00:15:29] damaging for Zelensky himself. [00:15:32] Zelensky needs to hang to [00:15:36] every single. thread of legitimacy that he [00:15:40] can, this is the same Zelensky whose presidential term [00:15:44] expired years ago, this is the same Zelensky who [00:15:48] has refused election saying, it's it's simply [00:15:51] too difficult even as a Russia has held elections [00:15:55] along frontline settlementts uh [00:15:59] included, so there's certainly the the [00:16:02] diplomatic pressure that is being piled on [00:16:05] Zelensky, as for Russia. Donald Trump thanked [00:16:09] Russia for all the diesel that will now be supplied [00:16:13] to the United States. [00:16:16] Russia agreed to send us millions [00:16:20] and millions of barrels of oil and [00:16:24] it's diesel, that's what we really need. So thank [00:16:27] you. There was a build-up to this, this [00:16:31] didn't come out the blue. You had the United [00:16:34] States with the conflict with Iraq. there's been [00:16:38] a huge shortage in global oil [00:16:41] supplies, the United States, it's you, it's a [00:16:45] common phrase, people vote at the pump, the price [00:16:49] of uh petrol, the price of diesel are [00:16:53] hugely important for American voters as [00:16:57] well as for the American uh [00:17:00] economy, for the financial system, they depend on cars, [00:17:04] on vehicles to get to and from uh... to transport [00:17:08] goods a manner that you know [00:17:11] few European nations depend on, there you [00:17:15] have the United States under pressure due to the conflict with [00:17:18] Iran, asking Russia to supply with diesel fuel to keep [00:17:22] prices lower ahead of elections incredibly important [00:17:26] for Donald Trump, and Donald Trump comes out publicly [00:17:29] repeatedly asking Zelensky to cool it with [00:17:33] strikes on Russian oil refineries. It doesn't matter if that Russian [00:17:36] oil is good. to the United States or to other countries, the point [00:17:40] is to supply global oil markets to keep [00:17:44] prices low. What does Zelenski do? Zelensky comes out and [00:17:48] says we're going to burn it [00:17:50] all. [00:17:54] And at this moment when we are talking about peace, America is allowing Russia [00:17:58] to export diesel. It's millions, billions. In any case, [00:18:02] all of this is directed for war against the people, against Ukraine, against all of [00:18:06] us. I believe. [00:18:07] a weak [00:18:16] This is a weak solution, unfortunately, [00:18:20] decision it's by strong partners again coming [00:18:23] out and right before mid-term elections, critical for republicans, critical for [00:18:26] Trump, Zelensky coming coming out and calling [00:18:30] Trump weak, which is, it's [00:18:34] amazing given that Ukraine itself. [00:18:37] holy depends on US military supplies, be [00:18:41] it drones, be it navigation systems, intelligence, [00:18:45] starlick, the entire Ukrainian communication, military [00:18:48] communications network is based on Starling, its [00:18:52] attacks along the don bass, long-range drones [00:18:55] entirely depend on Starling, the United [00:18:59] States again is dependent on the goodwill [00:19:02] the United States, nevertheless Zelensky feels good [00:19:06] enough. comfortable enough to come out and criticize [00:19:10] the president the United States, the United States, which he is entirely [00:19:14] dependent on on the eve of elections [00:19:17] and to defy Trump essentially in his [00:19:20] calls uh for for reduction and strikes on Russian oil [00:19:24] refineries. Ergo, you have the Russian side coming out and [00:19:28] saying, look, what's been said has been said, and [00:19:32] we've said it for years now, Zelensky is someone [00:19:36] who when give. and the offered to stop this to come to [00:19:40] negotiation negotiated solution, compromise, he [00:19:44] will choose time and time again to [00:19:47] escalate. [00:19:53] account the measures we are taking in response to the terrorist attacks by the kiev [00:19:57] regime, which has opted for escalation and various forms of prolonging the [00:20:01] conflict. he emphasized that Kiev's attempts to halt the advance of Russian troops [00:20:05] along the entire front line by striking deep into our territory [00:20:09] have no prospects of success. Our armed forces fully possess the [00:20:13] initiative and are confidently advancing. At the same time, Vladimir Putin [00:20:17] made it clear that our position regarding the goals and objectives the special [00:20:21] military operation remain unchanged, as does our [00:20:24] readiness for political and diplomatic regulation aimed at achieving [00:20:28] long-term sustainable peace. It was specifically noted that while [00:20:32] the previous conversation between the presidents mentioned the possibility of resuming [00:20:36] trilateral. [00:20:50] main voting day, targeting specific individuals associated with [00:20:53] organizing the elections. The key of regime has essentially derailed the [00:20:57] possibility of immediately resuming the negotiation [00:21:00] process. This is essentially [00:21:03] Zelensky's worst nightmare, when the [00:21:06] statements uh were [00:21:08] published, then they made the rounds, you [00:21:12] know, all over the world, Zelensky began [00:21:16] frantically calling uh European leaders. [00:21:20] essentially trying to garn their support for them to come [00:21:23] out and publicly say, you despite what Trump is saying, we [00:21:27] stand with Zelensky frantically, there [00:21:31] was there were reports of four calls that he [00:21:34] would stop calls with other European leaders when others [00:21:38] would pick up, it was, it was chaos. nevertheless, [00:21:42] nevertheless, this is for Zelensky, Russia and the United [00:21:46] States trading after a break. [00:21:50] of four and a half years, well that is [00:21:54] nightmare for Zelensky, it means that [00:21:57] the these attempts to isolate Russia to [00:22:00] pretend that 12% the world surface doesn't [00:22:04] exist, something that the Europeans have been trying very hard [00:22:08] to do, that that isn't working, worse than [00:22:12] that, Zelensky's own legitimacy is being questioned [00:22:16] by the people who supply most of his munitions. [00:22:58] when it was saying that Zelensky can't be [00:23:01] negotiated with, that he has unrealistic [00:23:04] expectations, for a half years into this war, Russia [00:23:08] saddled with the most severe sanctions [00:23:12] in recorded history, and Zelensky is coming [00:23:15] out and saying, well we need more sanctions, Russia, which [00:23:19] is... again uh stood up to Ukraine's [00:23:22] assaults, 1,600 drones launched [00:23:26] at night, and Zelensky is saying we [00:23:30] just need to launch more drones, this is the [00:23:34] reason that Marshall says, again he can't be negotiated [00:23:38] with, and there need to be new elections in Ukraine, [00:23:42] sentiment that seemingly has now reached the [00:23:45] United States. All right, thank you for. [00:23:50] us up to speed RT senior correspondent Morad Gazdv. Thank [00:23:54] you. And meanwile, [00:23:57] Donald Trump insists that the US won't attack Iran [00:24:01] at least before the American elections next month. However, he [00:24:05] has hinted and the fighting may resume after the [00:24:08] vote. We are having productive discussions with the Islamic [00:24:12] Republic of Iran. I want to make it clear to everybody that while [00:24:16] Iran is in very bad condition, both economically and [00:24:20] Perry, and while the bloccade will remain in full force in [00:24:23] effect, with oil flowing in record numbers of barrels through the [00:24:26] Hormus straight, 22 million barrels, last night [00:24:30] alone, with not one barrel coming from or going to [00:24:33] Iran, we will not be attacking Iran any time prior to [00:24:37] the mid-term elections to be held in the United States on November [00:24:41] 3rd. Iran will not have nuclear [00:24:44] weapon. A while Trump praises his war on [00:24:48] Iran, the fact seem to... into very different [00:24:51] picture, a congressional report has revealed that more than 80 [00:24:55] US aircraft were damaged or destroyed at at the cost of [00:24:59] around 3.3 billion dollars. Iran's foreign minister has [00:25:03] said that US military suffered far greater losses than he [00:25:07] claimed. The real tol is far higher. [00:25:10] Proof, Senkom won't let a sitting senator inspect bases it claims are [00:25:14] fine. You can fool all the people some the time. Amid the [00:25:18] US war on Iran. One question is up in the air, are US [00:25:22] bases actually fine? Now [00:25:24] the latest report from Congress indicates that losses for the [00:25:28] United States so far have been modest, 81 [00:25:31] aircraft down or damaged and financial hit of up to [00:25:35] 3.3 billion dollars. However, the report raises a bigger [00:25:39] question, which is, are U.S. Congressmen and [00:25:42] Congresswomen being given accurate information about Pentagon [00:25:46] losses. These reported incidents may raise several considerations. a [00:25:50] congressional oversight. Congress may assess whether or not it has [00:25:53] sufficient information and time to evaluate the potential effects of [00:25:57] aircraft damage and losses in US military operations and [00:26:00] potential DOD plans or programs to acquire [00:26:03] replacements, but how much damage have US bases actually [00:26:07] suffered in the war? At this point, Trump and Hexith insist the [00:26:11] war is going well for the United States and that Iran has been annihilated, but it's [00:26:15] widely acknowledged that Iran attacked more than 15 US bases [00:26:19] throughout the region. that this point we have Trump [00:26:22] insisting that nothing substantial has been lost. take this [00:26:26] recent response to a question about a US base that was attacked in [00:26:30] Jordan. nope, none whatsoever, no damage, [00:26:34] no, nothing. In the meantime, the Pentagon has declined to [00:26:38] comment on the actual scale the damage. That's why we've [00:26:42] got congressional reports like this. The congressional budget office [00:26:46] is unable to estimate the cost of damage to US bases and facilities [00:26:49] in the Middle East for two reasons. First, the Department of Defense has [00:26:53] not provided the congressional budget office with information about the value of [00:26:57] damaged or destroyed equipment and property. Second, the extent [00:27:01] of repairs or... building [00:27:03] that the department of defense plans to undertake is unclear, and even if the [00:27:06] bases were fully repaired or rebuilt, a portion the cost of doing so [00:27:10] could be paid by host nations. last month, report from [00:27:14] the department of defenses, inspector general said that quote, hundreds [00:27:18] of buildings and structures had been destroyed or [00:27:21] damaged at US military bases in Kuwait, [00:27:25] Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, [00:27:29] Iraq, Oman, and Jordan, but it stopped short. of [00:27:32] giving a price tag for the damage. now we have some voices coming [00:27:36] from the military speaking up as to why that might be. they blew the [00:27:40] hell out of Bahrain. this is major damage to our bases that [00:27:44] hasn't been communicated to the American public. we're standing there with our [00:27:48] eyes closed getting punched in the face. senators are starting to ask [00:27:52] questions. us senator and democrat Chris Murphy [00:27:56] recently tried to inspect the US military base in Qatar. by his [00:27:59] own account he was denied access. He says it looks [00:28:03] like there are certain things the Trump administration is trying to keep out of public [00:28:07] eye, something unprecedented happened during my trip to the Middle [00:28:10] East, [00:28:11] and that is this: I have been denied total access to [00:28:15] U.S. military facilities in the region, in particular in [00:28:19] Cutter, the Alyudeed air force base, which is one of our biggest and most important [00:28:23] facilities in the region. This is Secretary Hegseth, [00:28:27] deliberately trying to cover up the extent of damage, [00:28:31] likely in the billions of... dollars trying to cover up the [00:28:34] true cost of this war, trying to hide the actual consequences [00:28:38] of a war that is spiraling out of control by [00:28:42] the day. Pentagon officials say that Chris Murphy's office was informed before [00:28:46] he left that he would be denied access to the base in [00:28:50] compliance with the March 3rd order from Secretary Hegseth [00:28:53] restricting travel to the area. The question must be asked, what was [00:28:57] the actual cost of this military campaign Washington is [00:29:01] calling Victoria? Yes, and what is it about inspecting these bases [00:29:05] and fortresses that Washington does not want to be revealed? [00:29:09] Caleb Mopen, RT, New York.
