[00:00:00] of World War [00:00:00] II, [00:00:11] of [00:00:21] and he should have an election, and he can't raise the price of [00:00:24] oil, it's not enough. Donald Trump says Kief needs a [00:00:28] new leader, as Washington. lift sanctions on Russian diesel supplies [00:00:32] and that decision is [00:00:34] of deemed weak by Vladimir Zelensky and prompts a Ukrainian delegation to [00:00:38] immediately leave the United [00:00:39] States. The huti's worn [00:00:43] against anyone using Saudi airspace and it comes after devastating [00:00:47] strike [00:00:48] of on Riyad's main airport, leaving 12 people dead and more [00:00:52] than 300 wounded. The hooutis confirmed to RT that they were behind [00:00:56] the [00:00:57] in attack. These attacks are yemeny attacks. We do not do this out of [00:01:01] revenge or to take vengeance, but rather to force the Saudi leadership to accept [00:01:04] a comprehensive and permanent peace by agreeing to end the war. [00:01:08] of As rady attacks are now intensifying across southern Lebanon, they're [00:01:11] increasingly striking areas beyond the shifting boundaries of its [00:01:15] so-called [00:01:16] of yellow zone. As IDF [00:01:18] of strikes of on Lebanon go on unabated, the country's prime minister has [00:01:21] acknowledged the crippling budget deficit leaving financial recovery [00:01:25] a distant prospect. Despite offers [00:01:27] of of support from [00:01:29] of Hezbollah. Most [00:01:30] of the village was destroyed, there is no sign of life. People [00:01:34] were given ready-made housing units to live in, but they are completely bear. [00:01:38] of There's nothing inside. Life is difficult due to the constant presence of [00:01:42] aircraft and ongoing strikes. We are always [00:01:46] of anxious. [00:01:54] It's a busy Sunday at RT International. My name is Ugoor Piskanov and it's [00:01:58] great to have your company. Immediately after [00:02:02] in blindsiding Ukraine with the news about Washington's diesel deal with Russia, [00:02:06] Donald Trump has up to the anti suggesting it's time for new [00:02:09] leadership in Kieve. Is Zelensky [00:02:14] of delaying peace because he can't hold elections while you created that war. [00:02:17] Well, I think he should have an [00:02:19] of election and he could have settled this many times [00:02:22] and he should have an election and he [00:02:26] can't raise the [00:02:27] of price of of oil, it's not enough. It does appear. that Zelensky [00:02:31] has fallen out of grace and an unprecedented [00:02:34] manner for Donald Trump to come out and not only say that you [00:02:38] know it's time for for Ukraine [00:02:41] to to get another leader for him to come out and say it's [00:02:44] Zelensky's fault that a peace agreement [00:02:48] still hasn't been reached that he has denied [00:02:52] offer after peace offer coming up with his own [00:02:55] conditions we've of course seen this happen multiple times. [00:03:00] for the president [00:03:01] of the united states to [00:03:02] of come out and say so is again [00:03:05] of unprecedented and hugely, hugely [00:03:08] damaging for Zelensky himself. [00:03:11] Zelensky needs to hang to [00:03:14] every single thread of legitimacy that he [00:03:18] can. This is the same Zelensky whose presidential term [00:03:22] expired years ago. This is the same Zelensky [00:03:26] who has refused election saying, [00:03:29] it's it's... too difficult even as Russia has held [00:03:33] elections along frontline settlementts [00:03:37] of uh included, so there's certainly the the [00:03:40] diplomatic pressure that is being piled on [00:03:44] Zelensky. As for Russia, Donald Trump thanked [00:03:47] Russia for all the diesel that will now be supplied [00:03:51] to the United States. [00:03:54] of Russia agreed to send [00:03:55] of us millions and millions of barrels [00:03:59] of... oil and it's diesel, that's what we really [00:04:02] need, so thank you, there's a [00:04:06] of build up to this, [00:04:07] of this didn't come out [00:04:08] of the blue, you had the United States, with the [00:04:12] conflict with Iran, there's been a [00:04:15] of huge shortage in global oil [00:04:18] supplies, the United States, it's you know it's a [00:04:21] common phrase, people vote at the pump, [00:04:25] of of the price of [00:04:27] a petrol, the price of diesel are huge. important [00:04:31] for American voters as well as for the American [00:04:36] a economy, [00:04:37] of for the financial system, they depend on cars, on vehicles [00:04:41] to get to and from [00:04:43] of work to transport goods [00:04:48] of in a manner that you few European nations depend on, there you have the United [00:04:52] States under pressure due to the conflict [00:04:54] of with Iran, asking Russia to supply it with diesel fuel to [00:04:58] keep [00:04:58] of prices of lower ahead of a... elections incredibly important for [00:05:02] Donald Trump and Donald Trump comes out publicly [00:05:05] repeatedly asking Zelensky to cool it with [00:05:09] strikes on Russian oil refineries. It doesn't matter. that Russian [00:05:13] oil is going to the United States or to other countries, the point [00:05:16] is to supply global oil markets to keep [00:05:20] prices low. What does Zelenski do? Zelensky comes out and [00:05:24] says, we're going to burn it all. [00:05:27] Ukraine will be prepared to see strikes on Russian oil refineries if [00:05:31] Russia stops attacking our energy infrastructure. Any de-escalation [00:05:35] steps must be reciprocal and accompanied by genuine [00:05:38] guarantees. This is essentially Zelensky. [00:05:43] worst nightmare, when the statements [00:05:46] were published, then they made the [00:05:50] rounds, all over the world, Zelensky [00:05:53] began frantically calling uh European [00:05:57] leaders, essentially trying to garn their support [00:06:01] for them to come out and publicly say, despite what Trump is [00:06:05] saying, we stand with Zelensky frantically, [00:06:09] there was there were reports of four calls that he [00:06:13] would stop calls with other European leaders when others [00:06:17] would pick up, it was it was chaos, [00:06:20] nevertheless, nevertheless, this is for zelensky, [00:06:23] russia and the united states trading [00:06:26] after a break of four and [00:06:30] a half years, well that is nightmare for [00:06:34] zelensky, it means that the these attempts to [00:06:37] isolate russia to pretend the 12% [00:06:41] the world surface. doesn't exist, something that the [00:06:45] Europeans have been trying very hard to do, that that [00:06:48] isn't working, worse than that, Zelensky's own [00:06:52] legitimacy is being questioned by the people who [00:06:55] supply most of his [00:06:57] munitions. [00:07:07] Close down Putin's entire economy, so Russia's mouth shut, don't [00:07:11] feed them with your sales. just impose sanctions on their weapons, open [00:07:14] Starling to Ukraine, you did open it when you were responding to Iran. [00:07:18] There's another way to conduct negotiations that will help push Putin toward negotiations. [00:07:22] He doesn't want this. I think that President Trump can do more and as our [00:07:26] ally, he should do more. And that is [00:07:29] exactly the point that Russia was making when it [00:07:33] was saying that Zelensky can't be negotiated [00:07:37] with, that he has unrealistic expectations. Four and a [00:07:41] half years into. war Russia saddled with the [00:07:45] most severe sanctions in recorded [00:07:48] history and Zelensky is coming out and [00:07:51] saying, well we need more sanctions, Russia, which is [00:07:55] again stod up to Ukraine's assaults, [00:07:59] 1,600 drones launched at [00:08:03] night, and Zelensky is saying we just need to [00:08:06] launch more drones, this is the reason that [00:08:10] Marshall says again he can't. be negotiated with and [00:08:14] there need to be new elections in Ukraine, [00:08:17] sentiment that seemingly has now reached the [00:08:21] United States. Keif is not the only one [00:08:25] against Washington lifting sanctions on Moscow, though, in fact, the EU [00:08:29] will vote on Monday on whether to impose its largest ever package of [00:08:32] restrictions. [00:08:36] Suspending sanctions on Russian diesel provides Moscow with more revenues to wage [00:08:40] war. This is not the time ease pressure on Russia. and Europe won't. On [00:08:43] Monday EU foreign ministers intend to approve the biggest set of sanctions listings [00:08:47] targeting Russia's war machines since the start the war. [00:08:51] Despite Brussels and Kiev singing from the same song sheet, it [00:08:55] seems not everyone in Ukraine is in tune with that, [00:08:58] and one former MP says the biggest threat to his country comes from [00:09:02] Vladimir Zelensky himself. Today, true [00:09:06] patriots the country must understand two points. [00:09:09] First, Vladimir Zelensky will never agree. to an end to the [00:09:13] war, and his continued stay in power is guarantee that the war will [00:09:17] continue. second, the continuation the war will result in the [00:09:21] total loss of statehood for Ukraine and a catastrophe for its [00:09:24] population. it is Zelinski himself whose adequacy and [00:09:28] sanity are subject to serious doubt, who is the main enemy of [00:09:31] Ukraine and its people? too much is it stake. the people are [00:09:35] waiting for justice and decisiveness. Ukraine cannot remain a [00:09:38] hostage to the unhealthy ambitions and personal interests of a man has [00:09:42] imagined himself to be napoleon, and we spoke with ex- [00:09:46] diplomat Andrejenko, a former advisor to Ukraine's prosecutor [00:09:50] general, and he said Zelensky was being used as puppet against [00:09:54] Trump to undermine him ahead the US election next [00:09:57] month. every time since the last two years [00:10:01] Zelansky was trying to sabotage Trump and have [00:10:04] him be more weaken, weakening his position with the peace deals [00:10:07] especially, trying to make them look like fool with the or hitting the oil [00:10:11] refineries. to make Trump look like fool on the situation, [00:10:15] he is not in control, but the problem is it's not just Zelensky, the people [00:10:18] around or Donald Trump w also pushing such narratives, the [00:10:22] deep state actors, Brussel's London. are working to [00:10:26] Berlin and Paris, they're the ones who are giving Zelinsky the power [00:10:30] to move forward on this, and that is the the the biggest [00:10:33] issue, today, thank god, Washington cames [00:10:37] to its mind, and they understand they can play this show, this puppet [00:10:41] for their midterm elections, Zalansky was playing them, now they're gonna play [00:10:45] him, and I also talked about this in your studio a couple uh weeks ago [00:10:49] that Zelensky will be used to replace the the [00:10:53] situation currently be used to replace Zelensky. maybe during the midterms, what is [00:10:56] going to be suitable for the president the United States [00:11:00] to use Ukraine and it show how Ukraine was using them [00:11:04] and again in their show, so this is this is what's really come to, [00:11:08] Ukraine is is just puppet in election [00:11:11] processes, which hopefully in this situation [00:11:15] would come to such a good that there will be a change of government, not [00:11:19] just words from President Trump, and there will be actual peace [00:11:22] afterwards because of... the rhetoric and the [00:11:26] lack of uh professionalism from the leadership [00:11:30] within Europe, we're seeing the changes in Europe happening right [00:11:34] now with especially the opposition parties in [00:11:38] Germany which are now getting the [00:11:41] majority the support the population, France is [00:11:45] heating up pretty badly, Spain and [00:11:49] uh maybe that next is going to be the UK itself, we're going to have [00:11:52] also some some sense come from from the people down [00:11:56] under to the government, so it's changing, but it's not going to be [00:12:00] changing fast enough for the things to cool down [00:12:04] and uh basically back back up the [00:12:08] situation for peace within Europe. Trump hopefully will [00:12:12] continue his rhetoric and not budge for [00:12:15] Europe's initiatives of supporting Zelensky, [00:12:19] change the leadership in Ukraine together with the Russian Federation, agree [00:12:23] upon neutral government. and elections and [00:12:26] not have Europe take any part of this, as uh Marco Rubio [00:12:30] said a couple weeks ago, Europe's position on [00:12:34] negotiating table, it's not there, so this is this [00:12:38] is the reality from Washington, they don't see Europe as somebody who they should [00:12:42] be talking to the same as Russia, so this is the main goals here, what does [00:12:46] Washington and Moscow think, not does what Brussel thinks, Russell is [00:12:49] just uh the problem in the situation, that's why it started the [00:12:53] negotiating table. as of [00:12:55] now: huuti military [00:12:59] spokesperson has warned anyone from using Saudi airspace, and that's [00:13:03] after 12 people were killed and more than 300 wounded in houti [00:13:06] attack on the main international airport in [00:13:09] Riad. [00:13:13] The Yemani armed forces renew their warning to all shipping companies, airlines, [00:13:17] experts, employees, workers and travellers against using Saudi airports [00:13:21] and airspace, as they are exposed to targeting and are a theater. [00:13:25] for operations by our forces, with the exception the airports of Mecca, [00:13:28] al-Mukarrama, and Medina Al-Munawara. We urge everyone to take [00:13:32] our warning seriously, and Saudi Arabia bears responsibility for any [00:13:36] failed interceptions. Unverified footage circulating [00:13:40] online, it used to show smoke rising near the airport, and the site has been [00:13:44] evacuated and all flights suspended. Moscow has condemned [00:13:48] the strike and called on both sides to abandon attacks on civilian [00:13:51] infrastructure. Riyad-based correspondent Muhammad al Rash. [00:13:55] said the strike inflicted substantial damage to multiple [00:13:58] terminals which handle both domestic and international [00:14:02] flights. [00:14:05] Indeed, this statement was issued by the Saudi General Authority of Civil [00:14:09] Aviation, approximately six hours after the initial announcement made [00:14:13] earlier today. It provided details on the number of casualties, [00:14:17] confirming 12 dead and 309 wounded, including several [00:14:21] in critical condition currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Riyadh. [00:14:25] Among the dead were four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshis, one [00:14:29] American citizen, one Egyptian, one Jordanian, one [00:14:33] Syrian and one Palestinian. May they all rest in peace. [00:14:36] Airport operations remain suspended for the time being as a [00:14:40] precautionary measure to ensure the safety of facilities and the [00:14:43] continuation of operational processes. The recent statement also [00:14:47] confirms that efforts are underway to assess the extent the material [00:14:50] damages in coordination with authorities. Today's toll may represent the... [00:14:55] highest recorded from either huti or Iranian attacks during assaults on the [00:14:58] kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I must also mention the attempt to maintain [00:15:02] operations at King Fodd International Airport in Damasham, which is [00:15:06] situated outside the city. We are currently managing the situation as [00:15:10] there is also been an incident outside the airport area. This provides a [00:15:14] summary of what has transpired thus far and we are waiting further details [00:15:18] regarding the injuries that are being treated. Furthermore, we have received [00:15:21] information concerning the extent the damage to that airport. According to our [00:15:25] sources, the areas impacted were terminal 3 and terminal 4. [00:15:29] Terminal 3 is designated for domestic flights between cities and Saudi [00:15:33] Arabia, while Terminal 4 accommodates certain international [00:15:36] carriers. A senior houti spokesperson told [00:15:40] RT that the group's actions were a direct response to aggression by the [00:15:43] Saudies against civilian areas in [00:15:46] Yemen. Yes, [00:15:49] these attacks are Yemeny attacks after 12 years of Saudi aggression, [00:15:53] destroying Yemani infrastructure whether airports, ports, even [00:15:57] wedding and funeral halls as well as schools, hospitals and markets. It [00:16:01] targeted everything in Yemen and targeted and destroyed all infrastructure, [00:16:05] and today it acknowledges that airports are civilian. facilities that must [00:16:08] not be targeted under international law, but we say that we deal with Saudi [00:16:12] Arabia in kind, and our military operations deep inside the Saudi [00:16:16] entity, will continue and will not end except by destroying all Saudi [00:16:20] infrastructure belonging to the government, whether military facilities, airports, [00:16:24] or even ports and any vital facilities belonging to the Saudi regime. [00:16:28] We do not do this out of revenge or to take vengeance, but rather to force the Saudi [00:16:31] leadership to accept a comprehensive and permanent peace by agreeing to end the [00:16:35] war and end the siege by both sides. "the Saudi leadership can agree [00:16:39] to achieve peace, and these are Yemen's demands and [00:16:43] this comes amid a rapid escalation the conflict in Yemen, the Futis have [00:16:47] released footage which they say shows dozens of fighters from the Saudi [00:16:51] backed presidential council surrendering. The video comes that Saudi [00:16:55] Arabia and its regional partners plan to step up their military coordination on [00:16:58] Monday, raising concerns that the conflict would expand [00:17:02] further and draw even more countries in, [00:17:06] and the attack..." forces in Yemen say they have [00:17:10] destroyed three rocket launch platforms that are used by cuties [00:17:14] militants to quote threatened regional security. In fact, the group [00:17:18] itself confirmed the Saudi Air Force carried out 59 [00:17:22] air strikes and missile attacks in just 24 hours, causing multiple [00:17:25] casualties. And for more on [00:17:29] this, let's cross live now to political consultant at Huzai [00:17:32] associates Ahmed Husai. Welcome to the program, sir. [00:17:36] Read? has been struck again, the huti spokesperson told [00:17:40] us here at RT that the movement is behind the attack, what's the [00:17:44] significance of targeting an airport? it's [00:17:48] not just the airport that is significance, mean the escalation the [00:17:51] ansarulah's aggression against Saudi Arabia [00:17:55] has been pushed to the limits, the significance [00:17:59] here is the way I see it is, it's part [00:18:02] the the regional movement [00:18:06] basically since the war of... curted to weaken America's [00:18:10] allies, we have the Hithis from the south, we have the Hisbullah [00:18:14] from the north, the Iraqi militias, as much as the [00:18:17] Iranian attacks on the Gulf are trying to weaken the [00:18:21] of course the civilian infrastructure as much as the [00:18:25] military, and the Mecca defense pact [00:18:29] is active, it appears with Soudie Arabia, Turkey and [00:18:32] Pakistan deploying forces reportedly, while yet another [00:18:36] Saudi airport... has been hit, what developments are expected next [00:18:40] do you think? since the pact was signed, the [00:18:44] only way to evaluate its [00:18:47] functionality is by seeing turkish as much [00:18:51] as Pakistani interventions, either by [00:18:55] troops, by military actions, [00:18:57] strategic, to the naked eye, we haven't seen those, but [00:19:01] basically the moment it is activated then it will be [00:19:04] deemed beneficial. and uh President Trump [00:19:08] stated uh that uh will make decision quote unquote when [00:19:12] asked if the US would join asody strikes against the hooties but [00:19:16] what are the implications of a potential US military involvement for [00:19:20] Yemen and the region uh [00:19:24] before uh I mean before the statement it was clear how the [00:19:28] United States of America saw and evaluated the [00:19:31] situation in Yemen and didn't they didn't want to interven or [00:19:35] even to be involved in that uh matter now, I [00:19:39] understand the statement since [00:19:43] Saudi is one the most important allies in the region, but at [00:19:46] the same time doing it before the midterm elections might pose a [00:19:50] threat to the positioning the Republicans within the [00:19:54] United States, unless they are doing it because they sense how [00:19:58] the movement would be within the United States uh not in [00:20:02] favor the Republicans and that's why they wanted to reignite the war [00:20:06] before the elections. so that they continue even right after the elections [00:20:10] and talking about Saudi Arabia, how vulnerable is [00:20:14] its critical infrastructure to missile and drone attacks and can its [00:20:18] air defenses handle this threat? [00:20:21] uh, it's not as critical as it's advertised on [00:20:25] media uh giving that the size of Saudi Arabia is [00:20:28] big. we've seen the same thing happening in Iran, it's not easy to [00:20:32] protect all the land when the land is big, yet at the same [00:20:35] time uh... We have to understand that the infrastructure of [00:20:39] course it's important and along with the infrastructure we started to [00:20:43] see losses in civilian lives. This is an [00:20:47] important escalation that could not and should not. be left [00:20:50] unanswered, hence we will see [00:20:54] developments on escalations over the next few hours or the next few [00:20:57] days. all right, ah, political consultant, huzai [00:21:01] associates, thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your thoughts with us [00:21:05] on this. thank you. now with Saudi [00:21:09] Arabia coming under attack from the hootis a daily basis and the mecha [00:21:13] defensive agreement between the kingdom, turkey and Pakistan in [00:21:16] force. Ankara, however, has cautioned that it will not. [00:21:29] When a state party to this agreement comes under attack, you stand by it to help it [00:21:33] defend itself. This is not an offensive agreement. In other words, Turkey [00:21:37] will not send its forces to the territory of another state to carry out [00:21:40] attack. In Mecca, three leaders signed a promise, attack [00:21:44] on one is attack on all, Turkia, Saudi [00:21:48] Arabia, Pakistan. two months on that promise is [00:21:51] under fire, hoothy missiles and drones keep hitting Saudi airports and [00:21:55] oil sites. meeting in Riad, the Mecca Alliance agreed to send [00:21:59] forces to the kingdom and quickly, the committee decided [00:22:03] to move immediately to the practical implementation the collective defense [00:22:07] commitments and to take the necessary measures to provide the agreed military [00:22:10] forces and capabilities and ensure their rapid deployment in the [00:22:14] kingdom. In accordance with the approved arrangements and the national legislation the [00:22:18] parties, thereby enhancing ready. military integration and the [00:22:21] collective capacity to confront and counter threats. President Erdogan has [00:22:25] spelled out what that support could look like. Such [00:22:29] support could take the form of intelligence, logistical or ammunition assistance. [00:22:33] More advanced military support could also be considered depending on the scale the [00:22:37] threat. Ankara case the details to itself and reports are [00:22:41] filling the silence, special forces, pilots and aircraft, [00:22:44] helping defend Riyad and the Holy Cities. An American official [00:22:48] says the help includes Turkish drone. operators, none of it is on the [00:22:51] record. Monday's statement does set one condition: forces [00:22:55] deploy in accordance with the national legislation of each country. In [00:22:59] Turkia, that means parliament, and parliament hasn't even [00:23:03] ratified the pact. As for the Mecca agreement, the [00:23:07] process here has in fact matured in terms the work done by the [00:23:10] ministry, but of course for the agreement to take effect, it will come to [00:23:14] parliament, and since this work has matured, [00:23:16] it will be sent to parliament within a few days. [00:23:20] ambitions reach beyond the red sea. David Bachele, who leads the [00:23:23] nationalist MHP, the ruling party's partner in parliament, [00:23:27] says the pact will elevate the country to the center of global [00:23:31] geopolitics. This is an exceptionally sound and important [00:23:35] agreement. It's tendency towards expansion is also of immense [00:23:38] strategic value. If these efforts are carried out under Turkey's [00:23:41] leadership, this will bring us to the center, making us much more reputable [00:23:45] in the world. So the next vote in Ankara is a [00:23:49] treaty. not on troops sending soldiers would take second decision of [00:23:53] its own. the arithmetic favors the government, the ruling [00:23:56] alliance, the justice and development party and the nationalist movement [00:24:00] party holds 326 of parliament's 600 [00:24:04] seats. the largest opposition party wants no part in it, and [00:24:08] its leader says signing defense pack with a country at [00:24:12] war makes turke a party to that conflict. [00:24:15] international agreements will have to be approved in this parliament if there are soldiers and [00:24:21] involved, we do [00:24:21] not accept being part of Trump's Middle East order, we do not accept the adventurism of [00:24:25] Trump, which will send soldiers to the deserts of Yemen for 100 [00:24:28] years. frames its role as defending Saudi [00:24:32] Arabia. [00:24:39] The Saudis want to involve regional powers, not only from the Arab [00:24:43] arena, but even within the Islamic world, they aim to bring in the [00:24:47] turks and entangle them to involve the... as [00:24:50] well, seeking their help day and night, calling out for them to assist [00:24:54] them, to fight alongside them, to share in the sin and aggression against [00:24:58] our dear people. a senior official, [00:25:01] says the group doesn't expect turkish or pakistani troops [00:25:05] inside yemen, but even indirect help he warns [00:25:09] counts as joining the war, and last month he warned [00:25:12] Ankara and Islamabad would meet an iron [00:25:16] fist. Yasan, RT in Istanbul. [00:25:21] "and a surge in IDF strikes on Lebanon, the country's prime [00:25:25] minister has acknowledged critical budget shortfall, despite Hezballah [00:25:29] offering support, financial recovery remains a distant [00:25:32] prospect with Washington trying additionally [00:25:36] help to the disarmment the militant group and artist Steve Sevini [00:25:40] reports. Well we're in Zult Gabe, one the [00:25:44] so-called pilot zones sitting right on the edge of Israel's yellow line, the [00:25:48] zone of occupation. hovers overhead watching us omminously [00:25:52] and just moments ago there was an air strike as fighter jets raw overhead [00:25:55] watching us, Israeli attacks are now intensifying across southern [00:25:59] Lebanon, they're increasingly striking areas beyond shifting [00:26:03] boundaries of its so-called yellow zone, we have been [00:26:06] displaced twice, first in 2024 and again in [00:26:10] 2026. this time the situation was truly tragic, [00:26:13] most the village was destroyed, there is no sign of life. [00:26:17] people were given ready-made housing units to live in, but they are completely [00:26:21] bare. there is nothing inside, even securing water is difficult, and there [00:26:25] it is absolutely no electricity. most people sleep by [00:26:29] candle light. yeah, due to the [00:26:33] constant presence of aircraft and ongoing strikes. We are always [00:26:36] anxious. There's nothing here. If I need a water pitcher, I can't find [00:26:40] one. I can't even make cup of tea or coffee. There's water, no [00:26:44] refrigerator, no bed, no washing machine. There is absolutely [00:26:47] nothing. [00:26:48] It is extremely difficult. God help the army. It cannot even [00:26:52] protect itself. Let alone get the necessary weaponry. How then [00:26:56] could it possibly protects civilians? Had there been a strong state a [00:27:00] well-armed military, Israel would never have. to invade at [00:27:03] least 35 artillery shells hit Mansori. This is village on [00:27:07] the end of that zone where the Israeli forces have progressively expanded [00:27:11] their area of control. Mansori was then hit again on with air [00:27:15] strikes, artillery and major detonations and Israely fire is also [00:27:18] reaching well beyond that so-called yellow zone near Maifordun three [00:27:22] Israeli artillery shells landed very close to journalists from Aljade and Navatier [00:27:26] News uh fortunately there were no injuries in that particular attack but [00:27:30] once again it highlights the danger to reporting on Israeli [00:27:33] operations as journalists are routinely targeted. Israeli forces [00:27:37] attacked 15 southern towns with demolitions reported in six them. [00:27:41] and in Hoola, Israeli troops planted explosives inside the Jabellammo [00:27:45] public school and then detonated it. just one of many schools destroyed in recent [00:27:49] weeks. now all of this came immediately after prime minister now of salam traveled [00:27:53] to nearby Nabatier promising reconstruction. his visit however [00:27:57] didn't go smoothly. he was confronted by residents demanding to know when they [00:28:01] could return home. many angry at what they see is government [00:28:04] action, locals use that relative calm around the visit to [00:28:08] enter and alfawa and expect and inspect the home sorry for [00:28:12] the first time in months, but even as salam spoke, the Israeli attacks were [00:28:16] hitting the surrounding area. i am not here to sell you [00:28:19] illusions nor to promise what i cannot deliver. we still need [00:28:23] significant funding, and it's the cost here that's key. salam previously [00:28:27] identified the funding needed at $27 billion US dollars a [00:28:31] sum, he says lebanese st. simply doesn't have. Now, following his visit, [00:28:35] Hesbollah Secretary General Naim Kassam said that the organization would [00:28:38] contribute to shelter and reconstruction for the people displaced from the [00:28:42] south. Hez MP, Hassan Fadlal said on Saturday that this [00:28:45] pledge would unsettle the United States with Washington insisting that [00:28:49] AID is tied to disarmament. We will not discuss the final [00:28:53] figures relating to Aid for our people in the housing program as this would come [00:28:57] as a shock to the Americans. Well, exactly how much money Hesbollah can [00:29:01] provide and when remains. and clear, but the immediate problem isn't simply [00:29:05] who pays for reconstruction, it's the expansion the Israeli [00:29:08] occupation. uniform has documented Israeli forces operating from [00:29:12] nearly 30 positions in southern Lebanon, including eight 45 [00:29:15] bases. Israeli forces have already pushed beyond their own yellow line in [00:29:19] some areas while Israely officials say they want to retain a security [00:29:23] zone extending as much as 10 kilometers inside Lebanon. [00:29:27] this comes as Salam continues to talk, at least on the surface about [00:29:31] Israeli withdrawal. seemingly in contradiction with the reality on the [00:29:35] ground. Your priorities will remain our [00:29:38] priorities, stopping the Israely attacks, Israel's complete [00:29:42] withdrawal from our territory, and the safe and dignified return of [00:29:46] people to their homes. Now, the eightth round of talks between Lebanon and [00:29:50] Israel is planned for later this month with some saying they will take place in [00:29:53] Florida, but months of negotiations had so far produced little [00:29:57] concrete change for the people the south. Israel remains inside [00:30:00] Lebanon and is expanding its present. while escalating its attacks is [00:30:04] noted by uniful observers, hundreds have been killed since the latest [00:30:07] supposed ceasefire. cease fire is something which Israel has never really [00:30:11] added to. talks about reconstruction seem unrealistic while [00:30:15] Israeli destruction continues. so the key question now is whether [00:30:19] the negotiations can produce something tangible, that is an [00:30:23] end to the attacks and an Israeli withdrawal. all the evidence on the [00:30:27] ground suggest that in reality this is something of distant hope.
