[01:14:24] one of the reasons why FETÖ especially targeted him was
[01:14:27] the duty he undertook in 2010, his duty in Central Asia.
[01:14:31] He died without being able to defend himself, because
[01:14:34] this was why we said days before the hearing we mentioned.
[01:14:38] It was stated that he would speak there, he died
[01:14:41] in prison before his first hearing. His defense,
[01:14:45] which he prepared after his suspicious death, also emerged.
[01:14:49] He had taken notes, as a matter of fact, in the text, he stated
[01:14:53] that he had no connection with the Kozinoğlu 3 file,
[01:14:56] and that he was the target of the Fethullahist Terrorist
[01:15:00] Organization. Now, so much time has passed, 15 years
[01:15:04] have passed since his death. Why was an investigation
[01:15:08] launched? As you know, the Department for Investigation of Unsolved
[01:15:11] Crimes of the Ministry of Justice was established. It's not
[01:15:14] only the Kozinoğlu investigation, many files that have not
[01:15:18] yet been clarified are being handled by that department,
[01:15:22] and they are being solved one by one. The Kozinoğlu
[01:15:25] file was reopened for this reason, it was determined
[01:15:29] that it was not investigated sufficiently. A forensic
[01:15:33] medical report was requested within the scope of this file
[01:15:36] to determine the exact cause of death. Well, let's continue,
[01:15:39] why is FETÖ suspected, that is, why do the arrows
[01:15:42] point to FETÖ in this file? Because an emergency alarm
[01:15:45] came from Kozinoğlu's cell, meaning something went wrong,
[01:15:49] Kozinoğlu pressed that emergency button, and a guard
[01:15:52] raised the volume of the radio at that moment so that others
[01:15:55] would not be aware of this sound, so that other prison
[01:15:59] officers in the environment would not be aware, and the
[01:16:02] guard who delayed this intervention for 15 minutes is a FETÖ
[01:16:05] fugitive sought with a red bulletin, dear viewers.

[01:16:12] who infiltrated MIT reported Kozinoğlu to the FETÖ leader,

[01:16:22] a FETÖ member, to the FETÖ leader. This was frequently reflected

[01:16:32] becoming the MIT Undersecretary was a disaster for FETÖ and

[02:15:27] The prime minister and ministers elected by the people
[02:15:31] were taken captive. Justice
[02:15:33] was turned into a tool of the coup plotters'
[02:15:36] revenge system. Our late Minister of Interior
[02:15:40] İsmail Namık Gedik passed away in the very first
[02:15:44] days of the coup. The coup plotters
[02:15:46] announced his death
[02:15:49] as a supposed suicide. However, we do not accept this narrative
[02:15:52] created under the dark conditions of the coup.
[02:15:55] We commemorate İsmail Namık Gedik
[02:15:58] with mercy as a victim
[02:16:01] and martyr of the May 27 oppression. Subsequently, a trial process
[02:16:05] that never found a response in the conscience of our nation
[02:16:09] was also initiated in Yassıada.
[02:16:12] Fatin Rüştü Zorlu and Hasan Polatkan
[02:16:15] walked to immortality on September 16, 1961. Adnan Menderes
[02:16:19] walked to immortality on September 17, 1961.
[02:16:22] They were three statesmen sent to the gallows.
[02:16:25] However, in reality,
[02:16:27] the real reckoning was with the will of the nation.
[02:16:31] The echoing of religion with its renewed
[02:16:34] original freedom in our skies,
[02:16:37] and the Anatolian people having a say in state governance,
[02:16:41] were the strongest signs of this will's rise.
[02:16:45] They thought that if they eliminated
[02:16:48] Menderes, Zorlu, Polatkan,
[02:16:51] and Gedik,
[02:16:55] this will would also disappear. However,
[02:16:59] you cannot hang the love that has settled
[02:17:02] in the heart of this noble nation. You cannot execute
[02:17:04] the memory of this nation.
[02:17:08] The deep pain in the poem "Zeybeğim"
[02:17:11] written by the master Necip Fazıl after the martyrdom of the late Menderes
[02:17:15] continues to shake our hearts
[02:17:18] even after decades. "They shot my Zeybek
[02:17:21] with a few rascals. They filled his grave with stones,
[02:17:25] thinking he might rise again." "My Zeybek, my Zeybek,
[02:17:28] what happened to you? Say 'Allah' and
[02:17:32] rise up!" Yes, this nation stood up with the late Necmettin
[02:17:35] Erbakan, the late Turgut Özal,
[02:17:38] and the leader of the Turkish Century, our esteemed President Recep Tayyip
[02:17:41] Erdoğan. Menderes, Polatkan,
[02:17:45] Zorlu, and Gedik, however, continued to be commemorated
[02:17:49] with greater mercy and gratitude in the hearts of our nation

[02:17:56] Turkey's recent history should also be read as our nation's struggle

[02:18:03] from May 27 to March 12,
[02:18:06] from September 12 to February 28,

[02:18:33] our nation once again heroically
[02:18:36] shouted Menderes's "Enough, the people's

[02:18:45] that this noble nation will never forget
[02:18:49] the people's men who emerged from its bosom
[02:18:52] and paid a price for the nation,
[02:18:56] just as it will never forget the tutelage mindset
[02:18:59] and the coup-plotting tyrants who waged war
[02:19:01] against the nation's values, sacred values,

[02:31:00] also attended Democrat Party rallies
[02:31:04] and met Adnan Menderes. Of course,
[02:31:07] his successful politics
[02:31:11] attracted the attention of Adnan Menderes,
[02:31:14] and in the 1950 elections, he became a candidate from Aydın
[02:31:18] and was elected as a deputy.
[02:31:21] Namık Gedik was a politician
[02:31:25] who stood out with his personality
[02:31:28] of not shying away from responsibility and being outspoken.

[02:31:35] Adnan Menderes's attention, and
[02:31:38] after being re-elected as a deputy
[02:31:41] in the 1954 elections, he entered the cabinet
[02:31:45] and especially came to the forefront
[02:31:49] as the Minister of Interior of the cabinet.
[02:31:52] He gave his first important test in the 6-7 September events.
[02:31:55] He took care to ensure that the investigation
[02:31:59] could be carried out smoothly and that the events
[02:32:02] did not escalate. Of course,
[02:32:05] he resigned from the ministry three days later,
[02:32:09] unable to withstand the pressures of the conjuncture
[02:32:12] at the time. Let's state
[02:32:15] here that Namık Gedik had an effective oratorical
[02:32:18] and prominent political identity. In 1956,
[02:32:21] by Adnan Menderes's decision, he was appointed
[02:32:25] as the group deputy chairman, and of course,
[02:32:27] after this duty, he returned to the Ministry
[02:32:30] of Interior on December 22.
[02:32:34] He continued his duty until the May 27 Coup.
[02:32:38] So what happened after the May 27 coup?
[02:32:41] Namık Gedik stands out as one of the first names
[02:32:45] arrested by the coup plotters of the period,
[02:32:48] and especially after being taken into custody, he was subjected
[02:32:52] to severe insults and torture
[02:32:56] at the War Academy, and it was also claimed
[02:32:59] that he was thrown from the window
[02:33:03] of the room he was in.
[02:33:06] Why do we say claimed? Because an autopsy
[02:33:10] was not performed after his death. Of course,
[02:33:13] although the coup plotters said he committed suicide,
[02:33:17] this fog of mystery always remained over this event.
[02:33:21] Here, Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi announced that
[02:33:25] as an act of restoring honor, after İsmail Namık Gedik,
[02:33:28] the Minister of Interior of the period, is declared a martyr,
