[00:04:55] Bank has taken a good decision regarding this, that is,
[00:04:59] it increased the weekly repo rate by more than three times,
[00:05:03] to 300 billion TL. This indicates

[00:05:09] the same time, this contagion has been prevented. Actually,
[00:05:12] regarding liquidity, of course, on the other hand, the Central Bank

[00:05:23] when you look at it. The real expectation of the public
[00:05:26] here is that these funds have been liquidated,
[00:05:30] as you know. This morning, the Capital Markets Board also

[00:28:07] suicide. However, we do not accept
[00:28:10] this narrative created under
[00:28:13] the dark conditions of the coup. We commemorate
[00:28:16] İsmail Namık Gedik with mercy as the victim
[00:28:19] and martyr of the May 27 oppression.

[00:28:26] with our esteemed nation. With the signature
[00:28:29] of our President yesterday, it has been decided
[00:28:33] that the body of our deceased Interior Minister İsmail Namık Gedik
[00:28:36] will be transferred and buried in the area
[00:28:39] where the Adnan Menderes Monument Mausoleum is located.
[00:28:42] It has been decided
[00:28:43] to bury him.
[00:28:48] The body of former Interior Minister Namık Gedik will be moved
[00:28:51] from the Cebeci Asri Cemetery to the monument tomb in Istanbul
[00:28:55] by presidential decree. During the May 27 coup,
[00:28:58] Namık Gedik, who was the Minister of Interior, was subjected to violence
[00:29:02] and assault while in custody. He lost his life within two days
[00:29:05] in Harbiye. In his 49 years of life, he was a doctor
[00:29:09] and a poet, in addition to being a minister. Despite 66 years
[00:29:12] having passed, the veil of secrecy surrounding his death has not been lifted.
[00:29:29] His mother was Evanım, and his father was a postmaster.
[00:29:32] He was born in the ancient city of Istanbul in 1911.
[00:29:36] He lost his younger sister to tuberculosis. He decided to become a doctor.
[00:29:40] He achieved this goal. İsmail Namık Gedik
[00:29:43] was the 16th Minister of Interior
[00:29:45] of the Republic of Turkey.
[00:29:50] When he graduated from Kabataş Boys' High School, the Republic was 7
[00:29:54] years old. He had a strong pen. He also wrote poetry. His
[00:29:58] works were published in Serveti Finun
[00:30:00] Mecmuası. He used the pseudonym "Çift" (Couple). While writing,
[00:30:04] he was studying at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. Gedik
[00:30:07] graduated in 1936. A year later, he married Melaat Hanım.
[00:30:11] His wife was one of Turkey's first female
[00:30:13] judges.
[00:30:20] Namık's first assignment was in the Çine district of Aydın.
[00:30:24] At the age of 25, he was a government doctor. He served here for 4 years.
[00:30:27] He gained the love of the people. So much so that many children
[00:30:30] born in Aydın
[00:30:32] were named after him.
[00:30:36] He completed his internal medicine specialization at Haydarpaşa
[00:30:40] Numune Hospital. He was appointed to Muğla Memleket Hospital.
[00:30:43] First, he was an internal medicine representative, then chief physician.
[00:30:46] In 1949, he returned to Haydarpaşa. This time
[00:30:50] he was a tuberculosis clinic specialist. He also became interested in politics
[00:30:53] during this period. His wife's encouragement played an important
[00:30:56] role. He attended the rallies of the Democrat Party.
[00:31:00] He met Adnan Menderes. In the May 14, 1950 elections.
[00:31:15] did not refrain from it. He was appointed party inspector for the Aegean region.
[00:31:18] He held this position for 4 years. He was re-elected
[00:31:21] in the 1954 elections. His disciplined work did not escape
[00:31:25] the Prime Minister's attention. So much so that he was in the cabinet of the 3rd
[00:31:28] Menderes government. İsmail Namık Gedik was now
[00:31:31] the Minister of Interior.
[00:31:32] He gave
[00:31:35] his most critical test in the September
[00:31:38] 6-7 incidents. He aimed for the investigation to be carried out smoothly.
[00:31:42] Three days later, he resigned from the ministry. Gedik
[00:31:45] was outspoken within the party. His impressive rhetoric
[00:31:49] helped him achieve results. These qualities
[00:31:52] led him to the position of group deputy chairman
[00:31:55] on November 15, 1956. On December 22 of the same year,
[00:31:59] he became the Minister of Interior again. Namık Gedik continued this duty until the May 27
[00:32:02] coup.
[00:32:08] On the morning of May 27, he was taken from his house on Sümer Street.
[00:32:11] He was brought to the War Academy in Harbiye. He was subjected
[00:32:14] to severe insults. He was subjected to violence and assault. He died
[00:32:18] within two days.
[00:32:20] It was claimed that he jumped from the window of his room.
[00:32:24] Was Namık Gedik thrown or did he jump from the window?
[00:32:28] 66 years have passed, and this question has not been answered.
[00:32:30] Because no autopsy was performed when he died, and his body
[00:32:34] was not delivered to his family. The coup plotters quietly
[00:32:37] buried him in the Cebeci Asri Cemetery. For years, not even a tombstone was allowed.

[00:32:47] investigation into the suspicious death of former MİT officer Kaşif
[00:32:50] Kozinoğlu in prison is deepening. The prosecutor
[00:32:53] of Silivri during that period, the prison prosecutor, and Kozinoğlu's cellmate
[00:32:57] were detained. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek said
[00:33:01] that they are determined not to leave any suspicious death
[00:33:04] in the dark,

[00:33:27] of non-prosecution for Kozinoğlu's file, and the then prison
[00:33:30] prosecutor Necip Doğan, who was expelled from FETÖ,

[00:33:38] was determined that the other cellmate, retired colonel Hasan
[00:33:42] Atilla Uğur, for whom a detention warrant was issued, was abroad.

[00:33:49] the three suspects detained by gendarmerie teams in Ankara and Istanbul
[00:33:53] are expected to be sent to the courthouse.
