[00:00:05] in [00:00:09] of Donald Trump denies that the US military [00:00:13] is running low on munitions and claims the war with Iran [00:00:17] will [00:00:17] of end in soon. Hello and welcome to TRT World. We're live from [00:00:21] London. I'm Maria Ramos also [00:00:23] of ahead on this [00:00:23] program. [00:00:29] And At least 58 government troops are reported to have been killed [00:00:33] in hoothy attacks on military [00:00:36] of camps. Israeli forces launch wave of air strikes on southern Lebanon [00:00:40] despite a fresh round of peace talks in Rome and [00:00:43] Ukraine hits two oil refineries in multiple strikes [00:00:47] of inside Russia. Zelenski says the aim is limiting Moscow's [00:00:51] oil revenues to finance the [00:00:53] war. [00:01:06] Hello, our top story: US president Donald Trump has denied [00:01:10] claims that [00:01:11] of US munitions are running low, insisting the country has an [00:01:15] of unlimited supply. His comments came as he signed [00:01:19] of executive orders at the White House, where he also said he expects the war with [00:01:23] Iran [00:01:23] of to end soon. I think it's going to end pretty [00:01:27] soon, I don't think they can go... much longer, we [00:01:31] of have an unlimited supply and uh, [00:01:34] so we're in great shape, but uh, with that [00:01:37] being said, we always want more, we have to have more, we have other things maybe come [00:01:41] up, you maybe come up and maybe don't come up, hopefully nothing else does come [00:01:45] up, well Craig Boswell joins us now live from [00:01:49] Washington DC, what do you make of President Trump's latest [00:01:52] comments? [00:01:58] right, well the president being very general in those statements, saying we have some [00:02:02] types, some [00:02:03] of them are very strong, then we have some that are not so [00:02:06] of strong, of but we have unlimited uh limited munitions in [00:02:10] some areas, but look, we know through various studies, through [00:02:13] various think tanks that the US is running low on precision [00:02:17] guided missiles, the patriot missile systems, those types [00:02:21] of of munitions that have been used in this war with Iran [00:02:24] that have also been used [00:02:26] a in Ukraine, and we know that Donald Trump [00:02:28] of has had these um [00:02:30] of weapons manufacturers to the White House to try and force them and [00:02:34] try to uh motivate them to make these weapons faster, but the [00:02:38] problem is they cost lot of money, which is why they've gone to [00:02:41] Congress just down the road here on Pennsylvania Avenue and asked for a [00:02:45] 1.5 trillion dollar budget, but we also know that [00:02:48] in addition to the money that these take time uh patriot missiles [00:02:52] a take uh months if not years to manufacture and they cost about [00:02:56] four and a half [00:02:56] of million dollar each and there are some st studies that [00:03:00] of 80% [00:03:01] of these precision guided munitions have been used. Donald Trump [00:03:04] uh has pushed back on that. You can almost at times put that in this [00:03:08] category [00:03:11] of of the in protest a little bit too much when someone [00:03:13] of is trying to push back on something. It can be a little bit obvious. Maybe the [00:03:17] president, he should know, [00:03:19] of maybe the president knows things that we don't. We hope that is indeed the [00:03:22] case, but it does leave the open question of what is the [00:03:26] amount, how much is there? How short is? is [00:03:30] the United States and which types of munitions in particular [00:03:33] is the shortage around, and it looks like through studies, it [00:03:37] is these precision guided munitions, that is the [00:03:41] that is the [00:03:43] in [00:03:43] a of shortfall uh, something that actually Donald Trump has said before, he has told uh Ukraine, [00:03:47] look, we need these missiles for ourselves, we're essentially [00:03:50] beginning to run low because we're providing them for you, but Donald Trump pushing [00:03:54] of back actively uh on this uh low munitions [00:03:58] narrative, back to you. "and [00:04:01] Craig, we're seeing um and we heard as well Donald Trump [00:04:05] saying that he thinks the war with Iran will end soon, [00:04:09] and we've seen Iran and Oman holding talks this week, [00:04:13] where is the US voice in [00:04:15] this? [00:04:19] of of Right, well he was asked uh as in this little [00:04:23] uh, in this Oval Office Q&A with reporters, the question was, is there a deal on the [00:04:27] straight of Homus, and his answer was..." "i don't want to say it [00:04:31] has been. now what does that mean? does that mean he [00:04:35] doesn't know? does that mean he knows but doesn't want to say, or does that mean he [00:04:39] doesn't know and doesn't want to say he doesn't know? this is very general [00:04:42] statement by [00:04:43] the by the president on the deal, maybe they're looking at [00:04:47] uh this uh potential deal between Iran and [00:04:50] of Oman and trying to wait for the details, because we [00:04:53] a also know that the president must not allow Aron [00:04:57] to charge a fee or to levy fees to get through the..." straight because that [00:05:01] would be seen as a loss for this president, we know the president needs a [00:05:04] win uh here and the straight of homose is where he has to get that win [00:05:08] now uh and he went to say in that in that little bit of statement to that [00:05:12] question: uh, he says, we control the straight, Iran would beg to [00:05:15] differ on that, and then he said Iran could drop a mind, they could make things [00:05:19] difficult, uh, but then he went to say that he's involved in the [00:05:22] negotiations, so again, the Trump administration and Donald [00:05:26] Trump himself saying that he's involved in negotiations, but also [00:05:30] still a little bit general, is that the negotiations on the straight [00:05:33] of from moves, indirectly through Iran and Oman, through [00:05:36] intermediaries, or is the US in back channels talking to [00:05:39] Iran, uh, it remains to be seen, but of course we're waiting on that [00:05:43] deal uh between Iran and Iman to be officially finalized [00:05:47] and announced in what those terms may be, then we're going to get the reaction uh from [00:05:51] the White House, but right now it is still the stance of this white [00:05:54] house that the straight off moves will be open, that there will be deal, [00:05:58] and they believe that in fact uh the negotiations are [00:06:02] going well, according to the US president, back to [00:06:05] you. Thank you so much, Craig Buzzel, live that from [00:06:09] Washington DC. Well, Iran says a deal with, command to [00:06:13] reopen the straight of hormos is now in its final stages, after confirming the [00:06:16] two sides have agreed a specific shipping route. Tehran [00:06:20] says that despite the agreement, the resumption of unrestricted [00:06:24] shipping remains contingent on the US lifting its naval [00:06:28] blockade of Iranian ports. Oman, which shares control [00:06:31] the straight of Honemores and acts as mediator between Tehran and [00:06:35] Washington has yet to publicly confirm the [00:06:38] deal. Which was Reza Hatami has more on the Horimus. [00:06:42] proposal from the Iranian capital, the Iranian [00:06:46] foreign ministry spokesperson ismail bai said that the two [00:06:50] sides are very close to deal and [00:06:53] another high ranking official deputy foreign minister [00:06:57] said that Tehron and Muscat are on the verge of [00:07:01] signing deal on the shipping routes in the straight of [00:07:04] Formus, however today on Thursday it's been silent [00:07:08] and we are still waiting for more detail. [00:07:12] possibly for a joint announcement by [00:07:16] Tehran and Moscat about that much anticipated agreement [00:07:20] about the shipping roots in the straight of [00:07:24] hormos, but what reports suggest is that there would be two roots, [00:07:27] inbound route and an outbound corridor, [00:07:31] the inbound one will be in the north the straight of hormones much closer to [00:07:35] Iranian territorial waters totally controlled by [00:07:39] Iran and the southern lane will be [00:07:43] uh close to Omani territorial waters and half of it will [00:07:47] be controlled by Tehran, so basically this would give Iran [00:07:51] control over the entire straight of armus, and these [00:07:55] two roots are would be temporary, they would be valid [00:07:59] for about two to four months and after that, in the [00:08:02] meantime, Iran and Oman would clear the [00:08:06] minds in the straight and after that, after two to four [00:08:10] months a permanent route in the... center the straight of [00:08:13] formus will be designated a so-called median [00:08:16] lane, again that permanent route would [00:08:20] also be supervised by Iran and no vessel [00:08:24] can go in or come out the straight without the supervision [00:08:28] of Iran. what would [00:08:32] this proposed Iran orman framework mean for ships passing through the [00:08:36] straight ofm? let's take a look at the key points, well under the [00:08:40] proposal vessels entering the straight of hormos. be managed by Iran [00:08:43] using the northern shipping laying close to Iran's coastline [00:08:47] and that way Tehran will gain greater control over ships entering [00:08:51] the Gulf and outbound traffic would be handled jointly by [00:08:55] Iran and Oman with ships exiting through the southern shipping [00:08:59] lane near Oman's coast while Tehran would have the ability to intervene [00:09:03] if necessary and Iran's phas news [00:09:06] agency is reporting that the Iranian parliament is discussing [00:09:10] introducing penalties in including fines of up to [00:09:14] 20% of cargo value for violations and [00:09:18] considering restrictions on US Israeli and other [00:09:22] hostile vessels. all military sources in [00:09:25] Yemen have said that Hufis are have killed at least [00:09:29] 58 government troops in missile and drone attacks [00:09:33] on military camps in hadramount and Marib. The Houthies say this [00:09:37] attack is in response to an alleged military buildup back by neighboring [00:09:41] Saudi Arabia and Yemen's internationally recognized government [00:09:44] says it will respond to the attack fighting [00:09:48] between the the hoofies and the Saudi aligned [00:09:51] government escalated over the past month. This is the deadliest [00:09:55] fighting in Yemen since 2022. [00:09:59] Mohammed Alatab has the latest from the Yemini Capital [00:10:02] Sanner. This latest [00:10:05] operations that have that has been [00:10:09] revealed by the his military spokes person. says that they have [00:10:13] targeted this these positions in um in [00:10:16] ruway and also in in areas in hadramot and [00:10:20] marip uh he says that they have targeted these areas as [00:10:23] there are ' some military [00:10:26] uh built up there, they says that they have waged the preemptive [00:10:30] strikes and they have he has also warned the [00:10:33] yemenis there not to join the military camps [00:10:37] in these areas while the senior official [00:10:41] the yemani government says that the the group [00:10:45] is under a mounting pressure that's that's why and [00:10:49] they have carried out these operations [00:10:53] as he mentioned or describe. at his uh [00:10:57] at his account at x website, he [00:11:00] also mentioned that the there is all the the only way is to [00:11:04] end what he described as the militaus co against the [00:11:07] international recognized government while the the [00:11:11] military spokes person the hutis he has made it clear that they will continue [00:11:15] their what they have already uh declared the [00:11:19] the operations the sage for sage they want [00:11:22] to to wais more pressure on Saudi Arabia we are talking about nearly eight [00:11:26] ships that have been targeted by the uh the houties known [00:11:30] as the ansar allah they have also been able [00:11:33] to to turn back nearly [00:11:36] 29 vessels so we are talking about since [00:11:40] the beginning the their blockade they have been able [00:11:43] to attack vessels near the Gulf of Aiden [00:11:47] and also off the coast the Saudi uh [00:11:51] Saudi seaport of Yambah well again. [00:11:55] The backdrop of height intentions in the Gulf, Pakistan's prime minister [00:11:58] Shahbas Sharif is in Riad for an official visit. Visit follows [00:12:02] an invitation from the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed [00:12:06] bin Salman. Sharif was welcomed at the Jedda Airport [00:12:10] by the Mecca region deputy governor and he's expected [00:12:14] to hold a number of meetings with Saudi officials and will be [00:12:17] joined by the Turkish President Recep on [00:12:21] Friday. Although taking place against [00:12:25] backdrop of heightened tensions in the Gulf, the visit [00:12:29] will carry immense significance beyond the [00:12:32] immediate crisis and short term [00:12:35] considerations. It will further strengthen bilateral relations, [00:12:39] deepen strategic cooperation. Well, [00:12:43] bomb has exploded a minibus just outside the Syrian capital Damascus with [00:12:47] state media reporting at least two deaths and 13 injuries. It happened [00:12:50] in the suburb of Jaramana around seven kilometers south. [00:12:55] east the city center, witnesses are reporting [00:12:58] ambulances heading to the scene and a main road has [00:13:02] been closed to traffic, nobody has yet claimed [00:13:06] responsibility, and we'll bring you more details as [00:13:09] we go. well three days of [00:13:13] peace talks between the US, Israel and Lebanon in Rome have just [00:13:17] come to close, discussions reportedly focused on pilot zones for [00:13:20] Israeli withdrawals in southern Lebanon, but the talks were overshadowed. [00:13:25] by continued Israeli attacks in the region which threatened to derail [00:13:29] negotiations entirely. Prianca Navani reports from [00:13:32] Beirut. On the [00:13:36] eve the last day of talks in Rome, this was the scene in southern Lebanon, the [00:13:40] town of Burja Shimali was hit by massive Israeli strikes, injuring [00:13:44] over dozen Lebaneses. Thursday morning, news stands were peppered [00:13:48] with both headlines, talks in Rome meant to bring peace, and the [00:13:51] strikes on southern Lebanon bringing anything but many. [00:14:03] the negotiations that are happening are waste of time, [00:14:07] we are facing sionist terrorist enemy, what the [00:14:10] Israel are doing in the south is a policy of [00:14:13] destruction. others said strikes or no [00:14:17] strikes, they don't believe anything can come the [00:14:19] talks. since the start, Israel [00:14:23] never committed to any agreement. [00:14:25] in the last few [00:14:29] summit constituted the seventh round of Israeli [00:14:33] The Lebanese three-day talks months, direct talks that are ordinarily unheard of, well progress has been made in [00:14:37] the form of security framework that called for occupying Israeli troops to [00:14:41] slowly be replaced by the Lebanese army, the progress these pilot [00:14:45] zones on the ground has been slow, and some argue Lebanon [00:14:49] is giving more than it's getting. Unfortunately, until [00:14:52] now did not gain any uh... good point regarding what [00:14:56] regarding the regarding talks in in Rome or with the Israelies, [00:15:00] all what we could achieve was the [00:15:03] seasfire, yeah, it's not a full seas [00:15:06] fire, the Israelies are bombing every day in the south and [00:15:10] are uh invading more more regions, they are not [00:15:14] retreating from any the occupied regions and many [00:15:17] agree the uptaken strikes during the talks was no [00:15:20] coincidence, the elephant in the room is the issue of hezbollah's [00:15:24] weapon. both the Lebanese and Israeli governments have said that they [00:15:28] want the group disarmed, but Hazbolah is not party to these talks [00:15:32] and the Lebanese government has yet to put forth any sort of [00:15:35] substantitive plan, in part because... Lebanese are divided on the [00:15:39] issue, but this standoff leads many to believe that the talks in [00:15:43] Rome will do little to affect their reality on the ground. [00:15:47] Priyanka Navani, TRT World in [00:15:49] Beirot. [00:15:55] But at least 48 Palestinians have been injured in two days of Israeli [00:15:59] raids in the occupied West bank, that's according to the Palestinian red [00:16:02] cresent. Israeli troops have made more than 60 arrests in the Kalandia [00:16:06] refugee camp. home to 16 thousand people [00:16:10] and the nearby town of Kafar Akab. The red cresent [00:16:13] says Palestinians have been severely beaten and homes and [00:16:17] shops demolished. Wazna Tahan has more on the day's [00:16:21] events from outside the camp in occupied [00:16:24] Jerusalem. It's been 40, more than [00:16:27] 41 hours since Israel began its large scale military [00:16:31] assault on the qalandia refugee camp. And now we're a [00:16:35] bit further from the entrance to the camp. than we were previously reporting [00:16:39] earlier in the day uh because Israely forces prevented [00:16:42] journalists from covering, they removed them from the entire area and [00:16:46] blockaded it off and they fired directly at us stun [00:16:50] grenades. the the assault is still ongoing with [00:16:54] hundreds of soldiers as well as special forces, police and [00:16:57] paramilitary uh border police uh [00:17:01] operating inside the camp, arresting palestinians, mass [00:17:05] raiding homes and destroying contents these homes, [00:17:09] vandalizing them, as we often see in the occupied west bank a [00:17:13] daily basis. now there are upwards of 16,000 [00:17:16] people inside this camp that are under siege for [00:17:20] the second day, there is no one allowed in or out with the [00:17:24] with the um entrances into the camp closed off [00:17:28] and there is a curfew, no one is allowed in the streets even to get anything [00:17:32] eat or um or so the Israeli military has also [00:17:36] prevented and instructed the work of ambulances trying [00:17:39] to evacuate those 16 people who were injured, the [00:17:43] majority them with severe physical assault, including [00:17:46] multiple men in their early to late 50s, so you're talking [00:17:50] about elderly people being beaten up, and what's happening is that the Israeli [00:17:54] military breaks down people's home, front doors, [00:17:58] barges in or storms the house with 10 to 15 [00:18:01] soldiers, they carry out physical assault against the residents, they carry [00:18:05] out mass interrogations. [00:18:07] over at least 60 people have been interrogated so [00:18:11] far and arrested according to the Palestinian uh prisoners [00:18:15] society and uh it's very [00:18:18] important to note two things, one this is a main [00:18:21] road, it is very vital artery uh as you [00:18:25] can see there should be cars bumper to bumper but the movement is [00:18:29] very weak uh this road ties between the north [00:18:33] and the center the occupied west bank with Jerusalem and the [00:18:37] south. so the fact that they are blocking the movement here [00:18:40] means that they are affecting tens of thousands of people who move through here every [00:18:44] day for work for health care for other their own [00:18:47] businesses. addition to that, the Israeli military has been [00:18:50] demolishing palestinian businesses, they've [00:18:54] been carrying out demolitions of [00:18:57] palestinian car washes, clothes stores and other [00:19:01] businesses here in around the [00:19:05] kalandia refugee camp and near the colandia. military checkpoint [00:19:09] and the last note is very important to make, there are no, I mean the [00:19:13] Israeli military is talking about this being a military operation, but there [00:19:17] are no armed elements inside these camps that are organized any [00:19:20] way that would put up a front or to resist Israel's military [00:19:24] incursion, well the number of Palestinian [00:19:27] teenagers being held without charge in Israeli [00:19:31] jails has nearly dobled in the space of year, the number rose from [00:19:35] just over 100 in January of... last year to nearly 200 by [00:19:39] this march. the miners are in so-called administrative [00:19:43] detention. it's a policy where Israel imprisons people [00:19:47] indefinitely without trial and without presenting any evidence [00:19:51] against them. well, average of one child per day has [00:19:55] been killed in Gaza since the beginning the ceasefire last [00:19:58] October. that's according to the United Nations Children's agency [00:20:02] UNICEF, who say more than 300 children lost their lives in [00:20:06] the 300 days. the truth was announced as well as [00:20:09] Israeli bombings, Palestinian children face malnutrition and [00:20:13] disease. UNICEF also says 58,000 [00:20:17] children have lost one or both [00:20:19] parents. Well, Ukraine says [00:20:23] it's hit two oil refineries in Russia as it continues to target the [00:20:27] country's energy infrastructure. Russia confirmed refinery in [00:20:31] the Yadoslav region was on fire after a Ukrainian drone strike [00:20:35] and said emergency crews were working to. put out the blaze, the regional [00:20:39] governor said the refinery storage tanks had been struck by falling [00:20:43] drone debri. he described it as the biggest attack so far on [00:20:46] Yaroslav which has been targeted by Ukraine in in the [00:20:50] past, well meanwhile, two people have been [00:20:54] killed and five others wounded in a Ukrainian drone attack on Russia's [00:20:58] Briansk region, it comes after the Russian army said its air defense [00:21:01] system shot down 605 Ukrainian drones [00:21:05] overnight, falling Debry from one the drones hit a logistics [00:21:09] center belonging to Russian e-commerce giant wild [00:21:12] berries, it's the latest attack against the online retailer which keive [00:21:16] accuses of aiding Russia's war effort dasha. [00:21:20] reports: for thousands of small [00:21:24] businesses, online shops are the sensor their entire operation, [00:21:28] from warehousing and logistics to deliveries. maxim papov sells a [00:21:31] wide range of goods through wildburies, which is widely seen as Russia's answer [00:21:35] to Amazon. he says drone attacks have exposed how [00:21:39] vulnerable small businesses can [00:21:41] be when they depend heavily a single logistics network, although he [00:21:44] expects the company to recover. [00:21:48] we are lucky that we st. only a small share of our goods at [00:21:52] marketplace warehouses, we know how to adapt, plus we don't [00:21:56] have heavy credit burden that will help us lot, those who had [00:22:00] 80 to 90% their goods destroyed and bought that [00:22:03] inventory with borrowed money are in very difficult [00:22:06] situation. for many businesses, even a brief disruption can [00:22:10] create serious cash flow problems, with inventory trapped inside [00:22:13] damaged warehouses, sales stop while storage fees, supplier [00:22:17] payments and other operating costs continue. to pile [00:22:20] up small and medium sized [00:22:23] businesses could suffer the most because their entire business [00:22:27] model depends on infantry turnover. many bought [00:22:31] their goods using borrowed money and if they can't maintain the sales [00:22:35] volumes they originally planned, they may struggle to repay [00:22:39] those loans. the impact extends beyond salaries. re-rooted [00:22:43] shipments means thousands of independently operated pickup points are [00:22:47] seen fewer deliveries and lower customer traffic. but there [00:22:50] are now plans to build additional warehouses in neighboring Kazakhstan and Belarus [00:22:54] and strengthen security to make supply chains more [00:22:58] resilient. This could affect the range of products [00:23:01] available on the marketplaces and push of prices for some goods, [00:23:05] but it won't fundamentally changed the platform economy. Online [00:23:09] marketplaces remain Russia's dominant retail sales [00:23:12] channel, and so we're more likely to see [00:23:16] redistribution of sales than a collapse the system. [00:23:20] journalists say Russia's well established trade links with China could help [00:23:23] replace many low cost imported goods, limiting longer term [00:23:27] disruption for consumers. Recent drone strikes [00:23:30] come a [00:23:31] time when companies are already facing high borrowing costs and higher [00:23:34] taxes, so any prolong disruption could add further pressure to one of [00:23:38] Russia's fastest growing sectors. 30 [00:23:42] world, [00:23:43] Moscow. Sonia, [00:23:46] Vanden Ender is a Russia based political. analyst and [00:23:50] says the war is starting to affect people's everyday lives in [00:23:54] Russia. key of strategy is to [00:23:58] hurt the economy. this is what they say, this is what uh President [00:24:01] Zelenski said few weeks ago, but of course [00:24:05] this is now on consumers markets like wild berries, you have [00:24:09] also ozon there, but this is not struck, but especially wild berries, [00:24:13] and of course this is very bad, it's not only bad for [00:24:16] consumers, but also a lot of countries are, [00:24:20] involved like Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, [00:24:23] even China, and he said that there is [00:24:27] military gear there, but if you look at all the retailers, like [00:24:31] for instance you have aliexpress, well they also sold [00:24:34] like what you can call military gear, it's just suits and [00:24:38] drones, I mean I remember that I was somehow in the Donbas [00:24:42] and I saw some drones and one man told me there, [00:24:45] or they are drones from aliexpress, so I [00:24:48] mean uh... they sell drones, that's that's normal, i [00:24:52] don't think wildbly said will sell drones anymore, but of [00:24:56] course it's bad for consumers, but heard that it's still going [00:25:00] on, mean the sale still going on because russia has uh a big, it's a big [00:25:04] retailer in Russia of course, the war is coming close, [00:25:07] mean uh Ukraine is sending lot of drones [00:25:11] every day, not every day but nearly every week or [00:25:15] every other day and it struck on oil refineries and it [00:25:18] is of course also not all refineries, it's also [00:25:22] hitting civilian buildings, we saw in the last week [00:25:26] apartment buildings, so it's hitting civilians as well, [00:25:29] and this is not really, yeah, it's it's like you [00:25:33] can say kind of terrorism because this is actually [00:25:37] private goods, it's from civilians like wellberries and [00:25:40] apartment blocks and [00:25:44] Ukraine, three people have been killed in overnight strikes by Russia on [00:25:47] settlements in the northern sumi region. Three more were killed in [00:25:51] strikes on the eastern city of Bacalia in the Hadkiv region. It comes [00:25:55] after a barrage of Russian missiles and drones were launched at Kieve and the [00:25:59] surrounding region on Wednesday killing at least 17 people. [00:26:03] what was Joe Flynn has more from Kief? we [00:26:06] overnight saw few casualties in places, including [00:26:10] in [00:26:11] the the eastern part the the frontline, but also in the north and Sumi as well, Russian glide bombs there [00:26:15] hitting Sumi City, injuring number of people and also resulting [00:26:18] a couple of deaths. It is normal evening, normal night for [00:26:22] Ukraine, but one that is increasingly concerning of course in the context [00:26:25] the ballistic missiles and the lack of our defenses that Ukraine currently [00:26:29] has, Vladimir Zelinski there talking to uh the... defense minister [00:26:33] was streating, we know that he has been having conversations yesterday too with [00:26:37] Mark Rootter about how Ukraine can accelerate access [00:26:41] to European partners, interceptors, things that are actually able to [00:26:45] shoot down these ballistic missiles, because currently Ukraine basically [00:26:48] has nothing. The key element of this is the US Patriot system, [00:26:52] there are conversations between Kiev and Washington DC [00:26:56] over both access to patriot systems, to patriot interceptor missiles [00:27:00] themselves, but also about Ukraine's ability. to manufacture patriots [00:27:04] in the future. the key fact in all of this is the lead [00:27:07] time that it would take to to do so. even with patrious systems getting [00:27:11] green-lit today, we would still be looking at the middle of next year before those will be able to come on [00:27:15] stream and possibly even later before they're actually able to be integrated [00:27:18] into Ukrainian air defense. in the meantime, Ukraine [00:27:22] is working incredibly hard to try and boost its own [00:27:25] defensive um domestic manufacturing [00:27:28] capabilities. defense firms here that we've been talking to over the last couple of days and that we are. [00:27:32] talking to uh in the the coming days as well are are really trying to [00:27:36] move forward quickly tandem with their European partners, but there are [00:27:40] significant road blocks, chief among them is how they pay for [00:27:44] it, and those are conversations too that both NATO and Vladimir Zelinski [00:27:48] will have in European capitals. [00:27:52] Well, Turkey's National Security Council, chaired by president Erdogan discussed the [00:27:56] latest developments on the terror Free Turkia initiative. On [00:27:59] Wednesday, new legislative framework was submitted to parliament to create a [00:28:03] framework for the next stage the terror freee tord care [00:28:06] initiative. the legislation will take effect once the PKK terror [00:28:10] groups full disarmament is verified. it will allow the cases [00:28:14] of imprisoned terrorists to be reassessed, but authorities [00:28:18] stress that this is not a general [00:28:20] amnesty. all protesters have clashed with [00:28:24] police in Argentina during rally against land [00:28:28] reforms and campaign groups and opposition parties [00:28:31] marched. to the senate and these are live pictures [00:28:35] right now from Buenos Ires [00:28:38] and President Javier Milet's government [00:28:42] is backing bill aimed at ending restrictions on [00:28:46] foreign ownership of land in Argentina, they [00:28:49] say the aim is to attract investment, but [00:28:53] protesters argue that the government is selling [00:28:56] off the country, and these are life pictures right [00:29:00] now from the capital of... of Argentina, Buenos [00:29:04] Aires where protesters are rallying against proposed [00:29:07] land reform measures by President [00:29:10] Miley. [00:29:17] Well, at least 100 people w died in the mass storming [00:29:21] the Spanish and North African enclave of felt that last week, according [00:29:25] to the city's mayor, tens of thousands of migrants crossed the land [00:29:29] border from Morocco last Thursday and Friday, many of... [00:29:33] the local authorities struggling to cop [00:29:35] there. Saiuta has [00:29:39] not yet returned to normal because between 3,000 and 500 the [00:29:43] people who entered during July the 30th and 31st [00:29:47] still remain in the city, because the reception centers for adults and [00:29:51] minors are overwhelmed and have reached a state of collapse, meaning the [00:29:54] influx has developed into humanitarian emergency of enormous [00:29:58] proportions. I do understand the concern. [00:30:02] and the need also to respond maybe from some [00:30:06] member states, but internal border checks should definitely be, i [00:30:10] would say the last resort measures where only where [00:30:14] necessary and and where it's [00:30:16] proportional. sports news, the former liverpool [00:30:20] star mohammed salah has signed two-year deal with the turkish super [00:30:23] league side traps on sport. this is a bigger signing into the [00:30:27] top football league this season, the thousands of fans are celebrating [00:30:31] his arrive. arrival, traps on sport is one of Turkia's [00:30:35] top teams, they finished third last season and have won the [00:30:39] Super League title seven times.
