[00:09:52] much of a change does this represent for Colombia, new era for
[00:09:56] the country now? happy to be here with you
[00:10:00] tonight, and this represents significant change regarding
[00:10:04] policy, not only in terms of security, but also
[00:10:07] economically, one must recognize that
[00:10:10] there was a very polarized election. one in which
[00:10:14] two extremes the political spectrum arrived at the final
[00:10:17] round, and
[00:10:19] in which the difference was less than one%, and
[00:10:23] that demonstrated also, a thirst for
[00:10:27] change regarding not only the security policy, but
[00:10:30] especially regarding the failures the peace process or
[00:10:34] attempted total peace process in colombia that
[00:10:37] was led by the petrol administration
[00:10:41] and also the third set colombia had for an outsider the political
[00:10:45] system to arrive to the presidency, yeah
[00:10:48] and he's he said he wants to get tougher on the armed groups
[00:10:51] and treat them as military targets, what impact is? that likely to
[00:10:55] have that will, it depends, it
[00:10:59] likely will uh lead to short term gains that could,
[00:11:03] because one has to recognize that, for example, according to the latest

[00:11:43] demonstrates the need for a change in the security policy and a

[00:12:01] own security and economic challenges. I

[00:12:12] 2000 with the pink tide, this is reversal to the right,
[00:12:16] not only in Colombia but also ecuador, in
[00:12:20] Argentina, in Chile, with cast, in Bolivia, in
[00:12:23] Peru and perhaps the outlier in this case
[00:12:27] will be a Brazil, but it's too hard to
[00:12:30] know. um, but it demonstrates not only a shift to the
[00:12:34] right, but also an anti-incumbent shift that was also present
[00:12:38] four years ago when bra arrived in the
[00:12:41] presidency, and the general south america
[00:12:45] continent was shifting to the left, so I think it's a
[00:12:48] pendulum swinging back to the right, not only in Colombia, but also in
[00:12:52] generally in Latin America and... aspiraya has also
