[00:16:11] game, he could have cancelled the rest of his tour and then released a one-page statement
[00:16:15] instead the 10-page slop where he just said, hey, I'm cancelling my tour, I don't
[00:16:19] want to play in these venues, I stand with Mackelmore, and more so,
[00:16:22] humanity, and then he could have paid off all of his openers, paid off
[00:16:26] all of his band, refunded all the tickets, and then he would still be
[00:16:29] millionaire. He's one the most successful singers, songwriters in the
[00:16:33] world right now, but Ed Shiran is facing growing backlash. for
[00:16:37] failing to stand up for one of his supporting acts after he was dropped from
[00:16:41] his north american tour. that supporting act was US rapper
[00:16:45] Mackelmore whose pro-palestinian comments prompted several stadium
[00:16:49] owners to object to his appearance. led by billionaire Robert
[00:16:53] Craft, they inform Sheran that his concerts could not be
[00:16:56] held at their venues if the US rapper continued as the opening
[00:17:00] act. Shiran responded by saying he did not agree with
[00:17:04] them and that he was a political, but his failure to fight for
[00:17:08] Makelmore led to all four of his opening acts and the live band
[00:17:12] pulling out the tour. I am just thinking about how
[00:17:16] Ed Sheeron could have been such hero. when Robert Craft
[00:17:19] called Ed Sheron and said you need to take Maclimore off of your
[00:17:23] tour or we're canceling your dates at our venues. Ed Sheeren
[00:17:27] could have called his bluff and said do it. Okay, cancel my
[00:17:31] dates, because
[00:17:31] it would have been a huge loss of money for Robert Craft as well. So, one, he might have
[00:17:35] changed his mind and just let the concerts go. on, but two, even if Robert
[00:17:39] Craft did cancel
[00:17:40] Ed Sheeren's dates, Ed Sheron could have released a statement and said, sorry guys, he's canceling these
[00:17:44] dates and we will have to reschedule
[00:17:46] a different venue because he wants to stifle
[00:17:49] Maclimore's free speech, and I'm not going to stand for my friend
[00:17:53] being removed from tour because he said free Palestine, because what's crazy is
[00:17:57] that Ed Sheron wouldn't have had to take some super radical stance on
[00:18:01] Palestine, he could have really made it a free speech issue and said like
[00:18:05] Maclemore, his free speech is being suppressed. and like I'm not going to stand for that.

[00:18:40] forgotten. A day later, he went to clarify that criticizing
[00:18:43] the Israeli government is not an attack on Jewish people. Since the war in
[00:18:47] Gaza began in 2023, artists across the world have spoken
[00:18:51] out, but this time when you owners and promoters chose to silence
[00:18:55] Makelmore. One the
[00:18:59] reasons why I wanted to come on this tour was because I wanted to
[00:19:03] stand up here on stages and stadiums
[00:19:06] across. America and say two words that
[00:19:10] are very near and dear to my heart,
[00:19:14] free Palestine. To
[00:19:18] all of my Jewish brothers and
[00:19:20] sisters, criticism of Israel,
[00:19:24] criticism of apartide, being against
[00:19:27] genocide, in no way is a criticism of you.
[00:19:31] September 6th, the Israeli American council launched a petition urging ed
[00:19:35] Sheron not to allow his tour to be used for what it. calls one-sided
[00:19:38] political propaganda. On September 11th, the artist
[00:19:42] Pink publicly condemned McLamore's rhetoric on Instagram, their high
[00:19:46] profile personality speaking out against what McLamore said, really
[00:19:50] highlighted what McLamore said on another level. September 14th
[00:19:54] Mclamore announces that he has been dropped from the tour and on September
[00:19:57] 15th, Ed Sheron released a statement saying that McLamore
[00:20:01] coming off tour was the promoter's decision, it was not mine.
[00:20:05] Maclamour's contract for the tour. was with the promoter, not me.
[00:20:09] I am not complicit. I have my personal views on this devastating conflict,
[00:20:13] but this was such a bad statement, and it has
[00:20:17] made the situation significantly worse. So then, the remaining
[00:20:21] supporting acts have withdrawn from his tour. On September 16th,
[00:20:25] McLamore has pledged his tour earnings to Palestine AID, so he
[00:20:29] announced that he will donate $1 million in net earnings from the tour to
[00:20:32] organizations that support Palestinians and he linked them in his
[00:20:36] caption. And then he also challenged Robert Kraft to do
[00:20:40] the same. Craft has actually responded. Ed called me and asked me to
[00:20:44] commit $2 million to match his donation to aid in the region to fight
[00:20:48] this humanitarian crisis. Okay, you're welcome to read the rest of that statement
[00:20:52] if you want, but I'm going to stop there and point out few things about
[00:20:56] this absolute dog statement. First of all, it is not an
[00:20:59] accident that Robert Craft did not specifically name what
[00:21:02] organizations he will be donating to, and instead simply says that
[00:21:06] he will be donating to organizations in the region.
[00:21:10] He's not going to donate any of that money to Palestinian aid
[00:21:14] organizations. He's going to donate it to the other side,
[00:21:18] just like he has with millions of... millions and millions of his dollars in the
[00:21:21] past. what if the person
[00:21:25] deciding whether you're a potential threat isn't a police officer,
[00:21:29] but an algorithm. it sounds like the premise of minor to
[00:21:32] report. in other words, predict dangerous behavior before it happens
[00:21:36] and intervene before a crime is committed. the predictive
[00:21:40] surveillance is moving from science fiction into the real world.
[00:21:44] investigation by the American prospects says antropic is
[00:21:47] expanding an intelligence operation. the monitors protest near
[00:21:51] company facilities and people considered potential threats to its
[00:21:55] executives. recent job posting suggests that the operation
[00:21:59] could go further with intelligence staff task with

[00:22:47] moving into law enforcement around the world. governments and
[00:22:51] militaries around the world are figuring out ways how to predict crime and
[00:22:54] attacks before they happen. let me explain: it didn't seed minority
[00:22:58] report, it is a 2002 sci-fi film directed by Stephen Spielberg starring Tom
[00:23:02] Cruz is a police officer who works with psychics to predict and stop
[00:23:06] crime before it happened. the US military during their time in Afghanistan
[00:23:10] developed an AI system called Raven Centry to help predict attacks
[00:23:13] before they happen. the system analyzed various data points including
[00:23:17] satellite imagery, co2 levels, weather, social media and so
[00:23:21] much more. its accuracy rating was a 70% clip and it
[00:23:25] even predicted a massive prison attack in 2020. Argentina announced
[00:23:29] that they are going to start using AI to predict and stop crime in their country.
[00:23:33] They're creating a special security unit that uses social media data as well
[00:23:36] as weather and historical crime data to predict where future crime might
[00:23:40] happen and to stop. In June, India said AI,
[00:23:44] machine learning and pattern analysis would be used to identify repeat
[00:23:48] offenders and criminal networks. Israel military and
[00:23:51] intelligence insiders described surveillance and AI assisted
[00:23:55] targeting during the war in Gaza, and in the US, the federal
[00:23:59] government is also expanding intelligence operations aimed at
[00:24:03] identifying potential domestic threats, but critics raise
[00:24:06] questions over transparency, privacy, accountability and
[00:24:10] bias, particularly when historical policing data is
[00:24:14] used to predict future behavior, because an algorithm doesn't
[00:24:18] begin with clean slate. "don't you want to go through like social media
[00:24:22] profiles and maybe identify people before they become radicalized
[00:24:26] or do something? sure, we already have people doing that, but now they've brought
[00:24:30] in that definition, and this is where it gets scary as hell. the terrorist screening

[00:24:37] expanded the quote threats that it looks at, anti-christianity
[00:24:41] threats, anti-capitalism threats, anti-americanism,
[00:24:45] extremism on migration, race and gender, and quote,
[00:24:48] hostility towards those. Who hold traditional American views on
[00:24:52] family, religion and morality. Well, that's very broad. So
[00:24:56] who's to say that this AI pre-Crime tool will not flag
[00:25:00] people right as displaying left-wing views as you know a way to give the
[00:25:04] government the right to do surveillance on them.
[00:25:07] Meta wants AI to do more than answer your questions. It wants
[00:25:11] it to run your life. The company has launched a personal AI
[00:25:15] agent that will sit inside WhatsApp, Instagram, and
[00:25:18] Facebook. The... app is called Muse and it can act
[00:25:22] autonomously from messaging friends and planning night
[00:25:25] out to shopping for holiday outfits, but do we
[00:25:29] really need another AI to run our lives? Let's break

[00:26:36] generous right, the number of credits that you get, shared some privacy around
[00:26:40] data, but if i know one thing about meta is they
[00:26:44] love data, they're making a really great product, they're making it free or
[00:26:48] very low price for lot of usage, you're really going for is everyday
[00:26:52] users, get as many free users as possible and eventually monetize
[00:26:56] potentially with ads, basically if you have not been giving enough of your
[00:26:59] personal data to meta the now have a product for
[00:27:03] you where you can give the rest of everything about your life to them in order for
[00:27:07] them to do work on your behalf.

[00:27:19] for picking up a book and reading for at least 15 minutes a
[00:27:22] day. it's all part of an effort to fight the rise of doom

[00:27:49] initiative to get some greens into reading. We're hoping to do this with 15 minute
[00:27:53] increments and you can log these reading sessions on the government website. Crowd task where you can get
[00:27:57] points and from those points you can eventually get cash out of it. So I know that
[00:28:00] currently it takes a thousand points. get a dollar and you get 20
[00:28:04] points, i believe for every reading session that you log, it doesn't matter how long the
[00:28:08] reading session is, it should be a minimum of 15 minutes, but it can go up to past 60
[00:28:12] minutes, it is designed for people who do not regularly read anyways, and you can read across a
[00:28:15] bunch of different platforms, you can read across like ebooks, graphic novels, newspapers,
[00:28:19] magazines, stuff online, physical books, also currently i believe all the points that are
[00:28:23] being accumulated from everyone's reading time from now until october 7th will be converted into
[00:28:27] money and will be donated to a charity designed around literacy and reading, the global
[00:28:31] literacy rate is dropping, i think we do hear a lot about the west,
[00:28:35] specifically America talking about their literacy rate dropping, but it is a global
