[00:00:02] of [00:00:10] Saudi Arabia promises to retaliate after Ansar allahuthi's [00:00:14] attacks on airports across the kingdom as Iran [00:00:18] offers to mediate. And a major cyber [00:00:55] attack hits fridges and [00:00:58] free freezers in supermarket. across France, causing fresh and [00:01:02] frozen food estimated to be worth millions of dollars to [00:01:05] spoil. [00:01:21] a [00:01:29] House. Arabia is vowing a strong response to the [00:01:32] recent [00:01:33] Ansarullahuti attacks on Riyad's main international airport. Saudi [00:01:37] authorities have extended the suspension of all flights to and from [00:01:40] a Riyad as the Houti step up their attacks on the airport and across the [00:01:44] kingdom. At least 14 people were killed and [00:01:47] of more than 300 injured in the deadliest attacks so far on [00:01:51] the airport over the [00:01:53] a weekend. The event of recent [00:01:56] of weeks are serious. Our response must be equally serious. [00:02:00] energy security cannot be taken for [00:02:03] granted, for Saudi Arabia, [00:02:06] this circumstances have tested our [00:02:10] infrastructure, our institution, [00:02:13] our people and our [00:02:16] resilience, they have also tested decision [00:02:20] of made long before the present [00:02:25] of crisis, in Yemen, the [00:02:27] in government's military says it's targeted several. [00:02:31] which has been the scene of intense fighting between the two sides. the [00:02:35] hootis have released footage showing Saudi backed Yemeny forces being [00:02:39] attacked in Marib. they're also warning the [00:02:42] of US not to enter the war in Yemen and issued a warning to [00:02:45] employees of Saudi oil facilities and [00:02:48] airports. [00:02:52] If [00:02:52] of the US becomes involved in the aggression against Yemen, we will not deliberate over the [00:02:56] decision to respond, rather there will be a swift and painful response. [00:03:00] targeting the US and all its interests in the region, wherever we can reach [00:03:04] them. We warn all employees and workers at Saudi Oil facilities and [00:03:07] airports to stay away from these sites, as they have become legitimate [00:03:11] targets for Yemen, particularly as the [00:03:14] of situation is heading towards a full scale [00:03:19] of a is escalation. insana [00:03:21] Muhammad and has the latest on the fighting across the [00:03:23] country. We are talking about that we are [00:03:27] having two narrations that the Hothies [00:03:29] say the... have carried out or [00:03:31] of started or resume [00:03:32] of this these operations or attacks by the houties on [00:03:36] on Saudi Arabia's vessels and also continue to [00:03:40] escalate [00:03:41] to towards the sea parts and now we are having this [00:03:45] newly developments in their attacks in on [00:03:48] the airports of Riyadh and different airports [00:03:52] in in Saudi Arabia's kingdom so far the the His [00:03:56] narration saying that they have escalated in order to put more. [00:04:00] pression Saudi Arabia to uh to lift its blockade and also [00:04:03] to to uh to allow Yamanes to benefit from their wealth [00:04:07] and to allow also yemenis to start to resume [00:04:11] talks to to go back to the negotiating table. The [00:04:14] highes [00:04:16] of leader known as Abdulmalik who said in his [00:04:20] latest speech he mentioned that they are [00:04:24] they are not to go going to abandon their what he [00:04:27] described as their legitimate demands and the will continue whatsoever [00:04:31] are the consequences until their demands are met so far [00:04:35] the on the other side we are talking about [00:04:37] of the Saudi Arabia's official who talked about that the [00:04:41] the the security of energy is something [00:04:44] in could couldn't be bargan [00:04:48] which could be [00:04:50] of described as this way so the both sides are adement [00:04:54] of to continue this war we what we are having on the ground [00:04:57] that the continuation [00:04:58] of the first battles and the around the city of tas, especially that the [00:05:01] internationally recognized government spokes person mentioned that they have [00:05:05] carried out nearly 1,800 [00:05:09] operations on on the houthis. [00:05:14] Iran has offered to facilitate talks between Saudi Arabia and the [00:05:18] Hutis. It's also called for a political solution to the [00:05:22] conflict. The Yemen [00:05:26] issue should have been resolved a long time ago through the same agreement reached between the [00:05:29] Yemenes and Saudi Arabia. [00:05:32] You know that road map had been agreed upon between Yemen and Saudi Arabia and we had also [00:05:36] stressed that we support the implementation of whatever understanding had been [00:05:39] reached between them. has [00:05:43] more from Tehran? Well, Iran has great [00:05:47] influence over Yemen's houthies. Tehran doesn't deny that [00:05:51] Yemen's Hothies are its alli. Iran doesn't deny [00:05:54] that it has provided Yemen suties with [00:05:57] support, economic support, diplomatic support and military [00:06:01] support at certain times, but Tehran insis that Yemen's Hothies [00:06:05] make their own decisions and the decisions that [00:06:08] Hutis make are not made by Tehran and [00:06:12] they make independent decisions, so Iran [00:06:16] is offering to help, on Sunday evening, Iran's foreign mister [00:06:20] Abbas Araqchi had a phone conversation with his Saudi counterpart [00:06:24] Faisal bin Farhan, so despite heighten tensions between the two [00:06:28] countries between Iran and Saudi Arabia, these two regional [00:06:32] rivals continue to have diplomatic engagements [00:06:35] at high levels, this was the first phone conversation [00:06:39] between the top diplomats since the yemen [00:06:43] war started. Iran says that the situation in [00:06:47] the Arabian peninsula has no military [00:06:50] solution. Tehran maintains that the [00:06:54] only way to settle this is through political means and Iran says that it [00:06:58] is ready to facilitate talks between Saudi [00:07:01] Arabia and between Yeman Southis. Iran says that war [00:07:05] between the two countries between Yeman suthis and Saudi Arabia [00:07:09] only serves Israely interests. Tehran also [00:07:12] says that road map for peace agreed by yemeni waring [00:07:16] factions back in 2022 that [00:07:19] un backed road map should be the basis for [00:07:23] negotiations and for diplomacy to settle this [00:07:26] issue. onof obaid is a [00:07:30] former saudi government advisor and a visiting senior fellow at king's college. he [00:07:34] says the hoothi's motivations are [00:07:36] clear. this is a way [00:07:40] the the only way to get back. at Saudi [00:07:43] Arabia and this is by attacking the civilian [00:07:46] targets, what more, what more to make point for [00:07:50] them is to hit um the airport or hit any other [00:07:54] civilian building to have the, to have the [00:07:58] media, the global media attention to it, but ultimately it doesn't [00:08:02] really change the the sequencing on the [00:08:05] ground, this is a war that has to happen [00:08:08] unfortunately, they are as you can see by their actions, [00:08:12] they are a terrorist organization that allows themselves [00:08:16] to do things that are completely out of international norm. last week they [00:08:20] were, they hit an electric generator in [00:08:24] medina, so it's just more the same, but [00:08:27] they've they have very, they have calculated [00:08:31] well that hitting a civilian airport such as the one in [00:08:35] riyad or the one in Damasmam, the king fadad airport [00:08:38] would make for enough international media attention. [00:08:43] to generate a form of embarrassment towards the saudi government, and that's exactly what they're [00:08:46] doing. [00:08:49] a turkish president strongly condemns the [00:08:53] attacks king international airport over the weekend. [00:08:57] he was speaking about the mecca joint defense agreement signed [00:09:01] with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. other one said the work to [00:09:04] establish a permanent institutional framework is [00:09:07] continuing. husiler [00:09:11] tarafından "We condemn in [00:09:13] the strongest terms, the attacks carried out by the Hufis on [00:09:17] Saturday against King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. [00:09:21] We ask Allah to have mercy on our brothers and sisters who passed [00:09:25] away. Turk stands with Saudi Arabia and its Saudi brothers in the [00:09:29] face these unlawful and inhumane attacks. We're [00:09:32] continuing our efforts to establish the institutional framework [00:09:36] for the joint defense agreement we signed with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia [00:09:40] on August 7, and we're..." advancing our defense cooperation [00:09:44] along two main things: first, we're working toward the goals [00:09:48] of collective defense and regional cooperation. [00:09:51] second, we're taking the necessary steps to ensure this [00:09:55] cooperation is enshrig a permanent and functional [00:09:59] institutional framework, as is the case with NATO. [00:10:02] activities under the joint defense agreement will be conducted in [00:10:06] accordance with our national legislation. we are continuing [00:10:10] our efforts to submit the agreement. [00:10:25] immigration officials raided the home of Somali born congresswoman [00:10:28] Ilhan Omar in the early hours of Monday morning. Omar is [00:10:32] democratic US representative of Minnesota and an outspoken [00:10:36] critic of President Donald Trump. She said the raid was an active [00:10:40] intimidation and vowed not to be silenced. The [00:10:43] investigation is thought to relate to Armar's immigration [00:10:47] paperwork. On North America correspondent John Brain [00:10:51] has more from Washington DC. This appears. be [00:10:55] the latest and certainly the most dramatic development in what has been [00:10:58] a long-running investigation into Ilan [00:11:02] Omar's immigration history and even her her [00:11:06] overall family's history, including claim that she [00:11:10] married her brother to get him into the United States, claim [00:11:14] she's dismissed as a disgusting lie uh this [00:11:17] morning FBI agents sealed off the road where she lives here [00:11:21] in Washington and they were seen coming out. of her [00:11:25] house with various possessions, [00:11:28] including documents, all part of this [00:11:32] investigation. Uh, now it's significant because in just [00:11:35] 22 days time, Ilan Omar will be asking [00:11:39] the uh people of Minnesota, those within her [00:11:43] district to vote for her to stay in Congress and the [00:11:47] protocol usually in the United States is that the Justice [00:11:50] Department does not carry out operations like this [00:11:54] within. 60 days of an election, even [00:11:58] if they believe that a crime has been committed, [00:12:02] because they don't want to favor one side or the other, so obviously [00:12:06] critics uh of this operation and supporters of [00:12:10] Ilan Omar are saying that this is blatant election [00:12:13] interference. Israeli forces have [00:12:17] launched a drone attack on refugee camp in the south of [00:12:21] Gaza killing two Palestinians. Paramedics say several people were wounded in [00:12:25] the drone attack which struck near the city of Rafah. The refugee [00:12:28] camp there shelters thousands of Palestinians who've been displaced several [00:12:32] times in Israel's three-year war. more than [00:12:35] 74,00 Palestinians have been killed with the toll [00:12:38] evidently rising every day. Israel's [00:12:42] military continues to expand it so-called yellow line [00:12:46] east Gaza City with more than [00:12:48] 65% the strip now under Israeli [00:12:52] army control. the line divides Gaza into... two zones, an [00:12:56] eastern area where Israeli forces remain deployed and prevent [00:12:59] Palestinians from returning, and a western area where more than 2 [00:13:03] million have been have been pushed and forced to live [00:13:07] under further restrictions. Abdul Wahab Hamad reports from Gaza [00:13:11] on how people are trying to make living near the yellow [00:13:14] line. I am here in one the neighborhoods [00:13:18] in eastern Gaza City. This area is very [00:13:21] close to the Israeli military controlled areas. in [00:13:25] Gaza known as yellow line there in the [00:13:28] background that whole area is under full Israeli [00:13:32] military control uh the yellow line [00:13:36] determines how much of Gaza Palestinians here can [00:13:39] actually live in. The problem is this [00:13:43] line was supposed to stay frozen until full [00:13:47] Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and [00:13:49] until Donald Trump Gaza piece [00:13:53] plan moves on. the second phase the [00:13:56] plan uh moves on, nothing of that happened, [00:14:00] Netanyahu has described the foot print as [00:14:04] 53% to 60% control over gaza, and [00:14:08] now he is saying the next step is [00:14:12] 70% control over the Palestinian coastal [00:14:15] enclave, this is naif, he lives in [00:14:19] distant and has lost his home inside the Israeli [00:14:22] military controlled areas. in the gaza strip known as the [00:14:26] yellow line, living very close to the line [00:14:30] determines how much he close and other families in [00:14:34] this neighborhood close to their homes, to their schools [00:14:37] inside those areas, moving the line [00:14:41] on means this family has to [00:14:45] move with it, bullets are [00:14:48] everywhere, we feel threatened all the time, we can't even [00:14:52] sleep at night because of fear, our lives. [00:15:11] you can imagine what that means for families living in this [00:15:14] neighborhood, they have been displaced many [00:15:18] times again and again they set up their [00:15:22] tens settle down and suddenly. [00:15:26] They're told to move again. [00:15:29] Negotiations over Trump's Gaza peace plan, the second [00:15:33] phase remains deadlocked with. [00:15:37] "this expansion the yellow line uh, this [00:15:41] means that the areas Israel control is getting bigger with [00:15:45] only one single fact, list is peace [00:15:49] for Palestinians to [00:15:50] live. Russia is [00:15:54] continuing to attack Ukraine's energy facilities. That's despite the [00:15:57] so-called energy cease fire declared by US President Donald Trump [00:16:01] on Sunday. Russia has yet to comment on Trump's claim, but Ukrainian [00:16:05] president Vuladimir Zelenski..." confirmed several gas facilities [00:16:09] were hit since his ceasefire announcement. Or Hawkins has [00:16:13] more. [00:16:17] A grocery store in [00:16:18] Kaquive. [00:16:24] All what's left of it? The Russian missile killed three [00:16:28] people. It's so hard to describe how a [00:16:31] child was lying there already covered up and the father was running around [00:16:35] her crying and screaming. It's so terrifying, it's impossible to [00:16:39] get through something like this. The thermal power plant [00:16:43] 1 km away was also hit. I think that record [00:16:47] was also meant for the thermal power plant, but it hit civilians. There [00:16:51] are no military facilities there at all, nothing. Seven [00:16:55] and a half hours earlier, president Trump said both sides had agreed not to [00:16:59] target energy [00:17:00] infrastructure. [00:17:03] Well, we want to believe this. [00:17:07] energy facilities and there have already been five strikes. [00:17:11] Ukraine says Russia has hit energy generating facilities more than [00:17:15] 200 times in the past week, [00:17:17] as part of renewed campaign before [00:17:20] winter. Neither country has confirmed any [00:17:23] sort of deal to stop attacking power plants, but [00:17:27] we are ready for energy seasfire. We [00:17:31] are ready for any mutual format, anything that [00:17:35] is not one-sided. Ukraine is scratching [00:17:39] its head. President Trump only signed off on more Russian sanctions less [00:17:43] than a month ago, [00:17:44] now he's waving them with high diesel prices and mid-term elections around the [00:17:48] corner. Washington has also reportedly threatened to reduce military [00:17:52] and intelligence assistance if Ukraine continues striking Russian [00:17:56] refineries. After some puzzling moves in recent [00:17:59] days, Europe should stand up and act [00:18:02] decisively. This must be a week [00:18:06] of strengths. "he was speaking at an EU foreign [00:18:09] minister's meeting where strength appears to mean more [00:18:13] sanctions. He will lost the gloves to 1,600 assets [00:18:17] and uh companies and persons, it's the largest list the European [00:18:21] Union has done. It could make it harder and more expensive for Russia [00:18:25] to make its weapons, but analysts caution that sanctions alone haven't [00:18:28] stopped Russia so far. On Sunday, after initially [00:18:32] criticizing the deal, Vladimir Zelensky had President Trump say it's time for [00:18:36] Ukraine to have new..." tell putin give [00:18:40] us two months 60 days of [00:18:44] total sifire 60 days and we will organize [00:18:47] elections. on Monday came the Russian [00:18:50] rebuke. I do not think he deserves [00:18:54] respite. We continue to achieve the goals the special military [00:18:57] operation, [00:18:59] some of which will be partly funded by American money as Trump seeks to [00:19:03] achieve his goals in next month's mid-term elections. Paul [00:19:06] Hawkins. TRT [00:19:08] World: a Russian foreign [00:19:12] minister Sergei Lavrov has slammed Zelenski saying he does not deserve [00:19:16] a cease fire. He claims the Ukrainian leadia would use the break to [00:19:20] reconstitute his military [00:19:21] force. I do not [00:19:25] believe he has earned the respite, nor do I think we [00:19:29] will once again fall for assurances and promises. The president has [00:19:33] stated this very clearly. We continue to achieve the objectives. [00:19:37] the special military operation, these objectives are well-known [00:19:41] to everyone and have never changed, unlike the [00:19:45] zigzags and shifting winds of Zelensky and his European [00:19:49] masters, therefore we have no need to justify [00:19:52] ourselves to [00:19:54] anyone. a British prime minister [00:19:58] Andy Burnam has said, it is almost certain that Iran's [00:20:01] revolutionary guard is behind a suspected pilot [00:20:05] targeting the RAF fairford airbase. north of [00:20:08] London. The incident occurred last month when several white vans carrying [00:20:12] significant amounts of gasoline tried to enter the air base [00:20:15] grounds. UK had authorized the US to use fairfood for [00:20:19] defensive strikes against Iran. I can [00:20:23] confirm our assessment that [00:20:25] it is highly likely to have been coordinated in [00:20:29] Iran, almost certainly directed by Iran's [00:20:33] Islamic revolutionary guard. We will not tolerate these [00:20:36] threats on our soil, we will crack down on Iran's use of [00:20:40] criminal networks, using our full range of powers to target them [00:20:44] and their funding [00:20:44] streams. [00:20:48] Iran's ambassador, denies any Iranian involvement in the [00:20:52] suspected plot after being summoned over the incident. our correspondent Victoria [00:20:56] Inness has more. when it comes to that incident [00:21:00] which took place at Raf Fairford and at the time it was [00:21:03] being seen as an extremely serious [00:21:07] incident. It is perhaps the most detail we have had [00:21:11] so far from the British government as to who was [00:21:14] behind it. what we still don't know is what evidence if [00:21:18] any uh they have at moment, what perhaps the [00:21:21] motive uh was, we haven't had any of those details, [00:21:25] it has been, it's fair to say a [00:21:29] simply bizarre incident, we had of course there are a number of [00:21:32] suspicious vehicles, we had seven [00:21:35] people in total arrested, um, many them, [00:21:39] some them on explosives and others on terror charges, [00:21:43] um, they were later released on bail, no explosives, uh, [00:21:47] no suspected terror plot um was found, "we had [00:21:50] interventions from the US president, said he wouldn't uh [00:21:54] have released them given what they know, but from the UK, in [00:21:58] the last few weeks or so since that incident at the end of September, we [00:22:02] have had not many details at all. police said just last week [00:22:06] that the investigation was moving along well and that the public [00:22:10] uh should be patient when it came to the reasons behind [00:22:14] it, and then of course we had after a period um of [00:22:17] pause in the British parliament for conference." season, this [00:22:21] intervention by the prime minister Andy Burnham, in which he said that it is [00:22:25] highly likely that this was coordinated by in [00:22:29] Iran and highly likely by the Islamic Revolutionary [00:22:33] guard. And thousands of people have marched [00:22:36] towards India's Supreme Court as widespread protests over [00:22:40] alleged electoral fraud continue to rock the country. [00:22:44] Opposition parties and supporters the youth-led cockroach [00:22:48] Janta movement have been on the streets almost. daily this month, they want the [00:22:52] election chief to resign after 130 million people were [00:22:55] removed from voting registers in a country where almost a [00:22:59] billion went to the polls in the most recent election in [00:23:03] 2024. mhammed haji [00:23:04] reports: [00:23:09] it could be one the biggest political challenges India's government has [00:23:13] faced in more than decade as new week brought a fresh wave [00:23:17] of unrest. Despite security [00:23:21] measures described as fortress-like in New Delhi, once [00:23:24] again thousands of people marched through its [00:23:27] streets. Leading them in the front [00:23:31] left seat the bus and fresh from his own detention was opposition [00:23:35] leader Rahul Gandhi, and people are seeing the Narendra [00:23:39] Modi is blocking the whole town. He is putting 30,000, [00:23:43] 40,00 police officers outside, for what? Until the constitution [00:23:47] is upheld, until the election commissioner. resigns, [00:23:51] until the election system is revamped, until India gets [00:23:55] justice, the youth of this country won't stop, do [00:23:59] whatever you want. This march was headed [00:24:02] to the Supreme Court to submit a petition calling for his [00:24:06] impeachments. He is guilty, they say, [00:24:10] of electoral fraud. Today, everything is [00:24:14] in their hands, they have taken control of everything, and we're out on the [00:24:18] streets fighting for those. dead for [00:24:21] rights, voice, the voice the people. [00:24:25] for protesters have been out almost daily this month. over the [00:24:29] past three though, they say police have become more [00:24:33] heavy-handed. thousands of people were [00:24:36] detained. they've also been blocked from the city's [00:24:39] biggest protest sites. they're now calling on the government to let [00:24:43] them in, and if it doesn't, if you don't give us [00:24:47] date in the next 24 hours. and we will be compelled to give another [00:24:51] call for a protest and we will have no choice but to hit the [00:24:55] streets. the electoral commission has denied [00:24:58] favoring any party with the changes, saying deleted voters [00:25:02] can reapply, while the ruling party has accused the [00:25:06] opposition of trying to destabilize India and seize [00:25:09] power. it is the prime minister silence though that [00:25:13] many find defening. all while protesters [00:25:17] vow to raise their voices even louder. not [00:25:20] just in New Delhi, but across the country. [00:25:24] Mohamed Haji, TRT [00:25:26] World. In France, [00:25:30] hundreds of supermarkets were hit by an unprecedented cyber attack that heated [00:25:34] fridges and freezers up to 50 degrees [00:25:37] celsius. Fires and large-scale food damage estimated to be [00:25:41] worth millions of dollars has been reported and some the country's biggest [00:25:44] supermarket chains were hit in, including Carfour. It said [00:25:48] 80 of its stores. [00:25:54] We had experienced a cyber attack on our software, which [00:25:57] unfortunately brought temperatures up to 80 degrees, [00:26:01] which made some items... melt in terms of fresh items, don't [00:26:04] bother going to our shop today, because we have to put it all [00:26:08] in the rubbish, it's an enormous loss of products, it has [00:26:12] affected six shops in the area, that's what we learned this [00:26:16] morning. now peter [00:26:19] allen has more on this from Paris, it's an [00:26:23] absolutely extraordinary event, something that has [00:26:27] captured the imagination the French consumer and of course [00:26:31] very negative... way, I've just been getting lot of [00:26:35] technical details about what happened through one the [00:26:39] large supermarkets affected, and what actually [00:26:42] happened was that hackers managed to get through to [00:26:46] an old software program which um [00:26:50] affected around [00:26:53] 400 supermarkets, that's a significant number, [00:26:57] yes there are 15,000 odd supermarkets across [00:27:00] France, but 400... including many here in [00:27:04] central Paris being hit in this way is of course [00:27:08] um something of huge concern. what i'm hearing is that it was [00:27:12] a Danish company called Danny Foss [00:27:16] which was regulating these temperatures independently [00:27:19] remotely from outside the supermarkets and their old [00:27:23] software they are arguing was uh [00:27:27] affected by these hackers. they are saying they accusing the [00:27:31] supermarket of not updating their software to prevent an [00:27:35] attack like this, they're saying it's a security problem, they told the [00:27:38] supermarket how to deal with it, because they feared attack like this, [00:27:42] but the attack happened on Sunday, lot of managers came in on [00:27:46] Monday morning and they found anything up to half their stock completely [00:27:50] ruined, millions of dollars worth of food [00:27:54] ruined. Of course, food security is huge issue [00:27:58] for any modern society, any ancient society as well, but [00:28:01] particularly now. when you have um uh fridges [00:28:05] and freezers and the like which are so vulnerable to attack, these were [00:28:09] vulnerable to attack and the hackers managed to get in, a [00:28:12] prosecution has been launched, prosecutors are trying to find [00:28:16] out who is behind all that, there is already [00:28:19] suspicion that russians might uh be behind it, whenever there's a [00:28:23] hacking incident here in France, they always blame the Russians, but of course they need the [00:28:27] evidence to prove it, but huge huge concern here at the [00:28:31] moment. Bangladesh is preparing [00:28:35] to bring its first nuclear power plant online hoping [00:28:38] ease persistent electricity shortages. The [00:28:42] Russian-built project has brought jobs and investment, but years of [00:28:45] delays and concerns among some nearby residents have tempered [00:28:49] those expectations. Unis demorolu [00:28:52] reports. Bangladesh [00:28:56] is first nuclear power plant has yet to generate electricity, [00:29:00] but in this nearby classroom, it's all ready sparking [00:29:03] ambitions. My friends and I want to become [00:29:06] scientists and we hope to work at the plant after graduating in nuclear [00:29:10] engineering. The $13 billion dollar project promises [00:29:14] major new reliable source of electricity for a country reliant on [00:29:18] fossil fuels and struggling with frequent power cuts. Once fully [00:29:22] operational, its two reactors are expected to meet more than 10% of [00:29:26] national electricity demand, a significant input for a country of [00:29:29] almost 180 million people. plant management says the first [00:29:33] reactor is scheduled to start up by the end of this year. built with Russia [00:29:37] State Nuclear Company Rosatom, the project has brought thousands of Russian [00:29:41] workers and new business to the area, but the pandemic and sanctions on [00:29:45] Russia have contributed to delays and for some neighbors [00:29:48] anticipation is being tempered by [00:29:51] concern. I am old now [00:29:54] and I am not afraid for my own life, because I feel I [00:29:58] am nearing the end of my life, but I worry about [00:30:02] my children and grandchildren, i want them to be safe, they [00:30:06] need safety more than do, plenty officials say [00:30:10] stringent safeguards incorporate lessons from previous nuclear [00:30:13] accidents, farmer shares some of her [00:30:17] neighbors concerns, but power cuts make irrigating her land [00:30:21] difficult, hope we get electricity for [00:30:24] 24 hours without [00:30:25] interruption, the promise [00:30:29] extends well beyond reliable. eletricity can keep factories [00:30:33] running, farms irrigated and homes lit. After years of [00:30:37] delays, the country is waiting for that to become part the reality of everyday [00:30:41] life. Unis demirolu, TRT [00:30:43] World. A state emergency has been [00:30:47] declared in parts of Pakistan, as thousands there [00:30:51] protest in support the jailed former Prime Minister.
