[00:02:10] by him, President Tinubu said he respects

[00:02:17] of the EFCC's decision before it was taken. He
[00:02:21] acknowledged the
[00:02:22] of EFCC's legal powers to investigate alleged financial
[00:02:25] crimes, but stress that government institutions must act in
[00:02:29] ways that. protect trust in Nigeria's democracy. The
[00:02:32] president has ordered the anti-graft agency to return to court,
[00:02:36] vacate the
[00:02:37] of order and discontinue the action against the ocean
[00:02:40] a state government.

[00:03:03] Molatinu's directive to halt economic and
[00:03:07] financial crimes commission's action against
[00:03:09] of Aushen State just days before the

[00:03:22] establishment act of 2004, if you look
[00:03:26] a at section
[00:03:27] of 34, um, it's very clear. on and
[00:03:31] unambiguous, you know, it empowers the chairman of

[00:03:37] representing him to issue a
[00:03:40] temporal freeze
[00:03:45] of any account, be public uh
[00:03:48] of government
[00:03:49] of or sub national uh government, you know,
[00:03:53] although this
[00:03:54] of has um,
[00:03:57] in you know, generated lot of argument because um, some
[00:04:00] of critics,
[00:04:00] you know,
[00:04:01] in have argued that this is actually, this singular
[00:04:05] act is enfrigging on what is
[00:04:09] called
[00:04:09] of the true federalism of any given state,
[00:04:13] you know, that if institution
[00:04:15] of the federal arm of government can be
[00:04:19] used against the subnational,
[00:04:23] of you know, that it then undermines through
[00:04:26] a federalism as it were, however, the president
[00:04:30] and commander in chief had actually
[00:04:33] you know asked the EFCC to
[00:04:37] um immediately go to court and vacate that
[00:04:40] of order and unfreeze the account why?
[00:04:44] because
[00:04:44] of Mr. President and Commander in chief has gotten
[00:04:48] a big heart
[00:04:50] of because the president you know
[00:04:53] of of is politically mature, that is what I call it, he is
[00:04:57] politically mature because... he feels that
[00:05:01] this thing already is breeding
[00:05:04] you know negative
[00:05:06] uh um energy already, lot of people are complaining that
[00:05:10] it is because it is an opposition. and because the election is in
[00:05:14] few days,
[00:05:15] you know, about a week or there about,
[00:05:17] you know, and then the the the the federal government,
[00:05:21] you know, wants to stifle you know the
[00:05:25] shun state government of, but this is not true, because
[00:05:29] Mr. President has demonstrated that
[00:05:32] he is, you know, the president the Federal Republic of
[00:05:35] Nigeria, interesting, and the father the nation, however,
[00:05:39] some other persons are cross section of... country believe
[00:05:43] that perhaps this is a form of interference
[00:05:47] by the president uh on the activities
[00:05:50] of an ass a unit that is
[00:05:54] meant to be able to handle things on their own,
[00:05:57] because organizations like this are meant to have their own powers,
[00:06:01] be able to execute whatever it is, the the the
[00:06:05] constitution has empower them to do and the act that
[00:06:09] enables them to work has empower them to do so that the pres president is
[00:06:12] not meant to interfere, how do you respond to

[00:06:46] it is interfering on the statutory
[00:06:49] function the EFCC as it were,
[00:06:53] but I want to remind every critic of something,
[00:06:57] Nigeria is evolving democratic
[00:07:00] states. what the president and commander in chief
[00:07:03] has done is in the interest the federal Republic of
[00:07:07] Nigeria, he has demonstrated capacity as
[00:07:11] father. the nation, he has demonstrated that
[00:07:15] he is not interested in stiffling opposition government
[00:07:19] as it were, but
[00:07:21] you know critic will always want to say one thing or the other to
[00:07:24] undermine the good wills and the good intention quickly, if i get you
[00:07:28] correctly, if the president had not interfered, that would have
[00:07:31] been that he was stifling the opposition, is that what you're
[00:07:34] saying? i am not saying that, i have not
[00:07:38] said that, i'm saying that what the critic had
[00:07:42] already opind before now is that the
[00:07:46] the the APC led government is trying to stiffle the
[00:07:50] opposition as it has appeared in oshin
[00:07:53] state, but what Mr. President and Commander in chief has
[00:07:57] demonstrated is that he has what
[00:08:01] is called political maturity. All right, he is
[00:08:05] there to welcome both opposition and
[00:08:08] members the ruling party alike and then he is interested in
[00:08:12] ensuring that there is level playing ground for either
[00:08:16] opposition or ruling party as it were, we'll have to leave the

[00:08:35] the remand in kuje correctional center of retired
[00:08:39] officer the department of state services,
[00:08:45] The retired officer was aragned by DSS for for,
[00:08:48] among other things, supporting a prescribed terrorist
[00:08:52] organization, the indigenous people of Byafra. He was
[00:08:55] arrained a four count charge including joining
[00:08:59] ipob, posting messages
[00:09:00] in support the prescribed organization and involvement in
[00:09:04] acts capable of inducing unsuspecting members the public to join

[00:09:15] did was contrary to and punishable under
[00:09:19] sections 13, 25-26 the
