[00:02:44] In this context, authorities are trying to
[00:02:47] direct as much water as possible to the Old Danube, from where the
[00:02:51] Cernavodă power plant is supplied. And for this,
[00:02:54] authorities have decided to sink four barges in
[00:02:57] the Bala Arm area to direct as much water as possible to the
[00:03:01] Old Danube. These are barges filled with crushed stone from the Stânca Pârjoaia
[00:03:05] area, detonated by the army a few days ago.

[00:26:06] any speculation this way. The transparency exercise comes
[00:26:10] against the backdrop of heated debates in parliament on the ANI law, where
[00:26:13] an amendment submitted by AUR directly targets the president's
[00:26:17] partner. According to the declaration published
[00:26:20] on the presidential administration's website, Mirabela Grădinaru owns
[00:26:24] a plot of land in Moara Vlăsiei, Ilfov. She inherited
[00:26:28] various shares of several plots of land, two houses, and a
[00:26:31] vineyard, all in Vaslui county, from her grandparents and father.
[00:26:35] The president's partner has two cars from
[00:26:38] 2016 and 1992.
[00:26:41] In the last year, her income from the private company where she is employed
[00:26:45] was almost 16,000 RON, which is around
[00:26:48] 13,000 RON per month. She also has shares worth
[00:26:52] 4,000 € through an employee program. In
[00:26:56] her declaration of interests, Mirabela Grădinaru stated that she is the president
[00:26:59] of the civic organization SOS Orașul, to which she lent
[00:27:03] 116,000 RON. According to the current
[00:27:07] legislation in force, the president's partner is not
[00:27:10] obliged to submit a declaration of assets
[00:27:13] or interests. However, President Nicușor Dan
[00:27:16] wrote in a public message on social media that he is doing
[00:27:20] it in the spirit of transparency and to remove any
[00:27:23] speculation. At the debate on the ANI Law
[00:27:27] in parliament, AUR representatives introduced an amendment with the support of PSD,
[00:27:30] which directly targets Mirabela Grădinaru. According to
[00:27:33] this, people who have relationships with dignitaries
[00:27:37] similar to spouses will be obliged to submit declarations of assets
[00:27:40] and interests. The president wants to send an
[00:27:44] informal signal, by which he points his finger
[00:27:47] at these changes, as
[00:27:50] being potentially unconstitutional. In
[00:27:53] fact, the proposals that were formulated,
[00:27:56] respectively, the inclusion of life partners
[00:27:59] in... the declaration of assets and interests
[00:28:03] are not found in the civil code. Mirabela
[00:28:06] Grădinaru appeared in several public actions alongside President
[00:28:09] Nicușor Dan and represented Romania at the White House at a summit
[00:28:13] organized by the First Lady of the United States, Melania
[00:28:17] Trump. The Integrity Law passed
[00:28:20] the Senate with a large majority, but not without political
[00:28:23] scandal. Amendments mutually supported by PSD and AUR
[00:28:27] ignited the dispute among parliamentarians. One of them provides
[00:28:30] for the termination of mandates of those declared incompatible before the law came
[00:28:34] into force, a provision that USR considers directed
[00:28:37] against the mayor of Timișoara, Dominic Fritz. USR has already announced that it will
[00:28:41] challenge the law at the Constitutional Court. Another
[00:28:44] amendment also obliges the life partners of dignitaries to submit declarations of assets
[00:28:48] and interests. The project was adopted with 105 votes for, eight
[00:28:51] against, and seven abstentions and must be published in the Official Gazette by the end
[00:28:55] of this month. The law is a milestone in the PNRR, on which depends
[00:28:58] the access to 770 million euros, non-refundable funds. Almost a
[00:29:02] quarter
[00:29:05] of the city halls in the country risk losing state budget funding
[00:29:08] if they do not connect to the ghiseul.ro platform.
