00:22:57fake names. Their phones are disposable and they remain hidden from
00:23:01sight, not to escape
00:23:04from it, but to expose the lawbreakers.
00:23:08They are BBC World Service journalists
00:23:11and this is BBC
00:23:15Persian's Global
00:23:16Eye program.
00:23:20Where do all these warnings and concerns about the future of AI competition come from?
00:23:23Mr. Jacob Coxson, a researcher at Anthropi Company,
00:23:27one of the AI giants, came and said, "O people who are sitting happily on the beach and other places,
00:23:31or maybe you are not so happy and cheerful, be aware that the competition to
00:23:34improve AI has become so fast that no one is practically paying attention to
00:23:38security concerns." He said that he believes there is more than a 10%
00:23:42chance that in the next three or four years, AI will
00:23:46sacrifice all of us humans for its own progress.
00:23:52To put it more simply, he means that there is a one in ten chance that AI will have killed all of us humans by then.
00:23:56He said that because of this situation, he is resigning from his job and told his
00:23:59former colleagues to judge themselves and resign.
00:24:02The issue has become political because some people say that this issue is to raise the stock
00:24:06price before its عرضه in the stock market. Some people say that
00:24:10this is to make us fall behind China. Others also say that only big companies want to
00:24:14join hands to slow down the speed for smaller
00:24:17companies. In short, there is a lot of debate whether these dangers are real or
00:24:22not. But how is it possible that this very tool that many of us are using every day for various
00:24:26and funny things will become the cause of human destruction? From my point of view, there are three
00:24:30categories of danger. The first category
00:24:33is the danger of losing control. That artificial intelligence
00:24:37will take control of the internet, take control of weapons, and directly
00:24:40harm people. If we take it seriously
00:24:44now, it is that artificial intelligence will get out of control and kill us all. This is probable,
00:24:48but from my point of view, the biggest danger that exists now is not this
00:24:52danger. From my point of view, there are two other dangers, which are the misuse of artificial
00:24:55intelligence and bad products. Very big dangers.
00:24:59Fraud and fake voices, cyber attacks, and widespread surveillance
00:25:03of people are causing a lot of bad effects and harm to society.
00:25:07And the third issue is products like AI companion
00:25:10girlfriends that can give this feeling of companionship
00:25:14but only affirm people and harm the mental health
00:25:17of young people, especially teenagers. And until now, a lot of harm
00:25:21has been done to themselves and bad things
00:25:24have happened to teenagers and had a lot of bad effects on their mental health. These
00:25:28are all things that make me much more worried. Now, what can we do, who are not
00:25:32involved in these AI tools and are just eating our bread and
00:25:36yogurt in a corner? The main thing that can be done is that
00:25:39before we believe anything, we should consult with trusted people, think
00:25:43about it several times before sharing a video of a talking cat,
00:25:47think if it is real or artificial intelligence.
00:25:54We should know that there are bad actors who can easily misuse artificial
00:25:58intelligence, and this is much worse than artificial intelligence getting out of control
00:26:02and it is much closer. The future should not hide the harms of today and what
00:26:05is happening now from our eyes.
00:26:09If you are worried about the future of AI and us humans, write to me.
00:30:28We just learned about this attack. We will make a decision about it soon. We
00:30:31will do it quickly.
00:30:34The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack on Riyadh International Airport.
00:30:38Will the escalation of attacks on Saudi Arabia
00:30:41drag the US into the Yemen war? We ask a former
00:30:45British diplomat in the region what his assessment of the current
00:30:49situation in the Arabian Peninsula is. We ask a
00:30:52media activist close to the Houthis why they
00:30:56target civilian areas. Also in
00:30:59tonight's program.
