00:00:00The political
00:00:03aspects that the European Union implements will continue. What is
00:00:07it about? The leadership of
00:00:10the European Union wants to roll
00:00:14back food production in Europe. Let's
00:00:18buy from South America, we will
00:00:20import, our own production,
00:00:24we will limit it only to the level of certain
00:00:27high-quality products. But for Hungary,
00:00:30this applies directly.
00:00:34We see that the European Union is essentially
00:00:37stopping support for
00:00:40Hungarian agriculture, but Hungary is an agricultural
00:00:43country. If we lose our
00:00:46agriculture, what will be left
00:01:00fed, if not all of Europe, then a significant part. And where are they
00:01:03now? It seems to me that they can't even provide for themselves anymore. Here in
00:01:07Hungary, it's the same story.
00:01:11Well, unfortunately, from the Hungarian market, Hungarian apples,
00:01:14Hungarian peaches, Hungarian
00:01:18cherries, everything that we produce, is already disappearing.
00:01:21So all this goes to
00:01:24import. Now we see another dangerous
00:01:27phenomenon. The European Union constantly wants to pull
00:01:30Ukraine into the European Union.
00:01:33The appearance of Ukrainian agriculture on the
00:01:36European market destroys not only
00:01:40Hungarian agriculture, but also the very
00:01:43existence of the agricultural sector in
00:01:46Hungary. This undermines Hungary's living
00:01:49standards, undermines our, our, so
00:01:52to speak, our sovereignty in the field
00:01:55of agriculture, because a huge
00:01:58number of Ukrainians are appearing.
00:03:00Today, this historical cynicism is expressed in concrete figures. The Stockholm International Peace
00:03:04Research Institute recorded that global spending
00:03:07on weapons reached 2.887
00:03:10billion dollars, which is 352 dollars from each
00:03:14inhabitant of the Earth. The current scale of the food crisis on the planet
00:03:17remains critical. Outbreaks of hunger occur precisely where
00:03:20protracted armed conflicts rage. Wars destroy
00:03:23agriculture, block food supplies, and turn food into
00:03:27a weapon with chronic malnutrition everywhere. Approximately
00:03:30645 million people, Africa suffers the most,
00:03:34where one in five residents starves, as well as Asia, where the number
00:03:37of emaciated people exceeds 290 million people.
00:03:40The main hotbeds of disaster on the political map remain Somalia,
00:03:44Haiti, Madagascar, the Syrian Arab Republic, and
00:03:47the Democratic Republic of Congo, where between
00:03:5040 and almost 60% of the population suffers from severe food shortages.
00:03:53And now let's compare this with the cost of saving
00:03:57people from death. According to the UN World Food Program,
00:04:30in their pockets, to feed these people. Well,
00:04:33indeed, in many African countries, this problem is acute, and we came with
00:04:37a certain agricultural, first of all,
00:04:40strategy. And we help
00:04:44in Zimbabwe and other countries to restore agriculture
00:04:47so that they can independently, with the help of our Belarusian
00:04:51Minsk tractors, grow and produce
00:04:54food, feed themselves. It seems to me that this is the only correct strategy,
00:04:58if we scale this up to the stated topic, the only correct
00:05:01strategy for solving the problem of hunger. Yes, this is the only
00:05:05correct strategy, because you can't bring
00:05:08all the food and feed everyone. This is one point. The second point is, people, in order
00:05:12to be able to provide themselves with food, must produce
00:05:15it themselves, feel, work on their land. This is exactly
00:05:19the strategy of the Republic of Belarus. We already mentioned Zimbabwe. It was
00:05:22with the help of the Republic of Belarus that Zimbabwe was able to provide itself
00:05:26with food. The Republic of Belarus not only supplies
00:05:30products, but it insists on
00:05:32organizing production, on localizing enterprises, on
00:05:36supplying equipment and solutions,
00:05:39comprehensive solutions that will help process.
00:06:42This is the policy model of the European Union's development
00:06:46for the last 35 years,
00:06:49that is, a model that is based on
00:06:52aid to some non-governmental
00:06:56organizations, NGOs, that will engage in
00:07:00politics instead of local government, local
00:07:03Ministry of Agriculture and
00:07:07local state
00:07:10structures. On the contrary, we need to develop
00:07:13these states, give them
00:07:17power, so that they create,
00:07:21structure their market and their
00:07:24agricultural
00:07:28policy. It is precisely the depoliticization
00:07:30of politics, as aid,
00:07:34development and cooperation, that the European
00:07:37Union was engaged in, that is not
00:07:40working. Yuryevich, I can't shake off the thought
00:07:42we talked about, that someone definitely needs it. I would
00:07:46like to recall the scandalous article
00:07:49on, pay attention, the UN website, which was deleted in 2022.
00:07:53An article by a professor
00:07:57from the University of Hawaii, a respected person,
00:08:00who claims that essentially, global hunger is
00:08:04a blessing, because crowds, I am quoting now
00:08:07the respected professor, crowds
00:08:09of hungry people who want to work...
00:08:42That's the first thing. Secondly, what I want to
00:08:46say, what is actually
00:08:49manifested in these words of this professor,
00:08:52we see it in the example of the grain deal, which, by the way,
00:08:56was implemented, and I remind you that it was extended
00:08:59three times, and initially it was aimed at, well, firstly, of course,
00:09:03reducing global food prices, but
00:09:05secondly, at humanitarian aid to countries in Africa and the Middle
00:09:09East, well, by the way, also Afghanistan. In fact, as we can see...
00:09:32Italy, Spain, well, of course, some went to Asia and so on, but
00:09:36the very fact, the very fact, food should not
00:09:40be supplied for free.
00:10:55Approximately 80%
00:10:59of small food trade
00:11:02is handled by foreign
00:11:04companies. That is, however much Hungarian
00:11:08producers want to supply their products to the Hungarian
00:11:11market, they are objectively squeezed out, because
00:11:15supermarkets and large
00:11:18food stores belong to foreign capital,
00:11:21and the same process
00:11:25can be seen in other European
00:11:28countries. That is, large capital
00:11:31owns many other countries,
00:11:35uses our resources, uses our money, our
00:11:39sources, and it's not just
00:11:42the colonization of African countries that is happening now,
00:11:45it's the colonization of
00:12:11a flap of a wing, which in one part can
00:12:15cause, provoke a tornado in another. The war in
00:12:19the Middle East with the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz immediately
00:12:22provoked
00:12:25an effect all over the world, an effect of a peculiar
00:12:28earthquake, immediately a few
00:12:32weeks after this story, Estonian farmers, remember
00:12:35spring, were forced to abandon the
00:12:39sowing campaign in some farms,
00:12:42calculating future losses, and housewives in
00:12:46France, Germany and Italy this summer
00:12:49make big eyes when they come to the store and look at
00:12:52the price tags.
00:13:25against Western
00:13:27imperialism, so this
00:13:31of course greatly affects
00:13:33prices. We on the entire south of Italy now
00:13:36there is a strike, for several
00:13:39days already,
00:13:42you can't even find basic products in
00:13:44the market in stores. Now
00:13:48Meloni, the Meloni government, of course,
00:13:52naturally, their fascist...
00:14:55raising the average diesel price to a record 2 euros 30 cents
00:14:58per liter. Economists divide this massive crisis into three
00:15:01interrelated stages. It all started with a raw material shock. A sharp rise
00:15:05in natural gas prices led to the shutdown of factories and a jump in the cost
00:15:08of carbamide by a third. Because of this, farmers around the world reduced fertilizer
00:15:12purchases, which triggered the second stage of the stock market explosion. Financial markets
00:15:16immediately played ahead of the curve, which caused wheat to instantly rise in price by more than
00:15:2030%. Sugar added 18%, rice 13%, corn and
00:15:23soy grew by an average of 15%. The final stage
00:15:27was a transport collapse, when soaring raw material prices
00:15:30were superimposed on the exorbitant cost of automotive fuel, increasing
00:15:33the operating costs of one truck by 1,000 euros every 4 days.
00:15:37This logistical deadlock provoked a wave of radical protests across
00:15:41Europe. Thus, in the south of Italy, 7,000 transport companies announced
00:15:45a strike and blocked highways, which caused the shelves of local
00:15:48supermarkets to instantly empty. In neighboring Spain, due to
00:15:51the rise in agricultural diesel prices by 48%, the
00:15:54trade union organized a tractor siege of Barcelona. Other farmers
00:15:58blocked freight traffic on the border with Portugal. In Ireland,
00:16:01farmers blocked the country's only oil refinery,
00:16:05Whitegate. They were also protesting
00:16:07against the jump in fuel prices. The situation remains no less acute in France, where
00:16:11general protests against the cost of living brought 500 thousand
00:16:15people to the streets, and gasoline in some places exceeded 2 euros 40 cents per liter.
00:16:19To stop the riots, the French authorities urgently released 10
00:16:22million barrels of diesel from strategic reserves, and Emmanuel
00:16:26Macron went to the UAE for fuel. Earlier, French fishermen
00:16:29blocked the ports of Caen and Nice, and farmers began to destroy road radars
00:16:32at night and threatened to move columns of tractors
00:16:36directly to Paris. The crisis has also affected the USA. Amid soaring diesel
00:16:40and gasoline prices, farmers have to overload agricultural machinery and wage
00:16:43a tough struggle for every liter of fuel in
00:16:45the fields. Yulia Konstantinovna, as an
00:16:49economic expert, how do you
00:16:52see the next agricultural season in
00:16:55the world, in Europe, in particular, given
00:16:58this factor, which obviously has, well,
00:17:02a very protracted consequence,
00:17:04this is the Strait of Hormuz, we have already been told.
00:17:15which, when shelled, become unusable,
00:17:19and to repair them, you need to invest money, and for that tanker
00:17:22to go, it needs to be filled with fuel, the same
00:17:25fuel that will carry it. So everything that
00:17:29contributes to the transportation of oil, from which all
00:17:32resources will then be extracted, is becoming more expensive. At the end of the chain,
00:17:36all this is reflected in the
00:17:39price.
00:17:43But besides that, all the fertilizers, all the
00:17:47means and resources that will not reach agricultural
00:17:50enterprises, will lead to the fact that there was no sowing, no
00:17:53harvesting, and there will be no next sowing, no
00:17:56modernization, no development, no replacement of equipment, no
00:18:00selection of new materials, new
00:18:03seeds, new meat and dairy products.
00:18:08Nothing new will happen. Everything is going, well,
00:18:11down, it's going away completely,
00:18:14it's collapsing, and accordingly, there is
00:18:17nothing, there will be nothing to harvest. That is, this problem will
00:18:20grow, and hunger now, and the problem with food, with prices and
00:18:24generally with the availability of food, will already affect not only African
00:19:07punishes, let's summarize all the factors that
00:19:11trigger the situation in the European food
00:19:14market, the consequence of the Strait of Hormuz,
00:19:17already mentioned, the rejection of Russian
00:19:20energy carriers, and also in the context of the US diesel deal,
00:19:24let's see how this story will develop and how much they will pay for
00:19:27fuel, which will ultimately affect the price of bread,
00:19:31and the heat that
00:19:34covered Europe this season along the way. Considering
00:19:38the trends and forecasts of meteorologists, this will be a regular
00:19:40story, apparently, for what sins has
00:19:44the European Union suffered so much? But you know, the funniest thing about
00:19:48this situation, and the saddest thing at the same time, is that
00:19:51not only external factors punish the European Union, but Brussels
00:19:54itself punishes the European Union.
00:19:57Why? Why is this happening? Because I remind you that
00:20:00there is a so-called green deal. Within this green
00:20:04deal, the farm to fork strategy
00:20:08implies additional requirements for European
00:20:11farmers, meaning they must produce quality
00:20:14products with less use of
00:20:17chemicals, hence higher quality, but at the same time
00:20:20reduce fields. It turns out that the cost
00:20:24increases, otherwise these products will not
00:20:26reach the shelves, the European Union simply will not
00:20:30accept it. Plus, there are all sorts of bureaucratic procedures,
00:20:33farmers are forced to follow this path, and
00:20:37despite all this, the funniest thing is, why are farmers striking? That's
00:20:40understandable, because Ukrainian grain,
00:20:43South American grain, goes directly,
00:20:47without these obstacles and barriers.
00:21:20Union, or rather the current leadership of the European
00:21:23Union, allows South American goods
00:21:27into the European market. This
00:21:30undermines the production
00:21:33of agricultural products in Europe, undermines prices,
00:21:36undermines the social situation of the people
00:21:40working in agriculture, and it is no
00:21:42coincidence that the next budget of the European Union
00:21:46and... the European
00:21:57Union is being discussed, because without
00:22:01the necessary support for agricultural
00:22:04producers in Hungary and Eastern European countries,
00:22:08the future of European, Hungarian agriculture
00:22:11can be written off. And in addition
00:22:14to that, the increase in prices for energy carriers, which you
00:22:18mentioned. The war on
00:22:22the territory of Ukraine, unresolved issues
00:22:25between the European Union and the Russian
00:22:28Federation, all this creates a very
00:22:31unfavorable situation. And we
00:22:35are seriously afraid for the future
00:22:37of Hungarian agriculture, and not only
00:22:40agriculture, but the preservation of the living
00:22:44standards of the majority of the Hungarian population. The thesis has been repeatedly stated in
00:22:47this studio that.
00:23:20states, newcomers, but not really newcomers
00:23:23to the EU, are simply sterilized, depriving
00:23:26them of, well, some national, historically
00:23:29established features of agricultural
00:23:32production. The already mentioned Bulgaria, let's remember in this
00:23:36sense Latvia, where once, it's true,
00:23:39the sugar industry flourished in the Baltics,
00:23:41of course. What is left of it now? Well, perhaps
00:23:45only museum exhibits. Many examples can be given
00:23:48here. Matei, who
00:23:52benefits from such a European
00:23:55unification, behind which, in reality,
00:23:59we see a terrible picture of simply
00:24:03the destruction of national features
00:24:06of agriculture, of course, with some of its
00:24:09own peculiarities, climatic, historical, in each
00:24:12state?
00:24:16We are in a phase where
00:24:20all filters are lost from imperialism,
00:24:23and we can consider, now the European Union,
00:24:27a puppet governed, especially from
00:24:29London,
00:24:32these methods of agriculture,
00:24:35that are deteriorating, are made to
00:24:39colonize and hold even
00:24:42stronger, and especially for Italy
00:24:46this is a tragedy, because our economy, our country
00:24:50has always been very tied to agriculture. More than
00:24:53half of our territory is
00:24:55in agricultural
00:24:59production, so
00:25:02this is now a vital issue for us,
00:25:05and we need to unite with all these
00:25:09forces that want to free the world from
00:25:12this domination. It won't be immediate, it won't
00:25:16be easy, but it is now already a vital issue, it seems to me.
00:25:50grapes, for example, for wine, the highest
00:25:53quality production of olive oil in
00:25:56the world and grow
00:26:00from tropical to... luxury
00:26:05sector and
00:26:06for
00:26:14global bourgeoisie little is left for the Italian
00:26:17people and there are also many cases
00:26:20of exploitation of workers,
00:26:23who are exploited for 50
00:26:26cents an hour to
00:26:29work in the fields,
00:26:32for tomatoes, for example, and there are such
00:26:35cases, of course, where also criminal organizations, well, the Italian
00:26:39mafia, also
00:26:43especially exploit all
00:26:46this production in the south, it already
00:26:50shows situations, as you rightly said, not only in
00:26:53the third world, but in Africa and so on, well,
00:26:57also here there are indeed such
00:27:00working conditions now.
00:27:41agricultural policy of Brussels, which imposed on the member states
00:27:44uniform environmental standards, quotas and unequal subsidization
00:27:47conditions. This bureaucratic dictate hit, among
00:27:51others, the Baltic countries, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Receiving significantly
00:27:54fewer direct subsidies from Brussels compared to old Europe, local
00:27:58farmers were forced to comply with all the strict requirements of the green
00:28:01transition. Coupled with the surge in energy prices, this provoked
00:28:05a mass closure of farms, which, for example, meant that domestic production in Latvia
00:28:09only met a quarter of the country's domestic food needs.
00:28:13As a result, the Baltics, from being an exporter of basic products, turned into a market
00:28:16for surplus goods from Germany and France. Meanwhile, the south
00:28:20of the continent, Spain, Italy and Greece, found themselves alone with
00:28:23a catastrophic drought. Instead of supporting the traditional breadbasket,
00:28:26the EU forcibly cut fertilizer use. Falling
00:28:30yields combined with eco-costs deprived local farmers
00:28:33of competitiveness, forcing Spain and Italy to replace their own
00:28:36production with cheap imports from North Africa. The situation
00:28:40was exacerbated by the EU-Mercosur agreement, which launched duty-free
00:28:43imports of Latin American raw materials from May 1, with a beef quota of up to
00:28:4799 thousand tons per year. Cheap meat, unencumbered
00:28:51by EU environmental taxes, brought livestock breeders in France and Belgium
00:28:54to the brink of ruin, which resulted in months of strikes
00:28:57and the blockade of Brussels. In Poland, farmers also often block borders,
00:29:01protesting against.
00:31:08currently so dedicated
00:31:12to the fight for the climate, the fight against
00:31:15the greenhouse effect, and so on, that yes, to such
00:31:18an extent that it is a kind of mainstream for
00:31:21federal media,
00:31:24for it's a kind of fashion today. It's like,
00:31:27transgenders, transgenders are fashionable, this is also fashionable
00:31:30now, so any person,
00:31:33any politician who speaks with
00:31:36criticism of such measures, automatically
00:31:39becomes a marginal and even an outcast, he is lost from
00:31:42an electoral point of view today.
00:31:46for his voters, he has no future. This is the first point.
00:31:49The second point is, let's understand, doesn't Europe
00:31:52understand what it's doing? Of course, it understands, of course, it understands, but
00:31:56why is it doing this? Because the main
00:31:59beneficiary of this situation is
00:32:03those large agro-industrial holdings that
00:32:06I started talking about today, because they came in,
00:32:10they buy fields for next to nothing from farmers
00:32:14who cannot cope with this. In
00:32:17accordance with their standards, they have a staff of lawyers, a staff of environmentalists, and so
00:32:20on. They supply products to supermarkets,
00:32:24thus occupying the market. And farmers,
00:32:27who, besides driving a tractor and working the land all their lives,
00:32:31don't know anything else, they don't have the opportunity to hire an environmentalist, a lawyer, they don't
00:32:34have the opportunity to fill out paperwork, and he
00:32:37is not ready to suffer from
00:32:40additional regulations, so of course he
00:32:43is actually forced to become bankrupt. That is, what is happening?
00:32:46Thus, European bureaucracy is putting
00:32:49European agriculture in a straitjacket.
00:32:53All. Gyula, let's scale
00:32:57this topic up. We are discussing such global
00:33:00categories, which may not
00:33:04be very important for the most ordinary
00:33:07European housewives, since we are talking about Europe. Do
00:33:11you go to the store?
00:33:14Do you know how much a bottle
00:33:17of milk, a can of sour cream,
00:33:20a loaf of bread costs in Hungary?
00:33:23How does this relate to, say, the average salary?
00:33:27Have you compared what, say, in Belarus is called
00:33:31the "borscht set" or some kind of collective image
00:33:34of a consumer basket? Has it changed in terms of
00:33:38price over the past few years, over the past 5
00:33:41years?
00:33:44Yes, food prices in Hungary
00:33:48are constantly rising. After the European
00:33:51Union joined, essentially the
00:33:54price level equalized, although
00:33:57wages are still lower, but prices
00:34:01are about the same as in Vienna or somewhere in Austria
00:34:04or in Germany. And prices
00:34:07continue, unfortunately, to rise. This is
00:34:10the first point. The second point, what you said, that
00:34:14it's very difficult to do anything against this, because
00:34:18the network
00:34:21of stores is in the hands of foreign capital, not
00:34:25Hungarian. It is precisely foreign
00:34:28capital. How to fight them? And
00:34:32we also face the problem that everything that
00:34:35was truly Hungarian is disappearing
00:34:39from stores. That is, we eat about
00:34:42the same tomatoes, and it doesn't matter if you are in
00:34:45France, Italy, or Hungary,
00:34:48the same standard tomatoes, standard
00:34:52cucumbers, standard things, and often not always
00:34:56good, high
00:34:58quality. This is already causing discontent among
00:35:02the Hungarian population, because, well, we would like
00:35:05to eat our Hungarian apples, but they are not there,
00:35:09Hungarian meat, it is also
00:35:12disappearing and...
00:35:15the expansion of opportunities for the European Union undermines
00:35:19our agriculture, because the question is not only
00:35:23about where who sells what, but for example,
00:35:27sowing materials, fertilizers that we
00:35:30buy, it now turns out that the fertilizer market
00:35:33is again occupied by foreign
00:35:35capital, and this leads to
00:35:39undermining Hungary's sovereignty both
00:35:42in an agrarian sense and in terms of certainty.
00:35:45In this context, it would even be ridiculous to mention
00:35:49the recommendation of some specialists,
00:35:52nutritionists, that you should definitely eat what
00:35:55grew within a radius of 500 km,
00:35:58a maximum of 500 km from the house you live in. In this
00:36:02sense, European agrarian unification, even contrary to these
00:36:05laws, but that's not the point, Mateo, let's
00:36:09return to another
00:36:11factor, already mentioned this season, incredible heat. In
00:36:15Italy, this season, it was
00:36:18above forty, and how
00:36:21did this affect food
00:36:23prices?
00:36:27No, it was certainly terrible, I say this
00:36:30personally, I am 40 years old, I don't
00:36:34remember, it was never this hot, many
00:36:38elderly people and people who suffered from
00:36:41heart disease or other illnesses died
00:36:45here, and
00:36:48I generally think the sale of air conditioners
00:36:52was up 100-200%
00:36:56from last year, this business made
00:36:59a lot of money, and now there are
00:37:02statistics that globally, all
00:37:05these factors are coming
00:37:08together with the heat, there's a crisis
00:37:12in energy and finance and
00:37:16so on, by 2027 we expect food prices to
00:37:19rise three times,
00:37:22so this is already a consequence
00:37:26of all these - it's even difficult
00:37:29to predict this trend,
00:37:32it's even difficult to
00:37:35imagine. This is already being felt in Italy, they
00:37:39started harvesting grapes, for
00:37:42example, in August, which is
00:37:44quite unique, they started making wine
00:37:482 months before the usual time,
00:37:52so even in the south, for example, in
00:37:55Sicily, they are starting to grow with air conditioners.
00:38:12Well, how can one not remember the famous story during
00:38:15the heatwave, when, respect to
00:38:18Brussels for this, the famous building in the center
00:38:22of the Belgian capital, where the European Commission's
00:38:25office is located, in solidarity, turned
00:38:28off its air conditioners,
00:38:31a beautiful, elegant step, though not on all
00:38:34floors, where Ursula von der Leyen's
00:38:37office is located, the air conditioners
00:38:40on that day when it was
00:38:43over 40
00:39:14today resembles military technology, and not,
00:39:17not technology that contributes to, well,
00:39:21eliminating the food
00:39:58to large Western capital, which will then use it for
00:40:01its own purposes. Well, looking at this picture, I would like
00:40:05to remind esteemed European
00:40:09politicians that
00:40:11ambitions are a fickle thing, but
00:40:14European citizens always
00:40:17want to eat.

00:55:35the country is moving to a fundamentally new level of professional
00:55:38training. BNTU, in cooperation with BelAZ, has launched
00:55:41super high-tech laboratories. Now students
00:55:44will operate dump trucks directly from the classroom, creating
00:55:47projects that will be embodied in metal on the conveyor belt. Non-standard

00:55:59The event was timed to coincide with the ninety-fifth anniversary of the Republican
