00:00:04of these startups will be giving 12, each
00:00:06of these
00:00:06of 12 selected startups will be giving
00:00:08$10000 each
00:00:11of them each
00:00:12of them, $10000,
00:00:15$100, equity
00:00:16of investment
00:00:17of at 7.5%, and that's not all, at the end of this program they have
00:00:21the ability to also move for up to
00:00:23250,000 full-up
00:00:26investment, okay, and then what's the difference?
00:00:30I know that we talked about the founders lab which
00:00:34we we featured on the program and this one is the growth lab so what's the
00:00:37difference uh who
00:00:42lab like we've talked about
00:00:44of from this from the start deals with you incubating
00:00:48of ideas right towards building an MVP that's what the founder's lab deals with so
00:00:52you're an individual you have an idea you are thinking about it you
00:00:56haven't done you're doing some work but you need support to get.
00:01:00to developing a product right, that's the founder's lab and the growth lab
00:01:04is the next level which is sort of accelerating, so after you have started you need to
00:01:08grow, absolutely, absolutely, and that's where you begin to seek
00:01:12for funding, seek for you know
00:01:15mentorship and also validating the minimum viable
00:01:19product, does it matter the number of years of existence before you can get the
00:01:23growth lab, is that to taking for the
00:01:25growth, 12 months, at least 12 months in
00:01:28business, yeah we expect
00:01:30of that by that time you've developed your MVP and you're looking
00:01:34to now skill and that's where all of this funding would would take
00:01:38place and on the growth lab just to add to what mentioned so there are two
00:01:42courts right we expect that the plan is for us to get
00:01:4624 uh entrepreneurs coming out
00:01:49of the growth club from the two courts the 12 per court two
00:01:53courts um and for the growth for the finders lab which
00:01:56you know it's as closed now we expect to to support
00:02:00500 uh entrepreneurs from that process and also feed
00:02:03into the the

00:09:54welcome back to watching business morning here on channel's television and we're staying
00:09:58on um well entrepreneurship building entrepreneurs in the
00:10:01country, an individual has also been um
00:10:05working in this space and we've heard stories of how she tries
00:10:09empower individuals and youths when it comes to...
00:10:12entrepreneurship and she has introduced to us a word
00:10:16called problem preneur, i don't
00:10:19discuss that now, and that's Dr. Princess again, she's the
00:10:23founder and group chief executive. officer of
00:10:26GMYT Group Limited um uh Dr.
00:10:30Gen this problem preneur word please
00:10:34help us to pronounce it and help us to understand
00:10:37it. Good morning, good morning
00:10:41everyone. So yeah, I mean you pronounced it right to the problem
00:10:44preneur instead of entrepreneurship, so the
00:10:48problempreneur, that's
00:10:50it. Okay, so what's it about and what are we supposed who is supposed to be a
00:10:54problem? Yeah, um, everyone,
00:10:58actually, you know, so it's time for us
00:11:01to stop accing what
00:11:05business where to start next, or what business
00:11:08should we venture into, or, you know, we should just should
00:11:12start thinking about what problems we should solve
00:11:16in the society,
00:11:17you know, and so for me, I'm looking at my
00:11:21journey, I'm just thinking, this has always been a part.
00:11:25that
00:11:25you know have always choosen, so all the
00:11:29businesses that I have today is solving, identifying a problem
00:11:33and then solving one problem a
00:11:36time right, that is been driving
00:11:39solutions for the society, and that is why we have the
00:11:43business we have today, so looking at that, the several businesses
00:11:47I have, I decided okay so what name will I call this, because this is not just
00:11:50entrepreneurship, this is really solving problems, so and I think that was
00:11:54what better the idea, the problem pr, so everybody should, if you're a
00:11:58student, if you're a genitor,
00:12:00you just do your job well, look at the problems that the organization you know is
00:12:04facing or
00:12:04whatever place of work you are
00:12:07or you know whatever you are doing,
00:12:09just instead of complaining you
00:12:10know that um we're not we're not getting it
00:12:14easier, we're not having it easy in the society, we should just look at how to solve
00:12:18problems, so that's that's what the problem pr is about, all right, so
00:12:22please um, i know lot of people are watching this program
00:12:25now and uh you have uh, you, I mean, you interact with a whole lot
00:12:29of people, so assuming you're talking to a youth for
00:12:33instance now, and you're telling the youth this that you have
00:12:36said, what are those specific areas that you think a youth
00:12:40can possibly dive into -
00:12:44realistically, when you look at the Nigerian operating environment, you look
00:12:47at the issue of technology, you look at the issue of
00:12:50funding, what area do you think a youth can just say, oh
00:12:55okay, i don't want to complain anymore, i don't want to wait for jobs
00:12:58anymore, i want to be a problem preneur, what
00:13:02area do you think and how do you think that you can actually start
00:13:06out? the lots, mean it's
00:13:09unlimited, we are in the digital age now, so AI
00:13:13is actually one tool that the youth can use instead of just
00:13:17you know being on social media for for fun,
00:13:21they can actually use that to probably help some business owners.
00:13:25um tell their stories, reposition,
00:13:27you know, um, their businesses, put their businesses in the in the
00:13:31spotlight, you use India, of course the tools, the social media
00:13:34tools and also, I mean a lot of problems that they can also
00:13:38help solve, like um, you know, again telling the
00:13:42stories, so imagine if I have a content
00:13:46creator in my organization, that that's that's solving problem for me, because
00:13:50I wouldn't have to worry about you know um people getting to know what
00:13:54I do, so yes, they should instead of just staying in your house
00:13:57or just playing on social media, reach out to companies and then say, oh, i can
00:14:01tell your stories right, i can help you position your product or your services
00:14:05and before you know it, mean if you're solving my problem i will pay for the
00:14:09service, so that mean there's a lot, that's just one, but there's actually
00:14:12lot, skill, you know, learning skill, so trading
00:14:16talent, um, so if you for instance we have the fashion
00:14:19academy, so if you can of course instead of just
00:14:23complaining decide that you want come be faculty
00:14:26after
00:14:27you know learning the fashion um education then yes it means
00:14:31that you're helping solve a problem and then you be paid of course for your service as well
00:14:35there's actually so much to do yeah so I guess it's all about creating
00:14:39value are looking for that nee and creating value and then
00:14:42um
00:14:43you can you get paid for it obviously get paid for yeah
00:14:47instead of also coming to work and just you know being idle but ensuring
00:14:51that in your workplace you're constantly looking for the challenges that you're gna
00:14:55organization is facing and putting your strength
00:14:59forward to say, i can help solve this problem, you know, i
00:15:03think that would also help you not just get promotion but also get even more
00:15:06income, so there's there's like lot of opportunities, i
00:15:10see opportunities and challenges right, embrace challenges
00:15:14actually, because mean if we in our comfort zone you see
00:15:17that we won't we won't make money, we won't even
00:15:20grow right, but when we're constantly looking
00:15:25for growth was constantly looking for opportunities and
00:15:28especially the um the ability to identify
00:15:32problems and then create solution, solution that is
00:15:36deserving of you, people puting their hand in their pocket to say okay, i want to
00:15:39pay for this solution,
00:15:41then i mean you see that our society will become a better
00:15:45place. all right, dr. princess, thank you so much for those
00:15:48tips, i would challenge myself, i would do more in my
00:15:51organization, not just for promotion, founder and group
00:15:55chief executive officer of GMyt group limited, thank you for your
00:15:58time, yeah, thank you, all
00:16:02right, we'll go for just a short commercial break and then we'll go
00:16:05global
00:16:58the global econ the UK economy is showing first signs
00:17:02of resilience, activity in the country's dominant services
00:17:06sectors accelerated to the month high um easing
00:17:09concerns over slowing growth and boosting confidence and the
00:17:13economic outlook. let's unpack this now and other matters. join me now
00:17:17is Simon Pusy, our london correspondent. great to have you, Simon, good
00:17:21morning.
00:17:25all right, so um, Simon, we see the UK services sector has rebounded to
00:17:29a three-month high. is this the beginning of a broader economic um
00:17:33recovery or just a temporary improvement?
00:17:40Okay, I see a mount moving, I think you have to
00:17:42unmute.
00:17:48Okay, all right, Simon, you have to unmute, I see your mouth
00:17:52moving, but we'll try that again, but definitely let's look at the data
00:17:55now, um, showing you the resilience there in the UK
00:17:59economy, see uh services PMI that came in at
00:18:0252.1, points, previous was
00:18:0548.8, that was in... traction zone uh the flash
00:18:09estimate was at 51.8 and we see anything above the 50 point
00:18:13level that's um you know signaling you know
00:18:16expansion um right there let's try and get simon now
00:18:19all right simon can you hear me now yes sorry about that you introduce me
00:18:23there is your London correspondent um I'm actually here in Ulayapol which is
00:18:27a fishing port village there inveness and it's quite fitting
00:18:31as this village um is one of many that are part the UK services
00:18:34sector that's restaurants hotels and um and that's
00:18:38fitting because as you said the services purchasing purchasing managers index or the
00:18:42PMI which is a survey that manages business activity
00:18:46measures business activity in the UK services sector um well
00:18:49that's gone up very very strongly it
00:18:52was it's positive news really for the prime minister um and a
00:18:56stronger services sector can have wide ranging effects um it can help
00:19:00economic growth since services dominate the UK economy it's around
00:19:0380% the UK economy that means a stronger activity
00:19:07raising the likelihood of positive GDP, um, employment, businesses experiencing
00:19:11higher demand and interest rates, if growth strengthens, while
00:19:15interest rates continue to ease, the Bank of England may have more
00:19:18flexibility in its future rate decisions, so is this enough to say that the
00:19:22UK economy is booming, not necessarily, but
00:19:25it is some good news for um, like I said the prime minister, the new prime
00:19:28minister, even though it's really the last prime minister and his chancelor who
00:19:32is responsible for it. All right, it looks like the data is aligning
00:19:36well, for him, but let's... switched to currency now
00:19:39we see the sterling that strengthed against the um Japanese um
00:19:42yen you know following the latest data, what is this tell us about
00:19:46you know investors sentiments towards the UK economy and the Bank of
00:19:50England's policy outlook? yeah, well it's a combination of
00:19:54factors here, as we just heard PMI figures were better than
00:19:57expected, when economic data beats expectations, traders often
00:20:01become more willing to buy a country's currency because the economy may grow faster
00:20:05and company earnings may improve. the second factor is that the pound
00:20:09rose most against the yen against other currencies, the Japanese yen has been
00:20:13volatile recently because investors remain uncertain about future Bank of
00:20:17Japan policy, officials have intervened in currency markets in recent
00:20:21weeks to support the yen, so two different factors really that
00:20:25combined to make um the pound stronger against the yen
00:20:28there. All right, let's um look at real estate in the
00:20:32UK, now I will see the the UK has emerged
00:20:35as Europe's top destiny. nation for real estate uh
00:20:39capital there we see the investment volume 23
00:20:43billion pounds year-on-year change about dropped about
00:20:468% but European ranking number one destination. for real
00:20:50estate um capital. tell us, what what
00:20:54does this say about the economy? yeah, so that
00:20:58headline comes from the CBRE's mid-year 2026
00:21:02UK real estate market outlook, which has found that the UK remains the
00:21:06largest destination for real estate investment in Europe during the
00:21:10first half of 2026, that is, this is significant because international
00:21:14investors have become much more selective over the past two years due to higher
00:21:18interest rates and economic uncertainty. According to CBRE, the UK
00:21:21attracted more commercial real estate investment than any other European country in the
00:21:25first six months of this year. Investment activity picked up as
00:21:29buyers became more confident that interest rates are nearing their peak, and
00:21:33London continued to be one the world's most attractive cities for global property
00:21:36investors, while regional the UK cities also saw increased
00:21:40interest. There are several factors that are working in the UK's factor here um favor
00:21:44here um the attractive valuations commercial property prices have fallen from their
00:21:482022 peaks after. higher interest rates, pushed valuations
00:21:52lower. Many investors now believe UK assets offer good long-term
00:21:55value, stable legal and financial system, so the international pension funds,
00:21:59sovereign wealth funds and insurance companies value the UK's stable,
00:22:03legal and financial system, and finally, the improving economic
00:22:06outlook. Recent data, as I said earlier, including the stronger
00:22:10UK services, the PMI that we discussed earlier, that suggests the
00:22:13economy is regaining momentum overall, so it's a rosy picture
00:22:17really for the new incoming uh prime minister. Andy Burnham, some better
00:22:21than expected figures, meaning he can claim at least that the country is on the right
00:22:25track, even though deep down, Mr. Burnham will know he's not
00:22:28responsible for it, that was the previous Prime Minister and his previous chancellor, but
00:22:32still it's a nice place for him to be, yeah, nice place for him to be, thank
00:22:36you so much, Simon, thank you, thank you, all right,
00:22:40let's get a check on earnings, now we've seen more rolling Nintendo, the kicked
00:22:44off the financial year a strong note, delivering first quarter
00:22:47profit that comfortably beat um market expectations as
00:22:51demand for its switch to gaming console that empowered the
00:22:55earnings um there so you see for uh the Q1 that full year
00:22:58profit operating profit 142.6 billion yen
00:23:02year on year growth 150% annalist
00:23:06estimate was about 70.3 so they beat that uh the the
00:23:10beat versus estimates about 103%. let's look at the switch
00:23:14to uh sales now nintendo switch um for the
00:23:17quarter 3.82 million units was sold. uh the sales
00:23:21target 16.5 million that's what they're looking at the software
00:23:25target 60 million um units that
00:23:27sales are looking forward to um that's for the switch two they will
00:23:31definitely keep tracking down for the gamers - then we see electronic arts they've
00:23:35delivered the stronger than expected starts uh also to its fiscal year
00:23:39beating again uh wall street expectations earnings per
00:23:43share uh $56 um and estimates was about
00:23:4682 cents the beats there was about 74 cents more
00:23:50revenue 1.99 billion dollars revenue estimate was
00:23:541.48 so they beat that uh so we see um a big beat there
00:23:58510 million dollars up about
00:24:0134% um so far so we see gamers are still
00:24:04gaming uh at this point all right let's look at other matters now we
00:24:07see modena that's in pharmaceutical they've reached a major milestone in vaccine
00:24:11innovation after secur securing a US FDA
00:24:15approval for the world's first MRNA based
00:24:18seasonal Influenza. vaccine, the shot known as
00:24:22M. Flusiva is approved for adults age 50 and older, is
00:24:25expected to be available ahead the 2026, 2027 flu
00:24:29season. The approval expands Moderna's portfolio beyond COVID-19
00:24:33vaccines and strengthen its long-term growth strategy as
00:24:37it looks to diversify revenue. The company also, seeking
00:24:41approvals in Europe, Canada and Australia, underscoring its
00:24:45ambitions to reshape uh the global flu vaccine
00:24:48market. and we see attention on wall street today turns
00:24:52to the US labor market uh with weekly initial jobless claims
00:24:56taking center stage um today uh for economists
00:24:59expect first time unemployment claims to edge up to
00:25:032030 from 197 a previous week
00:25:07while continuing claims are also forecast um to rise slightly investors
00:25:11will also be watching uh productivity and unit labor cost data
00:25:15alongside comments uh from the federal reserves officials for fresh
00:25:18clues on the strength of the US economy and the likely path of
00:25:22interest rates ahead of Friday's closely watch jobs
00:25:25report and that's in globally call me it's back
00:25:28to
00:25:36me thank you lady and now - the market just before we leave we
00:25:40see um the green color being retained in the market but it's so
00:25:43sl0.03% is what the all share is at um and
00:25:47still 244,900
00:25:506.94 and we see stock such as um
00:25:54trans nationwide express driving that prestige
00:25:58also positive Airtel Africa is positive almost
00:26:017% up. early trade universal insurance plc
00:26:05also positive uh, but you get
00:26:08uh uh updated numbers at 1:30 during business incorporated

00:30:14Good morning and welcome to our millions of viewers here in Nigeria, the continent

00:30:46provide early seismic updates for
00:30:49continuous assessment. The minister was responding to an
00:30:53alert by the NGSA reporting the tremor
00:30:57shock several or shook rather several buildings.
