00:04:43they have a state own security
00:04:46of outfit, of you have the amoteku in the southwest and you have maybe
00:04:49operation rainbow states,
00:04:52of now if operation is skid into this, it means that
00:04:56of once there's an
00:04:57of attack somewhere between state. once the person double
00:05:01taps, operational rainbow will get the information as
00:05:05to where the person is or where the action is taking place, so within
00:05:09of please second the security agencies or other agencies. we get

00:08:51recent reports which identified at least 29 deaths in five
00:08:54mining accidents and 13 deaths in four attacks on mining
00:08:58sigh across the country in the past three months. in
00:09:02Niger state, 37 suspected illegal miners also
00:09:06died in the custody the Nanduran Security and civil defense
00:09:09core, although the cost the dead is yet will be
00:09:12conclusively
00:09:13established, to
00:09:17address these concerns, the plateau state commissioner for environment,
00:09:21climate change and solid minerals alongside mining experts
00:09:24visited some mining sit in just south local government area to
00:09:28inspect operations and interact with artisanal
00:09:31miners, we see how we should coordinate all these local
00:09:35miners so that we will uh prevent what happen
00:09:39in Niger state
00:09:40and then
00:09:41kby state and also the accident happened within Basa uh bark and
00:09:45ladi and boss the accident and then the the bandit
00:09:49th as well too so if we don't senrgize with those local artisan miners there is
00:09:53no how we understand what is going on the government want to take charge
00:09:56their artisanship these mining people these mining
00:10:00operations are done in localities whereby it affects the
00:10:04people the states so when we have this synergy and cooperation
00:10:07definitely is going to be a win
00:10:09situation. "the
00:10:13miners also highlights the support they need from the government to improve
00:10:17their operations, we are not finding it easy, it is
00:10:21so difficult and later on you not see what"
00:10:25you gain or
00:10:26you just have a small change, which is not
00:10:30helpful. with the government being involved, maybe
00:10:34we reduce the risk of uh the accidents
00:10:38in the mining sites. as a government moves to bring
00:10:41miners into a more organized framework, the expectation is that with
00:10:45stronger regulations, proper monitoring and continuous engagement,
00:10:49mining will become safer and further prevent loss of

00:15:09Welcome back, the Zamfara state government has defended a
00:15:13statement by governor Dalda Lawhile that his administration
00:15:16has executed projects worth 20 billion naira
00:15:20each the 14 local government areas the state. The state
00:15:24accountant general Mr.
00:15:26Ali. Bungudu disclosed this during the budget
00:15:30performance and accountability meeting to review revenue
00:15:33generation, expenditure and the implementation of.
00:15:37projects under the state's 2025 fiscal year. he
00:15:41noted that all the projects were affected in the budget, adding
00:15:45that 72% the budget was airmarked for capital
00:15:49expenditure, while the remaining 28% was allocated
00:15:53to recurrent expenditure. among the projects
00:15:56identified include road infrastructure, school
00:15:59projects and other medical research center, smart city,
00:16:03food production initiatives, hospitals, because all inter
00:16:07national conference center and the gosol international sports
00:16:11center,
00:16:17a state like this or in every state you try to see, you make
00:16:21sure you spread projects across
00:16:25uh the 14 local governments we have, now we started
00:16:28with what we call the urban uh
00:16:32renewal which is centered around the state capital, when
00:16:36you come your state capital. should be
00:16:39intact then this so when we started like last year there
00:16:43was a lot of push from local government that are
00:16:47the governor the governor and government are only working in gusou we said
00:16:51yes we are not only working in gusou but we agree of
00:16:55concentrated much effort in gooso and that is
00:16:59just to make the capital city over
00:17:02renewal a reality we have done that in
00:17:052025 in 2020 26 lot of projects were pushed
00:17:09outside the state capital
00:17:12from
00:17:15namoda to gumi to mafara
00:17:19to bakura every local government like i mentioned during
00:17:23my speech my boss the executive governor mentioned that there is no
00:17:27local government that he has not done project almost 20 billion and
00:17:30i want to tell people i have records only state
00:17:34funds apart from works that are being done at local government
00:17:37level,
00:17:42the registr and chief executive officer the teachers
00:17:46registration council of Nigeria, Dr. Runke Shompo,
00:17:50has emphasized that empowering teachers through continuous professional
00:17:54development is critical priority that requires urgent
00:17:57attention to improve the quality of Nigeria's education
00:18:01sector. In addition to teacher development, Dr.
00:18:04Shoyanvo underscored the urgent need to to strengthen
00:18:08quality assurance systems and invest in leadership training
00:18:11across the sector, drawing on successful educational
00:18:15models such as England's office for standards in
00:18:19education, she stressed that highly competent and well trained
00:18:22quality assurance officers are essential to driving meaningful
00:18:26school improvement, fostering accountability and supporting
00:18:30educational
00:18:31excellence.
00:18:36I think uh... "empowering teachers is a core
00:18:40area that everybody has got to look at, because I must
00:18:44say um in the past people have done a lot on infrastructure,
00:18:48renovations of schools, um, getting resources, if I
00:18:52use ok, I don't know if you remember that there was a particular exercise where we
00:18:56use oppo, but teachers were not carried along, and that was
00:19:00what failed that system, so there's a need for us to be
00:19:04very, very intentional with mandatory cont'.
00:19:07professional development for all our teachers, another thing
00:19:11is quality assurance should be given enough attention, we
00:19:15need to have good practitioners, exemplary officers,
00:19:19because who is going to lead your quality assurance, it matters, because
00:19:22what transformed education in England is all about quality assurance
00:19:26offsted, offstead is coming to your school, you don't mess up, they know what they're
00:19:30looking for, they're not looking for money, they're looking for how they can
00:19:34actually partner with you and move education better, another thing
00:19:38will be number three will be for me will be leadership and
00:19:41management, because if we improve teachers across board in
00:19:45Nigeria, if we don't improve our school leaders, then we have
00:19:48missed it. um, school leaders must be
00:19:52trained, um, they must be specially trained
00:19:55to lead our schools. I'm talking of principals,
00:19:59I'm talking of school head teachers, I'm talking of even
00:20:02proprieters,

00:21:19reveals that. subnational leaders in Nigeria are adopting key
00:21:23lessons from Ethiopia's successful serkota declaration to
00:21:27overhaul Nigers approach to child growth and public
00:21:30health. We collectively commit to number
00:21:33one, declaration of nutrition as

00:21:56the nutrition compact. under the new deal, state and

00:22:07is already preparing to roll out immediate targeted action
00:22:11beginning with two pilot states carrying the highest burden of
00:22:15stunting before expanding nationwide. we will
00:22:18define with the states what are the clear objectives
00:22:22for reduction of stunting and begin with the

00:22:33resources, health and social welfare as well as agriculture and
00:22:37other relevant ministries will go on the ground to the
00:22:40state, sit with the executive governor, sit with the steam
00:22:44to identify what are the sectoral priorities that
00:22:48would help to achieve. the agreed objectives
00:22:51in stunting, few
00:22:55points, focus, multi-sectoral
00:22:59action, clear road
00:23:01map that is
00:23:03implementable, performance matrices and
00:23:07accountability, if we do that, we will bend the needle, we will shift the
00:23:11needle, we will move the needle on nutrition. Ethiopian government
00:23:15pledges technical support to Nigeria, describing the partnership
00:23:18between the two countries. in the area of nutrition as a benchmark for
00:23:22intra-african collaboration. we look forward to work with you
00:23:26and to support you, be technically or anything that is
