00:08:53of phase two of the Chennai Metro Rail project covering
00:08:5614.64 km from Poonamallee Bypass to
00:08:59Vadapalani has been inaugurated today
00:09:03and about 104 kilometers of Metro Rail
00:09:05network under phase two is currently under
00:09:08construction. I take this opportunity to request
00:09:12that phase three of the Chennai Metro Rail project covering
00:09:15approximately 65 km from Airport to
00:09:19Kilambakkam, Poonamallee to Sunguwar Chatram and
00:09:22Koyambedu to Pattabiram be approved early to improve
00:09:26connectivity, strengthen public transport and ensure
00:09:31the Chennai Metropolitan area. Similarly, I
00:09:35request Honorable Prime Minister to
00:09:37reconsider the proposal of construction of Metro
00:09:40Rail in Coimbatore and Madurai cities in view of the
00:09:44future development
00:09:48the western and southern part of Tamil Nadu. I also
00:09:52take this opportunity to request to give
00:09:55approval for inter-state Metro Rail
00:09:58line from Hosur in Tamil Nadu to Bommasandra in
00:10:01Karnataka for the benefit of both the states. I would like to
00:10:05thank the honorable Prime Minister for announcing two high
00:10:09speed rail corridors between Bengaluru and
00:10:13Hyderabad and Chennai in the union
00:10:16budget 2026. These projects will surely
00:10:19benefit this region. We have already made a request to
00:10:23government of India for sanctions. of high speed rail corridor from Chennai
00:10:27to Kanyakumari and Chennai to Coimbatore to better serve
00:10:31Tamil Nadu. This will also benefit tourism sector.
00:10:35Further, I wish to highlight few important infrastructure
00:10:38projects for sanction by the government of India a priority
00:10:42basis. These include the six-laning of the Chengalpattu
00:10:45Trichy section of GST road NH32, the
00:10:49sixth-laning of the Trichy, Panchapur, Jayapuram Karur
00:10:52section of NH 81. the sixth-laning of the Karur
00:10:56Coimbatore section and the elevated corridor from Madhavaram
00:11:00to Sholavaram on NH 87. Timely
00:11:05these projects will greatly
00:11:09the nation. I also take this opportunity to place few more
00:11:13requests to the honorable Prime Minister.
00:11:16Interlinking of rivers is essential
00:11:20to bring water equity across the states. Godavari Kaveri
00:11:24Linkage Project. represents important opportunity for
00:11:28augmenting water resources in southern
00:11:31states. I request the government of India to accord
00:11:34priority and take it up as national
00:11:37project. The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly has recently
00:11:41passed a resolution seeking the use of Tamil as the principal
00:11:45language in the proceedings of the honorable High Court of
00:11:48Madras. The proposal has been sent for seeking
00:11:51consent of honorable president. The same may be considered
00:12:38development projects worth Rs 13,000 crore will be
00:12:42launched and inaugurated by our Honorable Prime
00:12:45Minister, and dedicated to the nation. These include
00:12:48the elevated corridor of Chennai Metro Project Phase II
00:12:52and new Amrit Bharat Railway Stations, among others.
00:13:55the railway line, rail flyovers,
00:13:59IIT Madras's SG Brain Atlas and 100
00:14:02Human Brains Mission scheme and various projects across the state
00:14:06accompanied by a video showcasing these projects.
00:14:09Together, these initiatives amount to a grand total of
00:14:131300 crores. May we humbly request the honorable prime
00:14:17minister to digitally unveil the
00:14:19projects.

00:17:36This stretch. has been developed a cost of nearly rupees
00:17:404,900 crore. the corridor includes a
00:17:433.7 km double decker stretch, bringing people,
00:17:47workplaces, industries and emerging growth centers closer
00:17:50together.
00:17:55in Madurai, the 30 km ring road eases urban
00:17:58congestion and reduces a 45 minute journey to just
00:18:0220 minutes. the 36 km upgrade in
00:18:05Virudhunagar cuts travel time. from two hours to one,
00:18:09strengthening connectivity industrial, tourism and
00:18:13pilgrimage

00:18:19Kamarajar Port's new coal berth, Chennai Port's modern
00:18:22XM godowns and upgraded cruise terminal and green
