00:09:28Britain, if you had to sum up or just pick your main
00:09:32thing, what do you love about this nation? I love the
00:09:35community, uh, pubs, fish and chips, I
00:09:38just love old people, um,
00:09:42going out and about and everyone getting on and I feel we're
00:09:46losing that so I don't want to bring that discussion down, we must
00:09:49protect our pubs, our heritage, our culture and go
00:09:53forward, there's a reason we're called Great Britain and we
00:09:57was renowned around the world for being strong community led
00:10:01people, passionate people, and I just don't want to lose that, so
00:10:05you know I want to celebrate being British, but I want to protect it as
00:10:08well, um, if Andy Bernam was sitting here raising. glass
00:10:12with us, he would say to you, I'm doing lot to try and help pubs
00:10:16adam, he would say, pub is at the heart of
00:10:20of him as well, he would say that he feels like he's making positive steps when it comes to
00:10:24pubs. No, so you cannot take a load away
00:10:28from pubs and then give a little bit back and expect publicans like me to
00:10:32stand up and cheer you on, that doesn't, it doesn't work like that. Rachel
00:10:35Reeves first two budgets cost my small back street pub
00:10:3930,000 pound year extra in costs, I'm just a
00:10:42small little pub. Now when they want to give us back maybe two or 3,00
00:10:46pound year for a discount in business rates, that's an insol,
00:10:50especially when my business rates have gone up 50% this year
00:10:54so... they can't go up 50% and then you give me 20% off and expect me
00:10:58to shake your hand and you know uh blow smoke up your
00:11:01backside, that's not going to happen, it's a PR move, it
00:11:05basically saves the average pub about fiver a day,
00:11:09so the headlines might be great, michelle, but they know they're
00:11:12calculated that it's going to go down, they can claim the saving pubs
00:11:16when they're really not. Aron bastani, what do you love about this
00:11:20great nation? so much uh, the history, the literature,
00:11:23the people, what Adam said about people? people's friendliness, second to none, the makerfield by
00:11:27election recently, if you got a wigan that part of greater
00:11:30Manchester, everybody had smile on their face, everybody was
00:11:34willing to talk, really extraordinary, but I think above
00:11:37all for anyway, as somebody who lives in the south is the countryside, the
00:11:41new forest, the rivers, the river Hey, the welsh
00:11:45borders, honestly a sunny
00:11:47day around the river Hay and around the southwest
00:11:51of England, heaven on earth, I think you is, really
00:11:55interesting point actually, because we do have beautiful,
00:11:59beautiful uh areas in this country uh, and it is just
00:12:03the great outdoors. i think being out and about obviously you got to take
00:12:07the uh British weather sometimes with a pinch of salt, but that is sometimes the fun of it
00:12:11as well. uh, i'm a camper, i absolutely love camping, and one the
00:12:15things that i absolutely love about Britain is being a
00:12:19tent, being a field where you can't really hear
00:12:22anything other than birds. you're always working up,
00:12:26there's always one camper,
00:12:27always anyone that goes camping, you know what I mean, maybe you are that individual, there's always one person
00:12:31that wakes up, stupidly early in the morning, and that's when the whole campsite
00:12:35wakes up, and then there's always someone at the other side the fence uh who is up
00:12:39very, very late at night and that's the time that the rest the campers go to sleep, but
00:12:43that's when I kind of sit there and I think what a beautiful country, peaceful,
00:12:47quiet, calm, safe, and I saw
00:12:50um story in the press the other day actually about play
00:12:54streets. "and what they were triling was closing a
00:12:58street and letting children just play in the street and I saw it's really
00:13:02divided opinion, but actually that sense that children can be out on
00:13:06the street, you can be playing, I mean let's be honest, some streets are
00:13:10not as safe as others, let's not beat around the bush uh on that
00:13:13one, but it is a good place to raise children, I mean we've
00:13:17all got children actually, yeah I I see some it on Instagram the
00:13:21other day which was like, would you swap your life to go back to..."
00:13:25how it was in the 80s and 90s and that is a bit of romantic dream and I
00:13:29think maybe lot of people watching this right now look back to that sort
00:13:33of era with like romantical sort of uh view
00:13:37the world because I remember going out not telling my mom that
00:13:41where I was going on my BMX I would go for miles and I would
00:13:45be safe I would be around the estate where I grew up and there was
00:13:49mobile phones to check in uh we lived in the pub at the
00:13:52time and I look back at that time and think... 'we was all right, there wasn't that
00:13:56many threats to us, our kids safety at the time,
00:14:00and look, I do look back and think, I wish we could take
00:14:03certain parts from our past, not too distant past as
00:14:07well, so maybe the 90s and sort of bring that back, so kids are
00:14:11allowed to play on the streets and be safe uh, not
00:14:15stuck on their their devices all the time, but I just don't think
00:14:18unfortunately the way the world's gone, we're going to see that again, so I I almost see
00:14:22now that we lived in a probably the last
00:14:26great time
00:14:27you know as kids, us, I think we're
00:14:28all roughly the same age uh, so I do get a little bit sort of depressed
00:14:32sometimes when I look at some these retro accounts on Instagram
00:14:36and remember what it was like for us and now what it is for kids, but I
00:14:40think
00:14:41you know if you're a community just look after the kids, I don't think people are
00:14:45looking out for each other anymore, so divided, um,
00:14:49so look, yeah, that's what I would like to see, communities coming back,
00:14:53kids playing on the streets, one of my viewers
00:14:56JC, he says one the things that I love about was
00:15:00Brits, the best sense of humor uh, he says, I
00:15:03think I agree with that, I like sarcasm, I think that
00:15:07sarcasm, some people will say it's the lowest form of wit, I think
00:15:11sarcasm, dry humor, all that kind of stuff, I think it's
00:15:14hilarious, yeah, that's a nice British trade, I think that's true, I had a
00:15:17colleague the other day, they've had blurry vision, it turned out there's nothing particularly
00:15:21wrong with them, and they said I'm going for an MRI scan, and another colleague said 'I hope they find a
00:15:25brain, there's not many places where that kind of intuitive wit, come
00:15:29comes to fall, nobody's getting offended, generally speaking, uh, I think
00:15:33you're right, that's a really nice piece of culture, of course he'.
00:15:37did they find a media? they did just about just about, it took a while
00:15:41uh, caroline, she's got in touch and said, i absolutely agree, i love the
00:15:45british uh countryside, she loves the country layoners, all the quint
00:15:49villages, she says, uh, fish and chips,

00:15:53day, she says, uh, our beaches and our curse lines, and she also
00:15:56loves camping in our tent, alfie
00:16:00says, what makes this uh nation so great, our
00:16:04history, he says, is fascinating, sure we flawed
00:16:07messy, but we're absolutely fascinating and of course uh,
00:16:11remarkably well documented, he says, uh,
00:16:15cheers jube says Pauline, I'm going to raise a glass and a flag
00:16:19to jb, hey, Pauline, um, whenever my son is five, whenever
00:16:23he sees the Union Jack flag, always, without fail always,
00:16:26he says, mommy, mommy, mommy, look, it's the GB News flag, he actually
00:16:30genuinely believes - the union jack flag, because he watches mommy
00:16:34and all the rest of it, and we proudly celebrate our nation. flag proudly
00:16:38so uh yeah, he thinks that that is the uh channel's flag, I
00:16:42take that, I take that with the sense of pride, yeah I do, I think it's really nice
00:16:46uh, anyway, look, many people um will sit there and say, do
00:16:50you know what we need to do in this nation, we need to talk ourselves up a little bit
00:16:53more, we need to celebrate our successes a little bit more, do you
00:16:57agree with that, over in America of course across the pond, they are what many people
00:17:01call the American dream, do we need a little bit of that here in the UK,

00:21:50still keep going, she says, yes we do, and you are
00:21:54of course in America all the time, fantastic program, if you've not
00:21:58checked out, you've been missing out, one the things though, bev that people talk
00:22:02about often in America is the American dream, the
00:22:06positive attitude, the can do and all the rest of it,
00:22:10many people would like to see some of that picked up and brought here as
00:22:13well, I think about that lot actually when I'm in DC, the
00:22:17way that people respond to success really... what we're talking about, isn't it? the
00:22:21idea, can you achieve success? can you better yourself in life? and when you
00:22:25do, how do people treat you? i think
00:22:27what i've noticed is in America when people are successful and they've done well,
00:22:31they get congratulated for it. there's very rarely
00:22:35resentment or jealousy or animosity, and i feel like in this country
00:22:38sometimes if people do do well, there can be a sense of, well why
00:22:42haven't i got that, why i the victim of this culture, why have you got that? and i
00:22:46think that's
00:22:47what i notice a little bit.
00:22:49do think, Obviously Trump is very divisive in America and so you
00:22:53could have room of democrats that will tell you it has never been worse and
00:22:57actually the research into this concept of American dream tells you
00:23:01in poling terms people do feel quite despondent
00:23:05in America at the moment, but the reasoning appears to be because the
00:23:09media is so down on Trump as it is here as well, it's
00:23:12even worse in America, you very rarely will hear anybody say anything good about the
00:23:16economy or employment or how well businesses is... doing
00:23:20and
00:23:20it is doing well, their economy is doing well, their growth is going to dwarf ours in the
00:23:24next year or so, um, and I think the idea that you
00:23:28can make make yourself more successful is, it still
00:23:32exists in
00:23:33in America, it's harder to find here, I
00:23:36think uh, well, I've got not one but two successful entrepreneurs by
00:23:40my side, um, do you feel like we need to do more to encourage entrepreneurial
00:23:44thinking, celebrate success, we do, there used to be a time maybe 10 years
00:23:48ago that I was getting offered businesses all the time. and I wanted to invest money, I
00:23:51wanted to run maybe more pubs, more bars, whatever, I wanted to
00:23:55aspire to be better for myself and for my family,
00:23:59but now especially with this government that we've got, we're taxed
00:24:02into oblivion, there's so many loop holes you have to go through
00:24:06uh to open businesses, it just feels like our government are attacking
00:24:10anyone that wants to do better for themselves, wants to hire people,
00:24:14we see it with Rachel Reeves, taxing us for daring to hire
00:24:18and give people jobs, is that we should be rewarded
00:24:22for giving people jobs, not taxed, and I think that is
00:24:26bringing this country down, and certainly the economic figures show that,
00:24:30we need to be proud in people that want to employ people in this
00:24:33country, and as Bev said, sometimes people look at us and
00:24:37think, oh, well they've got something that I want, I don't want them to have it, and that's
00:24:41a really bad trate, the the treasury secretary in America, Scott Beson, when he stood up
00:24:45recently and he said, and it comes from the heart with that government, he said, I want you
00:24:49to keep. more of your own money, i just desperately
00:24:53we are trying to, and they have cut taxes, the cut taxes on tips, so everybody
00:24:57in hospitality industries not paying tax or any on their tips, the stuff that they've done is
00:25:01is very, it's the kind of stuff that we talk about when adam's on late
00:25:05show live and we'd say what can what what do you need as a businessman, that's
00:25:09what they are doing in america, so for some adam
00:25:13i'd say that we need much lower VAT, i think VAT should be much lower on hospitality
00:25:17because ultimately economists call this positive externality. It's much better for
00:25:21somebody to have pint a pub than have a can of lager at home, it's just better for their mental wellbeing,
00:25:25for their community and so on, so many positive after effects, what we don't talk about nearly
00:25:29enough in terms of ambition is student loss, now I know some people
00:25:32say they shouldn't go to university in the first place, that's a separate conversation, but it's certainly
00:25:36it's related, but the point is this, if you come out of university with a 21
00:25:40or a first and you got 40, 50, 60 grands worth of
00:25:43debt, you want to get on the housing ladder, you want to have kids, you might have to look
00:25:47after your parents, that person is going to be very... goverse, they're not going to say, you
00:25:51know what, I'm going to take a shot, I'm going to start a high street business or I'm going to start a pub or I'm going to
00:25:55start a consultancy or whatever, I'm going to play it safe,
00:25:59and so I want people even with somebody on the left, I want people
00:26:01to take more risks, but... 'when you've got that debt hanging around your neck, it's
00:26:05a really big problem, and I know you might say, well, few people should go to university,
00:26:09probably true, probably part of it, would definitely say that, I think it's absolutely ridiculous the
00:26:13number of people that go to university, probably part of it, but I also think that the the loans
00:26:16themselves, we should probably think about capping the interest rates, just as a first
00:26:20step, and I think that could help, labor said they'd scrap the fees, didn't they a good
00:26:24few years ago, suddenly they've gone up under them, so take that
00:26:28for what you will, uh, politicians lie, and it's the young people that are suffering'.

00:26:32you know what I would like to see us do as well, um, celebrate
00:26:36is perhaps too strong a word, but almost like at the moment, I
00:26:40think sometimes when somebody tries something and fails, I think um,
00:26:44some people can be so quick to point, aha,
00:26:47look at him, look
00:26:48at her, uh, you loser, you tried this, it didn't work, blah, whereas
00:26:52in America, I would argue that actually having a
00:26:55failure,
00:26:56you know, under your belts, behind you and all the rest of it, it's seen not as a
00:27:00badge of honor necessarily, but almost um, you'd acknowledge
00:27:04that and you'd be like, hi five, you for having a gir, yeah, you've had a
00:27:08girl, you've probably learned, god and ears how many lessons along the way,
00:27:12there's none of this, look at him, look at her, she's failed, none of that, um, can
00:27:16I just say as well, if you are just tuning in tonight, you will have
00:27:19noticed, I am not in my regular place of work, I'm not
00:27:23behind a studio desk, no, they have let us out and about, we are coming

00:44:41we are all different uh, we speak differently, we look differently and all

00:44:49absolutely, no, it's about time that we have more people that say bath and path on the
00:44:53tele as opposed to bath and path, I think, but uh, yeah,

00:44:59doing, it's the best bit about GB news for me, we're going to be doing a bit of it tonight, but it's when you go out and
00:45:03about to different parts the country, like Mertha Titfel in Wales and you just show the area a lot of
00:45:07love, some these areas that have been forgotten really'. by lot the the kind of
00:45:11Westminster class, you go out there and you speak to these people and they really appreciate it, I

00:45:30absolutely uh loves Britain, the Royals,

00:45:38what they love about Britain. "I'm not the biggest fan, all right, moving
00:45:41on, I must say, I must say, Queen Elizabeth was a great uh, she was a great ambassador for the
00:45:45country, you know, I think it's a it's it's a bit of mix
00:45:49in terms of how her children have picked up the battle. Uh,

00:45:55what I don't like, I don't like it uh, when politicians refuse to
00:45:59give GB News a question a press conference, I've
00:46:03got to tell you, um, I just think more fool you,
00:46:07this audience is growing, you know this, you're regular..." on this channel, you'll get
00:46:11stopped by people all the time, politicians, if they do
00:46:14choose on occasion to ignore the GB News
00:46:18viewer, how idiotic and moreful them, that's what I think showing their
00:46:22contempt for the the the common man, the common woman or the working
00:46:25man, working woman uh, they're so snobbish and
00:46:29you know in their ivory towers, they don't think that
00:46:33you, the viewer matters, but let me just say the whole reason why they
00:46:37don't take questions from GB News, because we are... the only
00:46:40channel that actually asks them awkward and challenging
00:46:44questions that they've got to answer and force them to be
00:46:47truthful uh, they don't like that, so of course if they
00:46:51do not want the... to be out there, they will not answer the GB News
00:46:55questions. um, one of my viewers, and I'm just your comments are coming
00:46:59in so fast, and I'm going to find your name in just second, um, because one
00:47:02of my viewers have just got in touch, and you've said, do what I love about Britain,
00:47:06Michelle, Santa, our great traditions, he
00:47:10did, Christmas, when Santa has
00:47:13visited, there is nothing better, yes, I
00:47:17cannot wait for George's first visit from Santa and
00:47:21the second visit, and then also... so I think when he's a little bit older we might go and visit Santa
00:47:25ourselves, you can go and do that, can't you, of course, you can go and go and go and visit
00:47:29Santa where Santa lives, so very much lucky forward to that, I think that might be more for me than

00:47:51things I look, the food... He says, I can tell you now, fish and chips, I was
00:47:55mentioning that at the top, fish and chips is coming through as one the biggest
00:47:58loves that people have in this country uh, he's also
00:48:02mentioned how everyone came together when we lost our
00:48:05queen, and I think that I'm looking at you, but you've just told
00:48:08me you're not into the world, so I'll move,
00:48:10I think queen Elizabeth was an exceptional, she was one the major figures the 20th, 21st
00:48:13century, 100%. My nen loved her, I used to sit there with my
00:48:17nan cup of tea and we used to sit there and watch the royal
00:48:21events and that... made me feel british that f made me
00:48:25feel proud and as soon as she died that sort
00:48:29of love for the royal family sort of died with me
00:48:32um
00:48:33you know always think of my nan with the queen so that was a massive loss
00:48:37to this country sharon um said michelle happy

00:48:45watching gb news thank you uh and you say
00:48:49you like
00:48:50that the fact that we talk um you as opposed to
00:48:54um at you and lecture, we would not, and patrick, and
00:48:57you're uh very passionate about this as well, we don't exist to lecture
00:49:01people and tell them what to think, um, I would argue that we
00:49:05exist to have robust conversations, reflect some the
00:49:09conversations that are happening around dinner tables uh
00:49:13at home, and then yeah, pubs, and then people make their own minds,
00:49:16that's exactly how I decide what my running order is, and it replicates, I
00:49:20think, what is going on in people's. rooms, not everyone in every family and every house has the
00:49:24same political views and you sit there and you go back and forth, you chat about it over the dinner
00:49:28table, if you're a long car journey and you have those kind of discussions and I think the really
00:49:32important thing is is trying to bring that to the TV, but I also do
00:49:35fundamentally think that a world now where there are so many options out
00:49:39there, Netflix, all these different things that you could be doing,
00:49:43especially at the time of night that my show is on, I see it as a real
00:49:46privilege that people take the time out their day to choose to watch whatever is
00:49:50I'm serving up between 9 pm. and midnight Monday to Friday and and I don't
00:49:54say that for granted, I do, I do, the reason why I put huge amount of work into it is because
00:49:58I genuinely value all of those people, I'm not just saying that, I mean it, I be an honored that
00:50:02they invite me into their living rooms, Roy has just got in touch and says Michelle, I'm
00:50:06an ex-soldier uh, he says, I will never lose the love for
00:50:10my country, I'm not sure if you saw it or not, but when we just went outside, I just gave a
00:50:14little shout out actually to our veterans, because they
00:50:18are so important to us as nation Adam, we wouldn't have the
00:50:21freedoms to... we have today, if it wasn't for the people that laid
00:50:25their lives out there, that lost their lives, that
00:50:29put all on offer, um, so we must
00:50:32always respect and pay tribute to our veterans, and
00:50:36that is sometimes I feel like the younger generations, maybe some on the left, not
00:50:40aaron, will really sort of um go against
00:50:44that, and and

00:55:09for Friday, sunny spells for many, but much the rain will remain
00:55:12focused across more northwestern areas, but most notably
00:55:16across the far north and west of Scotland, as a weatherfronts approaching
00:55:20throughout this evening elsewhere, high pressure will dominate to bring a
00:55:23dry and clear night for many, so it is going to be a cooler night
00:55:27for much of England and Wales, some eastern areas of Scotland as well as
00:55:31northern Island, rurally temperatures falling away down to the low.
00:55:35figures, towns and cities will be a little bit warmer than that to start the
00:55:39day, but still pretty fresh wherever you are. a strong wind across the
00:55:43far north and west of Scotland will accompany the heavy rain, they'll persist
00:55:46through much of Friday across the western irs as well as the
00:55:50highlands, some heavy bursts in that with strong gusty near gale
00:55:54force winds, much dryer though for more eastern areas of Scotland as well as
00:55:57more southern ares where it will remain relatively warm through much the
00:56:01day. northern island seeing fine start to the day, temperatures around 14
00:56:05or 15 degrees here and elsewhere across England, apart from the odd shower
00:56:09across some coastal areas, it will be dry and sunny start
00:56:13to the day, then there will be more in the way of sunshine than we've had
00:56:16today across much the country and that means it will be a little bit warmer
00:56:20too, it's not going to be water wall blue skies but plenty of
00:56:24bright sunshine through the day, particularly across some southern areas of
00:56:28England as well as northern Island and southern areas of Scotland where temperatures
00:56:32will climb to the mid-20s across the south. east 25
00:56:35degrees likely across southeastern areas, a warmer day
00:56:39to come on Saturday, rain still persisting though across more northwestern
00:56:43areas, the winds will be a little bit lighter but still quite a wet day
00:56:47here elsewhere though, remaining dry, temperatures starting to climb as
00:56:51we pick up a southerly wind, so it's going to be a hot day on Saturday, even
00:56:55hotter though on Sunday most likely across the southeast with highs of
