00:00:58First Vice President, said in Bishkek that: "The development of
00:01:02economic and industrial cooperation with the member countries
00:01:05of the Eurasian Union, the use of the economic capacities
00:01:08of the member countries to neutralize the sanctions
00:01:12of America and the West, and reviewing the latest status
00:01:15of the implementation of the free trade agreement between Iran and
00:01:19the Eurasian Union are among the objectives of this trip."
00:01:22Russia, Armenia, Belarus,
00:01:26Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan are the five member countries of the
00:01:30Eurasian Economic Union, and Iran has also become an observer member
00:01:33of this union two years ago.
00:01:36The
00:01:39commodity coupon accounts of about 40 million of our active compatriots
00:01:43have been activated. According to the Deputy of Welfare
00:01:46of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare, from
00:01:49today, families under the coverage of support institutions and
00:01:53holders of national codes ending in zero, one,
00:01:56and two can start their commodity coupon purchases.
00:02:00The settlement process with stores
00:02:04connected to the commodity coupon plan will be completed in 3 to 4
00:02:07weeks.
00:02:08The
00:02:11increase in cement production with the
00:02:15reduction of energy limitations. The secretary of the Cement Industry Manufacturers
00:02:18Association says that during the past week, with the allocation
00:02:22of 400 megawatts of electricity to the cement
00:02:25industry, energy limitations have decreased, and
00:02:28production conditions have improved. Mr.
00:02:32Alvandian said that 400 megawatts is about 30 percent
00:02:35of the electricity needed by the kilns and grinding units of the cement
00:02:39industry, but its provision has increased production compared to before.
00:02:42Also, electricity consumption restrictions at night
00:02:46have also been lifted, and factories can
00:02:50increase their production.
00:02:52The
00:02:56Deputy of Economic Development and Investment of the Secretariat of
00:03:00Free Zones said that 1 million and 700 thousand tons of essential
00:03:03goods were imported into the country through
00:03:07free zones from March of last
00:03:10year to June of this year.
00:03:14Free zones, in sensitive economic junctures, can play
00:03:17a role beyond a mere commercial capacity.
00:03:20An example of this was during this imposed third war,
00:03:24where they became the backbone of supplying essential goods to the country.
00:03:28The activists who were in free zones
00:03:31and perhaps had other areas of activity
00:03:35decided to take the lead in providing
00:03:38essential goods to the country in critical conditions. One
00:03:42of the things that helped this issue was the
00:03:46imports that we had from free zones
00:03:49in the northwest, in the Maku region, or in
00:03:53the Jolfa region, or in the northeast of our country, Sarakhs, and
00:03:56other places. Statistics show that these regions, by facilitating the entry
00:04:00of more than 1 million and 700 thousand tons of essential goods and necessary items,
00:04:04from wheat and rice to oil, sugar, and livestock
00:04:07feed, in a four-month period, meaning from March
00:04:102025 to June 2026,
00:04:14came to the aid of the country's food supply chain. Mazandaran
00:04:18Free Zone, Amirabad Port, due to its history
00:04:21as one of the active ports of the country,
00:04:24has played a more prominent role. The second rank
00:04:28was our Rīmdān border. And Chabahar
00:04:32and Anzali had the third rank. Free zones, with their flexibility
00:04:35in regulations, access to diverse borders,
00:04:39and faster customs procedures, can
00:04:42be alternative and faster routes for
00:04:45the entry of essential goods during periods of intensified
00:04:49restrictions. Of course, provided that economic diplomacy and the Ministry
00:04:53of Roads and Urban Development are involved in this area.
00:04:56We need to stabilize long-term railway contracts
00:05:00with high capacity for the country. The existence of
00:05:03different systems causes confusion for traders,
00:05:07merchants, and people who want to have commercial activities.
00:05:10This issue of a single window will greatly help us to
00:05:14integrate the systems. The
00:05:18experience of recent months has shown that free zones can be a complementary and
00:05:22operational arm of the government in supplying essential goods.
00:05:25The continuation of this trend requires greater coordination
00:05:29among the agencies involved in trade, which can accelerate
00:05:33the process of foreign trade and the entry of essential goods
00:05:36into the country. Alireza Asli, IRIB News Agency.
00:05:40The
00:05:43stock market in the past week was accompanied by an increase
00:05:47in demand and recorded positive returns, and the
00:05:50overall stock market index surpassed its historical
00:05:54peak. The
00:05:56stock market continued its growth in the past week, and the
00:06:00overall stock market index was able to surpass
00:06:03its historical peak this week with a return
00:06:07of about 7% and set a new record.
00:06:09The upward and balanced
00:06:13trend of the stock market continued after a few days of correction from late July,
00:06:16and with the inflow of money into stocks and equity funds.
00:06:20In Wednesday's trading, the overall index managed to reach a weekly return
00:06:24of 247% to
00:06:27the figure
00:06:30of 656 hundredths of a percent,
00:06:32and from this perspective, to reach a
00:06:36historical figure in the activity of the stock exchange for
00:06:405 million and 47785.
00:06:43This market trend was accompanied by an injection of 14 thousand
00:06:47billion Tomans of liquidity by real traders,
00:06:50which caused financial resources to move towards
00:06:54fundamental values. Meanwhile, the spring and July
00:06:58reports of companies sent a positive signal to market
00:07:01participants. The refining industry, due to the improvement
00:07:05of the cracks between oil and
00:07:07products, was welcomed by shareholders and investors.
00:07:11Metal and mining groups
00:07:14were attractive to investors due to the growth of
00:07:18global prices, the growth of the dollar price, and competition in the commodity exchange.
00:07:21In addition to the growth of indices, the stock
00:07:25market also witnessed the unveiling of a new financial
00:07:28instrument: private financing instrument investment
00:07:32funds. These funds will be authorized to
00:07:36invest in unlisted securities.
00:07:39This means that they can purchase
00:07:43various types of unlisted corporate bonds, unlisted
00:07:47sukuk, bank bonds issued in the form of
00:07:50deposit certificates and participation bonds that are exempt from registration,
00:07:54and government bonds that are exempt from registration
00:07:58and have not been accepted. The behavior of the stock market in recent
00:08:02weeks shows that this market, given the value and
00:08:05positive performance of companies, has moved away from emotional
00:08:08behavior, even with the news of war,
00:08:12and is following its balanced path. Maryam
00:08:16Fadai, IRIB News
00:08:17Agency.
00:08:20The secretary of the Union of Iranian Paper
00:08:23and Cardboard Manufacturers says that by providing raw materials
00:08:27for production, facilitating registration of orders, and supporting
00:08:30exports, industries with surplus production can
00:08:34generate suitable foreign exchange for the country. According to
00:08:37Mr. Esfandiyari, currently, the export of packaging
00:08:41paper is about 100,000 tons, and the target for
00:08:44achieving annual exports of 500,000 tons
00:08:48has been planned.
00:08:49With
00:08:54sacrifice, they stood by this story and continued
00:08:57their production. They continued because they believe
00:09:01that the pride of the country is a special goal
00:09:04for everyone. This investment that has happened in the country in
00:09:08past years should now show its results.
00:09:12Well, for example, in the field of packaging
00:09:15paper, we have almost reached
00:09:18self-sufficiency in a large part of these papers. In the decade
00:09:22that started in 2015, or rather 2013, the
00:09:25private sector invested and entered this field.
00:09:28The
00:09:31Secretary of the National Saffron Council says that
00:09:34Iran produces more than 92% of the world's saffron
00:09:38with desirable quality. Mr. Manouchehri
00:09:41said that despite this volume of production, maintaining this position requires
00:09:45reducing waste, increasing productivity, and scientific
00:09:48management of the production chain. According to forecasts,
00:09:52from 133 thousand hectares of cultivated land
00:09:55in the country, more than 500 tons of saffron will be produced
00:09:59this year.
00:10:03A 339% jump
00:10:05in customs revenues in the Sahlan Special
00:10:08Economic Zone in East Azerbaijan. Based
00:10:12on the latest report of the General
00:10:15Department of Customs of the Sahlan Special Economic Zone, in the first
00:10:19four months of the year 1405,
00:10:22more than 73 million dollars worth of goods were
00:10:25exported from this customs office, a figure that indicates
00:10:28an 8% growth in the volume of exports compared to the same
00:10:32period last year. The Director
00:10:35General of Customs of the Sahlan Special Economic Zone, referring
00:10:39to the composition of the region's export basket, announced that polystyrene,
00:10:42sweets and chocolates, copper cathodes, and copper
00:10:46concentrate were the main drivers of the province's industrial
00:10:49exports during this period. In the import
00:10:52sector, this customs office also witnessed a 35% increase
00:10:56in the weight of imported goods, most of which consisted
00:11:00of essential goods and production line machinery, including
00:11:03beef and industrial processing equipment.
00:11:07The
00:11:07member
00:11:11of the Economic Commission of the Parliament said
00:11:13that the tax on speculation
00:11:17and hoarding helps guide liquidity
00:11:20to production and curb inflation. According to
00:11:24Mr. Ghaderi, two are currently preparing
00:11:27the infrastructure for
00:11:29the implementation of this law.
00:11:31The more money printing grows in the country, the result will be nothing
00:11:35but rising prices and inflation, and in such a situation, we must
00:11:39look for the root cause. Inflation
00:11:42is a penalty that
00:11:45you impose on people, consumers, and
00:11:48producers. That's what inflation
00:11:51means, and it's a reward that we give to speculators and brokers.
00:11:55But what is the main root of this inflation that has affected everyone?
00:11:5875% of the current inflation in our society
00:12:02is due to the government's imbalance and budget deficit.
00:12:06To solve the budget imbalance problem, the government
00:12:09must turn to sustainable resources. Schematically, it has two
00:12:13main sources of income: either oil or taxes. We
00:12:16cannot rely on oil revenue. This income is neither
00:12:20independent nor sustainable. It is our
00:12:23tax system that must be reformed so that the government can
00:12:26have good revenues. But why have we not been able
00:12:30to solve some of these problems using taxes so far?
00:12:34In the value-added tax system, where they
00:12:37take 9-10% from people, you
00:12:41have exempted almost 60% of society from value-added tax.
00:12:44The 40% who are not exempt usually go
00:12:48and take the POS of those 60%
00:12:51from the people, they take that 10%,
00:12:55but they don't pay it to the government. It's a vicious cycle, Dr.
00:12:58Now, to break this vicious cycle, last
00:13:02August, the law on speculation and profiteering
00:13:05was approved by the Parliament. Last
00:13:08year, about 350 trillion
00:13:11Tomans were lost by our domestic car manufacturers.
00:13:14But when you go and look, these are statistics, you
00:13:18find out that about 800 trillion
00:13:20Tomans, 750 to 800 trillion Tomans, is the speculation market.
00:13:45According to existing statistics, this tax base is implemented in 120 countries under the title of
00:13:49capital gains tax, which is a tool for
00:13:52controlling inflation in markets. Hello to you. May your evening be good.
00:15:40Thank you for watching the news channel
00:15:44and choosing the On the News Line program to watch. In recent days,
00:15:47Japanese publisher Benshuninsho
00:15:50in Japan published a book titled
00:15:54"Why the United States Failed Iran."
00:15:57This interesting book is actually at the
00:16:00top of Amazon's best-seller list in
00:16:04Japan, and on this occasion, we want to take a look
00:16:08at this book and also take a look at
00:16:11public opinion in the world regarding the atmosphere prevailing
00:16:15in the war that America has started against Iran.
00:16:19We are honored to have Mr. Bahman Akbari, an expert on international
00:16:23affairs. Welcome, Mr. Akbari. Thank you very much. Good evening to you, and
00:16:26I hope that in this discussion, especially
00:16:29about a cultural work in the
00:16:32first place and a political and social work in the second
00:16:35place, we can.
00:16:57It has gone in this direction to actually oppose America's
00:17:01policies, especially in the field of war and
00:17:04power-seeking, and it continues to do so.
00:17:07Yes, as you rightly pointed out, today,
00:17:11even in the memorial service held
00:17:14for the victims of the great
00:17:17and horrific incident of its kind
00:17:20that was carried out against the Japanese by the Americans,
00:17:24even the official authorities of that country did not
00:17:28mention America, and this was also protested
00:17:31by Russian diplomats or
00:17:34politicians, who asked why you accept
00:17:37this shame and do not even have the
00:17:41courage to mention America's name as the perpetrator of this
00:17:44crime. This, of course, is very effective
00:17:48in public opinion, and it's interesting
00:17:52that our discussion today coincides with
00:17:55the day of remembrance for the victims
00:17:58of Hiroshima and that incident and tragedy.
00:18:01Let's go back to the book. Please introduce
00:18:05the author of the book. Is he a credible person
00:18:08in the field of international politics, and from
00:18:11your point of view, from what perspective did the author write
00:18:15this book? The author seems to have,
00:18:19given his lived experience in countries
00:18:22like Iran,
00:18:24even Oman, Saudi Arabia, and
00:18:28in his diplomatic record, he has been
00:18:32in Qatar and also in Israel
00:18:36has had responsibilities as a diplomat. In some places,
00:18:40he has been an ambassador, and in other places, he has been
00:18:43present as a diplomat and political analyst.
00:18:46This person wrote this book
00:18:49after he retired and wrote this
00:18:53book during his retirement,
00:18:56which I think was an ambassador in Iran, yes, yes, yes, and in
00:18:59my opinion, he had two important issues, and that is that when
00:19:03a person has responsibility, his words and speech
00:19:07have political implications, and naturally,
00:19:11a diplomat should not take such actions, but today,
00:19:14as a retired diplomat,
00:19:17he speaks as a researcher and writer,
00:19:21and therefore, it has been accepted. The title he
00:19:25chose for his book is , in a very clear
00:19:29and transparent way, "Why America lost
00:19:32to Iran," and he examines this
00:19:35loss from different perspectives
00:19:39and factors. Eks-sukoku,
00:19:42the author of the book, what arguments and logic does he present,
00:19:46Mr. Akbari, to say that America lost the last three
00:19:50wars against Iran? What are his arguments? What is his
00:19:53logic? Look, one of his most important points is the issue of asymmetrical
00:19:57warfare, which we have discussed extensively.
00:20:00In my opinion, from this perspective, we entered a war,
00:20:04as the Arabs say, an unbalanced and unequal
00:20:08war, and we were able to
00:20:11adopt strategies in the military
00:20:14field and with very simple tools
00:20:18against heavy weapons or expensive
00:20:21weapons to disrupt the balance and participate in an asymmetrical
00:20:25war, which, in my opinion, IRIB
00:20:28has addressed this issue extensively, and it is appropriate
00:20:31for a military person to have these discussions and analyses.
00:20:35However, the very accurate view that he has,
00:20:38and which we refer to as Trump's
00:20:42computational error,
00:20:45and the current political establishment and the current government,
00:20:49is that they either did not
00:20:52have the ability to evaluate,
00:20:55or they did not pay attention to the studies
00:20:58and research that American and European think tanks
00:21:01had conducted on the foundations of Iranian civilization and
00:21:04culture. Trump did not pay attention to this at all. This is
00:21:08one of the sections of the book. I electronically browsed the book, and
00:21:11one of the sections deals with the civilizational
00:21:15background of Iran and, in a way, compares it
00:21:19with the civilizational background of, for example, America.
00:21:22He addresses this and puts the two together.
00:21:25He also had lived experience in Iran. He lived in West
00:21:29Asia. You are aware of his meticulousness, and we
00:21:32have had various interpretations in these areas, and our
00:21:35esteemed listeners have heard a lot. When, in the
00:21:38Arab world, regarding negotiations
00:21:42and also the conflict or struggle and war between us
00:21:46and the Americans, they brought an Iranian carpet here and showed
00:21:50it and said, "Look, if you want to understand Iran's
00:21:53policy, pay attention to the art of Iranian carpet weaving.
00:21:56This art has a preconceived design,
00:21:59and in this preconceived design, knot by
00:22:03knot, they are placed next to each other to create
00:22:06a large image, and they ensure
00:22:09the continuity of art for a lifetime. Therefore,
00:22:12strategic patience is one of the issues that
00:22:15this author refers to, that Iran has
00:22:19had strategic patience, which in the civilizational
00:22:22and cultural sphere, in my opinion,
00:22:25manifests itself in its art, as well as in
00:22:29the depth of concepts such as
00:22:32the field of Islamic literature and wisdom. You are
00:22:35aware that we, in the
00:22:39field of our own literature, today,
00:22:42to put it in parentheses and not deviate from the
00:22:45discussion, we are so attached to our
00:22:48past, and this cultural
00:22:52attachment exists, that today we
00:22:56understand Rudaki's words, we understand the words and
00:22:59literature of a person, we understand the words
00:23:02and literature and poetry of Shahnameh. This feeling
00:23:06is transmitted to us, whereas between us,
00:23:10to return to the book, the author's view is also realistic,
00:23:13and he addresses the fact that the military power
00:23:17of Iran and America are not comparable. He admits
00:23:20this, and at the same time, while admitting that
00:23:24this power is not equal, he points to America's
00:23:27defeat. How can this be evaluated? In the same
00:23:31discussion of the asymmetry between weapons,
00:23:34this has been completely
00:23:37clear in his mind. That is, after all, today,
00:23:41Iran, as a great
00:23:44country that has directly confronted America,
00:23:47this is no longer a story. It's not a threat.
00:23:50It's not a myth or a wish that one day we will
00:23:54confront a great power, and today,
00:23:57certainly, as the martyred leader
00:24:01said, if the Americans could, they would certainly
00:24:05have defeated us, and they certainly cannot,
00:24:09and so far, it has been due to their inability.
00:24:12In any case, a small group
00:24:14with little benefit, we should not forget
00:24:18these great theological ideals. In any case, as
00:24:22the Quran says, a small group will overcome a large
00:24:25group, and this imbalance,
00:24:28yes, you made a completely correct
00:24:32point, and I said I wanted to
00:24:36skip this discussion because time is short, and
00:24:40I want to address a discussion that is exactly worthy of
00:24:43study and we pay less attention to it. In the 12-day
00:24:47war, we witnessed that, fortunately, our
00:24:50eulogists, our dear eulogists,
00:24:52sang Iranian slogans with steadfastness
00:24:56and stemming from extraordinary power, and they were sung in the
00:25:00presence of the Leader, and we saw a new
00:25:04paradigm, although we had paid attention to it,
00:25:08we paid more attention to it. There have always been
00:25:11conflicts or, in other words, discussions between Islamism
00:25:15and Iranianism, but we saw exactly that this
00:25:19Iranianism, meaning culture, civilization, and what
00:25:22has been formed as deep and fundamental
00:25:26myths and metaphors in the minds and language of our
00:25:30nation, we manifested it, and all the people,
00:25:32united and in solidarity, were able to
00:25:36stand against this. This is where, in my opinion,
00:25:39the author pays attention to it and refers to Trump's
00:25:43computational error, that Trump was not aware
00:25:47of this power and this ability. One of the strengths of this
00:25:50book is that it was published a very short
00:25:53time after the war happened, and we rarely
00:25:57see a topic that is so close to the event. This can
00:26:01make the analyses of this book much more practical.
00:26:04This is an Eastern perspective and an Eastern narrative,
00:26:07as opposed to the Western perspective and Western narrative that is dominant
00:26:11in the media space. How can we evaluate this? In my opinion, this
00:26:15is an excellent start, and I have always complained
00:26:18about our cultural diplomacy. In this war,
00:26:22all our efforts must be put into practice.
00:26:25Our diplomats in the field of politics have a responsibility,
00:26:29our launchers in military power have
00:26:33a responsibility, but our cultural launchers seem
00:26:36not to have had full capacity in this defense.
00:26:40Our media, in any case, has been able to bring
00:26:44itself to this level, to deliver its message.
00:26:47I have not studied whether this duty has been fulfilled
00:26:51outside the country or not, but I want to say that
00:26:54if we are in this asymmetrical war, which we are still
00:26:58in, we should not assume that the war is over.
00:27:01Today, even if, regarding the Strait of Hormuz,
00:27:05we reach an agreement with the Americans through Oman,
00:27:09and this becomes final, and the Strait
00:27:12of Hormuz opens, and this begins,
00:27:16we should not consider this as the end of the war,
00:27:19while it is not the end of the war. Therefore, all
00:27:22pillars, institutions, and spheres
00:27:25of power and authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran
00:27:29must be prepared. Akbari also mentioned the Strait of Hormuz,
00:27:36and he talks about Iran's effective and powerful use
00:27:39of its geography and the capabilities of the Strait of Hormuz.
00:27:43What arguments and explanations does the author
00:27:46provide in this regard? This is the same thing that has
00:27:50been circulating among us. He refers to it as a hidden
00:27:53power, a power that the
00:27:57world had neglected, and the focus of the
00:28:00world's great waterways like Bab al-Mandeb,
00:28:03the Strait of Hormuz, the Suez Canal,
00:28:07and the Bosporus, which are in our
00:28:10ecosystem. He refers to how Iran was able
00:28:14to, with a correct choice and a
00:28:18so-called mastery over a concept
00:28:21that was in its hands but had been neglected,
00:28:25realize this power. He refers to it, but I still
00:28:29believe that we should pay
00:28:32attention to the issue of
00:28:35cultural and civilizational
00:28:38foundations and Iranian identity in this book, which
00:28:42could and did mobilize and create cohesion
00:28:45and unity, while you are aware that
00:28:49after this recent war incident, they thought that, well,
00:28:52whatever happened in January, they would come and
00:28:56assassinate the Leader and top officials
00:28:59in an unfair way, and then the people would
00:29:03welcome them, and we see that, contrary to that,
00:29:07the national spirit and, so to speak,
00:29:10cultural and civilizational foundations emerge and
00:29:13manifest, and from metaphor
00:29:16to the level of discourse, and from discourse to the level
00:29:20of social requirements, it appears and shows
00:29:23the symbol of authority and power, and here,
00:29:27the respected author has paid more
00:29:29attention to this aspect than other parts.
00:29:33Has the book received any feedback outside of Japan, or have you
00:29:36studied whether it has received any feedback or analysis
00:29:40in Western media or Western think tanks? Unfortunately,
00:29:44I haven't seen any analysis, and I think it's still
00:29:47new, and it's good that the IRIB
00:29:49of the Islamic Republic of Iran and you will start this
00:29:53discussion. Thank you for watching the news channel. We discussed
00:29:56the Japanese book titled "Why the United States
00:30:00Failed Iran."
