00:02:45thank God, in the Yasmine, to the women participating
00:02:45the conference that is currently
00:02:53warning system was the first and to encourage them
00:02:57to the coordination with market. This conference, a large number of
00:03:02encourage women to obtain
00:03:13as well as preserving
00:03:17face. Through this
00:03:18activation system in case of floods,
00:03:23With the approaching winter season,
00:03:28focus is always placed on the readings reliable sources, and obtain the Tafilah Agriculture Directorate is implementing projects to preserve
00:03:31readiness to face and deal with the plant cover, which
00:03:33who was with us this morning. has seen a significant decline in
00:03:34very low in terms of recent years due to poor with the support of the Migration
00:03:37This necessitated efforts to intensify efforts
00:03:40to limit this decline. On
00:03:43another note, the
00:03:47and, well, women's governorate witnessed heavy thunderstorms in the past two days. We will learn
00:03:51the international labor market. more about this from our correspondent from Tafilah Governorate, Ayman Al-Fajra,
00:03:55and his guest, the Director of the Tafilah Agriculture Directorate,
00:03:58Engineer
00:04:00the Migration and Development Centers Bilal Al-Haloul. Ayman, good morning. My question
00:04:04to you and your esteemed guest is about the most prominent
00:04:07measures being implemented by
00:04:09and southern regions of the Tafilah Agriculture Directorate to preserve the plant
00:04:11women, in the international labor cover and also to limit
00:04:12and to your esteemed guest, its decline in light of the improvement
00:04:16the program implemented with the Princess in recent rainfall. market. Okay, this
00:04:16Please go ahead.
00:04:20Yes, good morning to you and all our beloved viewers. There is no
00:04:24doubt that we have entered the winter season, so
00:04:27there must be measures
00:04:31at the level of all relevant government departments.
00:04:34The Tafilah Agriculture Directorate is not an exception to this
00:04:38and the full partnership with matter, so it has prepared
00:04:41for the winter season by utilizing
00:04:44the remaining plant cover in Tafilah Governorate
00:04:50registered in where we are in due to the poor previous rainy seasons, which witnessed a scarcity
00:04:52of rain. In some years,
00:04:56of tourism and heritage in it reached 80% and its residents hope, God willing, or rather, 80 mm,
00:04:58guest who was with us this which is about
00:05:00250 mm. So there was a large gap in the numbers.
00:05:04To do that
00:05:08women to and preserve the plant cover, it was necessary to collect water on the trees
00:05:11so that these trees could regain their health, and therefore
00:05:15these projects that are currently being implemented will
00:05:19naturally carry out water harvesting
00:05:22for trees, especially in difficult geographies like Tafilah's
00:05:26geography, which is known for its mountains and needs
00:05:30water harvesting for trees or
00:05:33other
00:05:36this topic and the rain that also fell on Tafilah Governorate
00:05:39during the past two days,
00:05:43I welcome the Director of the Tafilah
00:06:06in the governorate, in addition to
00:06:09in the governorate on
00:06:13the mountains, and also the shallow
00:06:16soil depth, have made these forests
00:06:19truly
00:06:25the soil. The Forestry Department came up with a truly
00:06:28appreciated idea of
00:06:31creating water traps and
00:06:34introducing water harvesting techniques manually
00:06:37into the forests to save what
00:06:40remains of them. Today, we are talking about a plant cover that has significantly
00:06:44declined. Anyone who looks at Tafilah
00:06:48and its forests in the past and looks at them now will see a vast
00:06:51difference. Talk about this project
00:06:54specifically, its goal and which
00:06:58areas it will be generalized to. Yes, we have taken
00:07:01zones throughout the governorate
00:07:04to conduct a trial
00:07:07experiment to study the situation
00:07:11and see if this idea can succeed or not. Unfortunately, the presence of these
00:07:14forests on rocky slopes
00:07:18makes it difficult to reach these forests, which hinders
00:07:21the work significantly and makes it difficult for us. Therefore,
00:07:24we used manual labor
00:07:27to create these
00:07:30water traps. Water traps involve creating basins around
00:07:33trees to collect the largest possible amount of rainwater,
00:07:37and we always say that soil is the best
00:07:40water reservoir. So, God willing, these are good
00:07:43tidings. The state of instability, thank God,
00:07:47brought about 15 mm of rain
00:07:51to this area in the past two days, which are good tidings, God willing.
00:07:54Also, regarding forests, tell us about the existing
00:07:57areas. How much did they decrease
00:07:59over the past years, and we
00:08:03witnessed in the past years seasons closer to drought than to
00:08:06a scarcity of rain. Yes, the
00:08:09forest areas in the governorate exceed 56,000 dunams.
00:08:14The areas that, unfortunately, were exposed to drought, are around
00:08:1720%, and these are, unfortunately, large numbers.
00:08:20The succession of drought years
00:08:24has, as you mentioned in the report,
00:08:27in some years, not exceeded 100 mm, except for the exceptional case
00:08:31that happened last year, which was around 500 mm, and this is truly an exceptional
00:08:35case. The rainfall of 100 mm
00:08:38on harsh slopes, very high slopes exceeding
00:08:4240%, will be
00:08:47these forests receiving rain from these 100 mm, due to
00:08:51the shallow soil depths, in addition to the presence
00:08:54of forests on harsh slopes. So these, unfortunately, make these forests
00:08:58fragile ecosystems in resisting drought. Another topic
00:09:02related to plant cover: today we
00:09:05are facing innovative ideas that will bear fruit
00:09:09this season and in the coming seasons. Is there
00:09:12also in the forests that have been eroded, from cultivation
00:09:15and so on? Yes, we are currently working on what
00:09:18we call forest patch planting.
00:09:22Patch planting in some forests that might
00:09:26succeed in this idea to compensate
00:09:29for the areas affected by drought. Yes, especially in areas close
00:09:33to parks, which are easily accessible
00:09:36by citizens, we will, God willing,
00:09:40carry out patch planting there, in addition to using, we will not
00:09:44plant, God willing, except using water harvesting techniques
00:09:48so that the signs of success are clear,
00:09:51God willing. Thank God, the rain over the past two
00:09:54days was excellent.
00:09:57You are talking about approximately 15 mm in this area
00:10:02Al-Ais. Tell us about the numbers, and how promising
00:10:06this rainy season was. Thank God, the state of
00:10:09instability brought about 15 mm of rain to this area. Al-Qadisiyah
00:10:13received about 18 mm. So, God willing, these numbers are promising,
00:10:17and this is an invitation. We are taking advantage of our presence on Jordanian
00:10:21Television to invite farmers to plow their lands and prepare for
00:10:25the new rainy season. Just two
00:10:29days ago, we received a letter from His Excellency the Minister
00:10:33regarding inviting the Cooperative Foundation
00:10:36to sell seeds, and we will,
00:10:39platform because we will, God willing, provide a mechanism
00:10:43to transport seeds to farmers, provided
00:10:47that the names of the farmers are registered with us so that
00:10:50the seeds can be brought to them. Last year, there was a good season.
00:10:53خير كم
00:10:56cultivate in grains? I don't have the exact numbers
00:11:00now, but thank God, we received excellent quantities. We estimated
00:11:04the field crops at about 50,000
00:11:06dunams, so that's good.
00:11:10I think the numbers are
00:11:20we heard about the plans available at the Tafilah Agriculture Directorate,
00:11:24what is being implemented now and what will be implemented later
00:11:27to preserve this wonderful image of Tafilah
00:11:30Governorate, its plant cover, and so on. We also heard
00:11:33about the good percentages that accompanied
00:11:36the state of instability over the past two
00:11:39days, which naturally led to some areas
00:11:43reaching 18 mm, meaning
00:11:49the rainy season. So these are encouraging numbers, and we are still
00:11:53in October, my colleague.
00:12:21Within the activities of the "Fursa" campaign, implemented by the Princess
00:12:25Taghrid Institute for Development and Training
00:12:28and Development Centers project of the German Agency
00:12:32for International Cooperation, and with the participation of representatives from
00:12:35government institutions, international organizations,
00:12:38and relevant community organizations and entities
00:12:41concerned with employment and economic empowerment,
00:12:45our colleague Nuza Al-Sawalja
00:12:48joins us. Nuza, after greetings,
00:12:52how does the "Fursa" campaign contribute to enhancing employment opportunities and economic
00:12:55empowerment for the target groups?
00:12:57Please go ahead.
00:13:02Yes, good morning, Ahmed. Good morning to all viewers who have joined
00:13:06this coverage, specifically from
00:13:10underway, which is concerned with
00:13:13the economic participation of women in the international labor
00:13:18of course, is attended by
00:13:21international organizations, government entities, and private entities,
00:13:25as well as entities concerned with economically empowering women,
00:13:28specifically Jordanian women, in the international
00:13:31labor market. The challenges and difficulties
00:13:35that women face in the international labor market are among the most
00:13:39important challenges that women
00:13:42conference, these challenges and difficulties
00:13:46are discussed, and safe, sustainable,
00:13:49and fair employment opportunities are provided
00:13:52for Jordanian women in the international labor market. Also,
00:13:56the difficulties and challenges that they may face
00:14:00in the future are overcome, in addition to developing
00:14:03their work and developing
00:14:06their capabilities and opportunities to compete with
00:14:09women from other countries, and also
00:14:13establishing their presence in
00:14:16We will talk more about this conference with Engineer
00:14:20Yasmine Abu Zant, a technical consultant at
00:14:25project. Let's talk about this conference, which
00:14:29is currently underway and discusses empowering and supporting
00:14:33women economically, specifically Jordanian
00:14:38conference is part of
00:14:41Taghrid Foundation, with the support of the German International Cooperation (GIZ),
00:14:45on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic
00:14:49Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The program aims
00:14:51to promote, whether it is the current conference or the "Fursa"
00:14:55national campaign, which was also launched by the Princess
00:14:58Taghrid Foundation, to promote the concept of safe and organized
00:15:01labor mobility and also to position
00:15:04the Jordanian-German Center for Facilitating Labor Mobility
00:15:07as a reliable source of information for host countries.
00:15:11Empowering women is not only about empowering them with work and skills,
00:15:15but empowering women is also part of
00:15:19their access to reliable and correct information. This
00:15:22is also considered part of empowering women, and this is what we are currently working
00:15:26on through this project implemented by the Princess Taghrid Foundation, which
00:15:29is to provide opportunities for
00:15:33access reliable information and correct
00:15:37sources of information regarding
00:15:39host countries and the different paths
00:15:43that can be joined in other countries. Yes, Engineer Yasmine, from
00:15:46your words, there are two parts
00:15:49to empowering women: a theoretical part and a practical part
00:15:53that you are doing, which is providing theoretical information
00:15:56and experiences to women, and also practical experiences in the international labor market.
00:16:00And we are talking about Jordanian women if they work in foreign
00:16:03markets, which may be foreign or Arab.
00:16:07There are challenges and difficulties that Jordanian women may face in these
00:16:10Arab or foreign markets. What are the most
00:16:13important axes or most important steps that you take to empower
00:16:17women economically in these international and regional markets?
00:16:21Now, I would like to talk about the experience that
00:16:25the German-Jordanian University is doing. It is a live experiment in Jordan
00:16:28to link male and female graduates to the labor
00:16:33Germany. Now we find that during the period
00:16:36of study, there is a preparatory year for students to
00:16:39be able to join, or for students
00:16:43to join foreign markets, specifically in Germany.
00:16:46Now, when we talk about obstacles, these obstacles are not only for women
00:16:50but also for women and men, which
00:16:53are represented, for example, by the language barrier, which is the case
00:16:57in Germany, for example. When we talk about the German language, learning the German
00:17:00language is difficult, but it is important even if it is not a condition
00:17:03for the visa or my path, but it
00:17:06is a condition that facilitates
00:17:10the integration process for male and female students
00:17:13and for women and men, regardless of who we are talking
00:17:17about. So, the obstacles now, when we talk about
00:17:20women, we have societal barriers more,
00:17:22and this is what is now changing in society,
00:17:26that and also the society's view
00:17:29that, for example, women can work more in care
00:17:32professions. This is also what we are currently working on with different partners,
00:17:36the Princess Taghrid Foundation and the German University and others, to change
00:17:40the view of these stereotypes that women are also able
00:17:43to work in professions such as medical professions,
00:17:46engineering professions, green
00:17:49professions, technical professions, and so on. So
00:17:53all of these, we can say that they are obstacles and opportunities at the same time.
00:17:57Yes, the conference, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor
00:18:01and also in cooperation with the Princess Taghrid Foundation for Development
00:18:04and Training, and also the "Fursa" campaign, is an opportunity
00:18:07to support and empower women economically
00:18:11in their participation in, meaning, international
00:18:14markets and also regional markets.
00:18:17So, a message from you, Engineer
00:18:21in this conference, and also a guiding
00:18:25message so that there will be more participation in the labor market
00:18:30to engage in the international labor market.
00:18:32As I said, I honestly like
00:18:36to always
00:18:39reliable information and sources of information because
00:18:43someone from the speakers today said that women are very concerned about the issue
00:18:47of knowing when they move to any market, whether local
00:18:50or international, that it is a safe market and a market that
00:18:54appreciates their skills. This is what we always encourage:
00:18:57that they always have access
00:19:00to information, verify
00:19:04the appropriate information for them from
00:19:17and I return to my colleagues after this
00:19:20information about the most prominent features
00:19:24economic participation, Jordanian participation in regional and international markets,
00:19:28and the most important challenges and difficulties that they face. Also, during
00:19:31this conference and after its conclusion, there will be
00:19:35effective and successful solutions to support Jordanian women
00:19:38in the international labor market and also to develop
00:20:05who was with us this morning. To face the repercussions of different weather conditions,
00:20:08dear viewers, during the winter season, the Petra
00:20:12Development and Tourism Region Authority activated operations rooms
00:20:16and the early warning system for flood risk, amidst preparations
00:20:19by the Authority's staff and equipment
00:20:21to deal with all winter conditions. The Authority seeks
00:20:25through these efforts to protect the region and the
00:20:28archaeological site in Petra, which is one of the most prominent cities
00:20:33the world, from the conditions and dangers of the winter season.
00:20:37Our correspondent from Jordanian Television,
00:20:41colleague Ziad Al-Tuwaisi, joins us. Ziad, good
00:20:44morning. Let's talk more about the preparations of the
00:20:48Petra Authority for the repercussions of the winter season.
00:20:51Please go ahead.
00:20:55Yes, good morning to you and all dear viewers from
00:20:59here in Petra, the rose city, specifically from the Petra
00:21:03Development and Tourism Region Authority. This year, the rose city
00:21:06witnessed an early winter. Yesterday, the city
00:21:09witnessed heavy
00:21:13rainfall, while tourist movement continued
00:21:16normally and as usual.
00:21:19Of course, all relevant authorities raised
00:21:22their readiness and prepared their plans
00:21:26in advance to deal with the conditions and repercussions of the winter season. Here
00:21:29in the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority, all teams
00:21:33and equipment have been prepared, and winter operations rooms
00:21:36have been activated to deal with the different
00:21:39conditions and repercussions of the winter season, in addition to activating the early
00:21:42warning system for flood risk, which is considered
00:21:45one of the most important warning systems for
00:21:48flash floods and floods in the region. For more information, we are pleased to have
00:21:52with us His Excellency Engineer Mohammed Al-Habaibeh, Commissioner of Infrastructure
00:21:55in the Petra region. Your Excellency, good morning. Tell us about
00:21:59your readiness for the winter season. Good morning, my brother Ziad, and good morning
00:22:03to the esteemed viewers. Thank God for these blessings,
00:22:06always and forever. We, in the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority,
00:22:10one of the most important axes and programs that we work on in the winter
00:22:14season is the winter season management plan. Of course, this document
00:22:17is a living document and is subject to development and modification
00:22:20through previous seasons, learning
00:22:24lessons learned, and also identifying hot spots
00:22:27and working on them, in addition to preparing all the necessary
00:22:31resources and materials to implement the plan, in terms of human
00:22:35resources and also equipment, most importantly
00:22:38the early warning system, from which information is obtained
00:22:41regarding the amount of rain that falls instantly and momentarily,
00:22:45as well as measuring the water level in the main valleys.
00:22:48These works
00:22:52working in the offices, in addition to its connection with a specialized
00:22:56the field, distributed across the entire region's scope
00:23:00within the six population centers, and communication through
00:23:04a special emergency radio system
00:23:07for relaying information to the central emergency room.
00:23:10Thus, work is carried out in an organized
00:23:15all staff. And we in
00:23:18are managing this file with full efficiency and effectiveness,
00:23:22giving utmost attention to the archaeological
00:23:25site, the World Heritage site of the ancient city of Petra,
00:23:28as well as visitors to the region and visitors to the archaeological site,
00:23:32and also the local community in all its gatherings. Yes, Your Excellency, Petra
00:23:36is characterized by an early warning system for flood risk. Tell us about
00:23:39the nature of this system. The early
00:23:43to be implemented in the Kingdom. This system was implemented by the Authority in
00:23:472014. The system consists of rainfall
00:23:50measurement units, instantaneous and real-time, in addition
00:23:53to water level measurement systems in the main valleys,
00:23:56connected via microwave waves to a control
00:23:59room and reading and analysis devices in the main
00:24:03Authority building, in addition to its connection to a siren
00:24:08God forbid, in Petra. Usually, according to the topography
00:24:11of the site, it is all valleys, wadis, and somewhat
00:24:15steep slopes. Therefore,
00:24:18that come out of this system. Based on that,
00:24:22the appropriate decision is made to direct field teams to points
00:24:26where we feel there will be a danger, God forbid. Mostly,
00:24:30the danger in Petra comes from flash floods, not floods. Flash floods
00:24:34mean water within its natural course within the valleys, but
00:24:37when it reaches a certain level, it is dealt
00:24:40with seriously. The emergency plan is implemented.
00:24:44Of course, our emergency plan is divided into two parts:
00:24:47a plan specific to the archaeological site in terms of gathering
00:24:51points and evacuation methods if needed,
00:24:54in addition to the emergency plan related to the six
00:24:58residential neighborhoods and areas. Of course, all resources,
00:25:01whether equipment or human resources, supervisors, or
00:25:05observers, according to the approved plan, are distributed across
00:25:07all sites, and each observer for a specific site
00:25:11or official or emergency worker
00:25:14knows exactly their role in communicating with the central
00:25:17emergency room. Of course, this effort
00:25:21requires a high level of coordination to preserve an important archaeological
00:25:25site, the city of Petra, as well as the lives of visitors
00:25:28and residents. Yes, His Excellency Engineer Mohammed Al-Habaibeh,
00:25:32we thank you very much, and great efforts are being made by
00:25:35the various concerned authorities in the Petra district to deal
00:25:39with the repercussions of the weather conditions. The region
00:25:44that this rainy season will continue
00:25:48this year.
00:25:50The indications are very good, especially since winter started
00:25:54early this year in the rose city, and that this
00:25:57rain will help revive the agricultural sector
00:25:59and add more beauty and charm to the rose
00:26:03city, and preserve the original trees
00:26:06and plants in this region.
00:26:35The staff of the Joint Services Council in Mafraq
00:26:38Governorate have developed their plan and field readiness
00:26:41to deal with the current winter weather
00:26:44conditions, in accordance with organized and well-thought-out
00:26:47procedures. The plan focuses on operating
00:26:51a dedicated emergency room that is directly
00:26:54linked to the electronic winter emergency system at the Ministry
00:26:57of Local Administration to quickly provide
00:27:00the best services to citizens in the field. In the same
00:27:04context, the Council's staff intensified inspection
00:27:08tours and cleaned culverts and rainwater drainage
00:27:11channels, median strips, and the sides of main
00:27:15roads to prevent flash floods in hot spots
00:27:20valleys, dams, neighborhoods, and population
00:27:23centers within Mafraq city. Directly
00:27:27with us from Mafraq Governorate is Jordanian
00:27:31Television correspondent Yusuf Al-Mashakbeh. Yusuf,
00:27:34after greetings, what are the most prominent measures and precautions
00:27:38taken by the Council to ensure the readiness of roads
00:27:41and rainwater drainage sites, and also to reduce the risks
00:27:45of flash floods during the winter
00:27:46season? Please go ahead.
00:27:53Yes, meaning at the end of the news you read, the
00:27:57Joint Services Council staff are still continuing, even
00:28:01at this moment and over the past days, to face
00:28:04the demands and repercussions of the prevailing weather
00:28:08conditions. You know the geographical nature of Mafraq
00:28:10Governorate, and yesterday, thank God, Ruwaishid District witnessed
00:28:14heavy rainfall, and there were
00:28:17measures taken by all relevant and security agencies
00:28:20in the governorate to deal with these
00:28:24conditions. The staff of the Joint Services Council, the Joint
00:28:27Services Council in Mafraq Governorate, are now working, as
00:28:30we see, on the ground, clearing
00:28:34rainwater channels as a precautionary
00:28:37measure
00:28:40the weather conditions and to prevent
00:28:43these channels from being blocked,
00:28:47rainfall soon, God willing. These
00:28:50are the precautionary measures taken by the Joint
00:28:54Services Council, and also within
00:28:56the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Local
00:29:00Administration, His Excellency Engineer Walid Al-Masri, to all municipalities
00:29:04and joint services councils in such circumstances,
00:29:07and instructions for full readiness
00:29:11to carry out this task to the fullest.
00:29:14With us for more His Excellency Engineer
00:29:17Muhammad Al-Shamali, Chairman of the Joint Services Council in Mafraq Governorate.
00:29:21Engineer, may God grant you good health. May God grant you good health, sir. Good morning. Good morning to the nation.
00:29:25Good morning to the النشامى (brave ones) of the homeland wherever they are, especially the النشامى of
00:29:29the Joint Services Council of Mafraq Governorate. Engineer, regarding the
00:29:34the weather conditions, we are now seeing the cadres working
00:29:37as precautionary measures in advance to face and deal with the repercussions of
00:29:40the weather. The preparations started, approximately, sir, about
00:29:44three or four months ago, from the end of the summer season. We started, based
00:29:48on the directives of His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration,
00:29:52by opening culverts, opening torrents, wadis, wadi channels,
00:29:55and cleaning culverts. Today, we
00:29:58are witnessing a campaign at the level of Mafraq Governorate, in partnership, of course,
00:30:02with many institutions, and in communication with the administrative
00:30:05governors. Today, cleaning campaigns, today, culvert cleaning
00:30:09campaigns, all of them come with the primary
00:30:12and ultimate goal of protecting citizens from being exposed
00:30:15to harm, God forbid. Let's talk about the cooperation of the Services
00:30:19Council with the operations room. Is there an operations room
00:30:22for the Governorate Council? And since the Joint Services
00:30:25Council includes more than one municipality, of course, we are within
00:30:29the scope of jurisdiction. Our direct communication is through the main
00:30:33operations in the Ministry of Local Administration, in addition to the operations rooms within
00:30:36the governorate, His Excellency the Governor, the administrative governors, our colleagues,
00:30:40directors of service departments. We are all one team working
00:30:43to serve citizens. And the most important thing today
00:30:47is that we work regardless of specialization. Today, public works specialization, municipality
00:30:51specialization, joint services councils. In the end, it's one team
00:30:54working day and night. We have teams distributed in several areas,
00:30:58and today we are seeing the impact. Thank God, God blessed us with the blessing
00:31:01of rain. We hope, God willing, for a season of goodness and blessing for our beloved
00:31:05Jordan. We always talk, engineer, about more than
00:31:08one municipality having box culvert channels,
00:31:11and there is always suffering, especially when there are rain torrents. Now,
00:31:15what are the measures you have taken as a plan to open these channels? What
00:31:18is also required from citizens, especially those living near these
00:31:21areas? Today, through
00:31:25the Ministry of Local Administration, many teams have been assigned to follow up
00:31:28of municipalities through the joint
00:31:31services councils and the Directorate of Municipal Affairs to inspect all
00:31:35culverts within municipalities and instruct the heads of committees
00:31:39to follow up and inspect all culverts. Today, our message to our brothers
00:31:42citizens and residents on the paths and wadis is to stay away.
00:31:46Today, our message also to citizens
00:31:50is not to dump waste randomly. Today, there is an initiative, my master Hussein, regarding
00:31:53cleanliness at the kingdom level. Today, our citizen is aware, and we hope
00:31:57for more awareness so that today, God forbid, we don't have any injuries
00:32:00to people
00:32:05services. We talk about important
00:32:08cleaning campaigns, and since the service councils are also responsible
00:32:12for main roads and arterial roads, you know
00:32:15there are some, meaning, rainwater drainage channels
00:32:18and some roads that also need, if there is
00:32:22accumulated dust in such conditions, what measures have you taken
00:32:25to face these conditions? Today, one of the main duties of the Services
00:32:29Council and service councils in general is to maintain the cleanliness
00:32:33of arterial roads. Today, we are a tourist country. Today, we have
00:32:36archaeological sites. We have religious shrines to preserve, and today,
00:32:40the esteemed visitor, God willing, will find the place clean and leave it
00:32:44clean. Preparations are underway and ongoing throughout
00:32:47the year. Today, the joint service councils work
00:32:51day and night to maintain the cleanliness of places,
00:32:54to maintain the
00:32:57cleanliness of roads, and we once again appeal to our esteemed citizens not to litter
00:33:10of the council, also an awareness role, a guidance
00:33:13role, and also a participatory role. Are these mechanisms
00:33:16available and ready for these conditions for the current winter season?
00:33:20Today, the primary function of the Services Council and service councils
00:33:24in general is to support municipalities in emergencies, to support
00:33:27municipalities with equipment. Today, the service councils have
00:33:31heavy equipment that we share
00:33:34with municipalities and with many institutions
00:33:38to maintain the opening of wadis, culverts,
00:33:41and torrents. The plans now, Engineer, the Services
00:33:45Council actually plays a significant role and has
00:33:48a participatory role in terms of
00:33:51wadis and dams, especially for residents in remote
00:33:55areas. Do you have, for example, for these areas, special
00:33:59exceptional circumstances to provide them with service? Of course,
00:34:02as we said from the beginning, sir, we have the partnership
00:34:05that exists through the Executive Council of the Governorate
00:34:09and under the directives of the Ministry, in addition
00:34:12the security agencies to follow up on citizens wherever they are,
00:34:15through the Public Security Department, the Civil Defense Department,
00:34:18and also remote areas through the JAF. We have
00:34:22one partnership. The partnership is available 24
00:34:25hours a day, and thank God, we have seen great cooperation from all existing agencies
00:34:29and from our brothers, the citizens. We talk about
00:34:32the cadres. If, for example, municipalities request assistance,
00:34:36as you mentioned earlier, do you provide
00:34:39municipalities with heavy equipment or
00:34:42cadres? Have you prepared cadres
00:34:45to face emergency situations, as emergencies, emergency cases? Oh, of course, we
00:34:48today, the emergency room in the service
00:34:52councils contains many cadres, many
00:34:55equipment. We are talking especially during the blessed winter
00:34:58season, God willing. Suction
00:35:02pumps, water tanks, meaning we can reach
00:35:05citizens. The cadres are ready. Our readiness is high,
00:35:08and God willing, it will be a season of goodness and blessing for
00:35:22efforts, as we see, the box culverts
00:35:26are now ready. These are
00:35:30the areas, especially the culverts located
00:35:33near the wadis for these areas. The great
00:35:36Mafraq valley, this is a torrent. In case, thank God,
00:35:40of rainfall this year, it will contribute
00:35:43to the flow and runoff of this water
00:35:47and water accumulations. All these efforts exerted by
00:35:50the Joint Services Council
00:35:53the municipalities and administrative governors are to
00:35:56preserve the safety and also the property
00:35:59of citizens, and also to provide the best services
00:36:02required in such prevailing

00:38:48Welcome back. Following the visit of Prime Minister Dr.
00:38:52Jaafar Hassan to the Iraq Al-Amir Women's Cooperative last April,
00:38:55a delegation from the Jordanian
00:38:59Cooperative Institution visited the cooperative to learn about
00:39:02its reality and its productive activities. To talk
00:39:06about this visit and its role in supporting the cooperative and its women,
00:39:10we are joined by the Jordanian Television correspondent,
00:39:13colleague Ala Al-Sleihat. Ala, after greetings, how
00:39:17will this visit contribute to supporting the cooperative and developing
00:39:20its productive projects and empowering its women
00:39:23economically? Please.
00:39:50the Iraq Al-Amir Women's Association
00:39:53is considered one of the most important experiences that combine
00:39:57women's economic empowerment and the preservation of handicrafts,
00:40:00in addition to enhancing the presence
00:40:04of local products. Hence, the importance of the visit of a delegation from
00:40:07the Jordanian Cooperative Institution following
00:40:10the visit of Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan last April
00:40:14to open the door for dialogue about
00:40:18the association's ambitions and what
00:40:21this visit will lead to. To learn more
00:40:24about this visit, we are joined by the Director General
00:40:28of the Jordanian Cooperative Institution,
00:40:31His Excellency Abdul Fattah Al-Shalabi.
00:40:40Actually, this visit came accompanied
00:40:43by His Excellency the Administrator of Wadi Seer District to learn about
00:40:47the reality of the cooperative after the visit of His Excellency the Prime
00:40:50Minister to this cooperative last April.
00:40:53And during this visit, His Excellency emphasized
00:40:57the importance of cooperative work as an economic and social
00:41:01pillar, and also directed to support the
00:41:04cooperative and support the women working in this
00:41:07cooperative. This cooperative actually includes
00:41:1035 women members, and also
00:41:14has 20 job opportunities
00:41:17social security. Therefore, the
00:41:21visit was very important, and His Excellency instructed
00:41:24to support the cooperative with a set of in-kind
00:41:28materials, and it was also supported with
00:41:31approximately 8 looms and 25 training
00:41:34opportunities for training on
00:41:36wool production and yarn production.
00:41:40The support actually has a great impact on
00:41:43empowering women in the cooperative
00:41:46and empowering them economically and socially
00:41:49as well. Therefore, we in the Cooperative Institution were keen
00:41:53to follow up on what has been achieved in this
00:41:57visit. And thank God, things are promising,
00:42:00and the support has reached the women,
00:42:04and they have started their work, and actually they have felt a great
00:42:08change. There were challenges they faced,
00:42:11and through the visit, solutions were found for
00:42:15most of them. Yes, Your Excellency, returning to the Prime Minister's visit
00:42:18last April, what were the most prominent issues
00:42:21raised then? Actually, the
00:42:25issues that were raised during the visit were related to the cooperative
00:42:28sector and the challenges faced by the cooperative
00:42:32sector. His Excellency instructed to expedite
00:42:35the preparation of the regulations governing cooperative
00:42:38work. There is a new law issued in
00:42:422025, and this law established
00:42:45the Cooperative Development Fund as an arm
00:42:49and a financing window for cooperatives to provide
00:42:51financing support also and easy
00:42:55loans and also grants. Also, there was a directive
00:42:59to expedite the preparation of the training
00:43:02institute's system to also empower
00:43:05the cooperative sector to train
00:43:08members of the cooperative movement and train the local
00:43:11community and spread the idea and awareness about
00:43:15cooperative work in all governorates of the Kingdom.
00:43:18Your Excellency, as we know, marketing is one of the biggest
00:43:21challenges facing small projects. What are
00:43:25the solutions you propose to solve this problem? Thank you. Actually,
00:43:28we in the Cooperative Institution,
00:43:31with the umbrella organization, the Ministry of Agriculture, and also
00:43:35various ministries, organize bazaars
00:43:38and exhibitions. Cooperative products, handicrafts,
00:43:42and also rural families and small
00:43:44producers are marketed in these exhibitions
00:43:47and bazaars. God willing, in the coming days,
00:43:51the Olive Festival will be opened for
00:43:5410 days. There will be marketing
00:43:56for cooperatives,
00:43:58whether food products or handicrafts.
00:44:02Also, after a few days,
00:44:05the Pomegranate Festival will be opened in
00:44:08Irbid Governorate. This festival will also market
00:44:12cooperative products. Also, there is
00:44:15also the permanent exhibition for marketing rural
00:44:20the Seventh Circle on a land area of 12
00:44:23dunams. God willing, it will be opened soon to market
00:44:27rural and cooperative products and small producers
00:44:31permanently and continuously throughout
00:44:43sustainable project management and enhancing
00:44:46marketing opportunities remain among the most important basic
00:44:49pillars for empowering women economically,
00:44:53cultural and heritage traditions and crafts,
00:44:57and also forming
00:45:00an identity, or forming part of the Jordanian identity.
00:45:28And regarding the weather conditions, dear viewers, the Kingdom
00:45:31remains today under the influence of a state of atmospheric instability. The
00:45:35weather will be moderately hot in most areas of the Kingdom,
00:45:38with the appearance of clouds at various altitudes.
00:45:42God willing, scattered showers of rain will fall in
00:45:46parts of the eastern
00:45:49the Kingdom. It is expected that in the afternoon
00:45:52hours, it will be heavy at times and accompanied
00:45:56by thunder and lightning and precipitation.
