00:04:06yesterday it was only 23. The previous
00:04:09record low in 2018 was
00:04:1225 cm. The upper river is about a meter
00:04:16deeper. Meteorologists predict that today
00:04:19the navigational depth will further decrease.
00:04:22No changes are expected in the coming days, no significant rain that would bring
00:04:26relief.
00:04:28The Rhine is the second longest river in Western and Central Europe after the Danube,
00:04:32and nine countries depend on its waters. Besides grains, coal,
00:04:36fuel, ores, and chemicals, the river transports goods that are difficult
00:04:40to move by road or rail, such as
00:04:43steel structures for construction. The country's construction federation warned that
00:04:47when the Rhine can no longer be relied upon, the transport and
00:04:49logistics situation becomes vulnerable. When Europe's largest
00:04:53economy is already barely growing due to high energy

00:05:16one and a half to two and a half years to build a ship, depending on
00:05:20its size, and of course, considering the size of the Rhine fleet, this is
00:05:24only possible gradually. Last
00:05:26week, the government reassured that there would be no significant impact
00:05:29on the economy, as many companies had already reorganized supply
00:05:33chains, arranged other ways to transport goods, and used warehouses
00:05:37in other locations, but today's meeting during the peak

00:11:31situations and a period of reforms,
00:11:34which she entered, it
00:11:38was one of those that were
00:11:40the most difficult, but any other
00:11:43politician would have faced exactly the same
00:11:47huge international situation
00:11:51in politics, when the state needed
00:11:54recognition, both the creation of the state
00:11:57itself within the country, of the political
00:12:00system itself, and that international
00:12:03diplomatic activity, which Kazimiera
00:12:06Danutė Prunskienė carried out in the 1990s through meetings
00:12:09with leaders of the United States of America,
00:12:12the United Kingdom, France,
00:12:15and Germany, in order to secure
00:12:18international support for Lithuania after the declaration
00:12:21of independence, were truly very significant. And
00:12:25in creating the entire period
00:12:28of the state's regaining independence,
00:12:31as well as in shaping foreign
00:12:34policy. What could be considered
00:12:37the main achievements of this politician, starting
00:12:40with the formation of the government and ending with her later
00:12:43work as a minister?

00:12:51was also a signatory of the Lithuanian Independence
00:12:53Act, who contributed to the restoration
00:12:57of independent statehood of Lithuania,
00:13:00the signing of the act, as well as
00:13:04the aforementioned first prime minister, and
00:13:07that leadership of such an exceptionally
00:13:10difficult period of state-building, she
00:13:13also contributed to the creation of the Lithuanian

00:15:28public discussions in society, starting
00:15:32with suspicions of ties with the KGB, which
00:15:35ultimately from a legal perspective
00:15:38there is no final decision on this
00:15:41matter, and that should not be
00:15:45exploited either, because there was one court
00:15:48decision, and then another court decision,
00:15:52which overturned it, her view of
00:15:54the Soviet Union, of Russia, when she
00:15:57was also serving as prime minister, she maintained
00:16:00a fairly moderate stance on
00:16:03negotiations with Moscow,
00:16:06compared to some other politicians of that time, like
00:16:10Vytautas Landsbergis or similar figures, but here
00:16:13too, one can draw certain parallels,
00:16:17whether it was pragmatic diplomacy at
00:16:20that time, considering the entire political system,
00:16:23or whether it involved excessive
00:16:27concessions that could have been made
00:16:30to Moscow. In this case, the economic decisions of
00:16:341991 were also
00:16:38one of the most
00:16:40prominent situations related to this policy, whether it
00:16:44was during the Soviet economic blockade,
00:16:47when the government raised the prices of many
00:16:50goods, and this caused immense public
00:16:54dissatisfaction and protests, although the decision
00:16:58was explained as an economic
00:17:01necessity, it very much
00:17:04reduced her popularity and
00:17:08led to her resignation.
00:17:11And with this economic
00:17:14situation, she was very much associated
00:17:17with it in later times. In the last
00:17:21decade, how much more did the politician not actively
00:17:24participate in politics? Does that withdrawal over time somehow
00:17:27change your, for example, as a political scientist,
