00:00:19Dear viewers, good day, I am Marinela Ruškovački, you are watching
00:00:23the news on one television, here is what
00:00:26in Petrinja and Slunj, where the bridge we are highlighting.
00:00:30The results of the expert assessment in the case of illegal waste disposal in Gospić
00:00:34have been published, confirming serious environmental pollution. Experts
00:00:37warn that the pollution has already caused permanent consequences
00:00:40and that without urgent remediation, further spread and a threat to human
00:00:44health are imminent.
00:00:47A big concession to Tehran is on the horizon Iran could allegedly gain
00:00:50control over maritime traffic in the Strait of
00:00:53Hormuz.
00:00:56Zlatko Dalić has decided to leave for the coaching position in the
00:01:00United Arab
00:01:01Emirates.
00:01:07USKOK today, due to public interest, published the results of the environmental
00:01:11protection expert assessment in the case of illegal waste disposal in
00:01:15Gospić, in which the married couple Šinsek is suspected.
00:01:18The published findings confirm that the area of the industrial complex located in
00:01:22Bilejska Street is significantly polluted. We will now
00:01:25go directly to Gospić, where our colleague Katarina Plantak is located.
00:01:29Katarina. The finding that was published is truly, truly
00:01:32concerning. It is clear that there is significant environmental damage, but
00:01:35also a danger to people. Urgent remediation is needed, it
00:01:39is said.
00:01:43That's right, Marinela. A 350-page
00:01:46report has been published. We are here, behind me
00:01:49you can see that waste. We can see
00:01:52a huge, huge pile of that waste, but what you can't, you
00:01:56can't smell the stench and even the stinging in your
00:02:00nose from that waste. I am discussing all of this
00:02:03with Mr. Vjeko Bušić, one of the members
00:02:07of the Gospić, Our Home initiative, and Ms. Željka
00:02:10Šikić, who is one of the first neighbors,
00:02:14i.e., lives right next to this facility. Mr.
00:02:17Vjeko, the expert assessment results have been published. What do you say
00:02:21to all of this? Well, hello to all
00:02:24your viewers. I would just correct you at the beginning about what you showed, that it
00:02:28is about huge quantities of waste. It is only about 10% of the waste.
00:02:32What we are standing on now and what we see in the distance is buried
00:02:35waste in the soil at an average depth of 3 meters.
00:02:39Mm, this is a total of about 37,000 tons
00:02:42of waste. Unfortunately, uh,
00:02:45the findings and expert opinion within the investigative procedure showed
00:02:48what we had been warning about,
00:02:51that the Gospić case is an urgent case, that action should have been taken urgently
00:02:55back in February 2025, when it became public. That
00:02:59temporary measures and
00:03:01is... in the war is expected at the end of September urgent remediation should have been taken. Until today, they have been convincing us
00:03:04that the Gospić case is not urgent, that there
00:03:07is no reason or input here for urgent
00:03:11action, that there is no such threat to health and the environment. And today
00:03:15we see that this is not the case, and I think it is
00:03:18time for political and criminal responsibility for all
00:03:22those who participated in this, those who
00:03:25failed to prevent it, and those who did not react in time
00:03:29to the indicated danger.
00:03:32In that report, it says that
00:03:36harmful substances were not found in people's drinking water,
00:03:39what do you say to all of that? They say
00:03:43here on that those metals and harmful substances were found downstream and not upstream from
00:03:46this complex. Well, I can say that it is a good thing
00:03:50that they have not been found in drinking water for now, but if
00:03:54drinking water is to be our indicator for urgent action, then we can all
00:03:58say goodbye to common sense and care for health.
00:04:01So, what has now been proven, that
00:04:05we find five to six heavy metals in the soil
00:04:08at values a hundred or more times higher than
00:04:12reference values, that this location
00:04:16and also within a radius of 50 to 100 meters from the pollution itself is permanently
00:04:19contaminated and cannot be uh, further
00:04:22remediated, that
00:04:25pressure on the elements of microplastics and antimony
00:04:28that have seeped into the soil and groundwater indicate
00:04:31to us that this remediation should have started at least
00:04:35a year ago, not just today, and this
00:04:39is a warning to us that urgent remediation should
00:04:42start tomorrow, that enough discussion has taken place with the Gospić and Lika
00:04:46public about what kind of remediation should be done. This
00:04:50must be removed as soon as possible because otherwise, the health and
00:04:53environment will be at risk. And one more thing, these analyses
00:04:56for example, did not take into account the fact that the
00:05:00Gospić water supply system is planned to draw water
00:05:04from the new Divo Selo spring, and analyses were not
00:05:07done there. So, uh, PFAS compounds,
00:05:10microplastics, heavy and part of the heavy metals that have
00:05:14already seeped through, indicate the urgency and constant monitoring.
00:05:18This is, this is an urgent, urgent, urgent case. Mrs.
00:05:21Željka, you live only 50
00:05:25meters from this waste, so what do you
00:05:27say to these expert assessment results? Are you
00:05:30worried? Well, of course I'm worried. I just have a question:
00:05:34what do we do now? So, everything we've been warning
00:05:37about for over a year has been proven:
00:05:41all the problems we've talked about, the threat to health
00:05:44and the future of this beautiful region,
00:05:47and to the lives and health of our children
00:05:51and ourselves. So I think, as Vjeko said, it's high
00:05:54time to start taking action today, tomorrow, because
00:05:58this is really an urgent case. I refuse to believe that
00:06:02anyone will play with the lives of the people of Gospić
00:06:05and Lika, because this is not just a problem for Gospić, it's a problem for all
00:06:09surrounding places, for our Senj and for Otočac. We cannot
00:06:13be happy because it goes downstream and someone else will suffer. So we are
00:06:17equally worried for all the inhabitants of Lika and for our
00:06:20future. Also, not far from us is the Rakitovac
00:06:23landfill, for which we also have information that this waste was buried,
00:06:27dumped, and who knows where else. I mean, you can look around
00:06:31yourselves, these beautiful pines didn't dry up for no reason,
00:06:35but you can see what the impact is. And I refuse to believe that people
00:06:38don't pay attention, don't trust their common sense that it really is...
00:06:42"high time we all say enough, that concrete
00:06:46measures are taken. This is a problem that has been going on for years. Are you afraid
00:06:49for your health?" Extremely afraid, so
00:06:53I went through the whole process of grieving, now I've kind of
00:06:56accepted it, but at the beginning I left with my children,
00:07:00I looked for tumor markers, I mean children, young men of
00:07:0420 years old and I went to get tested myself. People look at me
00:07:07blankly, but I don't know how to explain to people what kind of panic
00:07:11seized me." And when I did a little research,
00:07:15literally, I found the information that if it's not remediated in
00:07:18a foreseeable time, a year or two, it's time to move. Where to move?
00:07:22Why move? This is not an act of some ecological
00:07:26catastrophe that happened, which we could not influence, like an earthquake
00:07:30or something. This is an act of a person who deliberately, intentionally, for
00:07:34his own profit, said, "I'll dump it here," regardless of
00:07:38us neighbors, of lives, of animals, of the
00:07:41environment, of... the nature from which we feed ourselves. So here
00:07:45we raise cows, we raise vegetables, then we consume them.
00:07:48Not to mention what Vjeko said, it will go into groundwater, it will reach
00:07:52the sea, the fish that we again consume. I mean, we are poisoning
00:07:56ourselves, and that is something incredible to me, that it is happening
00:07:59like that, that it is allowed. You told me
00:08:03that for years you actually don't consume tap
00:08:06water. That's right, I had the opportunity to see photographs
00:08:09of a man who photographed what is happening here. "When I saw that
00:08:13mixture, which is probably this hill here, I got sick to my
00:08:17stomach, and I immediately told my children and my mother that we wouldn't
00:08:21drink the water, because maybe it's not currently in the water flow, but as
00:08:24Vjeko would say, goodbye common sense when it reaches the
00:08:28tap, because then we truly have nothing more to look for. But it's a psychological
00:08:31barrier for me, and I've been buying water since 21,
00:08:34and I won't stop buying it. I'm very disappointed
00:08:38that Lika, which was synonymous with beautiful, healthy, cold..."
00:08:42cold water, which was more refreshing than anything else for anyone who
00:08:46comes here, that its quality is
00:08:48questionable, its quality,
00:08:52and our future, our health are questionable. So, just
00:08:55to conclude, you organized a protest. What are the next
00:08:58actions and what do you expect? Well,
00:09:01we expect all those demands, or rather, all those conclusions
00:09:05from the meeting held at the ministry on July 28th,
00:09:07to be fulfilled. Now we actually see that
00:09:11these deadlines are urgent. We must
00:09:14know all the exact deadlines for remediation by the end of this month,
00:09:18at the latest by the beginning of September. This means what
00:09:21kind of remediation is happening, and within what
00:09:24deadlines. It's a shame that up until today,
00:09:28all public health authorities in the Republic of Croatia, from the Ministry
00:09:32of Health to the institutes for public health, Andrija Štampar and
00:09:35all of them, should already announce tomorrow. They must provide
00:09:39guidelines to the citizens of Gospić and Lika
00:09:42on how to act based on these conclusions from the findings and opinions,
00:09:46where we, we no longer see a potential
00:09:49threat, we already see pollution that has
00:09:52occurred, pollution that is threatening. It is a shame
00:09:56that a year and a half after the affair was discovered, there has been no
00:09:59synergy of all state bodies to
00:10:03protect their citizens. That is their duty, for which they receive
00:10:06a salary. This obligation has been missing until today, and that is why
00:10:09we demand accountability from those who are responsible for it, who failed to
00:10:13act in a timely manner. But we hope that from tomorrow we will move in a different
00:10:17direction: urgent remediation, urgent public health instructions
00:10:21to the citizens of Gospić and Lika on how to behave, not just
00:10:24Lika. And the Croatian islands of Rab and Pag, given
00:10:28that they are supplied with water from Lika's waterworks, from Lika's
00:10:32groundwater, which flows downstream, and let's
00:10:35finally, people, act responsibly towards the area in which
00:10:39we live. What we have worked hard to acquire, let's not
00:10:42destroy it, but let's preserve it. Thank you
00:10:45very much. We have heard what the citizens
00:10:48of Gospić have to say. Unfortunately, this is a much wider and much
00:10:52bigger problem than just the city of Gospić. We will certainly
00:10:56continue to follow this
00:10:57story.
00:11:00That's right, Katarina, thank you and your guests. More about these truly
00:11:03very worrying findings that we learned today
00:11:07publicly. Katarina Plantak reports in
00:11:09the news.
00:11:17The published report on the illegal waste landfill in Lika confirms
00:11:21what Most has been warning about for months, the party stated, and
00:11:24demanded. immediate remediation of the source of pollution,
00:11:27independent testing of groundwater, publication of all documents, and
00:11:31criminal prosecution of those responsible.
00:11:35Who today is seeking political points? We were persecuted for
00:11:38that, but we, as Most, have been saying all along that it is not about a
00:11:42political issue, but an issue of national
00:11:45security of the Republic of Croatia, because Lika as such is the heart
00:11:49of Croatia, where not only water but also human lives are endangered.
00:11:53On August 1st, we announced criminal charges that will
00:11:56include all actors who participated
00:12:00in this, from companies that are on
00:12:03USKOK's protocol, to Šinsek and his company
00:12:06Resurs, to local self-government, all mayors
00:12:09and prefects who participated in this, and even the drivers who
00:12:13received money to allow this waste to be dumped in
00:12:16Gospić and cause such damage, which USKOK
00:12:20itself confirmed.
00:12:21confirmed.
00:12:27Tomorrow, two laws will go into public discussion that should increase
00:12:31veterans' pensions. This government move, announced by Andrej Plenković yesterday
00:12:34in Knin for the autumn. Minister Tomo Medved today revealed more details
00:12:38about the planned changes that should cover around 200,000
00:12:42veterans. Through the law on active military personnel, the reduction from
00:12:452002 will be abolished, and the law on veterans
00:12:49will introduce a new calculation and valuation of the combat
00:12:52sector.
00:12:55We still need to abolish the third reduction, the one from
00:12:592002. year, and that is why through
00:13:03amendments to the Law on Active Military Personnel and Authorized
00:13:06Official Persons, we will abolish
00:13:09the reduction of 8 to 20% for those
00:13:13Croatian veterans, soldiers, police officers who were
00:13:17retired on that basis.
00:13:20We will also amend the Law on Croatian Veterans.
00:13:23Let's remind which law we're talking about. So, it is
00:13:27about a law that I initiated the drafting of
00:13:30in partnership with associations on the first day I took over the ministry
00:13:34in 2016. In
00:13:38that time, we corrected many injustices, filled
00:13:41many gaps, and
00:13:44today, after many years of application,
00:13:48another amendment to that law follows. This
00:13:51amendment will relate to the method of calculating
00:13:55supplements for Croatian veterans who
00:13:59retired under that law. What I would like
00:14:02to highlight as particularly important, and this is an occasion today
00:14:08Mrežnica, where the 14th Home Guard Regiment Slunj
00:14:11set out to liberate Slunj, is the valuation of the combat
00:14:15sector. Every month spent in
00:14:18the combat sector will be specially valued through
00:14:22the financial calculation of their
00:14:25pensions.
00:14:29Medved also responded to criticism from the Možemo! party. He says their
00:14:33legislative proposals were sweeping and applied to a smaller number
00:14:36of veterans, which is why the government did not adopt them. On the other hand, Damir Bakić
00:14:40highlighted on our new day that their legislative proposals
00:14:44were delayed in Parliament, and that the government eventually repackaged
00:14:47them and presented them as their own.
00:14:51But I would say that this was an extorted move. It was perfectly
00:14:55clear, perfectly clear from all, how should
00:14:58I say, all indicators, from our contacts. We went through
00:15:02maybe 10 or 15 larger Croatian cities
00:15:06in our campaign, and the response was the same everywhere. We always
00:15:09received uh
00:15:12extremely, uh, how should I put it, extremely strong,
00:15:15open, undivided support for the idea that
00:15:19this issue should have been opened.
00:15:22Uh, the argumentation, as I said... was never
00:15:25refuted, and it seems to me that
00:15:28the government had nowhere else to go but, as unfortunately
00:15:32happens in our, well, political
00:15:34milieu, uh, not to, uh...
00:15:38uh, constructively agree to a
00:15:41discussion on a proposal that came from the opposition, as it
00:15:45never did, mind you, but to
00:15:48destroy that proposal and then very quickly
00:15:52repackage it and present it as
00:15:54their own.
00:15:57Celebrations of the 31st anniversary of Operation
00:16:01Storm continue across Croatia today
00:16:04on the Mrežnica is named after the 14th Home Guard Regiment. Slunj,
00:16:08which on the second day of Operation Storm in 1995
00:16:11entered Slunj, Rakovica and Cetingrad. They also crossed
00:16:15the bridge that enemy forces had mined, and the engineers
00:16:19repaired the bridge on the Mrežnica on the night of August 6th.
00:16:33It's the peak of the heatwave. Croatia today
00:16:36expects. sunny, extremely hot weather, temperatures in
00:16:40most of the country are already between 34 and
00:16:4239°C, which is why a Red Warning is in effect
00:16:46for all of Croatia today. In the afternoon, with cloud development,
00:16:49local showers with thunderstorms are possible, especially
00:16:53in mountainous areas in the interior and Istria
00:16:56and Dalmatia, which will bring some relief. Local
00:16:59storms are possible
00:17:01there.
00:17:04And the extremely low water level of the Danube near Vukovar has disrupted
00:17:08river traffic. The river is so shallow in some parts that cargo
00:17:11ships can no longer sail, which has almost completely halted traffic
00:17:15in the port of Vukovar. According to the latest data, the water level has
00:17:19fallen by 73 cm in some parts of the navigation channel,
00:17:22the depth is barely more than one meter. Because of this,
00:17:26ships are forced to wait for more favorable conditions or reduce cargo.
00:17:29In the port of Vukovar, they point out that there has been no navigation for ten days,
00:17:33and they warn that if the water level does not increase
00:17:36soon, they could lose part of the contracted
00:17:39traffic.
00:17:42We have the so-called Mohovo Canal. So,
00:17:45maybe you could have filmed that there are
00:17:48three convoys parked there, that currently,
00:17:52meaning neither cargo nor tourist section,
00:17:55so no cruise ship is sailing,
00:17:58none. What is important for you here is that
00:18:01you are suffering, you are causing a loss of income.
00:18:05Not a small one. We have... in the last month
00:18:08signed contracts with our business partners
00:18:11for about 200,000 tons of goods that were supposed to be
00:18:15brought and unloaded in the Port of
00:18:18Vukovar. Uh, the potential income
00:18:20we are talking about is 800,000 euros. Mm, two
00:18:24convoys with certain types
00:18:27of goods set off from the Port of Constanta. They are located at
00:18:31some 500-550 km, waiting anchored, and
00:18:35waiting for better draft and a better Danube. How long will that
00:18:38be? Some predictions are that it won't be before
00:18:41September 1st.
00:18:45And those who have lived their whole lives next to the Danube do not remember such a receding
00:18:49river.
00:18:52I mean, I just can't believe it. I was here recently
00:18:56and I first heard about it, and when I came here I was shocked that
00:19:00it was because of what, probably it has something to do with this drought, right?
00:19:03Clearly, these are all climate changes, and
00:19:08"unfortunately, I'm a bit pessimistic about it, I believe it will be much, much
00:19:11worse in the near future. Not walkable yet, not
00:19:15yet, in a few days, it will be possible in a few days if it continues
00:19:18like this. That's the problem there, and it's
00:19:21narrow and shallow there. And all those are parked
00:19:25in Šaringrad, mostly, and in Ilok, and
00:19:29these, this one won't come out for another month.
00:19:32"
00:19:36Hungary is going further in savings due to extremely low river
00:19:40levels. The new decision is to turn off ornamental lighting in all state institutions
00:19:44at night, as the record low Danube water level forces the country to shut down
00:19:47its only nuclear power plant, which uses the river for cooling,
00:19:51pushing electricity supply capacities to their limits.
00:19:54Hungarian companies and households are reducing electricity
00:19:58consumption this week after the government's appeal to reduce
00:20:02grid.
00:20:11Iran, according to a possible agreement with Oman, could take control of
00:20:15ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important
00:20:18routes for energy transport, according to Iranian regional
00:20:21sources. Such an agreement would represent a major concession to Tehran
00:20:25and significantly change the balance of power in the region, but the American side has not
00:20:29commented on this proposal yet. US President Donald Trump
00:20:32stated that an agreement on reopening the strait is close, but
00:20:36earlier Washington announced that it would not accept Iranian
00:20:39control over that key maritime route. Iran also warned Persian Gulf
00:20:43countries that any new US attack could provoke
00:20:47a response targeting energy infrastructure in
00:20:50the region.
00:20:53Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the latest American proposal for
00:20:57the Gaza Strip, stating that Israel will not accept a plan that does not
00:21:01guarantee its security. Netanyahu said that Donald Trump's
00:21:04administration's proposal is unacceptable and that Israel has submitted its
00:21:08objections to Washington. Although the plan foresees a gradual withdrawal
00:21:11of the Israeli army after the complete disarmament of Hamas, the Israeli
00:21:15Prime Minister emphasized that Israel's survival is not subject to negotiations.
00:21:19In the meantime, Hamas claims it has accepted the proposal and called on the United
00:21:23States to pressure Israel to reach
00:21:26a ceasefire
00:21:27agreement.
00:21:31Two Israeli soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon, the Israeli army announced,
00:21:35while at least one person was killed in Israeli retaliatory attacks,
00:21:39according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Yesterday, the Israeli army
00:21:42began attacks in southern Lebanon in response to what it called
00:21:46Hezbollah's violation of the truce. Israeli local media reported
00:21:50that two soldiers were killed and four wounded when an explosive device
00:21:53detonated in the area where they were operating in the south. The Lebanese
00:21:57Ministry of Health announced that one person was killed and twelve were wounded
00:22:01in the Israeli attack. The outbreak of settlements coincides with the latest
00:22:04round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon in Rome. The two countries in
00:22:08June agreed to a security arrangement brokered by
00:22:12Washington, the aim of which was to ease hostilities along
00:22:15the border. Israel, however, said it would maintain a security zone
00:22:18in Southern Lebanon to remove the threat of the Hezbollah group
00:22:22which is supported by
00:22:23Iran.
00:22:27In Japan, the 81st anniversary of the American
00:22:30nuclear attack on Hiroshima is being commemorated, which was the first such attack
00:22:33in history. Since August 6, 1945,
00:22:37when the US dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city, accelerating
00:22:41the end of World War II. By the end of that year, from the explosion
00:22:44itself, and from injuries and illnesses caused by
00:22:47radiation, about 140,000 people died.
00:22:51About 50,000 people from 123 countries, including
00:22:54survivors, paid tribute today with a minute of silence at the Hiroshima
00:22:58Peace Memorial Park, after the Peace Bell rang
00:23:02exactly at 8:15 local time, the time the
00:23:05bomb was dropped. The bomb, weighing about 4 tons, killed everyone within
00:23:09500 meters and destroyed 90% of the city. Three days
00:23:13after Hiroshima, the US dropped a bomb on Nagasaki,
00:23:16killing about 74,000 people.
00:23:24Zlatko Dalić returns to the Middle East after nine years at the helm of the Croatian
00:23:28national football team. The former coach will take over the national team
00:23:31of the United Arab Emirates. According to 24 Sata,
00:23:35Dalić will soon travel to Dubai, where he is expected to sign a multi-year
00:23:39contract with the local football federation. He accepted the new engagement
00:23:42after a vacation and discussions with his family. He had previously stated that
00:23:46he was more attracted to national team coaching than club work. His debut on the bench
00:23:51at the Persian Gulf Cup. He should bring some of his staff with him, with whom he has
00:23:55worked for years in the Croatian national team. Dalić already knows
00:23:58football in the Emirates well, where he successfully led Al-Ain
00:24:02from 2014 to 2017.
00:24:05Financial terms are also one of the reasons for his departure. According to
00:24:09media reports, Dalić's annual salary in Dubai could
00:24:12amount to around 5 million euros.
00:24:15euros.
00:24:19FIFA apologized to its member associations for errors in the withdrawn
00:24:22proposal to sell part of the commercial rights for the World Cup. After
00:24:26a crisis meeting in Morocco, the organization's leadership once again expressed
00:24:30full support for President Gianni Infantino. In a statement after
00:24:33the meeting, FIFA admitted that the proposal should have been presented and
00:24:37managed differently, and announced a review of the entire
00:24:40process. A letter of apology was sent to council members and all
00:24:43national football associations. The controversial plan envisioned
00:24:46the sale of a 20% stake in a new entity that would manage
00:24:50the commercial rights for the World Cup. This was intended to
00:24:53raise approximately 4.2 billion dollars for the development
00:24:56of football. The proposal was withdrawn last week after harsh criticism from UEFA
00:25:00and numerous members who accused FIFA of lack of transparency and poor
00:25:04management. Despite the criticism, the leadership of the global football
00:25:07organization stated that it still has full confidence in
00:25:10Infantino and announced that it will take all necessary measures to
00:25:14protect its reputation.
00:25:15organizations.
00:25:20However, despite this apology, more and more national organizations are turning away from
00:25:23Infantino. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that he has no confidence in
00:25:26him.
00:25:30The idea that proper governance is not to disclose to your
00:25:33closest advisers, your chief operating officer, uh, your
00:25:37fellow board members, uh, something of consequence that you're even
00:25:41considering, let alone proposing, uh,
00:25:43that,
00:25:46that's fatal, uh, should be fatal uh, and you lose...
00:26:10And how the heatwave we have been in for a long time will treat us
00:26:14in the coming hours tomorrow knows our Bojan
00:26:17Lipovščak.
00:26:19Good day, what kind of weather awaits us today? According to the satellite image,
00:26:23we are still in an area of clear weather
00:26:27over our regions. The jet stream passes
00:26:30north of the Alps in it, larger amounts
00:26:33of unstable air are moving, but it will
00:26:37not affect us, all of that will pass north of the Alps, only our
00:26:40northwestern inland regions, we can
00:26:43expect a small change in weather, but that's only tomorrow,
00:26:47today until the end of the day, still under the influence
00:26:50of an anticyclone, instabilities are
00:26:53mostly over the Alps and in
00:26:56Slovenia and Austria, so only in the afternoon
00:26:59hours we see... a cloud towards
00:27:03the west when we turn, but there are no
00:27:06significant precipitation yet in sight for
00:27:09today. On the Adriatic, we have
00:27:12the occurrence of occasional weak
00:27:16development of daytime cloudiness, so isolated cumulonimbus clouds
00:27:19are appearing, which bring showers only in
00:27:23very limited places, and this is mostly
00:27:27associated with the afternoon development over
00:27:30the Dinarides.
00:27:33Today sunny, warm, inland a light northeasterly
00:27:37wind will blow, on the Adriatic
00:27:40light to moderate mistral, slightly stronger
00:27:44only in the open sea
00:27:46of the middle and southern Adriatic, highest daily
00:27:50temperatures from warm 38 in
00:27:53Slavonia and Baranja to
00:27:5735°W
00:27:59on the Adriatic, mostly hot.
00:28:02There is not a large amount of moisture in the atmosphere, so
00:28:06the weather is not as humid as it was during
00:28:09the last heatwave. This heatwave
00:28:13is slowly leaving us, with its
00:28:16maximum most likely
00:28:18tomorrow. In short, today
00:28:21sunny, hot, with
00:28:24a mistral on the Adriatic, we are still under a heatwave
00:28:28that is nevertheless moving east.
00:28:32Sea temperatures are high from 36 to
00:28:3638°C,
00:28:39and the ultraviolet index is high and very
00:28:42high.

00:29:50me on video link is colleague Esmir
00:29:53Milavić, editor of foreign policy for N1 Bosnia and
00:29:56Herzegovina, Esmir is in Sarajevo, Esmir, welcome to N1
00:30:00Croatia, good morning.
00:30:04Let's start with the USA and Iran,
00:30:07these renewed new negotiations,
00:30:11new blockades, questions of what will happen with the Strait of Hormuz,
00:30:14Donald Trump announced that the Iranians
00:30:18had conducted all-day
00:30:21negotiations, but again, obviously in his own style,
00:30:24he said and threatened, there will be, there will be retaliation,
00:30:28there will be strong attacks on Iran if an agreement
00:30:31is not reached. No, what is
00:30:34the current situation when negotiations are concerned,
00:30:38Iran could get the right to control ships
00:30:42entering the Persian
00:30:43Gulf.
00:30:46What we currently know is that the Iranians are conducting
00:30:49negotiations with Oman, not conducting negotiations with
00:30:52Americans, because as the American president says, if there isn't
00:30:56something, there will be something, this practically means.
