00:02:33We know and feel it both ways, we are still in a heatwave that is peaking today,
00:02:37and what tomorrow brings, as well as the weekend ahead, Bojan
00:02:41Lipovščak will tell us in the weather forecast.
00:02:42Good evening, what weather
00:02:45awaits us until the end of this week?
00:02:49We are still under the influence of the high
00:02:52pressure ridge of the Azore anticyclone,
00:02:55however, a larger amount of unstable air
00:02:58has reached the European continent and is located
00:03:01north of the Alpine barrier.
00:03:04This unstable air in the jet stream
00:03:08mostly passes north of the Alps. Above
00:03:11the Alpine barrier, we have strong development of daily cloud cover,
00:03:14cumulonimbus clouds. We expect
00:03:17large storms further north,
00:03:20meaning over Slovakia, over the Czech Republic,
00:03:24part of Hungary towards the Carpathians.
00:03:28Here, there will be less cloudiness,
00:03:31mostly in the northwestern parts
00:03:34of the interior and on the northern Adriatic due to
00:03:37the passage of a weakened cold
00:03:40front. The heatwave continues in the
00:03:44south of Dalmatia and in the east, in
00:03:47Slavonia, Baranja, and Srijem. So
00:03:51the morning temperatures in the interior will
00:03:54still be high, a warm night, with temperatures
00:03:57above 20 degrees, only in
00:04:00mountainous areas below 20.
00:04:04On the Adriatic, temperatures remain tropical, a warm
00:04:07night of 23 to
00:04:1125°C. With a weak bura and its
00:04:14foehn effect, temperatures can reach up to
00:04:1827°C in places.
00:04:20The highest daily temperatures in the
00:04:22northwestern parts of the interior will be slightly lower
00:04:26due to the incoming cold front that we expect tomorrow, where the temperature
00:04:30will be around 31-30°C.
00:04:34On the Adriatic
00:04:37and in the east, the heatwave will continue with
00:04:40temperatures from 37 and even
00:04:43up to 38°C
00:04:45in the far
00:04:47northeast, in Slavonia and
00:04:51Baranja. The further
00:04:54development of the weather situation is under
00:04:57the influence of a cold air front that will
00:05:00descend, however, it will mostly
00:05:03descend behind the Carpathians, so
00:05:07we will again see an increase in air
00:05:10temperature, a new influx of warm air
00:05:14from Africa and the Mediterranean, so this
00:05:17short episode of colder weather will only last
00:05:21a few days, as we can see
00:05:24from the temperature graph, from
00:05:28Thursday there will be a small drop in air temperature, and then
00:05:32from Monday, air temperatures will again
00:05:35return to high
00:05:38values above
00:05:3930°C.
00:05:42Uh, an interesting phenomenon is thunderstorms and
00:05:45showers that will be mostly on
00:05:48Saturday and Friday in the
00:05:51interior and partially on the
00:05:55northern Adriatic, mostly Istria
00:05:58and Gorski Kotar, and a little on Kvarner.
00:06:02On the Adriatic, air temperatures will also slightly
00:06:05drop to
00:06:0633°C,
00:06:09while nights will remain warm.
00:06:13In short, we can expect
00:06:16with sea temperatures from 25 to
00:06:2027°, that on the Adriatic, nights will be
00:06:23warm and hot in the
00:06:27coming period, and when
00:06:29we look until the end of the week and for
00:06:33the weekend, in the interior it will be partly cloudy,
00:06:36rare showers with thunderstorms. On the
00:06:39northern Adriatic, a short wind will blow...
00:06:42in the south the south wind
00:06:45will continue in the southern Adriatic with warm and hot
00:06:49weather. The UV index
00:06:53is high and very high, so do not stay in
00:06:56the sun during the hottest midday
00:06:59heat. More about the weather can be found on our info
00:07:03channels.
00:07:06That's all for the daily review. The n1 info portal also brings you
00:07:10all important information. Stay tuned
00:07:58Good afternoon, dear viewers, welcome to the
00:08:00news.
00:08:04Part of the miners are still in the Raspotočje pit,
00:08:08coal mines in the Zedo Canton received an additional
00:08:1130 days to... verify the health insurance books for their
00:08:14employees. Miners can start being treated
00:08:17with with with the directors of the mines,
00:08:21we agreed on what they can pay at this moment,
00:08:24they signed
00:08:26agreements.
00:08:31By the end of the broadcast, among other things,
00:08:33watch.
00:08:38Fire near Konjic threatens houses and the railway,
00:08:41an engagement of helicopters from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and
00:08:44Herzegovina is expected.
00:08:49The heatwave continues, record low water level of the
00:08:52Danube, energy crisis in Hungary and
00:08:55Romania.
00:08:59Transparency International noted 1,200 examples
00:09:03of potential abuse of public resources for promoting
00:09:06parties. Of these, 70% refer
00:09:10to the intensification of public works, and what you see, therefore, the cutting
00:09:14of ribbons and opening ceremonies of public
00:09:16works.
00:09:20Anniversary of the beginning of the closure of the
00:09:22Omarska camp marked.
00:09:29Little good news for miners, not enough for
00:09:3211 of those who are still in the Raspotočje pit.
00:09:36It's good for everyone in the Zedo Canton that they can at least verify
00:09:39their health insurance books to get treatment.
00:09:44After four days of workers' disobedience due to unverified
00:09:47health insurance books, an agreement was reached between the Health Insurance Institute
00:09:51of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the administrations of three mines.
00:09:54The mines were granted an additional period of 30 days to verify
00:09:58the health insurance books for their workers. This refers to the brown coal mines of Zenica,
00:10:01Kakanj and Breza, which owe the institute a total of
00:10:05175 million convertible marks in health insurance contributions.
00:10:08They need to pay 250,000 marks
00:10:12by the end of the year, where they expect to be able
00:10:15to recover, to be able to achieve maximum production in
00:10:19the mine, where I have their promise that they will
00:10:22start paying the full amount
00:10:25of their debts. On the other hand, the Breza mine is in
00:10:28the situation it is, there is no production there, they
00:10:32are trying to dig out their face,
00:10:35mm, and they have some minimal inflows
00:10:39of funds, so they expect to start production
00:10:43in December, where we will make a new
00:10:47agreement, where they will increase their payments. Although the approval
00:10:50of an additional deadline avoided a larger crisis, the union
00:10:53warns that the roots of the problem lie in economic misalignment and
00:10:57the selling price of coal that does not follow production costs. Our
00:11:00price of
00:11:04coal we extract is more expensive than the selling price
00:11:07and those debts, of course, arise that way.
00:11:11That's the problem, the more we extract, the more we get into
00:11:14debt. We do one of the hardest, most honorable and
00:11:17fairest jobs.
00:11:20I believe that this will never happen again, that we have
00:11:24found some... solution
00:11:26that we will all fight together for all miners
00:11:29in Zedo Canton to have their contributions paid
00:11:33for both healthcare and pensions. Although the continuation
00:11:36of workers' healthcare is currently ensured, the question of the long-term
00:11:40sustainability of the system has been re-opened.
00:11:43At the same time, macroeconomic
00:11:47federal level generates significant revenue growth.
00:11:50Mining as a sector has achieved
00:11:52one billion and 170
00:11:56million mm convertible marks in revenue and
00:11:5988.2 million convertible marks
00:12:03in net profit. Some companies make a profit, some companies
00:12:07make a loss, so don't be surprised that, for example, the mining
00:12:11sector achieved, as aggregated, as a whole
00:12:14sector, net profit, especially because you have individual
00:12:17companies that achieved significant net
00:12:21profit, because this also includes
00:12:24the exploitation of ores,
00:12:27metal raw materials and so on in different
00:12:31sectors. Despite relatively low productivity per
00:12:34employee, mining records the fastest growth among the analyzed
00:12:38industry sectors, which indicates that problems in
00:12:41the functioning of individual mines require a deeper
00:12:44analysis of operations. Nataša Kerezović,
00:12:47N1.
00:12:50Several fires broke out in the Konjic area near
00:12:53the inhabited areas. Ovčari and Živašnica. Due to
00:12:57inaccessible terrain, the engagement of helicopters from the Armed Forces
00:13:01of Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected to extinguish the fire. Fires broke out in
00:13:05several locations, it is assumed that they were
00:13:07caused by the braking of a train passing through the railway
00:13:11line through that area. The fire threatens
00:13:14to spread to nearby houses and railway infrastructure
00:13:18due to the inaccessibility of the terrain, aerial extinguishing was deemed
00:13:21necessary.
00:13:26Firefighters in southeastern France are still extinguishing forest
00:13:29fires. Long periods of extreme heat have emptied
00:13:33the beds of large rivers. Due to the low water level of the Danube,
00:13:36nuclear power plants in Hungary, Romania, and Slovenia are threatened
00:13:40with reactor shutdown. Hungary and Romania are taking measures
00:13:43to save electricity.
00:13:47Bucharest has plunged into semi-darkness. Decorative
00:13:50lighting has been turned off, street lighting reduced by
00:13:53a third. In Romania, a state of energy emergency has been declared
00:13:57until the end of the month.
00:13:58It seems that we have reached this point
00:14:01due to bad decisions that were made regarding the climate
00:14:05crisis that has been going on for decades. And
00:14:08Budapest with its spectacular panoramas has turned off many
00:14:11lights. To the great regret of some tourists.
00:14:15I am very disappointed because
00:14:18I come to Budapest once in a lifetime. And last night I climbed the
00:14:22hill and waited for the lights to come on. Nothing
00:14:25happened, I was so disappointed and the approval of the local
00:14:29population. Namely, in Paks, Hungary's only
00:14:32nuclear power plant, only one reactor is operating, because the level
00:14:35of the Danube is not sufficient to cool all of them. The nuclear power plant provides about
00:14:3940% of electricity in Hungary. This is a
00:14:42minimal, minimal reaction to this whole situation. I completely
00:14:46approve and support this. I think it is
00:14:49a very good thing in the current situation. It is a very
00:14:53responsible decision, exemplary.
00:14:56One reactor is operating in Romania's Cernavodă
00:15:00nuclear power plant. In Romania, rocks that protruded from the water were raised
00:15:03into the air to redirect the Danube towards the nuclear power plant, and four
00:15:07loaded barges were submerged, in order to increase the water flow towards
00:15:11the nuclear power plant.
00:15:13Most of Europe, due to these long periods of extreme
00:15:17heat, has water levels far, far below
00:15:20what is needed for a longer period of time. This creates cooling problems
00:15:23not only for nuclear power plants, but
00:15:27also for gas-fired ones, because there is not enough water to cool
00:15:30them, not only is there not enough water, but the water temperature
00:15:33is higher, which means they are harder to cool, that's why they
00:15:37have to take such extreme
00:15:40measures. Besides the Danube, the water level of the
00:15:44Sava is also low, so the Krško nuclear power plant in Slovenia
00:15:47will reduce electricity production by 20%. Krško
00:15:50provides almost 60% of Slovenia's daily electricity
00:15:54consumption. Aleksandra Gotfra,
00:15:57N1.
00:16:00Next, again about the events in our
00:16:02country.
00:16:06An agreement was reached on further steps to resolve the status
00:16:10of dismissed communal
00:16:11workers.
00:16:17Elections are approaching, the campaign has long since started in
00:16:21the old way, the wrong way. That's why Cik
00:16:23punishes PSS, SNSD, and SDP. Transparency International
00:16:27has identified as many as 1200 examples of potential abuse
00:16:31of public resources.
00:16:34The Central Election Commission fined three political
00:16:37parties for premature election campaigns:
00:16:41the "Secure Serbian" movement 8,500 marks,
00:16:44SNSD 6,000, SDP
00:16:474,000. But since the general elections were called,
00:16:50Transparency International has sent far more reports
00:16:54to the commission. Party rallies in schools, public forums,
00:16:58billboards before the campaign, everything, says Srđan Traljić,
00:17:02indicated that a premature campaign had
00:17:05long since begun. HDZ in Vitez regularly reported,
00:17:08therefore, about every phase of the construction of some local road, or where
00:17:12SNSD boasts about paving some gravel
00:17:15road, where SDA Bugojno boasts that
00:17:19their minister allocated a million marks for local
00:17:22roads, where the president of the NPS, who has
00:17:26no public function in that sense, is not competent, visits
00:17:29public works, promotes himself, takes credit for himself. According
00:17:32to data from Transparency International Bosnia and
00:17:35Herzegovina, approximately 1,200 examples
00:17:39of potential abuse of public resources were recorded. They state
00:17:42that the value of completed public works amounted to
00:17:45126 million marks, commenced
00:17:49453 million, while for one-time
00:17:52grants from all levels of government, 45 million
00:17:55marks were allocated. But there are also other
00:17:59activities such as musical events, makeup vouchers,
00:18:02free screenings, so we also had some public
00:18:05forums. Especially in Travnik where the Party of Democratic Action organized
00:18:08over nine public forums, gatherings with citizens where they
00:18:12said they gathered citizens to hear their
00:18:15needs and to determine the direction of action. Srđan Traljić adds
00:18:19that unlike previous election cycles, reports of
00:18:22aggressive premature campaigns did not yield
00:18:26results. Like this campaign "Be in motion" which
00:18:30was led by PSS in Banja Luka, so they were
00:18:33not sanctioned, it was... So, their explanation was
00:18:37that they had rented these billboards until the day the elections were called,
00:18:41however, they remained standing during this election period, however,
00:18:44that very contract, that it was
00:18:48rented until the day the elections were called, was sufficient evidence
00:18:52to reject the complaint. Because of all
00:18:55the above, Transparency believes that the Central Election
00:18:59Commission has obviously raised the tolerance threshold, because
00:19:03despite numerous complaints they sent, for
00:19:06many, it did not consider that they had elements of violation
00:19:09of the election law. Dragica Pejaković,
00:19:13N1.
00:19:14Mostar.
00:19:17Layoffs at the communal company in Mostar are still in
00:19:21the public's focus. Dismissed workers were supposed to have
00:19:24individual interviews with the mayor, but
00:19:28most of them did not respond to the invitation. However,
00:19:31a collective meeting was held with the company's management. It was agreed
00:19:34that the legal representatives of the workers and the company
00:19:38should try to agree on a written
00:19:41statement, which should facilitate the Supervisory Board's
00:19:43decision.
00:19:46After several days of bickering and exchanging messages via social networks,
00:19:50the mayor of Mostar and the president of the city council sat down today with the dismissed
00:19:54workers and the management of the public utility company. Although both sides
00:19:57remain convinced that they acted correctly, positions were brought closer
00:20:00after the meeting, and everything, as they claim, is moving in the direction of workers returning to their
00:20:04jobs. At this meeting, it was agreed
00:20:08that the legal representative
00:20:10of the workers, together with the legal representative
00:20:14of the company who advises or represents
00:20:17the management, will draft a
00:20:20statement, perhaps an explanation in which
00:20:24the workers will clearly
00:20:27state their
00:20:31position regarding work obligations,
00:20:34the ongoing process, and what they have done
00:20:37so far, to answer all of us whether they
00:20:41really refused a work
00:20:44obligation or had some other intention.
00:20:47The mayor, on the other hand, claims that the workers were under
00:20:50some pressure all the time, first when they refused work assignments, and now, as he says, when
00:20:54they need to present their view of the controversial case. It saddens me that
00:20:58most of them, not all, but most of them
00:21:01refused a one-on-one meeting,
00:21:04mm, as I see from this collective meeting, it was some kind of
00:21:08common position of someone who
00:21:11suggested to them that they do not need to talk to the
00:21:13mayor, this is not for me, but that it should be in some
00:21:17group so that they would be, I guess, stronger. and whatever else
00:21:20they are trying, I don't know, but anyway, I still agreed to this collective meeting, again wanting
00:21:24to show that it is very important for me to bring the
00:21:28city back to some kind of normal functioning, as the most important
00:21:31conclusion of the meeting, I highlight the joint willingness to enable workers to
00:21:35return to work. I again appeal for politics to stay as far away
00:21:38as possible from the communal company, then I am sure we will succeed if
00:21:42some things happen again, prompting from
00:21:46the side, do it this way, do it that way, I'm afraid
00:21:49we'll just get stuck and go in circles. The union says that
00:21:53such a meeting should have been held much earlier and that the lack
00:21:56of timely communication with the company's management is one of the key
00:22:00problems. One positive thing, a positive
00:22:03thing, some positions have been aligned, the mayor
00:22:06and the president of the city council had the opportunity to hear
00:22:10both the workers and their views and their
00:22:14problems they face. This is
00:22:16a difficult period for them, difficult for
00:22:20those who lost their jobs, difficult for all workers of the communal public enterprise
00:22:24who are now working. According to the mayor, legal representatives will
00:22:28seek a solution, and the supervisory board of the company will give its judgment on the entire
00:22:31case. Workers remain optimistic and hope that the process will end
00:22:35with their return to work. Đenana Kaminić Puce, N1,
00:22:39Mostar.
00:22:42The 34th anniversary of the beginning of the disbandment of one of
00:22:46the most infamous camps in the northwest of Bosnia and
00:22:50Herzegovina was marked today at the former Omarska camp.
00:22:52The commemoration gathered former detainees,
00:22:56victims' families, representatives of associations, and all citizens who
00:23:00wanted to pay tribute to the innocent victims. According to the Association
00:23:03of Detainees, more than 3,300 Bosniak
00:23:06and Croat detainees passed through this camp, of whom,
00:23:10according to data, 700 were killed. Some detainees were
00:23:14killed at Korićanske Stijene and Hrastova Glavica, major
00:23:18killing fields in western Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dozens of detainees
00:23:22succumbed to wounds sustained during
00:23:24torture.
00:23:28I carry that trauma with me and I want to carry it.
00:23:32When I started in the Netherlands, when I started
00:23:35forgetting some things, I went to a therapist to teach me
00:23:39how to deal with it, not to forget, not to cure me, but they can't
00:23:43cure me. I said, help me not to forget it.
00:23:47My biggest, other trauma from the camp is this...
00:23:50that I was in Lovor, it was some kind of
00:23:53defense mechanism of ours. It was
00:23:57an automatism, I could remember the face of every
00:24:00child in the family, every one of the neighbors, the only
00:24:04face of my own four children I cannot. I am
00:24:07emotional when I talk about it. Our dissatisfaction is reflected in
00:24:11the fact that the direct perpetrators of these
00:24:14crimes have not yet been prosecuted. I am referring to former members of the crisis
00:24:17staff of the Serb municipality of Prijedor, then Serb Prijedor,
00:24:21who are still alive today and live here in Prijedor as free, respected
00:24:25citizens who receive benefits on the basis of what they did during that period, while
00:24:28their victims are still fighting today and marking this place to
00:24:31build a monument to innocent children for some status right that we
00:24:35unfortunately cannot get
00:24:38here yet. We gather every year on August 6th
00:24:41at this place which we consider not just a camp but a place
00:24:45that symbolizes human suffering
00:24:49where it reached the extreme limits
00:24:52of endurance according to every individual story. Those who
00:24:55went through this camp, unfortunately many of them did not, it is
00:24:59a place where we must come, we must remind, not only because of the past, to
00:25:03take revenge on the past itself, but it is a warning for
00:25:06the future.
00:25:09It's an obligation, but somehow, it's a human
00:25:12satisfaction to be here, to talk to people who have experienced
00:25:15the worst suffering, they are strong and brave enough to use their
00:25:19stories... to help in detecting perpetrators
00:25:23and masterminds, but also messages that are important for
00:25:26the future, not only of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, when we see images from
00:25:29Gaza, when we see images from Sudan, from Ukraine, other places,
00:25:32it is very important to remember what happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
00:25:35The Regulatory Agency for
00:25:38Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina officially informed five
00:25:41associations of genocide victims that it had initiated a procedure to verify and
00:25:45investigate the allegations from their joint complaint
00:25:49against RTRS. The complaint was
00:25:52filed due to a controversial segment broadcast in the central
00:25:56news program Dnevnik 2 on July 31st.
00:25:59The associations state that the segment contained
00:26:03severe insults and defamatory allegations against the surviving
00:26:06victims and mothers of Srebrenica, along with shameful insinuations about
00:26:09financial malversations and alleged enrichment at the expense
00:26:13of tragedy through statements fabricating money.
00:26:16in their official response, confirmed that
00:26:19they will officially investigate all allegations from the received
00:26:23complaint.
00:26:28The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez, the commander of NATO
00:26:32headquarters. Sarajevo, Brigadier General James Fowler,
00:26:35visited the defense industry companies in our country,
00:26:38they visited Binas in Bugojno, Bente in Novi Travnik and Pretis
00:26:42in Vogošća. General Fowler said that he saw firsthand
00:26:45the capabilities and capacities of the industry and that
00:26:49production is carried out according to Western and NATO
00:26:51standards. He said that he was most impressed by the people
00:26:55who work in these companies. The mission of NATO headquarters
00:26:58in Sarajevo and Europol supervise production in the defense industry.
00:27:19It's good to see that um the products being made are uh
00:27:23two western and NATO standards and uh
00:27:26they are um targeted on um
00:27:30on capabilities such.
00:27:37What fascinates me is the constant increase
00:27:41in the number of employees, the constant increase in productivity and
00:27:44income, specifically, compared to last year,
00:27:48these two months,
00:27:52June and July, have 2 million more in
00:27:55income compared to the same period last year,
00:27:58also, we were convinced of various
00:28:02production assortments of the BNT company in Novi
00:28:05Travnik, they also raised the level
00:28:08of income by
00:28:1050%.
00:28:13The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina officially applied for
00:28:16joining the single euro payment area,
00:28:20which represents one of the most significant steps in the process of integrating Bosnia and
00:28:23Herzegovina into the European payment area. The European Payment
00:28:27Council and other European bodies are now starting to review
00:28:31the submitted documentation. This process includes a detailed
00:28:34analysis, possibly requesting additional clarifications or amendments, and
00:28:38making a final decision on the admission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Sepa
00:28:41area.
00:28:45Next, news from around the world. Stay with
00:28:47us.
00:28:51Two Israeli soldiers killed in an explosion in clashes in southern
00:28:54Lebanon.
00:29:00Iran and Oman are in the final phase of defining the framework for navigation
00:29:04through the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran emphasizes that
00:29:07the agreement reached does not mean automatic opening of this strategic
00:29:11passage and that it directly depends on the cessation of American threats and
00:29:14sanctions. At the same time, US President Trump stated that negotiations
00:29:18are progressing and that the Strait could soon be opened,
00:29:22adding that he prefers a deal, but that the use of military force is
00:29:26still an option. Scientists warn that the months-long
00:29:29blockade of more than 1,500 ships in the Persian Gulf
00:29:33represents an ecological disaster and a risk of the spread of invasive
00:29:36marine species after the re-establishment of
00:29:39traffic.
00:29:45I'd rather make a deal because I
00:29:47don't want to kill people, I don't want to kill people, but at some
00:29:51point we're going to, we had, we were, we were set for the
00:29:55biggest attack of any attack and we've hit them very
00:29:58hard for the last few months, but we were, we were. Two
00:30:23Israeli reservists were killed, and four were seriously wounded in
00:30:27an explosion in southern Lebanon in the city of Majdal. These are the first
00:30:30Israeli casualties since the truce with Hezbollah came into effect in
00:30:34June. In response to, as they state, a violation of the truce, Israeli
00:30:37forces carried out a series of air attacks on cities in southern
00:30:41Lebanon. According to data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least
00:30:44one person was killed, while more than 12 were wounded. The new wave
00:30:48of violence interrupted negotiations between Israel and Lebanon in Rome, which are being conducted with
00:30:52US mediation. However, American officials emphasize that the
00:30:55talks on political and military issues were productive and that ...
