00:08:16of events followed, that is, this violence
00:08:19against the N1 team, so what we

00:08:25at the trial itself is that
00:08:29the representatives of uh Maja
00:08:33Nikolić and Ivan and N1 uh insisted on
00:08:36the fact that uh uh
00:08:39those witnesses who were there should also be heard, that is, not... only
00:08:42them, but also those who uh were at that
00:08:46place uh who witnessed this attack, so
00:08:49in addition to the cameras uh
00:08:53that certainly filmed this event, they should also be witnesses, the defense counsel
00:08:56uh of the accused in this case
00:08:59opposed this, because uh in that case
00:09:03it would mean that it expands, that it goes beyond the scope
00:09:07of uh the indictment, that is, the criminal offense that
00:09:11uh was prosecuted. "here presented in the indictment, you mentioned that his lawyer

00:10:21said that Maja Nikolić would be examined

00:10:27scheduled for that hearing, that is exactly the anniversary of the
00:10:31attack, that is, yes, that is the hearing at 1 PM,
00:10:35so only a few hours from the anniversary,
00:10:38I don't think it's uh
00:10:42intentional and I think it's more of a coincidence, but
00:10:46coincidences have happened many times before, I remember a situation where a trial was
00:10:50scheduled against
00:10:53the Slavko Ćuruvija Foundation. It was exactly on the day Slavko Ćuruvija was killed and so
00:10:57on, so anything can happen, then we can say that it's no longer
00:11:01a coincidence, Velan, when you mentioned that the accused was
00:11:05wearing a T-shirt with the image of Ratko Mladić and a cap,
00:11:09was that in front of the courtroom or did he enter the
00:11:12courtroom like that? Well, he I, I think I sent

00:11:40shocking to me that there was no reaction even though it was completely evident that
00:11:44it was a demonstration uh on the front of that T-shirt
00:11:47besides uh uh Ratko Mladić's cap, the convicted war
00:11:50criminal, we always have to
00:11:53emphasize that... there was a message, from your struggle
00:11:56our freedom was born, on the back
00:12:00of that T-shirt, besides uh, the image
00:12:03of Ratko Mladić, there was also the image of Patriarch Pavle and
00:12:07allegedly his quote, uh, a man is
00:12:10stronger dead than an inhumane
00:12:13person alive, I watched that the whole time
00:12:16of the trial and I truly felt it as a threat that was
00:12:20directed at everyone who in this
00:12:22case represented independent
00:12:25journalism, professional journalism, reporting, because the prosecutor
00:12:29uh uh defined this attack not only as destruction
00:12:33of equipment, a camera uh uh, but as an attack on free journalism,
00:12:36free reporting, so what happened, what we could all
00:12:40see, is not just an aggressive attack and not just
00:12:43a violent act in that area, but it is precisely
00:12:46an attack on free journalism, which, as we
00:12:49see every day, such attacks from that
00:12:53day, and the day before... that uh are multiplying
00:12:57and uh with the aim of absolutely preventing
00:13:00impartial and professional reporting, especially again
00:13:03in these days now which are extremely important and decisive for
00:13:07the future of Serbia. Veran, thank you for the conversation,

00:13:14sticking together as a newsroom and to the whole
00:13:17group for being so supportive of each other
00:13:20and I think we must not forget such
00:13:23events in... those bigger perhaps events and that
00:13:27we must always stand up for our female and male colleagues, because

00:13:34is for uh female and male journalists like
00:13:38Maja and Ivan were in this case in such situations when
00:13:41a trio appears uniformed

00:13:48a horrifying message from our uh immediate immediate

00:13:59today's hearing and questioning of the accused
00:14:02on November 20th, exactly on the day when the attack on two
00:14:06of our colleagues happened last year, there will be

00:14:35has initiated a case, a pre-investigation procedure is underway against Aleksandar
00:14:39Šapić due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed criminal acts
00:14:42of grievous bodily harm and violent behavior, the prosecution states for

00:14:50has ordered police officers to obtain and
00:14:53seize video recordings from all available security
00:14:56surveillance cameras that could have recorded the incident,
00:15:00also, the urgent center was asked to provide complete medical
00:15:04documentation for all other participants in the event, while
00:15:08for the injured party Tatjana Mićić, the public prosecutor again requested
00:15:11the provision of complete medical documentation, as stated in the prosecution's

00:15:18The leader of the "Kreni Promeni" movement, Savo Manojlović, said that
00:15:21a session of the city parliament is scheduled for Tuesday, at which
00:15:25the dismissal of Mayor Aleksandar
00:15:28Šapić will be discussed. Opposition councilors submitted a request
00:15:32on October 7th to convene an extraordinary session
00:15:35of the Belgrade City Assembly with a proposal for Šapić's
00:15:38dismissal. The initiative was launched after an incident in which
00:15:41Šapić attacked councilwoman Tatjana
