00:03:24the days of the conference, but their impact
00:03:27always extends through
00:03:30research bridges,
00:03:33Let's talk about the areas collaborations, and professional relationships that may benefit the researcher in carrying out

00:07:48who is the Director of the Partnership and Civil Society Institutions Department
00:07:51at the Directorate General of Social Development
00:07:55in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. Good evening, Ms. Rahma. Welcome to the "From
00:07:58Oman" program. We congratulate you on this qualitative
00:08:02step in the journey
00:08:02of the associations.
00:08:06Good evening, my sister Bayan. Indeed,
00:08:09we are very proud today, amid the celebrations
00:08:13of Women's Day, that we are celebrating the integrated project
00:08:17for women's associations.
00:08:19The Ministry of Social Development pays great
00:08:23attention to Omani Women's Associations
00:08:26due to their prominent role in social
00:08:30work. Yes, let's start
00:08:33with a question about the motives. What
00:08:37are the motives that made the Ministry decide
00:08:40to also develop these associations through
00:08:44this initial path?
00:08:48As I mentioned earlier, the Ministry of Social Development
00:08:51pays great attention to Omani
00:08:55Women's Associations because they have a role,
00:08:58they are a fundamental pillar in the field of social
00:09:02work. Also, women's associations have a direct
00:09:05role with women, with families, and with
00:09:07society. The role of this Ministry came
00:09:11to establish centers for family
00:09:14and community development, so that there would be an integrated
00:09:17institutional framework, and the goal of it
00:09:21is to develop the institutional performance of women's associations.
00:09:24Yes, as we know, the first

00:09:31which are Nizwa and,
00:09:35as presented today, Nizwa, and Sur. What
00:09:38are the criteria that the Ministry relied on to select these
00:09:42governorates initially and then generalize
00:09:44them to the rest
00:09:47of the governorates? In fact, the project was launched
00:09:50as an evaluative experiment
00:09:53during the two years 2026-2027.
00:09:57The selection of the women's associations, the Omani Women's Association
00:10:00in the Wilayat of Nizwa, and the Omani Women's Association in the Wilayat
00:10:03of Sur and the Wilayat of Nakhal,
00:10:06was based on the fact that these associations have a strong
00:10:10desire to be pioneers and have a strong desire to start
00:10:13the initiative. Secondly, the existence of
00:10:16a basic headquarters for these associations qualifies them
00:10:20to establish this project and launch from it. In addition
00:10:23to that, these associations attract a large number
00:10:27of female members, and thus their interaction with
00:10:30and we have seen many activities from them, similar
00:10:34to other associations, hoping that the success
00:10:37of applying this experiment
00:10:40during this period, 2026-2027,
00:10:44will be measured to include the rest of the governorates
00:10:47in the Sultanate, God willing. Even on the level of numbers,
00:10:51Ms. Rahma, the program has six
00:10:55tracks and 10 programs. How were these programs
00:10:59selected, and how were their needs determined for the community
00:11:02in those governorates?
00:11:06In fact, we as an Omani family
00:11:09community are known for a kind of social
00:11:12cohesion among us, but some external
00:11:15changes and influences may have affected
00:11:19the family cohesion. So, we need a set of
00:11:23integrated programs so that
00:11:27our programs are not limited to women themselves.
00:11:30Perhaps the programs here include a set of tracks in the field
00:11:34of women's affairs, in the field of women's economic
00:11:38empowerment, in the field of intergenerational dialogue, social
00:11:41protection, and the psychological aspect, upbringing, and childhood.
00:11:45Economic empowerment emerged as one of the most important
00:11:50about this empowerment and its importance today
00:11:53for family and community development
00:11:55centers.
00:11:58Indeed, women's associations play a great role in economically
00:12:02empowering women, but
00:12:05a kind of tradition, which are short-term workshops,
00:12:09perhaps some simple training programs. However,
00:12:13through the establishment of these centers, we hope, God willing, through
00:12:18with various partner entities, whether in the public
00:12:21sector or the private sector, that there will be real
00:12:25training and qualification for these women
00:12:27so that they can create an integrated project,
00:12:31as well as marketing and promoting
00:12:34their products and project in a better
00:12:40Yes, even in light of this openness today,
00:12:43social and psychological challenges face women.
00:12:46How will this program
00:12:49also serve
00:12:52solutions for women
00:12:55in this aspect? Indeed, the issue of social
00:12:59protection and psychological support is always a fundamental
00:13:02pillar for family cohesion
00:13:06and community enhancement. So the idea of social
00:13:09protection and psychological aspects came from a series
00:13:13of training programs that will be held, God willing,
00:13:17whether in communication skills between spouses, raising children,
00:13:21and educating generations on how to manage
00:13:25stress, how to overcome it, and how
00:13:28we face all these challenges with a series
00:13:32of programs. Thank God, we have partners from various
00:13:35entities, as I mentioned earlier, the private sector
00:13:39will be a partner so that there will be integrated
00:13:42programs that enhance
00:13:46this project today is not limited to women.
00:13:50It also includes other community groups such as children,
00:13:53youth, the elderly, and healthcare providers.
00:13:58they cover through
00:13:59this project, Ms. Rahma.
00:14:03Yes, indeed, as I mentioned, perhaps women's associations
00:14:07were concerned only with women. Now we have a center
00:14:11for family and community development. Here, a series of discussions
00:14:14and programs will be presented in the field of raising
00:14:19concerned with women, and also programs concerned
00:14:23with youth and their discussions
00:14:26and the needs of these youth, and also in the field
00:14:30of the elderly. So it will be more comprehensive, covering
00:14:33all members of society. Yes, as we mentioned,
00:14:36the project will be implemented in specific governorates,
00:14:40three governorates were mentioned. How will you measure
00:14:43the impact of success, meaning that the experiment
00:14:47has indeed succeeded in this governorate and we can generalize
00:14:50it later?
00:14:54The measurement of impact is always
00:14:57through continuous evaluation of these
00:15:01centers. Of course, there will be continuous evaluation,
00:15:04in addition to reading
00:15:07the indicators, the extent of individuals'
00:15:11response to effective participation in these centers,
00:15:15the extent of true cooperation and partnership from various
00:15:18segments of society, whether the private sector
00:15:22or the public sector or the private sector in all its forms.
00:15:35The success will be measured in terms of the impact.
00:15:39If the impact is positive, the experiment will be generalized
00:15:43to the rest of the governorates, God willing. Yes, we confirm
00:15:45that the first phase of this project is during
00:15:49the current
00:15:52year 2026 and 2027. Yes, indeed. Yes,
00:15:56your last message,
00:15:58which is an initial phase,
00:16:03is considered a foundational phase. Your last message to
00:16:06every woman who is watching
00:16:10Women's Associations in light
00:16:13blessed step in advancing the performance of Omani
00:16:18this project.
00:16:23The development of women's associations aims to
00:16:26empower women, families,
00:16:30and society, as well as to improve the institutional
00:16:33performance of associations. It is a true partnership
00:16:36in comprehensive national development within Oman Vision
00:16:402040. I invite every woman today to join these
00:16:44associations and leave her mark in light of the comprehensive
00:16:47diversity of women's associations' programs,
00:16:50moving away from the traditional aspect.
00:16:53We are now in light of the current
00:16:58of women, whether in social, cultural, empowerment,
00:17:02and family dialogues, as well as women's awareness
00:17:05in all its aspects, whether legal aspects and everything
00:17:09that concerns the family, God willing. We wish you
00:17:13all the best, God willing, in achieving your desired goals
00:17:18Thank you for joining us via this direct link, Rahma
00:17:22bint Yahya bin Al Fadl Al Abadi, Director of the Partnership
00:17:25and Civil Society Institutions Department at the Directorate General
00:17:29of Social Development in Al Dakhiliyah
00:17:30Governorate. Thank

00:17:50Omani company. Stay with us.
00:20:36Welcome back, dear ones, to tonight's
00:20:39segments of your program "From Oman." We are also following
00:20:42these national developments with great pride.
00:20:46In this segment, we celebrate an Omani
00:20:49achievement related to Thawani
00:20:53reflects the growing capabilities of our local companies
00:20:57in the financial technology
00:20:59sector. Specifically, Thawani Omani
00:21:03is on Forbes Middle East's list of the top 50 financial
00:21:07technology companies in the region for 2026.
00:21:10What does this achievement reflect? Details with our esteemed
00:21:13guest. On your behalf, dear viewers, we welcome
00:21:16the Head of Thawani Company, Ahmed bin Saleh
00:21:20Al Harithi. Good evening, sir.
00:21:22program. We congratulate and all of Oman.
00:21:26Good evening. Thank you very much for this introduction.
00:21:30May God bless you. This is truly a great
00:21:34achievement. The idea is to continue, thank God.
00:21:39years, exactly.
00:21:42From the very beginning, from the first year after
00:21:45we were included in this list,
00:21:48we decided that we must
00:21:52be present every year because we carry the name of Oman,
00:21:55and every year our goal is to be present, and God willing,
00:21:59these achievements will continue
00:22:02God willing. And we are honored
00:22:06years in the list of the top 50
00:22:10companies in the field of financial technologies. Today,
00:22:13a general viewer is watching us. Let's introduce them
00:22:17to Thawani. What financial solutions does it offer
00:22:20today, both locally and internationally?
00:22:23founded in 2016,
00:22:26specializing in financial technologies, offering smart
00:22:29financial solutions.
00:22:33it obtained a license from the Central Bank in 2020
00:22:36and started expanding its operations. It now owns
00:22:40more than ten products
00:22:43with their branches, and more in the market, all serving
00:22:46users and merchants. It offers smart
00:22:50financial solutions that were not available
00:22:55solutions and launching them in the markets for users
00:22:58and merchants. Yes, what distinguishes Thawani today
00:23:02in the digital payment market? It's the speed.
00:23:05Thawani is always fast, as its name suggests,
00:23:11speed in achievement,
00:23:14speed in development, and speed in growth,
00:23:17thank God. So, our goal is always speed in everything.
00:23:21We also, during our preparation for these
00:23:24axes, found figures that we read
00:23:27with pride today with the esteemed viewer. We are talking
00:23:30about the company having processed financial transactions
00:23:32exceeding 428 million dollars during
00:23:362025, and the number
00:23:39of its users exceeded 216,000
00:23:42users, with a network of more than
00:23:44500 or 5,500
00:23:48merchants. How do you read these indicators
00:23:52today? We read them with great pride, thank God.
00:23:55These are more than just statistics for 2025.
00:23:58Today, we are talking about 2026. What do these indicators
00:24:02reflect today? In reality,
00:24:06as wonderful as they are for us, they also bring
00:24:09a great responsibility. They hold us responsible
00:24:13to expand our services, as you
00:24:16mentioned. The number is more than 25,000,
00:24:20and also 5,500 merchants. Providing excellent
00:24:24quality service, as well as the financial
00:24:27growth of Thawani company,
00:24:33is not affected by the
00:24:36speed. Yes, these figures always
00:24:39motivate us to increase them every year,
00:24:42and God willing, we will announce different figures for 2026
00:24:46than these, God willing. Today, the competition
00:24:50in the financial technology sector is very
00:24:53fierce in the region. To what extent do you strive
00:24:57to keep up with these changes and be proactive
00:25:00in offering these financial solutions? Thank God,
00:25:03the distinctive feature of Thawani is that
00:25:06all the programmers, both young men and women,
00:25:10whom we greet, are located within the company. Yes,
00:25:13this gives strength to the speed of execution. I mean, the product
00:25:17is created in seconds,
00:25:20and then launched in the markets. So there is also
00:25:23speed in innovating these products
00:25:26so that competitors,
00:25:29competitors in a certain aspect. And of course,
00:25:33there are many stages for the product. I mean,
00:25:36it starts with an idea,
00:25:40and then you get licenses from the Central Bank and licenses
00:25:43from the relevant authorities,
00:25:46and then you market it and deliver it to the customer.
00:25:50So here, speed in and speed in also
00:25:54modifying and changing
00:25:56any product. We
00:25:58have all of this. This is the distinct secret of Thawani.
00:26:02Yes, yes, yes. Today, you offer various solutions,
00:26:06for example, but not limited to, Mojib business
00:26:10card, electronic payment gateways, payment links,
00:26:13and point-of-sale technologies via smart devices.
00:26:16How do these solutions contribute to speeding up
00:26:20business operations for you? All of them, sister Bayan,
00:26:23were designed for these institutions.
00:26:27They look at the existing problems.
00:26:30I mean, if we assume, for example, the Mojib
00:26:33business card. The Mojib business card is for expense
00:26:37management for small and medium-sized
00:26:40enterprises and also for large enterprises.
00:26:43It's a complete financial system for expense management,
00:26:47because we found that there's a problem.
00:26:50look for the challenges that merchants or institutions
00:26:54face so that we can address them. We are talking
00:26:58about electronic payment gateways. What distinguishes
00:27:02Thawani is that it has a testing environment
00:27:05for all merchants. Any merchant who wants a testing environment
00:27:09can try this service before connecting it.
00:27:12Also, the speed of connection.
00:27:14Our programmers can help them in one way
00:27:17or another. So all of this is focused
00:27:21on addressing the challenges of merchants and institutions.
00:27:25We seek to provide them with solutions.
00:27:28Yes, yes. Today,
00:27:31transformations in the financial sector is the reliance
00:27:35on modern technologies. To what extent do you
00:27:39smart technologies,
00:27:42digital acceleration, while maintaining trust,
00:27:45credibility, and transparency? This is a difficult
00:27:49equation, but thank God, most of our
00:27:52products are launched for the first time with us;
00:27:56they are not available in the market before.
00:28:00For example, we used
00:28:02to have payments via cards. We also have
00:28:06Mojib for business. We have many products.
00:28:10We also have Mojib and Mojib Go. All these
00:28:13products are new and unique. So here, how
00:28:17do you distinguish yourself and how do you
00:28:20offer a high-quality service that matches
00:28:23the partnerships
00:28:25and trust that we work on?
00:28:29And thank God, we now have a direct partnership
00:28:33with Visa. Visa is undoubtedly global.
00:28:37It looks at transparency and
00:28:40let's say quality, etc., among the criteria.
00:28:45among the entities in Oman,
00:28:48we have gained great trust from
00:28:51many government entities, and we have signed
00:28:54agreements with them and are working on many
00:28:58projects with them. And this, as I said
00:29:01at the beginning, gives us greater responsibility
00:29:04for the future, God willing. Yes, also in terms
00:29:07of financial inclusion, the digital economy,
00:29:11supporting entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized
00:29:14enterprises. How can these institutions
00:29:17or you, as Thawani, or financial technology
00:29:20companies in general, contribute to supporting
00:29:24all these paths? The digital
00:29:26economy and financial solutions are among the most
00:29:29important pillars. And in all our
00:29:33plans, we keep Oman Vision 2040
00:29:36in mind. So, it must align and be compatible
00:29:40with this vision. And undoubtedly,
00:29:43Thawani, thank God, is a leader in the field
00:29:47of financial technologies, and God willing, it will have
00:29:50a significant role in the future in this aspect. We talked
00:29:54a little while ago about a group of products,
00:29:56some of which are related to government institutions
00:30:00or even private businesses and even small
00:30:04and medium-sized enterprises. What services do you offer
00:30:07to the entire community that the community can
00:30:10benefit from and use
00:30:14of its financial movement, etc.? Yes, many
00:30:17products for users. Many products are available
00:30:21at Thawani. For example,
00:30:25we have the electronic wallet, and it contains
00:30:28several cards. So, whatever suits the client
00:30:31now, he can own a card without
00:30:35meeting anyone from Thawani. He can order it online
00:30:39and it will be delivered to his doorstep. It does
00:30:42not have numbers. All the numbers are secret,
00:30:46and only he can see them. There are other
00:30:49cards that he can get
00:30:52and link them. They are Visa cards that he can use
00:30:55anywhere in the world.
