00:03:28detail and first we will be talking. about prime minister Shahbas
00:03:32Sharif who has departed for the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this is a
00:03:36three-day visit from the sixth of August to the 8th of August. The
00:03:39prime minister is accompanied by a high level delegation comprising
00:03:43chief of defense forces, field marshall sidas in Manir and other
00:03:54Sharif has embarked a three-day official visit to the kingdom of Saudi
00:03:57Arabia from August 6 to 8 during. the visit prime minister is

00:04:05field marshall sayyad asim munier, federal ministers and other senior
00:04:08officials. the prime minister will meet
00:04:10of the a in crown prince of
00:04:11of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman. according to the foreign office, in the
00:04:14meeting, discussions will focus on consolidating the Pakistan, Saudi
00:04:18Arabia bilateral relations as well as exchange of views on
00:04:22regional and international developments of mutual interest. discussion will
00:04:25focus on consolidating the Pakistan, Saudi Arabia bilateral
00:04:29relations. ship as well as exchange of views on areas
00:04:33of regional and international developments of mutual interest.
00:04:37the visit marks Pakistan's longstanding partnership with the kingdom of Saudi
00:04:40Arabia encored in decades of mutual trust, cooperation and
00:04:44brotherhood. foreign office has said that, although
00:04:47the visit is taking place against the backdrop of height and tensions in the Gulf,
00:04:51the visit carries significance beyond the immediate crisis and short-term
00:04:54considerations. the visit will further strengthen bilateral relations, deepen
00:04:58strategic cooperation,
00:05:00of
00:05:12joined by barrister Safi Gia geopolitical analyst to share
00:05:16views as Prime Minister Shahbas Sharif is a visit to Kingdom of Saudi
00:05:20Arabia Saffi,
00:05:20how wonderful it is to have you here. Now Safi, we know
00:05:24that the prime minister is a visit to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we
00:05:28know in his delegation, the chief defense forces is
00:05:32also going and we also know for fact the deputy prime minister and foreign
00:05:36minister will also be joining in from Medina, how
00:05:39significant is this that the delegation compris. is such huge
00:05:43names, what signal is it sending to
00:05:45Riyadh? thank you so much fahim and fahim,
00:05:49you really hit the nail on the head, so it is
00:05:53the composition of all the people who are travelling there, that is the
00:05:57entire message, and this is an extremely important composition, this is this is
00:06:01the war cabinet of pakistan so to speak, this is the entire
00:06:04defense apparatus of Pakistan and the entire foreign policy apparatus
00:06:08of Pakistan that is currently going to Saudi Arabia, so...
00:06:12why this is important is because Pakistan already has extremely deep t with Saudi
00:06:16Arabia, we have a strategic mutual defense agreement with Saudi Arabia, but
00:06:20this strategic mutual defense agreement has never really been tested, we do have a
00:06:24contingent the Pakistan military in Saudi Arabia that is there for protection,
00:06:28but as of late we have seen that Saudi Arabia has been very worried about the
00:06:32attacks from Iran and from the hootis, it both of
00:06:36its sides are blocked right, so on the one hand the streets of hormos have been blocked, on
00:06:40the other hand the hutis have blocked the... so Saudi
00:06:44Arabia for the first time is also experiencing from a Saudi perspective
00:06:48which could be seen as an existential threat, the UAE has
00:06:51already left the OPEC, so this is this is
00:06:55now the strategic mutual defense agreement action, this is them
00:06:59reaching out to Pakistan saying, okay, come, come, let's figure
00:07:02out what we
00:07:04have to do next, how is it that we can maneuver through this entire process
00:07:08and I want to you to really
00:07:11push on this because because this is not just any ordinary
00:07:15visit, this this is happening a time when Pakistan is also
00:07:19position itself as mediator between Iran and the USA, so
00:07:23on the one hand we have Pakistan and Qatar which are assisting in the mediation
00:07:26efforts and Pakistan has its commitments
00:07:30as a mediator to Iran to uphold Iran's perspective before
00:07:34the rest the world to have the rest the world understand what Iran is
00:07:38claiming and what is it that Iran really wants and on the other hand it is also
00:07:45so a trusted ally of Saudi Arabia, so in my opinion,
00:07:49if there was ever an example of what you would call
00:07:53Pakistan playing 5d chess of Pakistan trying
00:07:56to at the same time handle
00:07:59USA, Iran and now Saudi Arabia, this is it,
00:08:03this is this is perhaps one the most significant diplomatic moves that
00:08:07Pakistan is making and I will be keeping very close
00:08:11eye on what happens, but one thing is, one thing
00:08:13is certain, this is not a financial visit, this is an operational and a
00:08:17military visit to Saudi Arabia. Safi, you very rightly
00:08:21mentioned Pakistan being a mediator and also the
00:08:24fact that the deepening the Pakistan, mutual defense
00:08:28agreement that was signed earlier, do you think that
00:08:32the neutrality of Pakistan would be either
00:08:36questioned or would be challenged this way,
00:08:39because on one hand Pakistan is mediator and... on the
00:08:43other, there is a tension going on between Riad and
00:08:46Tehran, how do you think Pakistan is supposed to balance
00:08:49that? exactly what I said
00:08:53fahim that this is a, this is a test for Pakistan, we we one thing that we are very
00:08:57clear about is that this is a collision course, Iran wants to keep the streets of
00:09:01formus closed, Pakistan and Saudi
00:09:05Arabia both have a stated aim, which is that they want the states of
00:09:09hormos to be opened, I think the best case scenario for
00:09:13Pakistan would be for Pakistan to negotiate a deal wherein they open it for Saudi
00:09:16Arabia but then keep it closed for any vessels that are Israeli or the
00:09:20US or i don't know any any mixture these this is this
00:09:24is not for me to comment on this is obviously up to the diplomats w
00:09:27there were trying to carry this out and and I'll add to
00:09:31this is this is just we are just seeing at the surface of what
00:09:34Pakistan is doing there is also deeper level to it which
00:09:38is that the foreign minister Dark just
00:09:42you know he's just back from the Jerusalem ministerial that took place in
00:09:45Jordan and this is the fifth R4 meeting that has taken place in
00:09:49which there was Pakistan so the arabia egypt and Turkey
00:09:52and and then the foreign minister also met the foreign
00:09:56ministers of Jordan Turkey Egypt Algeria Iraq and
00:09:59Somalia and then then this meeting was held in Madina and then now
00:10:03it's going to be held in Raad and this is this is also
00:10:07another aspect of what's happening Pakistan is converting
00:10:11its bilateral defense pack with Saudi Arabia into a much
00:10:14larger overall defense agreement, including Egypt,
00:10:18including Turkey and including
00:10:21other countries such as
00:10:24you know
00:10:24Iraq and somal. ya if you decide to join in and this is what's particularly
00:10:28important, the fact that it seems that on the one hand
00:10:32Islamabad is juggling between this role as a mediator and
00:10:36also sticking to Saudi Arabia as
00:10:38its as is as its brother and making
00:10:42sure that they they remain safe, but at the same time opening itself up to much
00:10:46larger Muslim ummah and trying to get everybody else on board, so
00:10:50fascinating times
00:10:51for him to be honest, I
00:10:53i have never seen Pakistan. play on such a
00:10:57high level this kind
00:10:59of diplomacy, that's for sure
00:11:00like throughout history, i've never imagined that pakistan could be playing the most
00:11:04significant diplomatic role, not just now for Iran
00:11:07and USA, but also for the entire Muslim
00:11:10world, right, not in our living memory and not in the
00:11:14history have we seen Pakistan in such a state, always a pleasure talking to
00:11:18you, Safi, geopolitical analyst talking to Pakistan TV and sharing
00:11:22his ideas and his views as... as far as prime
00:11:25minister's visit to Saudi Arabia is
00:11:29concerned. Moving forward now, Prime Minister Shahbad Sharif has highlighted the
00:11:33positive momentum in Pakistan, China relations and reaffirmed Pakistan's
00:11:37commitment to further strengthening the two countries all weather strategic
00:11:40cooperative partnership. He was talking to Chinese ambassador
00:11:44to Pakistan Jiang Zi dong who called on him in
00:11:47Islamabad during the meeting the Chinese ambassador presented a
00:11:51letter from Chinese president Shin Ping to the Prime Minister express. in
00:11:55gratitude for his message on the 105th anniversary, the founding
00:11:59the communist party of China.
00:12:03Shahar Sharif also underscored the importance of enhancing people to
00:12:06people contacts as well as expanding exchanges between the political
00:12:10parties and parliaments of both the countries. Both the sides also
00:12:14exchange views and bilateral cooperation and regional issues of mutual
00:12:18interest.
00:12:25On the other hand, Pakistan Army aviation has successfully carried out
00:12:28major high altitude rescue operation recovering the bodies of
00:12:32seven foreign mountaineers from Broad Peak after deadly avalan
00:12:36struck the mountain. The operation was launched after 10
00:12:40climbers when missing following the avalanch. Search teams recovered
00:12:44the bodies of seven the missing mountaineers while Pakistan Army aviation
00:12:48air lifted the remains along with the partial remains of an American female
00:12:51climber to Skardu. The missing climbers include did
00:12:55nationals from the United States, China, Nepal, Oman and
00:12:58Pakistan. Upon arrival in Skardu civil and military authorities,
00:13:02diplomatic representatives and district officials pay tribute to the
00:13:06deceased mountaineers. Rescue officials said that the bodies of missing
00:13:10Pakistani and Nepoli clivers as well as the remaining remains the
00:13:13American female mountaineer have yet to be recovered due to harsh wother
00:13:17conditions and the continue risk of
00:13:19avalanches.
00:13:25US, China and Pakistan have raised concerns at
00:13:29the United Nations Security Council over the continued presence of
00:13:33terrorist groups in Afghanistan warning that the country must not become a safe
00:13:36haven for extremist organizations. The United States that
00:13:40ISISK continues to exploit instability in
00:13:43Afghanistan and retains the capability to carry out attacks beyond the
00:13:47country. Despite Taliban claims that the group has been largely
00:13:51defeated. China urged the Taliban to honor its country.
00:13:55terrorism commitments and ensure that Afghan territory is not
00:13:58used by the international terrorist organizations. Pakistan
00:14:02told the security council that multiple terrorist groups continue to operate from
00:14:06safe havens inside Afghanistan, posing a growing threat to
00:14:10regional security and call for greater international vigilance
00:14:13against the terrorist networks based in the
00:14:16country.
00:14:25As we were telling you earlier that the United States, China and Pakistan, all
00:14:29three have raised concerns at the United Nations Security
00:14:33Council over the continued presence the terrorist groups in
00:14:36Afghanistan warning that the country must not become a safe haven for
00:14:40extremist organizations. This is something that Pakistan had been saying
00:14:44time and again since very long time. Now to talk more
00:14:48about that, we have been joined by Hasan Khan a senior
00:14:52journalist and Afghan affairs expert to share his view. as the
00:14:55United States, China and Pakistan have raised concern at the UN Security
00:14:59Council. Now Hasan Khan assalamukum, welcome to Pakistan
00:15:03TV, really does this happen Hussan
00:15:07that the all three, US, China, Pakistan, all three are on the same
00:15:11page, as far as terrorism in Afghanistan is concerned, Pakistan had been
00:15:15on it since quite a while now, presenting evidences,
00:15:19sending daymarches, but now we see that US, China
00:15:23and Pakistan have expressed. concerns the United Nations, what's your take
00:15:27on this? Thank you very much, I think this
00:15:30is no doubt it is very crucial that the in the UN
00:15:34security council where a debate was going on on the security.
00:15:37situation and especially particularly in Afghanistan, the
00:15:41Chinese have reiterated, I think this is not the first time that Chinese
00:15:45have raised their concern and the US to you know the
00:15:48US, especially the number of cigar
00:15:52reports have pointed out to the fact that number of
00:15:56terrorist networks are operating from the Afghan side,
00:15:59particularly the TTP, the al-qaeda, ISK
00:16:03etc. the Chinese have also i think they they...
00:16:07the they have reiterated their positions, the US
00:16:11definitely they know, they understand just day before yesterday you know there was
00:16:15a giant counter terrorism cooperation meeting between
00:16:19Pakistan in in the US in Washington where
00:16:23they also both agrees to work jointly against these
00:16:26terrorist networks which are operating whether it is Alqida, TTP
00:16:30or BLA operating from Afghanistan and agrees on how
00:16:34to strengthen the border security so... Know Pakistan's foreign
00:16:38office in the morning today,
00:16:41the the foreign office spokesmen Indrabi, Mr. Indrabi, he
00:16:45has also said it that Pakistan is not against Afghans, not
00:16:49against Afghanistan, neither want to fight against the Afghan,
00:16:53Afghans just want that the
00:16:56Afghan authorities, especially the defacto government of
00:17:00Taliban, they must stop those elements, those
00:17:03terrorists who are using the afghan sile against Pakistan.
00:17:07once again Pakistan has asked has called on the
00:17:11Taliban that now choose between
00:17:14Pakistan and the terrorist organization, but Taliban have already, I
00:17:18think they have given their wardit. And that is the
00:17:21reason, not only the neighboring countries, the international
00:17:24community, even the Afghan themselves are very
00:17:28the Taliban's support for these
00:17:32terrorist organizations are these terrorist networks, you know,
00:17:35just I think hardly a week. there was a statement from the
00:17:39Afghan Afghanistan freedom front whose leaders
00:17:43said
00:17:44that we are not only fighting against the Taliban forces, we are also
00:17:48facing number of militant networks which are being
00:17:52provided a space safe heavens by the Taliban in
00:17:56Afghanistan and now they are fighting against us along with
00:17:59Taliban so this is what the Taliban believe that instead
00:18:03of focusing on governance in Afghanistan
00:18:08"they are using these terrorist network as a currency and
00:18:11now not only they use it as foreign policy tools
00:18:15especially against the regional countries whether
00:18:19Pakistan you know is the TTP, the BLA, the Majied
00:18:23Brigade, the Hafiz Gul Bahadar group, there is a ETIIM
00:18:26Eastern Turkistan movement which is focusing on
00:18:30on on China and then Russia have lot of
00:18:33concern over the growing ISKP and they believe that"
00:18:37ISKP is utilizing the
00:18:40instable
00:18:42is is exploiting the instability inside Afghanistan and not only
00:18:46targeting the Afghans but also conducting across the
00:18:50border operation in the regional country so I think there is
00:18:54a consensus now that everybody believe that
00:18:57Afghanistan sil is now being used by these terror
00:19:01networks Afghan Taliban have provided a permissive environment to
00:19:05these terror syndicates. when you when you say Husan that
00:19:09the ISISK, everyone has a consensus of that, but then a
00:19:13statement has surfaced from the Afghan taliban s who say
00:19:17that they have largely been
00:19:20vanquished, how credible is that claim from the Afghan
00:19:24side? look, I think as what the Talibans are
00:19:27concerned, they only believe in what a Talib is
00:19:31saying, they are not listening to the world, they are not listening to the people of
00:19:34Afghanistan, they are not listening to the... leaders who are not
00:19:38talib, so I think this is their
00:19:41consistent, they are a consistent state of
00:19:44denial, they are also denying that the TTP is not
00:19:48there, they are also denying that Al-Qaeda is no more in Afghanistan, they
00:19:52are still denying that the ETIIM is not there, and they deny that
00:19:56ISK is is is not in Afghanistan, and
00:20:00even the Chinese and the Pakistani have referred to this
00:20:04fact that Taliban's claim of dismantle.
00:20:08are weakening the ISK is not true, it is not
00:20:12correct, ISK is still there, the Russian have, I think
00:20:15just few days back, there was a statement from Russia, very
00:20:19responsible person who said that Taliban's
00:20:22claims of weakening the ISK is not
00:20:26true, ISK is still there, it is recruiting inside Afghanistan,
00:20:30it is operating from the Afghan style and it is posing serious threat to the regional
00:20:34peace, particularly to the central Asian state, so I
00:20:38this this this this claim of denial
00:20:42of afghan taliban is not new, they deny everything
00:20:46which is said by anyone else than the Talib, so they only believe...
00:20:50in their own world and i think nobody will take these words
00:20:53seriously. since nobody is taking these words seriously,
00:20:57hasan, do you think there would be
00:20:58accountability? fortunately, i
00:21:02think the only accountability will be there when talibans are not there. the reason is
00:21:06the the they don't feel feel
00:21:10themselves responsible to the people of Afghanistan and when somebody asked
00:21:13about their decisions that what impact it will have on the
00:21:17Afghan people, they say we are responsible. in the we will answer these
00:21:21things in the here after, there is no mechanism of
00:21:25accountability within the Taliban regime, there is no
00:21:28accountability, especially when the Talib commit
00:21:32certain things, violate the laws or violate the regulations
00:21:36etc. definitely hassan
00:21:38and this is exactly what we have also been discussing, unfortunately due to
00:21:41the death of time we might not be able to discuss this any further, but thank you
00:21:45very much for joining in, for talking to us and for giving us your
00:21:49time uh for talking about this very important issue uh as
00:21:53far as the statements given by Pakistan, US and
00:21:56China in the UN. Moving forward now, a German
00:22:00court has sentenced an Afghan man to life imprisonment for deadly car
00:22:04ramming attack in Munich last year that killed a two-year-old girl
00:22:07and her mother in injured dozens of others. Communick court found the
00:22:1125 year old identified as farhard and guilty of two counts of
00:22:15murder, 23 counts of attempted murder and 22 counts of
00:22:19causing. bodily harm, including 19 cases of serious
00:22:22bodily injury. the court ruled that the crimes carried a particular
00:22:26gravity of guilt, making it highly unlikely that he will ever be released
00:22:30from prison. according to the court, the attacker drove a mini cooper
00:22:34around a police vehicle before accelerating into a trade union march of about
00:22:381400 people, the mother and daughter suffered
00:22:42severe head injuries and died several days
00:22:44later.
00:23:05news just in, security forces have conducted
00:23:08to high tempo intelligence driven operations in Washiok
00:23:12and Mastong Districts of Balochistan, as part the ongoing
00:23:16series of intelligence based operation under
00:23:21relentless counter terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating
00:23:25Indian proxies, killing 12 terrorists of fitnal
00:23:29Hindustan. On the 5th of August
00:23:322026, movement of six terrorists was picked up by
00:23:36security forces in Wasuok district of
00:23:38Baluchistan. Une troops effectively engaged these
00:23:42terrorists as result of precise and skillful
00:23:46engagement to all six terrorists belonging to Indian proxy with.
00:23:50Hindustan were eliminated in another
00:23:54intelligence based operation on the 6th of August
00:23:572026 in Mastung district of Baluchistan,
00:24:00six terrorists were sent to hell after intense fire
00:24:04exchange between the armed forces and the terrorists
00:24:07morover, the terrorist hide out was also
00:24:10destroyed under the vision Azme
00:24:13istihkam, as approved by Federal Apex committee
00:24:17national action plan, the security forces and the law enforcement
00:24:21agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to
00:24:24wipe out this menace of
00:24:26terrorism.
00:24:30now moving forward with the bulletin, Afghanistan's hunger crisis is worsening
00:24:34as the UN food, a world food program warns that nearly 14
00:24:38million people are facing acute food insecurity and at funding
