00:00:02In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Governor
00:00:05Sahib, thank you very much. Corps Commander Sahib, thank
00:00:08you.
00:00:10that you invited us,
00:00:15now the US is waiting for a and the best part is that today is the first day
00:00:18that I can proudly say that the federal government and
00:00:22the provincial government are on the same page.
00:00:24We have done a lot in the last two and a half years.
00:00:27بڑا۔
00:00:33And the most difficult
00:00:36work was for those people who were fighting this war,
00:00:39and when they looked at the back end,
00:00:42no one even attended the funerals here.
00:00:45And I remember
00:00:48that we used to arrive from Islamabad, and the people
00:00:52who lived here would not come to those funerals.
00:00:55تھے
00:00:57So, I commend the courage of those people
00:01:22and lower my head for this purpose
00:01:26that a only, that there should be no compromise in any way, but no war, in any case,
00:01:30no matter how many resources you bring, no matter what you do, until
00:01:34the government there does not lead it, that war cannot
00:01:38be won. You can look at as many wars
00:01:41in the world as you want. This war cannot be like this, that I
00:01:45say that I am against terrorism, but after that,
00:01:49no other sentence comes after that. We saw this in two and a half years,
00:01:53میں دیکھا
00:01:54and
00:01:57not once, not twice, but dozens of times.
00:02:03is being struck off
00:03:00that when the government leads it, these very people will give you results.
00:03:04These
00:03:05people
00:03:08did not come from the sky or change; they are all the same people.
00:03:12And you will see
00:03:15that
00:03:18when a government leads it, how good the result will be.
00:03:21گا
00:03:24You people should not panic, especially all the
00:03:27advisors and all the other people,
00:04:00that we will stand with you, Insha'Allah. You will see that Allah will give the result.
00:04:04Our intention is pure. Allah will surely give us a good result.
00:04:08گے
00:04:10I will again request you all
00:04:14that
00:04:17we should go to that five-district
00:04:20I would like to point out that one of plan where in the first phase, in six months, in five districts,
00:04:24we should strengthen the police and our other institutions, whether it is the judiciary
00:04:28or the administration,
00:04:57of population in
00:05:00that in this province we will strengthen our police
00:05:03and our other institutions, and
00:05:07our basic work there,
00:05:10those institutions will be able to do it with great courage. When you cannot
00:05:14protect it, when you cannot provide any facility
00:05:18there, when you tell a police officer to go there and your
00:05:21opponent has modern weapons and you
00:05:25have an old pistol, then how can you say that they should
00:05:29fight? Governor Sahib, the way
00:05:31the police and Commander Sahib are thinking, I
00:05:35think I will also appreciate the work they are doing.
00:05:39If this happens, I think it will be a turning point for the police.
00:06:42in the way they have given us
00:06:46a response in the last 24 hours. What was the method of response?
00:06:49They thought that we would block roads. We
00:06:53would set the whole province on fire. Their messages are in front of you;
00:06:57they are not hidden. That we will jam the whole province.
00:07:00You can see what the situation is.
00:07:04Ask independent people what the situation is. So I
00:07:07will appreciate the people of the entire KP and especially all our enforcement
00:07:11agencies. I will appreciate all of them for the way
00:07:14they handled the 24 hours. Alhamdulillah, this province is peaceful,
00:07:18its people are peaceful, and Insha'Allah, the
00:07:21terror
00:07:26is finally over.
00:08:27a meeting of the provincial apex committee held at the governor house under the chairmanship
00:08:30of interim governor Kariem Kundi and federal interior
00:08:34minister. Members of the advisory council along with senior military
00:08:38and the civilian officials attended the meeting. Faz Karim Kundi
00:08:41stated that eradicating Terrorism is our top priority as
00:08:44K-P people want peace and prosperity. He
00:08:48also said that global investments will follow when peace
00:08:51prevails. Interior minister Mosan Nakhvi stated that federal and
00:08:55the provincial governments are on the same page when it comes to
00:08:57peace. He said that PTI government failed to eradicate
00:09:01terrorism from the province and we need to adapt five district phase
00:09:05plan.
00:09:07He said that we are on the same page when it comes to peace. PTI government
00:09:11failed to eradicate terrorism. As well, and well, that's all
00:09:14for now, for further details, stay tuned to Pakistan TV.
00:09:32say, redeploying um these Patriot missile systems
00:09:36to certain areas - because um Saudi Arabia is
00:09:39absolutely vast um as your panelist did say.
00:09:42"and also just the volume of attacks
00:09:46has um been something which has surprised many, especially
00:09:49someone who lives here like um myself, but
00:09:53yes, we did hear from President Donald Trump, of course, no
00:09:56definitive answer from President Donald Trump, he
00:10:00said he might, he might not. So we haven't actually got
00:10:03a decision yet from the US. So we're still
00:10:07waiting on that decision. Of course, Marco Rubio to also
00:10:11condemned what..." happened at the international
00:10:14airport here. came out and said that we stand with Saudi. Saudi
00:10:18are allies, and we do know that, but it's going to be really
00:10:21interesting to see what the US does at the moment, and the reason for that is, of course,
00:10:25they're currently in negotiations with Iran. I know Iran has responded
00:10:29to the US response on the seven-day straight of hum's
00:10:33proposal, and they said that the US response is
00:10:36insufficient. So we know right
00:10:40response um from Iran. They've got that.
00:10:44It's probably not looking like that is going to lead to an agreement.
00:10:48And we must remember President Donald Trump right now is facing those midterm
00:10:51elections in November. He's got a choice to make.
00:10:55"Domestically, it's highly unpopular in the US, his
00:10:59war with Iran. And I think the coming days
00:11:02and weeks will tell us on what's going to happen, because the Mecca defense
00:11:06alliance, the plan is obviously to mobilize
00:11:09equipment as quickly as possible, and to get that into position.
00:11:13And the Dawn of Yemen attacks and the Dawn of Yemen
00:11:16operation apologies, which has been led by the Yemeni government and the
00:11:20Saudi-led coalition from the air could make major
00:11:23gains. So it's a wait-and-see holding pattern here. Every time I
00:11:27speak to analysts, they say that's the situation
00:11:29we're in, right? One quick last question
00:11:33from you, Mark: does diplomacy stand any chance when
00:11:37it comes to de-escalating the situation between the Houthis and the
00:11:41kingdom?
00:11:45I think your guest panelist is saying it
00:11:49exactly right, this is a stalemate at this point in time.
00:11:52It's also kind of a quagmire, in part because of the US
00:11:56elections. Iran is betting uh that they can win
00:11:59this war uh by uh weakening President Trump at the polls. And
00:12:03while he may be winking, that's not going to stop him as commander-in-chief uh from being
00:12:07able to order or having the capacity to order uh, you know, future
00:12:11strikes. I would say just quickly, in defense of the the Kingdom
00:12:14of Saudi Arabia, I would hope that the US would do more. Uh, this kind of
00:12:18attack is unacceptable. And I would also quickly point out one other aspect
00:12:22to all of this. Uh, it is creating interest in dynamic because Pakistan
00:12:26up to now has acted as mediator between the US and
00:12:29Iran. And for mediator, you need to be objective, but Pakistan is
00:12:33now taking the fight to the Houthis uh directly or
00:12:36indirectly in Yemen. Suddenly you're a participant, especially
00:12:40if, as I argue that it is Iran that's behind the
00:12:43Houthi attacks. So everything is kind of spinning out of
00:12:46control, even though for now up until the midterms, I suspect for the most
00:12:50part it'll be a
00:13:16to what is exactly the Indian
00:13:19authority, the led by Bharatiya Janata Party government of
00:13:23course, led by its prime minister.
00:13:25"Narendra Modi is doing with massive
00:13:28demonstrations and the protests which have
00:13:31erupted in a number of cities, most primarily when we talk about
00:13:35New Delhi and Mumbai. Especially when we talk
00:13:38about the government crackdown against the
00:13:41protest testers in Delhi. Delhi has
00:13:44been put under the extreme
00:13:47security restrictions. Now what does
00:13:51that actually signify when the people are protesting against an
00:13:55exercise by the Election Commission of India
00:13:58in connivance with the federal authorities, which is of course,
00:14:02as I have already mentioned, Bharatiya Janata Party led by its prime minister Narendra
00:14:06Modi, when it comes to revising
00:14:09intensively the electoral
00:14:12roles? As per a number of reports,
00:14:15130 million people's
00:14:18names have been put off the
00:14:21electoral roles. What does that mean? What does
00:14:25that signify? And it is happening under the
00:14:28garb of the special intensive
00:14:31revision and the election commission. The opposition
00:14:35party say, especially when we talk about Indian National Congress, its leader Rahul
00:14:38Gandhi, he has been put under brief detention.
00:14:42Likewise, when we talk about this crackdown, there are
00:14:46reports that more than 1,000 people have been put under
00:14:49detention, there are barricades, and even
00:14:53journalists have been...
00:14:55arrested and their mobile phones and their devices have been
00:14:59confiscated by the police and law enforcement
00:15:02agencies over there. The opposition blames the Bharatiya Janata
00:15:06Party and the Election Commission of India going for this
00:15:10exercise in order to
00:15:13eliminate the names of the eligible voters, most particularly
00:15:17when we talk about the Muslim voters, in order to
00:15:20give a disproportionate advantage to Bharatiya
00:15:24Janata Party, and it's patterned in that particular regard
00:15:27in certain constituencies where there was no government of
00:15:31Bharatiya Janata Party before such revision of electoral roles.
00:15:34Bharatiya Janata Party came into power. After
00:15:38such revision, there are international concerns also being
00:15:42raised regarding this particular exercise on the part of the Election Commission of
00:15:45India and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led
00:15:48government. To understand what exactly is
00:15:52happening when we talk about that claim of being the largest democracy
00:15:55in the world, what does this show about the true
00:15:59nature of this so-called largest democracy in the
00:16:02world of
00:16:20million voters' names have been
00:16:23struck off the electoral roles in
00:16:26India under the so-called special
00:16:30intensive revision of the electoral
00:16:32roles. How do you look at this
00:16:36particular act on the part of the Election Commission of India
00:16:39firstly, and also when we talk
00:16:42about
00:16:44its connivance with the Bharatiya Party-led
00:16:47government over
00:16:53democracy is dying. It's been
00:16:57dying for the last 12 years ever since
00:17:00BJP under Narendra Modi took office.
00:17:04But 12 years of dying has brought India's democracy
00:17:08to see, to near fatal or near-death
00:17:11state, in which, as you
00:17:14just told your viewers, 130 million
00:17:18voters are being disenfranchised.
00:17:22For your Pakistani viewers, I'll put it into
00:17:24perspective that the total number of Pakistani voters in
00:17:282024 was 136 million. So
00:17:32essentially, a number of voters nearly
00:17:36equal to all of Pakistan's voters
00:17:41the roles. And this is very,
00:17:44I think, determinant and deliberate
00:17:48exercise to rig the vote, to
00:17:51finally disenfranchise
00:17:53minorities, particularly Muslims, and also
00:17:57to use this very selective engineering
00:18:01tool to disenfranchise the
00:18:04new Kakroot Janata Party, which is now
00:18:07protesting, and its leaders have been arrested.
00:18:10But I think this
00:18:14130 million Indians being struck off the
00:18:17roles is essentially the culmination of a 12-
00:18:20year exercise in which
00:18:24the abolishing the special state of Kashmir,
00:18:28Article 370 of the Indian constitution back in
00:18:312019, and then afterwards the citizenship
00:18:35act, in which again the same exercise was
00:18:38tried, in which the citizenship itself, the
00:18:41government of India tried to take away again the principal victims
00:18:45of Muslims. And there is a systematic repression of
00:18:48minorities across India. What has
00:18:52changed? I think this is what in my view has brought India's
00:18:55democracy to near fatal level,
00:18:59that the animus of the
00:19:02government, the repression of the government has now
00:19:05spread from minorities and Muslims
00:19:09to all those who oppose it. So even
00:19:12Hindus or lower caste Hindus or educated
00:19:16students who are now opposing it, are facing the same kind of
00:19:19retribution that Muslims and minorities have
00:19:23faced in the last 12 years. In fact, Muslims in
00:19:26Gujarat faced it a genocidal level at
00:19:30the hands of Narendra Modi back in 2002. But
00:19:32essentially, this widening of repression from
00:19:36Muslims to..." "all those who oppose the regime, it
00:19:40has brought India's democracy, and I think it's very difficult to now call it
00:19:44democracy in which such widespread
00:19:47repression can take place. Exactly, we we see
00:19:51that widespread resentment among various strata of the
00:19:54society. From Muslims, it is expanding towards
00:19:57the other communities as well.
00:20:01When we specifically try to understand as to
00:20:04the international concern and India," which
00:20:07claims to be the largest democracy in the world, that there are international
00:20:11covenants when it comes to the universal declaration of human
00:20:15rights, the international covenant on civil and political
00:20:18rights. Also
00:20:20the entire world happens to be very sensitive when it comes
00:20:24to the right to vote. And such
00:20:27practices that ultimately lead to disenfranchisement of such
00:20:31huge chunk
00:20:34a certain country. Isn't
00:20:37the world what is exactly happening right now in
00:20:41India, and what should it be ideally? The world is sensitive to it,
00:20:44but because of India's size, particularly the size of its
00:20:47economy, and we should never have the growth
00:20:51rate that it keeps deceiving the world with, in which
00:20:55now there is convincing evidence that India has been
00:20:59overestimating its growth numbers
00:21:01for, again, for decades now, but particularly under
00:21:05Bharatiya Janata Party's rule, which I think
00:21:08now, again, to be perfectly candid, should be
00:21:11deemed a Hindutva government, in
00:21:14which it is trying to make sure
00:21:18that through its engineering and
00:21:21repression that it remains in power.
00:21:24And the world has taken notice
00:21:27of it, but India's size and India's economic growth
00:21:30stats still force the world to do business.
00:21:34But as we have seen that there is there is
00:21:38a method to
00:21:40this madness that Narendra Modi is pursuing.
00:21:44But this madness has brought India's, slowly
00:21:47bringing India's growth miracle
00:21:51to an end. A lot of, you know,
00:21:54multinationals and other investments are leaving
00:21:57India, and there is a flip side to this repression, is
00:22:01that India's, and this Hindutva
00:22:04government's entrenched
00:22:06hatred of Pakistan and its war-mongering against
00:22:10Pakistan has also made the world
00:22:13realize
00:22:16region which India keeps threatening with war and
00:22:20particularly with two nuclear-armed neighbors exist side by side.
00:22:23Is that a region which Narendra Modi can plunge
00:22:27into war any time, is not a good destination for investment. So
00:22:31that is, India is also suffering not only from the
00:22:34international sensitivity to repression and
00:22:38voter fraud, it is also now being paying the price for
00:22:41this war-mongering against Pakistan by, by
00:22:45economically directly and also, of
00:22:48course, or... overall, if you look at the larger
00:22:51picture, India's alliance with the
00:22:54United States is also in trouble, because
00:22:58India has not proven to be the kind of foot
00:23:01soldier that United States wanted against
00:23:04China. So many kind
00:23:07of, what you say, vulnerabilities
00:23:11brought upon by the
00:23:12Hindutva's systematic
00:23:16hatred and prejudice against minorities
00:23:20and those who oppose it has now brought India to a level in
00:23:23which the world is now, I think many, the
00:23:26Freedom House, downgraded India's democratic credentials in this
00:23:30year's report. So India's democracy is
00:23:33dying, its international stature is is being
00:23:36shattered, and now it's, I think it's going to be difficult
00:23:40two years until the next election for
00:23:43Modi. Right, Mr. Khan, there is another very
00:23:46interesting dimension. You already referred to briefly upon that also, the
00:23:50Kakroot Janata Party. Now there is
00:23:53a there is a pressure that is building upon the
00:23:56Bharatiya Janata Party-led government with these massive
00:24:00demonstrations in a number of major cities, including Mumbai. Delhi
00:24:04has been put under extreme security restriction. Also,
00:24:07now there is a brief history, the the Kakroot
00:24:11General Party was successfully able to get its
00:24:14demand met from the Bharatiya Janata Party when the
00:24:18education minister had to resign.
00:24:21Now we know for a fact, there is
00:24:25backing from the opposition, India National Congress Party
00:24:28as well. Their leader was briefly detained, though, as
00:24:32well. With the Kakroot Janada Party, other leading
00:24:35opposition parties, and also there is also a hint
00:24:39on the part of Sonam Wangchuk also, who played a pivotal
00:24:42role in the last movement when it came to the resignation of the
00:24:46education minister. This time around, the demand
00:24:50is the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
00:24:54Given that precedence, do you think there would be pressure
00:24:57amply mounted on Bharatiya Janata Party that they they once
00:25:01again would give in or concede to this new demand of this
00:25:05massive protest movement?
00:25:10the symptoms of a prejudice-
00:25:14based government is that it
00:25:16cannot bear independent institutions. So
00:25:20for many decades, now more than two decades, India's
00:25:24Election Commission was sort of the poster child of India's
00:25:28democracy, in which it was seen as a credible institution that,
00:25:32despite all the corruption and mismanagement
00:25:35and embezzlement that happened in India, at
00:25:39least the Indian Election Commission was a credible
00:25:42institution that ran relatively fair elections. Now that
00:25:45is no longer true. So, similarly, the
00:25:49another... institution which
00:25:52became the cause of the Kakroot Janata Party to come into being
00:25:56was the college entrance system in which the examination system
00:25:59was exposed as rigged." And
00:26:03so, so many hundred thousand young people who wanted to
00:26:07go into the Indian Civil Service realized that
00:26:11this again, another institution that they believed
00:26:14in was rigged and corrupt. And therefore, they
00:26:18protested against it. It's very interesting that the handful of young people who
00:26:21have had no political experience, most of them are
00:26:24under the age of 32, have have organized
00:26:27themselves into this this protest. But
00:26:31again, this protest, which was
00:26:34first against the education minister, now they are protesting as election
00:26:38commission. I It's too early to say whether the
00:26:42election commissioner would resign, but it's very clear that
00:26:45one major aspect of this Hindutva regime for the last 12
00:26:49years has been the slow decay
00:26:53of Indian institutions, which is
00:26:55now exposed for all the world to
00:27:42Pakistan's uh geography is very strategic, very
00:27:46important. It connects multiple regions. We are
00:27:49a higher platform, a higher pedestal, this new
00:27:52phase in which we are now in a mutual defense
00:27:56agreement brings together two of the Muslim
00:27:59world's strongest militaries and military
00:28:03capabilities, which are Pakistan and Turkey. Gaza
00:28:07situation is even more perturbing,
00:28:10and it doesn't seem that, I mean, the the current
00:28:14sort of Israeli actions there, I mean, they are not
00:28:18willing to relinquish sort of the territory that they have
00:28:22occupied. If President Trump is able to get this kind of disarmament to take
00:28:25place in in in in Gaza, this would
00:28:29be a huge victory for him, but it's a matter of bringing bringing the
00:28:33Israeli Israeli particularly to the table who's already
00:28:36rejected this kind of US back road map. The fact that the Israeli
00:28:40military and government and militia and illegal
00:28:42settlers are kind of collaborating to take away
00:28:46these lands and occupy them and settle them with
00:28:50Israelis. These deployments are very demanding, both on the
00:28:52equipment and on the crew. There
00:28:55are roughly 4,800 personnel
00:28:59aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln if you include the ship's crew and the air
00:29:03wing. Um, and they have been at sea now for uh
00:29:07nine months continuously. Iran tends to play the game,
00:29:10what we say, they continue the dance. The United States wants Iran to
00:29:14come to the table, and they're making concessions to get Iran to come to the table. And
00:29:17Iran's making demands for
00:30:02additional concessions to get to the table. You're watching Pakistan TV, this is Muhammad Abdullah Dar. Let's see the top stories.
00:30:20Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister says Pakistan is
00:30:23committed to the complete elimination of terrorism and demands of Afghan Taliban
00:30:27regime to stop all support to terrorists. Addressing a counter
00:30:30terrorism conference, Dar stressed that attacks originating from the Afghan
00:30:34soil must end and the world must acknowledge Pakistan's
00:30:38sacrifices.
00:30:44Information Minister Attar says emergency was imposed in Khabar.
00:30:47Pakhtunkhwa under valid constitutional clauses as there was a
00:30:50breakdown of governance and terrorists were destroying people's
00:30:53livelihoods.
00:30:58KP governor established.
