00:00:37and its establishment in the handover of the body of
00:00:39the martyr Alaa Sabah from the village of Tayasir? Details of this topic
00:00:52Come to where you left off regarding for the purposes specified in the handover of the body of
00:00:54the martyr Alaa Sobeih from the village of
00:00:58the area between Rabat Tayasir, who was killed by the bullets of settler gangs.
00:01:00The settlement outpost that
00:01:03the first Zionist conference in Basel, was established between the villages of Aqaba and Tayasir to the northeast of
00:01:07the city of Tubas about three
00:01:09months ago. It was supposed that the occupation authorities would hand over
00:01:13the body at 11 o'clock, but
00:01:18teams the occupation procedures always and centrality, hinder the handover process,
00:01:21and the occupation procrastinates in the handover process. And now
00:01:24the matter has moved to
00:01:28partition. Meanwhile, the more than 20 families from this the handover process at 5 o'clock this afternoon,
00:01:31Come to success. and therefore there are arrangements and procedures
00:01:33for receiving the body of the martyr Alaa Sobeih, who, as we mentioned,
00:01:37was killed about three
00:01:41unable to stand the governorate. What are the months ago by the bullets of settler gangs, who always
00:01:45that extend to this launch attacks against the villages of Aqaba and Tayasir to
00:01:47the northwest of Then, after the handover process,
00:01:51his pure body will be transferred to the Turkish government hospital
00:01:56as you can see in the of Tubas, and then to
00:01:58the Mandate on our lands. his hometown, where the village of Tayasir is located
00:02:01to the northeast of the city of Tubas, to be buried
00:02:06place under the protection and guard of in the village cemetery. So, the settler gangs have not calmed down since
00:02:10resolution, that time, meaning three months before the martyrdom of
00:02:13carried out by the occupation army in Alaa Sobeih in the village of Tayasir,
00:02:18reach except after a long Governorate, extending to the southwestern the settlement process in that region began and intensified, through the spread of
00:02:21settlement outposts. And this is the second axis that we want to
00:02:25Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. talk about now, through the northern Jordan Valley,
00:02:29where extreme settlement associations are currently
00:02:32completing the fencing of vast
00:02:36areas, starting from the Tayasir checkpoint,
00:02:38They are expanding and attacking as we mentioned,
00:02:40the field. Greetings to you and goodbye. where the martyr Alaa Sobeih was killed, by fencing
00:02:44and a partition plan with these lands, up to
00:02:44which led to Hammamat or the village of Hammamat
00:02:47al-Maleh in the northern
00:02:49al-Tarawi. On May Jordan Valley. We are talking about vast areas, thousands of dunams,
00:02:52whether pastoral or agricultural, and the most common are
00:02:55pastoral areas that are being fenced and the fencing is being completed by
00:03:00settlement associations. Every time the so-called
00:03:03Israeli Supreme Court issues
00:03:11to complete its evacuation on to dual violations by a decision that prohibits, for example, the fencing of lands owned by our people,
00:03:13here about the Israeli violations stop at arresting or demolition operations in residential areas in the northern Jordan Valley, the
00:03:18the Jewish leaders settlement associations, supported
00:03:19its work in by
00:03:20the kibbutzim and its belief in the extremist Tel Aviv government, immediately respond by fencing additional areas of
00:03:24land, as if they are contradicting
00:03:28the decision of the Israeli Supreme Court, and demolition operations are
00:03:31carried out by settler gangs
00:03:35and settlement associations
00:03:37stated under the protection of the occupation army and occupation police and the
00:03:41crews from performing their so-called civil administration. Large and massive
00:03:44populated area. Two people settlement projects are being implemented in the northern
00:03:48Palestinian population centers Jordan Valley through the construction of the military
00:03:51road that separates the northern Jordan Valley from
00:03:55its geographical surroundings. We are talking about destruction
00:03:58Council determines that such and targeting of the agricultural it was in their interest to sector. Losses are estimated
00:04:02at billions of shekels as a result of the demolition of plastic
00:04:06the houses. houses and agricultural projects,
00:04:08as well as the displacement of our
00:04:11the western people. Large communities in the Ras al-Ahmar area were
00:04:14displaced, and water lines were cut and agricultural wells were destroyed.
00:04:17entrusted to it in this Three wells were destroyed the General
00:04:21Assembly. In fact, the Soviet water from vast
00:04:24and 41 of areas of agricultural land. Also,
00:04:27there were 14,000 job opportunities provided by this
00:04:31area for our people in the agricultural sector. Today,
00:04:35these families and agricultural
00:04:38workers lost these jobs
00:04:41in that
00:04:4339 of to besiege Qalandia area. We are talking about large agricultural companies
00:04:46in the plain of al-Baqi'a, Atouf, and Ras
00:04:50and stability in al-Ahmar that closed their doors
00:04:53refugee camp, northwest of occupied as a result of these settlement expansion and settler attacks.
00:04:56The situation reached the point where settlement outposts
00:05:00spread on the outskirts of the city of Tubas, where,
00:05:03citizens, establishing settlement behind me, in the plain of Tubas, some agricultural projects were moved
00:05:05from the targeted areas in the Jordan Valley to this area. This did not deter
00:05:09the settler gangs and settlement associations
00:05:13that pursue our people and pursue
00:05:16investors and owners of these lands on the outskirts of this city
00:05:19and carry out these attacks and these crimes in an attempt
00:05:23to pressure them to completely close
00:05:26these projects. As we said, the targeting
00:05:29of water. Without water, there is no agriculture
00:05:32and no survival and life in the northern
00:05:35Jordan Valley, and the settlement associations
00:05:38are fully aware of the importance of controlling water
00:05:41sources, springs, and destroying agricultural
00:05:44wells that are present and spread in the northern Jordan Valley
00:05:48and pumping large quantities of water
00:05:51to the settlements and settlement outposts that were recently
00:05:54established. Then comes the role of the occupation
00:05:58government in legalizing these settlement outposts
00:06:00and settlements, as happened in the settlement and outpost
00:06:04on the mountain of Tamoun, south of the city of Tubas, and also in
00:06:10and Aqaba in the western
00:06:12part of the city of Tubas. I mean,
00:06:16we are talking about a difficult reality, the spread of
00:06:19settlements, and we note
00:06:22that the body of the martyr Alaa Sobeih from the village of
00:06:25Tayasir will be handed over at 5
00:06:40about the occupation forces' arrest of four people, including a woman,
00:06:43and also the acceleration of the pace of settlement,
00:06:47coinciding with settler attacks in various areas of
00:06:58the viewers. We are talking here about Nablus Governorate, which is considered one of
00:07:02the most targeted governorates by the extremist government and settler
00:07:05militias that impose a reality based on the force of arms in Nablus
00:07:09Governorate, between raids and search and inspection campaigns
00:07:12and arrests, up to what the settler militias do in terms
00:07:15of organized state terrorism with full participation from the Israeli
00:07:19occupation army for these extremist gangs. We are talking about a wide
00:07:22arrest campaign this morning
00:07:25the northwestern region of Nablus
00:07:29region of the governorate, which led to the arrest of
00:07:32four citizens, including a woman from the village of Beit Imrin, located to the north
00:07:36of Nablus Governorate, where
00:07:39the occupation forces raided these villages and towns
00:07:43and caused destruction and ruin in the homes and property of citizens,
00:07:47as part of the policy of intimidation pursued by the occupation army against
00:07:50our people in Nablus Governorate, which is
00:07:53heavily targeted by the extremist government,
00:07:56in addition to what the occupation army did by subjecting
00:08:00citizens to field interrogation and abuse in the early
00:08:03hours of the morning, in addition to besieging homes and spreading fear
00:08:07and terror among children, women, and the elderly. We are talking about
00:08:11a policy that the occupation has recently adopted, where when it raids homes, it
00:08:15smashes doors, breaks windows, in addition to
00:08:18the contents of the homes, as part of a policy that does not
00:08:23the citizen, but rather makes them pay the price for smashing
00:08:27the contents of the homes and tampering with them by the Israeli occupation forces,
00:08:30in addition to brandishing weapons and subjecting citizens to
00:08:34field interrogation, where in some cases the occupation army
00:08:37deliberately subjects the detainee to field
00:08:41interrogation, then beats him, and then takes
00:08:44him to an unknown destination, in front of
00:08:48his family, who witnesses this terrorism carried out by
00:08:51this army, which has become today a primary partner in the attacks carried out by
00:08:55the extremist fanatics who carry out attacks successively on
00:09:00in Nablus Governorate, villages and towns, and establish outposts
00:09:04and expand existing settlements, as is the case in the town of
00:09:07Kafr Qalil, located to the southeast of Nablus Governorate, where
00:09:10a family from the Mansour family almost
00:09:13lost their lives due to the falling of huge stones
00:09:17from the settlement expansion operations carried out by settler gangs
00:09:21and the occupation authorities in
00:09:24area. And about
00:09:28an hour ago, we were preparing a report and we saw the stones that reached
00:09:31the vicinity of the house and caused damage to parts of the house.
00:09:35And we are talking here about very large rocks
00:09:38that the settlers deliberately threw at the citizens in the town of Kafr
00:09:42Qalil. As I told you, it was a matter of moments between life
00:09:46and death for this family that was present at the entrance of the house
00:09:49when the settler militias and the occupation forces fired
00:09:53these stones from the areas of expansion and excavation operations that
00:09:56are taking place in the settlement outpost that was recently established on the lands of the citizens.
00:10:00But I am talking about what is happening in the Nablus countryside, specifically
00:10:04the southern region, which has become a battlefield in every sense of the word,
00:10:08through the organized state terrorism carried out by extremist
00:10:11militias, burning homes, shooting at
00:10:15outposts adjacent to citizens' homes, where
00:10:18some settlement outposts are no more than tens of meters away from citizens'
00:10:22homes. These settlement outposts are launching pads for these
00:10:25extremist militias to burn homes, shoot at citizens, and assault
00:10:29them by beating
00:10:32them. All of this is accompanied by the securing of these
00:10:36attacks by the occupation army, which stands at an equal distance from these
00:10:41attacking our people in the context of targeting the Palestinian
00:10:44citizen in his land, in his home, in
00:11:07to reach this place, specifically in the Wadi al-A'war area south of the city of
00:11:11Hebron, where the Ghaith family woke up to the demolition of
00:11:14the house of citizen Hamza Ghaith completely,
00:11:17in addition to the fact that this area suffers greatly
00:11:21from the attacks of occupation soldiers and settlers. But
00:11:25imagine, Diana, that this entrance to this ruin has been
00:11:28closed for two years, and the occupation bulldozer that reached this place
00:11:32opened this earthen barrier and carried out
00:11:36this complex crime, and then withdrew from the place
00:11:39and closed the area completely. This is a message from the
00:11:43occupation soldiers to these unarmed citizens,
00:11:46steadfast and patient on their land, despite the displacement of
00:11:51place due to the attacks of soldiers, indeed, the attacks of
00:11:55settlers under the protection and guard of the occupation soldiers, who
00:11:58provide full cover for attacks on citizens
00:12:01and their public property, in addition to the fact that the occupation
00:12:05destroyed and cut all the power lines
00:12:10place, and consequently, what results from that is the destruction of
00:12:14water networks, and the citizens here are left homeless,
00:12:18and this entire area at this moment is inhabited by one
00:12:21family belonging to citizen Nour
00:12:24Idris, and the settlers who storm these areas through the settlement
00:12:27outposts spread in this
00:12:31the occupation soldiers, who provide cover, as
00:12:34we mentioned, for carrying out these escalating Israeli
00:12:37attacks here in the outskirts of the city of Hebron
00:12:40and in areas that citizens cannot
00:12:43struggle. All these matters, Diana, apply to
00:12:47the residential communities in
00:12:50This morning, the settlers attacked citizens in
00:12:53the Khallet al-Homs area, which is surrounded
00:12:57by the settlement outpost. Tomorrow, there will be
00:13:00the eighth stand to perform Friday prayers in this
00:13:03area, located between the areas of Shkara
00:13:06and Susiya, within the communities in Masafer Yatta, south of
00:13:10Hebron, to send a message to the occupation government that this
00:13:14land is purely Palestinian, and all these Israeli
00:13:17violations also apply to more than 20 residential communities in
00:13:21the Masafer areas, whether in the area of Rujum Ali, in
00:13:25the area of Khashm al-Daraj, in the area of
00:13:27Jenbah, and many other residential communities that are exposed
00:13:32the occupation soldiers and settlers. In the field situation, and specifically
00:13:38and daily incursions, the occupation forces that stormed the Srif
00:13:41area northwest of Hebron this morning arrested
00:13:45five citizens from the Ghnemat and al-Haih families and took them to
00:13:49an unknown destination, while they stormed al-Arroub refugee camp north of the city of
00:13:52Hebron and destroyed a vehicle belonging to one of the citizens and attacked
00:13:56an elderly man, who was transferred to a hospital
00:14:00for treatment. But in reality, what citizens suffer from,
00:14:03Diana, is the movement and passage between
00:14:06Israeli checkpoints and the frequent closures
00:14:10and Israeli restrictions that cut off the links of Hebron
00:14:13Governorate and resulted in difficulty in movement
00:14:16and also difficulty in dealing with medical
00:14:20and emergency cases.
00:14:23You were with us live from Hebron.
00:14:42forces, with large military vehicles and large numbers
00:14:46and military reinforcements, also storm
00:14:49the Qalandia refugee camp area and Kafr Aqab,
00:14:52north of occupied Jerusalem. And we are talking about the demolition of
00:14:55commercial shops. What does the scene look like for you and the latest
00:15:08refugee camp, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, where they closed
00:15:11all entrances leading to the Qalandia entrance. We are now standing at
00:15:14the main entrance to Qalandia
00:15:18Jerusalem, where the occupation forces are pushing more of
00:15:21the... I mean, they are
00:15:25now
00:15:29holding three young men
00:15:32who were passing through the main road connecting Jerusalem and Ramallah.
00:15:35The occupation forces are standing, as you can see in the picture,
00:15:39stopping passing cars, impounding
00:15:42them, and searching them before taking
00:15:46the young men to detention or allowing them
00:15:50to pass. Today, the situation in Qalandia refugee camp is more difficult than
00:15:54yesterday, as no one was allowed to leave
00:15:56or enter this camp. We received appeals
00:16:00from the residents of Qalandia camp, calling for the provision of basic
00:16:03necessities such as bread and water. Especially since the occupation
00:16:08forces are besieging all parts of the camp and not allowing anyone
00:16:11to leave their homes. Also, Dana, the occupation forces demolished a commercial
00:16:14establishment at the western entrance of Qalandia
00:16:17refugee camp, leveling it to the ground.
00:16:20They also evacuated the house of the young man Muhammad Jamil Ammar
00:16:24and placed some explosives and blew up
00:16:27parts of this house during this ongoing military campaign since
00:16:30yesterday on Qalandia refugee camp. Dana, this
00:16:34scene is continuous inside Qalandia refugee camp. We
00:16:37learned from eyewitnesses that the field interrogations are still
00:16:40ongoing, where they have turned the Popular Committee inside Qalandia camp into
00:16:44a field interrogation center, where they take young men and citizens
00:16:48and beat them and interrogate them in the field. Also, the occupation
00:16:51forces do not allow medical
00:16:55to enter Qalandia refugee camp or treat
00:16:58the injuries that occurred there. There are more
00:17:02than 11 injuries inside Qalandia
00:17:05refugee camp that were treated in the field. Also,
00:17:08Dana, there are elderly people who need
00:17:12to reach people with chronic diseases who need to reach
00:17:15nearby hospitals. The occupation forces do not allow them to enter.
00:17:18Yesterday, coordination was made with the Palestinian Red Crescent to transfer some chronic
00:17:22cases out of Qalandia refugee camp. Today,
00:17:26the siege on Qalandia refugee camp is more severe and more
00:17:30complicated,
00:17:33picture, they are stopping pedestrian traffic,
00:17:37cars, and checking the IDs of citizens, and detaining
00:17:41some young men at the entrance to Qalandia refugee camp, northwest of occupied
00:17:44Jerusalem. As we mentioned earlier,
00:17:47Dana, there is a plan in Qalandia refugee camp, as they say.
00:17:51They are placing marks. They have maps
00:17:53of this camp with them. They are placing marks.
00:17:57Occupation bulldozers entered the camp. At this moment, the picture
00:18:00is unclear about what is happening inside the camp due to the prevention of media teams from
00:18:04entering. Thank you very much, Musa
00:19:18safe area, a densely
00:19:22came, two people came
00:19:25to the port to breathe, because the port is the only area where people
00:19:29can breathe. A reconnaissance plane hit
00:19:33them with one missile. I mean, it tore them to pieces. I mean,
00:19:36you see, we can say, may God have mercy on him, because his condition
00:19:40is critical. Where is the ceasefire? We are telling the world, where is the ceasefire,
00:19:43and we have blood every day, every day we bid farewell to
00:19:46each
00:19:52other.
00:20:38It was an attack on the entire village by
00:20:41settlers, with whom they were. They were
00:20:45forty settlers. They came down here
00:20:48and left people to attack the
00:20:51the house, and the second group
00:20:54continued to the mosque and tried to burn the mosque.
00:20:58This tour was hostile
00:24:52because they started throwing stones at
00:24:56A few days ago, they also
00:25:00burned a house in the village belonging to citizen
00:25:03Suhaib Radwan
00:25:05Ramadan.
00:25:14The attack occurred in the area we see in the background.
00:25:18The shooting resulted in the death of four martyrs and four injured.
00:26:34resolutions. We had talked about the United Nations
00:26:39the last episode, as it is a gateway to
00:26:42our Palestinian cause and its merits. If
00:26:46the establishment of Israel on May 15, 1948, was a pivotal
00:26:49moment in the history of
00:26:53our Palestinian cause and a declaration of the fulfillment
00:26:57of the Zionist dream and its embodiment in
00:26:59a state 50 years after
00:27:06this date also politically symbolizes the Nakba of the Palestinian
00:27:09people, which began before it and continued after
00:27:13it. However, this moment, despite its importance
00:27:17should not be dealt with as a founding moment
00:27:21for the cause. Although there was a political
00:27:24reality established after that declaration, its
00:27:28social, economic,
00:27:30cultural, and political
00:27:33roots go back to decades before that date.
00:27:36A comprehensive reading of the Palestinian cause
00:27:39requires a return to the roots of the conflict,
00:27:43and a search for the accumulations that ended in several
00:27:46stages in qualitative changes, each of which created
00:27:50a new political, legal, and social
00:27:54reality. This comprehensive reading is not
00:27:57easy, as it requires a retroactive deconstruction
00:28:00of every reality that was created and the accumulations that
00:28:04led to it, meaning a historical
00:28:07and epistemological excavation. And if we are talking here about
00:28:10contemporary history, then the intensity of its events
00:28:13and the amount of propaganda that surrounded
00:28:16it, both friendly and hostile (I mean here),
00:28:19and the many changes that occurred
00:28:22in it, knowing them is a necessary
00:28:25matter to reach the comprehensive reading
00:28:28that we are talking about here. Let us
00:28:32start from May 15, 1947,
00:28:36when
00:28:40a recommendation was issued for the partition of Palestine
00:28:43by the UNSCOP committee. Let us listen to the
00:28:47details and analyze them with Dawood
00:28:5215, 1947, one
00:28:55year before the declaration of the establishment of
00:28:58Israel, the United Nations
00:29:01General Assembly issued a resolution
00:29:05to form the United Nations Special
00:29:08Committee on Palestine
00:29:11by a majority of 45
00:29:15votes against seven votes, which were
00:29:18the delegates of the five Arab states that were members of
00:29:21the Security Council, in addition to Pakistan
00:29:24and Turkey. The objection of the Arab states, Turkey,
00:29:28and Pakistan to the formation of the committee was not
00:29:31without reason, as the atmosphere that
00:29:35preceded its formation was not reassuring,
00:29:38especially since the bias towards Zionist
00:29:41aspirations in Palestine at that
00:29:44time constituted a common denominator between
00:29:46the Eastern and Western blocs. This was reflected
00:29:50in the refusal of the United Nations General Assembly to include
00:29:54the termination of the British Mandate
00:29:57and the declaration of Palestine's independence on the agenda
00:30:01of its session. It also refused
00:30:04to separate the issue of Jewish
00:30:06refugees from the Palestinian cause, which
00:30:10prompted the Arab Higher Committee in Palestine
00:30:14to boycott the committee. Despite this,
00:30:17the committee arrived in Palestine
00:30:19and met with representatives of the Jewish Agency, led
00:30:23by Ben-Gurion, who addressed the committee
00:30:27with a racist speech, demanding a Jewish
00:30:30state in all of Palestine, inhabited by
00:30:34an Arab minority, even though Palestinian
00:30:37Arabs constituted two-thirds of the population
00:30:40at that time. The Arab
00:30:43states submitted a memorandum to the committee,
00:30:47in which they considered that the only solution that
00:30:50would provide security the region was
00:30:54the establishment of an independent government in which Arabs
00:30:58and Jews would enjoy their constitutional
00:31:00rights. The committee also received
00:31:04a memorandum from the Arab Higher
00:31:07Committee through the Arab states, confirming
00:31:09what was stated in the project of the Arab states that was submitted to Britain
00:31:13at the London Conference in 1946, demanding a Palestinian
00:31:16state, not an Arab state,
00:31:20and recognizing the Jews' right
00:31:23to one-third in the Constituent Assembly and in
00:31:26all affairs of the country. In the end, the committee
00:31:29recommended, by a majority of its members,
00:31:32the partition of Palestine into two states,
00:31:34Jewish and Arab,
00:31:38while the minority recommended a united
00:31:40state. The recommendation of the majority was consistent
00:31:44with the proposal of the Peel Commission in 1937
00:31:47regarding the principle of partition, but differed
00:31:50with it in the borders of the two states.
00:31:54Yes, Dawood, they disagreed on the borders
00:31:56of the two states, but they were united in their bias towards the
00:32:00aspirations and ambitions of the Zionists. For that
00:32:03reason, a UN committee with special
00:32:06tasks was formed to discuss the recommendation of the
00:32:10committee. And after several
00:32:13deliberations, it concluded
00:32:16by adopting the partition recommendation
00:32:19by a majority of its members. However,
00:32:21because the majority's proposal did not achieve two-thirds of the votes,
00:32:25the proposal was referred to the General Assembly, where American
00:32:29pressure was exerted on a number of countries that were
00:32:33planning to abstain from voting to change
00:32:36their position, and eight of them changed their position
00:32:40to approve
00:32:43Arab countries tried to present a draft
00:32:45resolution that would accept a federal state
00:32:48and withdraw their previous demand for an Arab state
00:32:51in Palestine, but they failed to bring
00:32:54it to a vote due to American pressure on member
00:32:58states. In the end, the General
00:33:01Assembly issued its Resolution
00:33:04181, which called for the partition of Palestine
00:33:07with the support of
00:33:0933 countries, including the United States and the Soviet
00:33:13Union, with 13 countries objecting
00:33:17and ten countries abstaining
00:33:20from the vote. As for the details and text of this
00:33:25we will hear and follow it with Maysa.
00:33:29The United Nations General Assembly held a special
00:33:33session to form a special
00:33:36committee and assign it the task of preparing to consider
00:33:40the issue of an independent Palestinian government in the second regular
00:33:43session. The committee was tasked with investigating all
00:33:46matters and issues related to the Palestinian
00:33:50cause and preparing the necessary proposals.
00:33:53The committee put forward a number of social
00:33:56recommendations an economic union,
00:34:00which was approved by the majority of the committee, considering
00:34:03اتحاد اقتصادي اقرته اكثريه
00:34:07The current situation in
00:34:11Palestine is likely to cause harm to the public interest
00:34:15and friendly relations between nations. This came
00:34:18simultaneously with the declaration of the British
00:34:21Mandate that it seeks
00:34:26the first of August 1948.
00:34:281948.
00:34:32The resolution, which bore the number
00:34:35181, stated that the United
00:34:38Kingdom recommends, in its capacity as
00:34:41the mandatory power over Palestine, and all
00:34:45members of the United Nations to adopt the partition
00:34:48and economic union project. The resolution also
00:34:52that the Security Council shall take
00:34:56the necessary measures as outlined
00:34:58in the plan for its
00:35:01implementation.
00:35:04The Security Council shall consider whether the situation in
00:35:07Palestine constitutes a threat to peace.
00:35:10If the Security
00:35:13a threat exists, it shall, in order to
00:35:17maintain international peace and security, add to the mandate
00:35:20of the General Assembly to take measures
00:35:23that grant the United Nations Commission
00:35:26the authority to carry out
00:35:29in Palestine the tasks
00:35:32resolution, in accordance with Articles
00:35:3639
00:35:39the Charter. The Security Council shall consider
00:35:43any attempt to change the settlement contained
00:35:47in this resolution by force a threat
00:35:50to peace, a breach of peace, or an act
00:35:53of aggression, in accordance with Article
00:35:58the Charter. The Security Council shall inform the Trusteeship Council
00:36:01of its responsibilities under this plan.
00:36:05It calls upon the people of Palestine to take
00:36:08the necessary steps to implement this
00:36:12plan. It appeals to all governments
00:36:15and peoples to refrain from taking any
00:36:18action that may impede these
00:36:21recommendations or delay
00:36:23their implementation. It authorizes the Secretary-General to cover
00:36:27the travel and living expenses of the
00:36:30committee members, consisting of one representative from each
00:36:34of five member states, and the General
00:36:37Assembly shall elect the members
00:36:40the committee on the broadest possible basis,
00:36:44geographically and non-geographically,
00:36:48the basis and manner it deems
00:36:51appropriate in these circumstances.
00:36:54And to provide the committee with the necessary staff
00:36:59carrying out the tasks assigned
00:37:02to it by the General Assembly. The General
00:37:05Assembly authorizes the Secretary-General to withdraw an amount
00:37:08from the Working Capital exceeding
00:37:12two million
00:37:17the last paragraph of the resolution
00:37:21regarding the independent government of Palestine. So,
00:37:24the Zionist project was able to mobilize significant
00:37:27international support for the establishment of its
00:37:30state in Palestine, even bringing together
00:37:34the two opposing sides at that time, the Soviets
00:37:37and the Americans, each with their different
00:37:40political interests in the establishment of Israel.
00:37:44So, how did it
00:37:46achieve that? There was the
00:37:50Sykes-Picot Agreement, that is, in April
00:37:54and May 1916,
00:37:57between Britain and France, with the knowledge of
00:38:00Tsarist Russia. Then there was the Balfour Declaration
00:38:04on November 2, 1917. And that led to the
00:38:07occupation of our lands by Britain on December 9, 1917.
00:38:09And on July
00:38:1324, 1922, the British Mandate
00:38:17was imposed. It is said, and this is
00:38:21a fact, that the Zionist movement formulated
00:38:26In Article 2 of the Mandate,
00:38:29that is, from the text of the Mandate, there is a direct
00:38:32provision that the mandatory state
00:38:36shall assist
00:38:39the Zionist movement in establishing a national
00:38:43home in Palestine. And in Article
00:38:454, there is also a provision
00:38:48that Britain, as the mandatory
00:38:52state, shall assist and consult and provide
00:38:56advice and
00:38:59support to the Jewish Agency in
00:39:01our lands. And then,
00:39:05there was the historical development until
00:39:08we reached the partition resolution. What I wanted to
00:39:11say is that with this
00:39:14strategic relationship and with this history, the Zionist
00:39:18movement was able to be
00:39:20an actor and to have an effect and a strategic
00:39:24relationship with the major powers regarding the Soviet
00:39:27Union specifically. The Soviet Union,
00:39:30first, there were close
00:39:34relations between the Zionist movement and its
00:39:37leaders with the Soviet Union, as
00:39:41the leaders of the movement,
00:39:45in the Soviet Union, played a role in strengthening the relationship between
00:39:49the Zionist movement on one hand, and
00:39:52the Soviet Union on the
00:39:53other.
00:44:49The important thing is that the Zionist movement was able
00:44:52to convince the Soviet Union and its leadership at the time
00:44:56of Stalin that
00:45:00collective work and its adoption, in inverted
00:45:03commas, of communist or socialist
00:45:07ideology, this led the Soviet Union, for its
00:45:10own interests, to want there to be
00:45:13a young state in the Middle East that would be
00:45:17an extension of the Soviet Union's socialism. In addition
00:45:21to that, there was an Israeli Communist
00:45:23Party, and this party
00:45:27adopted Marxist
00:45:30ideas. Consequently, the Soviets saw that
00:45:35recognize the occupation state and to
00:45:38vote in
00:45:41Union pressured some
00:45:45socialist countries at that stage to
00:45:48vote in favor of the partition resolution.
00:45:51Regarding the West, its interests also
00:45:55coincided with those of the Zionist movement, primarily regarding settlement
00:45:59and colonization. There was an alignment of views. However,
00:46:03the United States of America, especially President Truman, who
00:46:06played an important role in ensuring
00:46:09a larger and more
00:46:13favorable vote for the partition resolution in the United Nations,
00:46:16did so because they believed that
00:46:20Israel would be the long arm of the West and the United
00:46:23States in protecting their strategic
00:46:26interests in the region, especially since it is a region
00:46:30that has, first of all, oil,
00:46:32and there are
00:46:36other
00:46:39natural resources in addition
00:46:42to oil. In addition to that,
00:46:45there is the issue of trade and the flow
00:46:48of commercial traffic, especially since there is a unique
00:46:52geographical location for the
00:46:55region that connects different continents. However,
00:46:59the most important thing is that Israel
00:47:02would be the long arm of the United States
00:47:05and the West to prevent any Arab renaissance project
00:47:09and to prevent any Arab unity,
00:47:13and also to prevent geographical contiguity between
00:47:17Egypt
00:47:20Therefore, in the beginning, it was known
00:47:23as a functional state, a state
00:47:27for protecting Western interests and the long
00:47:32States and the West in the region.
00:47:35The West also had another motive, which was
00:47:39to atone, in inverted commas, for its sins
00:47:43and to atone for the persecution
00:47:46of Jews in Germany and other European countries,
00:47:50especially since Jews were ostracized in
00:47:53those areas. Therefore, the West, through its
00:47:56mouthpiece, wanted to reward the Zionist
00:47:59movement by establishing a national home for them in
00:48:02our lands. On the other hand, what
00:48:06efforts and positions did the Arab
00:48:09and Islamic countries, the natural strategic
00:48:13depth of the Palestinian
00:48:15people, play? The Arabs
00:48:18tried through cooperation,
00:48:21that is, through serious work with representatives of the Palestinian
00:48:25people, whether the Higher Committee
00:48:28or the Arab Higher Committee. But unfortunately,
00:48:30the Arabs were
00:48:34against this international position, especially as
00:48:37I said, the United States and its Western
00:48:40allies, all of them without exception, and also
00:48:44the Soviet Union, and
00:48:46what it also represented politically at the international
00:48:49level in the socialist bloc, which also
00:48:52voted, with the exception of Czechoslovakia,
00:48:55by the way, and the state
00:48:59that went to Palestine with 11
00:49:02states, which were it, India,
00:49:06and Iran, which opposed the partition
00:49:09resolution. In addition, we had eight countries
00:49:12supporting the partition resolution, and in the vote,
00:49:15there was an overwhelming international position.
00:49:18The Arabs were certainly opposed
00:49:22and tried, but the Arab efforts did not succeed,
00:49:26especially since some Arab countries
00:49:29were young and newly independent,
00:49:32and they did not have that presence,
00:49:37this resolution passing despite the Arabs
00:49:40in the United Nations. This was not the
00:49:44Palestinian struggle, but the Palestinian struggle
00:49:48began much earlier when the first
00:49:50settlement was established on our
00:49:54lands in 1887, which was the
00:49:56Malbas settlement, or what is called
00:49:59the Key of Hope in Arabic. From there,
00:50:03the Palestinian struggle began and continued. The Balfour
00:50:06Declaration, the Mandate, in 1929,
00:50:09we had the Buraq Revolution and what followed in
00:50:13the early thirties, the revolution of the martyr
00:50:17Izz al-Din al-Qassam, and then the historical
00:50:20strike of six months or
00:50:23ten days, and what followed from
00:50:26serious Palestinian positions and
00:50:29serious Palestinian struggle. But unfortunately,
00:50:32there was also an Arab
00:50:36position that led to convincing
00:50:39the Palestinian leadership and the leadership of the
00:50:42Palestinian masses of the necessity
00:50:45of stopping the historical strike. And from
00:50:49that date, there was the first Arab
00:50:53intervention, which led to the Palestinian
00:50:56position retreating at that time. Zionist immigration
00:50:59was at its peak. There was
00:51:03more settlement building
00:51:05and Zionist presence on our lands. Our lands
00:51:09were being eaten up.
00:51:13The Zionist gangs,
00:51:16from Stern to the Haganah
00:51:19to Etzel and other Zionist
00:51:23groups, were being
00:51:26armed. The Mandate
00:51:30and the British policy
00:51:33of repression were building and empowering the
00:51:37Zionist movement, building the Israeli
00:51:41Jewish institution on our lands. Our situation
00:51:43was at its worst, a result
00:51:47of the British position and Western
00:51:51support, and the British support,
00:51:54which led to
00:51:57the Palestinian position at that
00:52:01time being a weak position.
00:52:06many Arab countries did
00:52:10not have a serious position regarding
00:52:13what was happening, which led
00:52:16to the declaration of the establishment of the occupation state through
00:52:20the United Nations. Despite what we presented in this episode
00:52:24in terms of facts, locations, and texts,
00:52:27we did not give the resolution and its
00:52:30details their due. So, let's continue with
00:52:34you, dear viewers, Resolution 181
00:52:36in the next episode. More information
00:52:40and details that we may hear for the
00:52:44first time. Until then, goodbye.
00:53:30We were expecting to leave the camp.
00:53:33There were raids in the camp.
00:53:43It's not the first displacement that we've been displaced from
00:53:46one area to another, from one area to another.
00:54:14The settlement here has been going on for almost a year
00:54:18and a half. They have confiscated almost 50% or more of the lands
00:54:21of the Eastern, Southern, and Eastern
00:54:25and Northeastern
00:54:26region.
00:54:43citizens on a
00:54:46constant and continuous basis. The goal of the settlers
00:54:49in this attack is to abandon the sheep and prevent people from going to their land.
00:55:21One News, welcome. The presidency condemned the ongoing Israeli
00:55:25aggression against Qalandia camp and the crimes
00:55:29committed by the occupation army against our people,
00:55:31which include raids and arrests, which
00:55:35resulted in the arrest of 50 citizens so far,
00:55:38and the demolition of homes and commercial shops,
00:55:41and the destruction of property, and the prevention of ambulance
00:55:46humanitarian duty, and the siege imposed on the
00:55:49camp, in flagrant violation of international law
00:55:53and international conventions. The presidency affirmed that
00:55:56what Qalandia camp is being subjected to comes within the framework of a systematic Israeli plan targeting Palestinian refugee camps.
