00:00:02that the Americans
00:00:07anything. I felt like I was in pressure. These are the official
00:00:11Good evening, viewers. I welcome you to this new episode of the program "From
00:00:13preventing the bus from the Capitals." Developments in manifestations of
00:00:19any body from Palestine and the region are the topic
00:00:19be. But this
00:00:20these... Look at this we will discuss with our guest, the editor-in-chief of the Janoubia website, Mr. Ali El Amin.
00:00:24Welcome, Mr. Ali, to the screen of Palestine TV. My greetings, thank you
00:00:28for the invitation. You are most welcome, Mr.
00:00:32The idea that was successful in, for example, Ali. Gaza, the Palestinian cause,
00:00:36and on Hezbollah's behavior the region, and the world after three years since October
00:00:397. There is no doubt that this
00:00:43scene that we see daily,
00:00:46and which is what we can describe
00:00:50as the catastrophe that Gaza was subjected
00:00:53on the available capabilities in
00:00:55common to and is still subjected to by the continuous Israeli
00:00:58aggression, with destruction,
00:01:03that we are making with a certain arrangement? I don't want to go that far, but at killing, and seizure. All of this
00:01:05corner, in addition to a large number of scene truly shows the extent
00:01:09to which
00:01:12shelling, they suffer from the Israelis are going,
00:01:14of them. I mean, the
00:01:14is with you, not that everyone which leads me to ask how the Israelis will live in the region. Can
00:01:19we were able to alleviate this they continue and
00:01:21psychological pain and these trying to delude us with this remain with this brutal force and uncontrolled force,
00:01:25I mean, from unrestrained and undisciplined,
00:01:28from
00:01:30and the Lebanese state who are present, that goes beyond everything we
00:01:32except this option. We didn't have to go to know about wars and what we have heard? How
00:01:37entirety. We distribute the roles to will the Israelis live in this region?
00:01:39In my estimation, after all that
00:01:41We work on the Bus of Dreams in has happened, there is a real
00:01:42acrobatic shows on
00:01:46which we work with Hamas carried out, which are dilemma for the Israelis, and perhaps some Israelis speak about that. It is true that
00:01:49Israel has a free hand in
00:01:53therapy room meets a great need of carrying out many we can go around in
00:01:54that justified all crimes and operations and destruction, and it has enormous
00:01:58capabilities on the military level. But is this
00:02:02enough to protect
00:02:05Hospital, where we work with Israel's security and preserve Israel?
00:02:07He wants to liberate Jerusalem, he should go to In my estimation, no. This for children so that they can alleviate indicates that this
00:02:11entity does not want or finds it difficult
00:02:14to continue and remain
00:02:17because it is not reasonable
00:02:20in logic, in life,
00:02:24we continued our work with that happen daily, of Palestinians, whether from Gaza or from in history, for an entity with this level of mobilization,
00:02:31needs of the for life, and all of this comes with this with this level of aggression, with this level of hostility, yes, towards
00:02:32point. And all of this does its entire surroundings, to be able to continue. It may continue
00:02:35for a year, two years, 10 years, 20 years, but it cannot
00:02:39remain like this. This
00:02:42The question is how do we deal with this also, in return, imposes challenges on us. There is no doubt that the Palestinian
00:02:45cause is, of course,
00:02:49we don't want to repeat slogans and words, it is a living cause, the cause of a people
00:02:52they live in a clean place, they sleep on who are still
00:02:55psychological counseling to alleviate striving and working to achieve the minimum
00:02:58of their rights as a Palestinian people.
00:03:06for us, how to confront this The challenge, and this is a path, means the possibility
00:03:07This excessive force, this of its realization in light of all these tragedies we are
00:03:12to coexist witnessing,
00:03:14with the other, it is not meaning, this right
00:03:18They are expanding and assaulting will certainly
00:03:19work through this vehicle to alleviate be obtained
00:03:21has affected by the Palestinian people. However,
00:03:25receive this consciousness, more present in this also brings us back to another question related to it, because
00:03:29also, if you permit me, in Hamas's statement,
00:03:31there was talk of a glorious
00:03:35in peace? I mean, this day. And it also reminded me of a speech, also in Lebanon,
00:03:39by Hezbollah, which it has always used, which is the talk about the glorious
00:03:43day whenever a major disaster
00:03:47the challenges and tries occurred, and they used to cover up disasters and catastrophes and strategic
00:03:51mistakes
00:03:53dog on the with more slogans and comforting talk
00:03:58hard to meet this and attempts, as they say in the Lebanese expression
00:04:01and Israel is in the heart of this or the well-known proverb, to cover
00:04:01for the Israeli elections, this the skies with sieves.
00:04:04Meaning, a question must be asked
00:04:08today after October 7, and this is from a rational
00:04:12leaders unknown to any perspective, because what I am seeing in the discussion, I mean, for example, it really
00:04:17hard to deal with bothers me, um, when I see within
00:04:20Israel, within Israeli society,
00:04:24within Israeli institutions, the discussion today
00:04:28about the causes of
00:04:32and demand, and also
00:04:36This minister comes out, this research centers are looking into the future, into how to deal with
00:04:40have time to think about future challenges. Did Israel,
00:04:43with what it did on October 7, provide it
00:04:46with strength, presence,
00:04:48to the far north. This and effectiveness, or did Israel decline? Has the Palestinian
00:04:52Sinai, so cause advanced after October 7 or
00:04:55regressed? Did we make mistakes? This
00:04:58discussion and this openness in the internal
00:05:01Israeli discussion, despite all
00:05:04their criminality, but they know their interests, is completely
00:05:07absent from the Palestinian
00:05:11stage and the Arab stage, and within the Lebanese
00:05:14stage, especially Hezbollah. The most important thing we can
00:05:18conclude from this experience, which is not yet
00:05:21over, but who
00:05:24reviews? Who holds accountable? How do we read
00:05:27this experience, October 7? What if
00:05:31October 7 was summarized as a military
00:05:34operation that was professionally executed? However, the issue is in the conclusions.
00:05:38But how much did it turn into a political project
00:05:42to control the land, whether in Palestine or
00:05:46in Lebanon? This introduction is the introductions that started when
00:05:49their obsession became power, their obsession became influence, not
00:05:53their obsession with the state. Investing
00:05:56in division is the most dangerous thing that the Palestinian
00:05:59cause has been exposed to, and we saw this throughout the past period
00:06:02that preceded October 7, which is the Israeli investment
00:06:06in Palestinian division and the response by Hamas,
00:06:09considering that merely holding Gaza is the most
00:06:13they aspire to and strive for. Therefore, the project
00:06:17of a Palestinian state, based on the idea that this state
00:06:21within the Oslo agreements is not acceptable or not so, but they
00:06:25were happy with the division, and this is the same logic that
00:06:28Hezbollah uses, because it seems to be
00:06:33ideological discourse that it is possible,
00:06:37through these divisions and investment in division within
00:06:41societies, and exclusivity in making
00:06:44decisions without taking into account
00:06:47all other elements in society and all factors
00:06:50and national interests, that it could lead to a result
00:06:54in favor of the Palestinian people or in favor of Palestine. This can only lead
00:06:57to a result for regional influence. That is, Iran
00:07:01benefits from it, but neither Palestine nor the Lebanese
00:07:04people benefit from it today, and even other
00:07:07regional and international parties may benefit from it, but on the level
00:07:11of achieving interests for the Palestinian people
00:07:14or for Lebanon, no. We were always seeing choices that
00:07:18were going in the direction of risking these interests,
00:07:21and what we are experiencing today indicates that these
00:07:25choices that were adopted by
00:07:28what is called the axis of resistance were
00:07:31destructive. Yes, destructive for the Palestinians
00:07:34and destructive for the Lebanese, and also destructive
00:07:37for what we can call an Arab regional system that could
00:07:41have played a role at some
00:07:44not diminish Israel's crimes, because we agree that
00:07:48we are dealing with a fierce enemy. No one disagrees with that, no one
00:07:52overbids on anyone on this matter.
00:07:55fierce enemy? What is the least costly formula
00:07:59that can lead to a result in dealing with such an enemy? If
00:08:02I always put the Israeli in front of a challenge
00:08:05of weapons, he wins with weapons. The Israeli
00:08:09wins, it's clear. We cannot defeat the Israeli
00:08:13militarily, we cannot without weapons. This is a challenge
00:08:18enemy, how to deal with this enemy, how
00:08:21to confront the dangers of this enemy.
00:08:24The best thing for the Israeli is to put him in a position
00:08:28where the response he will take is
00:08:31military. And the most dangerous thing you can do to embarrass
00:08:35the Israeli is when you corner him diplomatically, or when
00:08:38you prefer him, or when you don't give him a military pretext. Some
00:08:42may say, "What pretext does he need?" Of course, he needs a pretext,
00:08:45and he benefits from the pretext. And I'll give a simple example.
00:08:49In Lebanon, for example,
00:08:52um, the Israeli of Lebanon, perhaps the Palestinian
00:08:55cause, certainly the Palestinian cause has its presence
00:08:59and effectiveness and its global impact. But you notice
00:09:02that in Lebanon, with everything that happened in Lebanon, there was no march in the world
00:09:05that appeared in support of, or to react to
00:09:09anything. There was no march, no demonstration, nothing.
00:09:13Hassan Nasrallah was assassinated, but no demonstration
00:09:16took place anywhere in the world,
00:09:20maybe in Iran or something, but not in Europe, in America, nothing happened.
00:09:23Why? Because the world views this war
00:09:27as an Iranian-Israeli war, not a Lebanese-Israeli
00:09:30war, in the sense that Lebanon is helpless and not in control,
00:09:34especially since it was preceded
00:09:37by multiple visits by international envoys during the first
00:09:41support war. They would tell Hezbollah,
00:09:44"Brother, stop it. The Israelis might enter,
00:09:48withdraw three kilometers, and let the army
00:09:51deploy." All these calls,
00:09:55from dozens of European and international
00:09:57and Arab and non-Arab delegates,
00:10:01were all disregarded, and Hezbollah proved
00:10:04daily that it was fighting a battle
00:10:07in response to the interests of an axis,
00:10:10Iran's axis. And from
00:10:13here, the world was not looking at this war as having
00:10:16been started by Israel, but rather that Hezbollah
00:10:20insisted on starting it, and it began as if, unfortunately,
00:10:23as if it was an aggression against Israel, and therefore Israel
00:10:27had the right. Israel provided this suitable
00:10:30ground that allowed it to violate in
00:10:33this manner. And this is certainly not justifiable for Israel, but we are just saying
00:10:37how the resistant mentality deals with Gaza.
00:10:40Yes, and from Gaza, Israel moved to the West Bank today
00:10:43and to Lebanon today. How are you reading the scene in the West
00:10:47Bank? Confiscation of lands, seizure
00:10:51of these lands, demolition of homes.
00:10:55Israel is exploiting all of this situation. October
00:10:587, yes, which perhaps all of us,
00:11:01at a certain moment, when October 7 happened, and I was one of those
00:11:05who, for the first moment,
00:11:08was excited about it, that it was an unusual scene,
00:11:12but we soon discovered because there are also legitimate
00:11:15questions. I don't want to accuse,
00:11:19but in other words, was this operation, I mean,
00:11:22intentionally Israeli? I mean, was there
00:11:26least the Israelis are asking these questions, so let's also
00:11:30ask these questions. Also, the circle between them
00:11:33is more in the elections now or in the campaigns. These
00:11:36are questions meaning that this battle, this,
00:11:40this means the method used
00:11:42by
00:11:45Hamas, and let's see its repercussions and results,
00:11:49which occurred, and this is one of the repercussions of your question about the
00:11:52West Bank, because Israel took advantage, succeeded
00:11:56in investing the scene of entering
00:11:58the Gaza envelope and entering and the captivity
00:12:02and the captivity operation that happened to civilians and so
00:12:05on, and the operations that
00:12:08not comparable to what Israel committed, of course. However,
00:12:12Israel was able and succeeded in
00:12:14creating, I mean, if you want, a narrative
00:12:19this behavior in the sense that it justified it
00:12:23in the sense that
00:12:26seriously in confronting Israel, and Israel
00:12:29benefited from this situation to launch the operation
00:12:33that it is trying to, I mean,
00:12:35end any dream of the possibility of establishing
00:12:39a Palestinian state, and rather, perhaps, to create
00:12:42all suitable conditions for a new displacement
00:12:47the West Bank. I mean, it is trying to create harsh conditions
00:12:53Israeli escalation and the international
00:12:56embrace of the two-state solution,
00:12:59Mr. Ali, and today you are seeing, I mean, Israel today
00:13:03is standing against states,
00:13:05so certainly, somewhere, we are seeing what happened with
00:13:09Britain, the closure of the consulate,
00:13:11and there is a real discussion within Israel about
00:13:15what it means, what was achieved.
00:13:19There was, perhaps, a conference of studies four or five days
00:13:22ago in Israel about the issue of the Palestinian cause. Did
00:13:26these events, or what happened after October 7, and all that
00:13:29resulted from it, and what Israel did, lead
00:13:32to the weakening, if you will, of the Palestinian cause, or to
00:13:36its strengthening? There is an opinion within these
00:13:40research and study centers
00:13:44that says that the Palestinian cause has become more
00:13:47present in the global
00:13:50international positions. Now, of course, the United States
00:13:53is the main and influential party in a big way, and a supporter
00:13:57of Israel. But also, Israel's image
00:14:00declined, in the sense of a democratic state in the region,
00:14:03that it has human rights and so on. That image
00:14:07was damaged, it is no longer as it was. Clearly, the problems
00:14:10of the Israelis with more than one country at the level... But how do you read
00:14:14the statements of the Israelis today, from Netanyahu
00:14:18to Smotrich and Ben-Gvir, and how much do you see that
00:14:21the political struggle today during the elections or the preparation
00:14:26struggle is pushing them to escalate more, whether in Gaza or
00:14:30in the West Bank or in Lebanon? At some point,
00:14:33at some point, now, just a little
00:14:37bit, a little bit for a joke,
00:14:41um, the Israelis have started to resemble us in a certain
00:14:44way, I mean, Israeli policies
00:14:47have always been based on studies and research
00:14:50and, I mean, how political choices are made,
00:14:54how within institutions, today
00:14:57we see demagogues.
00:15:01member of parliament comes out,
00:15:03I mean, the rabbis are leading in a certain
00:15:07way. There is, I mean, absolute
00:15:10fanaticism. They reached the point of threatening, they reached
00:15:13the point of threatening
00:15:17there is a part, there is something of unusual behavior
00:15:20in Israeli behavior. For example, in,
00:15:23I mean, the Israeli
00:15:26army in the past, in previous periods,
00:15:3010, 15, and 20 years ago, in the context of the Lebanon
00:15:33war, the Israeli, for example, we
00:15:36know that during the occupation of South Lebanon, if one
00:15:39of the resistance fighters was killed, martyred in an operation, the Israeli would
00:15:42take the body and put it
00:15:46in a special cemetery and assign a number
00:15:48to the cemetery. Today, the Israeli leaves
00:15:52the bodies to animals and dogs. He doesn't take
00:15:58behavior. Secondly, the Israelis
00:16:01are now stealing in villages in South Lebanon.
00:16:05This is not typical of the Israeli army. I mean,
00:16:10in other words, look how the Israelis are changing.
00:16:14They are doing this, I mean, they want
00:16:17a security belt to protect their northern settlements, while we are now
00:16:21seeing them paving military roads,
00:16:24holding their celebrations inside the homes
00:16:27of Southerners in the South. These are phenomena that were not
00:16:32in the past. This is what I am talking about, the change that is
00:16:35happening, yes, in Israeli society,
00:16:39in the Israeli army, in... At some point, there is a state
00:16:42of تجاوز [violation] of the rules and conditions
00:16:46that the Lebanese army, the Israeli army, used to adopt
00:16:50in its behavior. I mean, suffice it to say
00:16:53that, as you said, these celebrations,
00:16:55the thefts,
00:16:58leaving the bodies
00:17:02of people
00:17:05and unfortunately, in many areas, this was
00:17:07much talked about. And these
00:17:11bombings that we are witnessing, Mr. Ali, do they justify
00:17:14the Israeli fears? No, no, this
00:17:18reflects, I mean,
00:17:21it reflects as if there is a plan being
00:17:24implemented,
00:17:26um,
00:17:28certainly, but also stemming from a state
00:17:32of hostility that we are hostile to
00:17:35all humans, because in Israel, in previous periods, it occupied the South, it's not the first time
00:17:39it occupies the South, but it has never carried out
00:17:42bulldozing operations like those happening today. Villages are being
00:17:46completely wiped out. Villages are being eradicated from their very existence. They are no
00:17:50longer completely there. There have been earthquakes caused by, of course,
00:17:53what we saw during the bombing, Ali
00:17:56Taher. The bombings that happened, the Mansouri bombings
00:18:01the strikes, the bombings
00:18:04that echo, I mean, you can be
00:18:07at a distance of 45 and 50 km and
00:18:10hear the sounds or the tremors that are
00:18:14happening as a result of the bombings. No, there is something unprecedented
00:18:18in the history of Israeli behavior,
00:18:21and this is what I am saying, that it indicates at some point that
00:18:25there is a transformation, and we are not saying anything new
00:18:28that there is a new group ruling Israel, and there is a new,
00:18:32more brutal logic that has no room
00:18:35for diplomatic and humanitarian aspects. But at the same
00:18:39time, this also carries the seeds of
00:18:42weakness, not just the seeds of strength.
00:18:45behavior, at its core, contains a weakness, an inability
00:18:51an inability, I mean, a blatant
00:18:54and explicit declaration that we live
00:18:57alone and will not live with others,
00:19:01that we cannot live in peace and security except by using
00:19:04killing and crime. Can Israel, even if
00:19:07it controls all its surroundings, live
00:19:12behavior confirms that it is unable
00:19:16to live in peace and uses this method as if it is declaring that
00:19:19it is unable to live in peace, and therefore Israel
00:19:22wins now, and wins in two years, wins in four years,
00:19:26but if there is a strategic mind in Israel thinking 50 years
00:19:29ahead, how can it continue in this way and with this
00:19:33method, by eliminating,
00:19:36by occupying, occupying the areas in Lebanon
00:19:39and Syria, specifically by violating the West
00:19:43Bank in the way we see today,
00:19:46and by attempting to re-annex the West Bank with what happened
00:19:49in Gaza? So how can one imagine
00:19:52that a state with these characteristics, no matter how much
00:19:56material power it possesses, is capable of continuing
00:19:59in a state of hostility that it spreads every day
00:20:03in its surroundings, in any way different
00:20:06from it towards all the surrounding peoples? Now, Mr. Ali,
00:20:10in parallel with this Israeli escalation in South Lebanon,
00:20:14talk is still ongoing about negotiations and
00:20:17about a new round between Lebanon and Israel
00:20:21in Florida. What do you see in this
00:20:23session?
00:20:26The military, these military officials will sit down, and this reflects,
00:20:29in my opinion, according to information, that it is merely a waste
00:20:33of time rather than a serious session
00:20:36that is expected
00:20:39after the Israeli elections. There is a Lebanese opinion
00:20:42from those concerned with the negotiations that says there is a bet that there will be
00:20:46a change in the Israeli government. There is a bet,
00:20:49there is a bet
00:20:52will enter a new phase of
00:20:56Lebanese bets on the Israelis, meaning
00:21:00that this behavior that is happening violates
00:21:02the agreement, it is not being implemented. There is great
00:21:06responsibility on Israel in this matter, and therefore there is an opinion that
00:21:10what happens after the elections will be different from what it was.
00:21:14This cannot be taken as a certainty, and it is certainly
00:21:17possible for it to happen, but I am presenting what is being said
00:21:20in this regard. However, on the other hand, there are also responsibilities
00:21:23on the Lebanese state
00:21:26in dealing with what is happening. Certainly, negotiations
00:21:30are not an option. Everyone is saying it's not, I mean, that
00:21:34if we go to negotiations, we will obtain our rights, and so on. But
00:21:37negotiations were a means to curb the Israeli military
00:21:41advance, and it is the least costly means than
00:21:44continuing the confrontation, especially since in today's war, it is clear that Hezbollah
00:21:48has raised the stakes.
00:21:59The Israeli, even with a bullet, Israel is destroying every day,
00:22:02killing every day, bombing every day, and there is no bullet from
00:22:06Hezbollah. What does this mean? It means that Hezbollah is not able to confront
00:22:09Israel, and therefore
00:22:11negotiations are the least costly option that the Lebanese state took, and Hezbollah
00:22:15left no choice for the Lebanese
00:22:22negotiations, but also, how much do negotiations need to provide a large space to stop these
00:22:26Israeli aggressions? I mean,
00:22:28it's a intertwined game. Israel is exploiting
00:22:32Hezbollah's situation, and two days ago, four days ago,
00:22:34the Iranians released a video that spread
00:22:38in the media. One of these
00:22:41colonels in the Revolutionary Guard
00:22:44was performing ablution, and it was as if we liberated Iraq and executed
00:22:48Saddam, he is saying. I mean, clearly, I am performing ablution,
00:22:52in preparation for the liberation of Jerusalem. What is the message I want to send?
00:22:57the border and liberate it. Let him launch missiles from Iran at
00:23:01Tel Aviv, but not from Lebanon. Lebanon can
00:23:04no longer bear to be a launching pad for
00:23:08futile operations. And speaking of not bearing it, Mr.
00:23:11Ali, the southerners today, from this, from this conflict,
00:23:15are suffering an unprecedented catastrophe.
00:23:18The southerners made sacrifices, accomplished the liberation in
00:23:21the year 2000, and that is enough glory for them. More
00:23:25than that is not required of them. It is required to protect Lebanon.
00:23:28It is required, but the adventures
00:23:30and for regional calculations and for the interests
00:23:34of other countries have led to an unprecedented
00:23:37catastrophe in the history
00:23:39of Lebanon and the history of the South and the history of the Shiites
00:23:43specifically in this country. It's an unprecedented
00:23:46catastrophe. Who bears responsibility for it? Certainly the enemy
00:23:50is responsible for this catastrophe, but did we
00:23:53provide him with the suitable conditions and circumstances
00:23:56to wage this war? Yes, we provided him with the conditions
00:23:59and suitable circumstances to wage this war and cause this destruction
00:24:03and this devastation. Suffice it to say that we failed
00:24:06to find a supporter for us internationally,
00:24:09regionally, Arab, European, American.
00:24:13This, this, this is our mistake, and all
00:24:16of this is because the decision-maker in
00:24:19this war, he took the decision to wage war
00:24:23and paid no attention to the people, nor to what
00:24:26they owned, nor to their homes, nor to their institutions, and considered
00:24:30them sacrifices, as if, I mean, the blood
00:24:33of people and their displacement
00:24:37and their catastrophe are expected details,
00:24:40while he was coming out every day telling us, "Yes, I protect you.
00:24:44I have Israel on its knees. I am the deterrent
00:24:46force. I am..." All of this turned out to be illusions,
00:24:51party and in the heart of its leaders. And we saw
00:24:55the scene where, I mean, all this killing that
00:24:59Israel practiced against
00:25:02Lebanese. The Israelis came out knowing their details.
00:25:06The victims are the families.
00:25:10These victims, yes, but the victims have
00:25:13their existence. They are people, they are humans,
00:25:17they are not, they are not things. They are not
00:25:20something worthless. They have value, a value,
00:25:23not to be treated as numbers.
00:25:27Israel treats them as numbers, but we are treating them
00:25:30as numbers. I mean, we are treating these victims
00:25:34and this killing and this death as if it's something normal,
00:25:37as if it's something natural. No, it's not something. Are you following, Mr. Ali, that the cost
00:25:40of displacement is very high, and the cost of destruction
00:25:44to people is also very high? And we are seeing these social
00:25:47cases today, and we are facing a siege. Because what do you imagine
00:25:51if, in the face of this displacement and this destruction and these
00:25:54social crises, do you imagine that they have no
00:25:57repercussions, no ...
00:26:00I mean, I expect a social explosion, and a social
00:26:03explosion is not necessarily positive; it can be
00:26:07negative. We might see, and we
00:26:09are seeing in parallel with this inflation,
00:26:12also many
00:26:15tension that we don't know where it will lead.
00:26:18I mean, we don't know how it will
00:26:22behavior in dealing with these crises
00:26:25with such indifference, by contenting ourselves with talk
00:26:28and words, by not taking practical steps that would limit
00:26:32the effects of this disaster, this will lead us to additional
00:26:36disasters. And what do you think? Is it possible that Netanyahu will resort to
00:26:39military escalation again, even though I believe Netanyahu
00:26:43has secured the north of Israel, he has a security belt,
00:26:47and he benefits from Hezbollah having weapons and Iranians in Lebanon.
00:26:51He can strike whenever he wants and escape negotiations and their results
00:26:55and remain in this situation, and this situation suits Hezbollah and suits
00:26:59Netanyahu. He still expects Lebanon
00:27:02to take decisive decisions. This battle,
00:27:05in its political sense, in its security sense,
00:27:09in its meaning,
00:27:11your duty as a Lebanese state. Everyone
00:27:17is with the state. The state wants the state, and whoever opposes the logic of the state is outside
00:27:20the state. There won't be a civil war. This is outside the state.
00:27:24The Lebanese people, most of them,
00:27:26the vast majority wants the state, wants a state
00:27:30of law, wants equality, wants
00:27:32security. Especially since those who promised security
00:27:36proved to be creators of illusions and caused
00:27:40an unprecedented catastrophe and disaster for them. Is there anyone who
00:27:43can be happy with what is happening? The whole world, Mr. Ali,
00:27:47is on the brink of waiting. The people of the South are on the brink of waiting
00:27:51to return to their land. They return while they are in the heart
00:27:55of the catastrophe and disaster, and this is a disaster that no one can deny
00:27:58today. If they can wait later, I mean,
00:28:04the consequences of what happened are catastrophic to the extent that
00:28:07What we don't know will happen, God willing.
00:28:10All the best, Professor Ali Al-Amin, editor-in-chief of the
00:28:14Janoubia website. I thank you for this meeting with you today. Thank you
00:28:18very much. Thank you, and our thanks also go out to you, dear viewers.
00:28:22May you be in God's
00:28:22keeping.
00:28:51The settlement has been with us for almost a year and a half.
00:28:55Approximately 50% or more of Raba's lands have been confiscated, especially
00:28:59the southeastern and eastern and northeastern areas.
00:29:20citizens on a
00:29:23permanent and continuous
00:29:27assault is to steal sheep and prevent people from going
00:29:30to their lands.
00:30:13The idea of the "Bus of Dreams" came as an initiative from the Palestinian Red
00:30:16Crescent Society, which was implemented in 2024.
00:30:20This was to meet the psychological and social needs
00:30:23and psychological pressures that all segments of the local
00:30:27community suffer from as a result of the tragic war that occurred in the Gaza Strip in
00:30:302023. So the association responded to this
00:30:33psychological need through the mental health department, and we implemented this
00:30:37initiative as a first initiative, meaning the first initiative of its kind in
00:30:40the Gaza Strip, to have a "Bus of Dreams" that carries children's dreams and travels
00:30:44with them throughout the Gaza Strip, traveling through displacement camps in all
00:30:48governorates from the far south
00:30:51bus was crowned with a set of corners and a set of activities
00:30:54to reach the children and meet their psychological and social needs
00:30:58and try to alleviate the psychological pressures that children suffer from as a result of the war
00:31:02that occurred in 2023 and is still ongoing
00:31:05until now.
00:31:24Kareem Al-Zaytouna Tabouna bread
00:31:27Shadi and the ghalyoun and Yarghoud
00:31:31and Tik and Aghaniyoru
00:31:45Dreams in a corner that had a cinema corner, and this
00:31:48corner, due to the electricity outage for three years in the Gaza Strip, and children
00:31:52not watching TV or screens or
00:31:56even having electricity in tents or homes, the idea came up of how
00:31:59we could create a mobile cinema that travels through displacement camps
00:32:03and through which children can watch cartoon movies or any
00:32:07movies they like, animated cartoons, or show
00:32:10stories with value and of course
00:32:13meaningful for children. There was a great turnout from children
00:32:17at the cinema
00:32:20activities and corners, the cutting and pasting corner, the
00:32:24storyteller corner, the sports corner, the
00:32:26sports games corner, and these corners made the children very
00:32:30happy and met a large number of psychological and social needs
00:32:34of
00:32:34the children.
00:32:39You want to be
00:32:40a sentence
00:32:56community mental health to provide social,
00:33:00psychological, and recreational services to our children within
00:33:03educational displacement camps through traveling within these camps
00:33:07from the far south to the far north to provide psychological
00:33:10and social support and recreational services to our children through
00:33:14the Dream Bus vehicle, which aims to provide a safe space
00:33:19the psychological and social pressures that they are going through as a result of the war of extermination
00:33:22that the Israeli occupation is practicing against our people
00:33:26during this devastating war. So we, the Palestinian Red Crescent
00:33:29and mental health, rely on the Palestinian Society's message
00:33:32to provide humanitarian and recreational services
00:33:36to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. We start our day according to a previously
00:33:39prepared plan, which is coordinated through the mental health department and
00:33:43through the team. The Dreams and Open Studio team, through
00:33:47staff and volunteers, coordinates this plan, and through it,
00:33:50work is done according to the target group present within displacement
00:33:53camps or hospitals or
00:33:56the places where work is done or targeted. The idea of
00:33:59the Bus of Dreams is an idea that came through the community mental
00:34:03health team and the Palestinian Red Crescent
00:34:06Society, through our administration that worked on developing this vehicle to provide
00:34:10humanitarian services that combine entertainment
00:34:13and psychological relief. The community travels throughout the Gaza
00:34:17Strip to provide these psychological, social, and recreational services
00:34:21at the same time, because the Palestinian people suffer from great
00:34:24difficulties, the war of extermination practiced by the Israeli occupation against
00:34:27us, psychological pressures and terrorism, shelling
00:34:30and terrorism, and other things. So we
00:34:34psychological and social pressures through the activities that
00:34:38we carry out by alleviating the meaning
00:34:40of games, which is a game activity in case there are
00:34:44tools. We rely on our specialized team
00:34:48to make games through the existing environmental tents in light of the shortage,
00:34:51because today a set of building blocks costs 150 shekels today,
00:34:55and they are not available in the Gaza Strip because the occupation prevents their entry into the Gaza
00:34:59Strip. We travel throughout the Gaza Strip to provide
00:35:03psychological, social, and recreational services
00:35:05at the same time in the Gaza Strip because the Gaza Strip needs
00:35:09psychological and social support because it has been suffering from three years of devastating
00:35:13war and terrorism. So our children need
00:35:16many days and bitter years until they can alleviate their humanitarian suffering.
00:35:20In every part of the Gaza Strip, coordination is done with
00:35:23the existing camps within the Gaza Strip and the educational initiatives
00:35:26and even the hospitals that provide medical support
00:35:30for the injured and wounded. We
00:35:33provide them with psychological and social support by visiting these hospitals
00:35:37and their centers to alleviate the suffering and psychological pressures that
00:35:40our Palestinian people suffer from. The difficulties
00:35:43we face
00:35:49firstly are the lack of resources or materials. That is, the lack of
00:35:53toys is a challenge and an obstacle for the team to work,
00:35:56but we replace them, but we need them. The issue is also that
00:36:00the spare parts that cars need, we also
00:36:03, as the Bus of Dreams, have no spare parts, but unfortunately the occupation prevents the entry
00:36:06of these things. Some logistical
00:36:10capabilities that the team needs are also missing, which also prevents
00:36:14us from performing 100% of our work. That is, there
00:36:18are also supplies such as paper and stationery and
00:36:21children's toys that our children desperately need, but the difficulties
00:36:25we face in the field today are primarily the lack of
00:36:28suitable camps for the existing reality
00:36:31due to the destruction and devastation left by the Israeli occupation. That is, some
00:36:35camps suffer from lack of water or even roads,
00:36:41entering these areas because they are not qualified.
00:37:09My corner, the open studio corner,
00:37:13involves more than one activity
00:37:16within the corner. We have cutting and pasting, we have
00:37:20drawing, we also have handicrafts,
00:37:23we have wool crafts
00:37:25that we make, like bookmarks
00:37:30the children. We also
00:37:33work on shadow puppets
00:37:36and dolls. We let
00:37:38the child escape the reality he
00:37:41lives in by making up a story
00:37:44and writing it. After we write it, we turn it into a script.
00:37:47We divide this script into characters.
00:37:50We make dolls
00:37:53from them, made by the children. I teach them how to make
00:37:59the character, and then we perform the play in its
00:38:04the children, and we produce a complete play.
00:38:07We perform
00:38:09occasions,
00:38:12whether it's a national occasion,
00:38:16Mother's Day, Eid, any occasion. We perform
00:38:20acrobatic shows for them. We choose a group, we choose a suitable
00:38:23song for the occasion,
00:38:26and we start working on it. We train the children on how to make
00:38:29movements suitable for the music in the song.
00:38:33So a complete acrobatic show is performed with the children. We present them
00:38:37at the association's celebrations or in the camps
00:38:41where we are present. We, in our center,
00:38:44welcome children from
00:38:46around
00:38:49the association, children from the local community, children with special
00:38:52needs. Many categories of them come to us.
00:38:56We welcome them at the association, and also from the rehabilitation center,
00:38:59we take a large group of children with special needs.
00:39:03The children I was working with before
00:39:07the war and during the war, the children
00:39:10changed a lot in a
00:39:13fundamental way, a radical change.
00:39:16The children
00:39:19were affected by the life they lived in the tents,
00:39:23by the tragedies they saw and were exposed
00:39:25to. I mean, many of them used to come to us before, and their
00:39:29mental state was very comfortable.
00:39:32They were, as I told you, full of activity. They loved to participate
00:39:36with us in all our parties, in all
00:39:38our events. I noticed that some children
00:39:42had no motivation
00:39:45to work, no
00:39:48enthusiasm for work.
00:39:51They were distracted 24 hours a day. We sat with them for more
00:39:54than one session. The girl at first did not talk about anything
00:39:58she had been exposed to or what
00:40:00she saw. After a period of working with her,
00:40:03I continued with her for almost two months,
00:40:07following up on her work, and we noticed that the girl
00:40:10was suffering at the end
00:40:14of working with her, that she was suffering from a problem, that she
00:40:18saw a dead
00:40:20street. This affected her completely. She told
00:40:24me, "I don't know how to eat. I'm
00:40:27sitting at home, for example, and I can't stop thinking about it. It occupies my mind
00:40:31all the time. Even in my sleep, I have nightmares, and when I'm awake,
00:40:34the only thought I have is this." So we worked with her in a way that
00:40:38I started to occupy her mind. For example, today you have
00:40:42to take this work and do it at home. I want you to bring it to me tomorrow,
00:40:46completely finished. These drawings, I want you
00:40:48to color them. This story, for example, from the other
00:40:52groups, I send it to other activities. You have to take this story
00:40:55and read it. So the girl started to get busy little by little
00:40:59with the things we gave her. So she started to
00:41:02improve significantly compared to before. So she told me, "I no longer
00:41:07this matter." So little by little, she started to forget the scene
00:41:11she saw with the things we were doing with them. During the war,
00:41:15I would go and fetch water, and I'll give it to you.
00:41:19You came and changed our spirits,
00:41:22and you brought
00:41:25us games as well.
00:41:28And cinema, and stories, and everything. I mean, we were happy.
00:41:31I wish the war would end
00:41:34and we would go back to our lives. I am the only survivor.
00:41:38I came out of the house like this.
00:41:40I didn't feel anything except that I was eating
00:41:44and the damage was upon us. I didn't feel
00:41:47the hospital. Before the war, we didn't see this.
00:41:50Animated pictures, animated pictures they brought us.
00:41:54They brought a TV and they brought the bus for them.
00:41:57They are playing with us, letting us draw. We haven't studied
00:42:01or played in a long time. We want to study, we want
00:42:04to write, we want to play. When the bus of reconciliation came, we played.
00:42:08We watched them make the tent and make the TV.
00:42:27We all know that children, in light of the tragic war, lived
00:42:30through very difficult situations of displacement and movement through
00:42:34trailers and watching many very
00:42:37painful scenes of shelling and... I mean, many
00:42:40terrifying scenes. Children were exposed to a range of behavioral
00:42:44and psychological problems that affected their psychological well-being. We even found
00:42:48that children suffer from involuntary urination as a result of continuous
00:42:52stuttering, they suffer from very difficult situations. However, through our activities
00:42:56in the mental health department,
00:43:01behavioral problems as much as possible. Through
00:43:05the mental health department, the department carries out a large number of supportive
00:43:08programs, including the "Corners" program through the "Open
00:43:12Studio," which is a safe place for children within
00:43:15the association. It carries out a range of activities and events
00:43:19to alleviate the psychological pressures that children experience, in addition
00:43:22to a room we called the "Play Therapy" room, through
00:43:26referred children as individual cases
00:43:30and work with them. The play
00:43:33children. A large number of children have been referred to it, whether they are wounded from
00:43:37the hospitals located in the association,
00:43:41such as the Medical Rehabilitation Hospital and Al-Amal
00:43:45the wounded and their companions within the Palestinian Red Crescent Society's
00:43:49hospitals, such as Al-Amal Hospital, Al-Ta'heel
00:43:53Al-Tibb Hospital, Al-Mawasi Hospital, Al-Saraya Hospital, Al-Amal
00:43:56Al-Aam Hospital, and the medical points affiliated with primary care. So through
00:44:00the mental health department, there are a group of male
00:44:03and female specialists who go down to the medical point
00:44:06and the field hospitals affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society to meet the psychological
00:44:11families, companions, and wounded who suffer from
00:44:15the horrors of wars. Through these cases, we discover cases
00:44:19that need psychological intervention and need to hold more than one psychological session
00:44:22with them, and therefore they are referred to the play therapy room
00:44:26in the Red Crescent Society in Al-Amal City, where
00:44:29a female psychologist works to open files for children and provide
00:44:35psychological pressures and behavioral problems that children experience.
00:44:39We also provide for the local community and work with the most
00:44:42vulnerable groups, who are women. We carry out
00:44:45a program called "Bridge of Love," and this program
00:44:49consists of 10 sessions. Each session is held
00:44:53during the week. We visit the camp and hold this session,
00:44:56and there are pre- and post-forms to assess how much the program
00:45:01the women who
00:45:05program. The program tries to alleviate the psychological pressures
00:45:09that they suffer from as a result of being in a tent. We all know that a tent
00:45:13has many difficult issues. Until now, the Palestinian people,
00:45:16especially in the Gaza Strip, have not been able to adapt to the tent
00:45:20in all its details. We imagine that a person was
00:45:23living in a stable environment in a home where he felt
00:45:26safe, stable, and private. Now, women live
00:45:29in a tent where there is no privacy or secrecy in dealing
00:45:33with their children or their husbands inside the tent. But she tries
00:45:38need, to try to live with her family members inside
00:45:42the tent so that she can cope with the living
00:45:45conditions. This has affected her, causing her to experience a great
00:45:48deal of psychological pressure. Women suffer from a lack
00:45:52of privacy and secrecy due to the presence of tents, but she tries
00:45:57things in a way
00:46:00that involves awareness. So we always try to educate women and
00:46:03children about the initial reactions to psychological trauma and psychological
00:46:07pressures that they suffer from. We try to empower them with a set
00:46:10of psychological skills, such as relaxation, walking,
00:46:13expression, and alleviating the severity of psychological effects and psychological
00:46:17pressures. We try to empower them with a set of activities,
00:46:21a set of techniques, a set of strategies so
00:46:24that they can alleviate psychological pressures. We try to help them
00:46:27also deal with their children during fear, during displacement, during shelling. And this
00:46:31is something that the Red Crescent Society, through its mental health department,
00:46:35is trying hard to do, from the beginning of the war until now, to be
00:46:38present in the local community with women, children,
00:46:42and the elderly. Our wish, as the Bus of Dreams, is that life returns
00:46:46to normal, and that the war ends, and the suffering
00:46:49of people ends, and the crossings open, and the wounded travel.
00:47:24this area, we transferred it to all the branches
00:47:27existing in the sector. So we also have
00:47:31different corners
00:47:34and also different activities that we carry
00:47:37out. So each activity is different from
00:47:40the other activity, depending on the children and depending on their ages and depending
00:47:46the camp or the available capabilities in the place internally.
00:47:49The difficulties are the scarcity of available capabilities. I mean,
00:47:52frankly, there are many things we ask for during work that we
00:47:56don't find. Glue is very, very
00:47:59difficult to get. The products that we used
00:48:02to have completely available, we can't find any
00:48:07capabilities are very, very scarce. So we
00:48:10work with what is available and we can
00:48:13also produce things from the place itself.
00:48:18used paper,
00:48:20cardboard, for example, we carried out an activity
00:48:24of houses. Each one is a house they dream of, how they
00:48:28want to build it. So we made them houses out of cardboard.
00:48:31We designed them and colored them with the colors that each child wanted
00:48:35to color them with. Frankly, the Red Crescent
00:48:37has been very supportive of us and has been backing
00:48:40us to the extent that it provided us with a car so that
00:48:44places. It provides us with many capabilities. I mean,
00:48:48anything available in the market, they bring it to us. Our aspirations are for the war to end. I mean, frankly,
00:48:52we lived through
00:48:59indescribable and untold things.
00:49:02So we lived through many difficulties and many circumstances. I mean,
00:49:06we were harmed, the children were harmed, the whole society
00:49:09was harmed by this war, and we all suffered. Despite
00:49:12this suffering, we continued our work,
00:49:17the children to relieve them and they also relieved
00:49:20the suffering that we are experiencing.
00:49:31We also have a program for the elderly. We try to sit with the elderly. We all
00:49:35know that the war also brought its woes upon the elderly.
00:49:38In a normal situation, they live on, I mean,
00:49:41they sleep in a clean place,
00:49:45a clean bed, their food is clean. Today, unfortunately, the elderly live in
00:49:48a tent that does not protect them from the heat of the sun and does not protect them from the severe
00:49:51cold. They suffer from a range of chronic diseases, they suffer from psychological
00:49:54pressures as a result of, for example, witnessing shelling or
00:49:58the martyrdom of one of their children or the capture of one of their children. These effects have left very
00:50:02difficult effects on the elderly. However, through our awareness-raising activities and supportive
00:50:05activities for the elderly, we were able through these activities to alleviate
00:50:09the severity of the psychological effects that the elderly suffer from, through initiatives,
00:50:12through awareness sessions, through meaningful activities, through
00:50:16continuous sessions, through even crowning the Bus of Dreams by
00:50:20having it go down and hold meetings. It carries out recreational activities for the elderly
00:50:24and women in displacement camps. Of course, the need
00:50:27is great and the challenges are very difficult that we suffer from, but the Red Crescent
00:50:31Society, through its mental health department, is still
00:50:34present and keeps pace with
00:50:40to reach the largest possible number of vulnerable groups so that we can provide
00:50:44psychological and social services to all segments of the local community without exception.
00:50:47We also had an intervention with people with special needs
00:50:51at Hamad Hospital. We reach, through the Bus of Dreams,
00:50:54the most vulnerable groups, who are the most, I mean,
00:50:58suffering from disabilities or amputations.
